this function is mostly for tiers below 5 i think. so that thy don’t drop to much in value.
TL;DR but i watched the video.
there is a average of 1.5 globs of ectos per salvege ( this is from 100s of salvages before the price on gems rose this much) also some of my friends confirm this and a few other sources. so its still a preety bad offer if you are only in it for the ectos. 300 gems are quite costy u know.
ok. but then the master kit should drop 0.75% globs / item on average right ? because 25% is half of 50%.correct! and this is also confirmed by me and some friends.
o now whn we have the odds on everything we can start the mathlabb ( also i will asume 50gems = 1g:
lets say i got a rare pice of equipment i want to salvage to get ectos. what should i use?
BL kit:
1 salvage costs 300/50/25g //the thing costs 300gems every 50 gems costs 1g and we use only 1 salvage. [1 salvage = 24s]
ok. and we can sell the 1.5 globs of ectos for 25s*0.85s each this result in 32s
32-24 = 8s profit
masters kit
one salvage costs 15/25s = [ 1 salvage = 0.6s]
ok and we get 0.75 ectos from it we use the same as the last one 25s*0.85 ea gives us 16s
16-0.6= 15s or about 15 atleast. making the masterkit our winner.
“ok, but we allready kinda knew that”
ok lets see when we do gain on using the BL kit
basicly what you buy with the bl it is a 20% (flat)extra chance to acquire the upgrade
“so what does the rune have to cost for it to be worth the extra money ?” (on average)
this will recquire some math and if you allready are boored just skip to the end i just put this in here to proof my math is correct.
BL Kit costs 24s to use as stated before.
Master Kit costs 0.6s ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
cost on the uppgrade component: X
we want to find when X*0.8-0.6<X-24
but we have to include the ecto price
so its rather X*0.8-0.6+16<X-24+32 -> X*0.8+15<X+8
solve the equation
X = 35 ( all the costs are described in s thus this is also in silver)
answer = 35s
skip to here.
after some math we have concluded that it is more profitable using the BL salvage kit if the component is worth more than 35s (even if we have to buy the kit) thus making BL salvage kit a rather good investment. rememer that this is the average when the gem price are at 50gems / g and 25s / glob if the glob price increase the required price on the upgrade component decrease. and if the price on gems increases the required price on the component is increased.
so this is far from the most usless item on the tp. the most usless item on the tp i think would be the revival orb. 5 gold for a revive? id rather walk that bit. ( cant be used in wvwvw) after that id say its the full repair canister 1g and some silver for a repair .. lol sure it can have its uses if u forgot to repair and u cant stop what you are doing. but you should get enough from the BL chests to cover that …. after that i don’t now? the merchant? bl salvage kit is far from the worst anyway.
TL;DR?
if the upgrade component costs 35s or more it IS profitable to use the Black lion salvage kit at the current prices ( 50gems/g , 25s/ecto)
PS
if you want to now what the exact current price do this:
5&( [ectoprice]&0,85&0,75 – 0,6 ) / ( [ectoprice]&0,85&1,5 – [price for 100gems]&3/25) =
(replace all “&” with multiply, the websit turned some of the the text to fat stile. and remeber that all the prices should be in silver so if a glob costs 1g3s its 103 that you should insert)

I, for one, don’t mind legendaries taking a long time to achieve. What I am kitten about is how much luck is involved in obtaining the components for them. Before I have stated that I’ve played this game every day since the pre-release and have NEVER gotten a rare weapon or armor from a chest. I must not change that statement. I’ve received one rare helm… that i couldn’t use because I don’t have any heavy armor classes. At least it sold fairly well. In the mean time someone has both Dusk and Dawn. I’ll even take it a step further and say that it’s theoretically possible to play this game until the servers are shut down and never get a precursor to drop.
That is what i despise about RNGs and that’s why they shouldn’t be used for the collection process of any legendary. But, if they just have to be in there, anet should at least make a baseline for success. For instance, if the droprate for charged lodestones is 1 in 20 then there should be a counter that forces the 20th elemental killed to drop one. I prefer to have a set, quantifiable amount of labor that I can schedule for rather than a random crapshoot that’s obviously doesn’t favor me.
well they will introduce a scavenger hunt for the precursor as they did with the halloween event. but until then …
also i think a change is inbound on the charge lodestones, there is way to much QQ on the forums and some with the right to do so and with valid arguments. so in the end it will all be good i think but we will have to run with what we have.
RNG is RNG. tbh i don’t really mind it being there as long as the chance is decent. i dont know your level but if you are 80 and never get a rare drop. wow that’s some mean RNG. pray more to the RNGgod I suppose :P.
i havent played allot of sPvP but im somewhat into the meta. and as far as i am awere there will almost never occour 5v5 fights because the objective is to take objectives. sure it could occur some 5v5 sometimes when you are doing the bosses in the maps or altars as in the latest one. but generally the fights will be 1v1 ,1v2, 1v3 , 2v2, 2v3 or 3v3 everything over that will be happening more rarely and even then these 5v5 fights wont be that important. sure u might give the enemy a buff and some points but u gain that back from just being better in low number encounters. ( if this is how all in the team are speced) if we want to compare it with lol where a wonn teamfight after 40min mark can lead to victory in a so far even game. thats why the meta is around teamfights in lol. here however 1 team cant winn just by winning an lategame teamfight, the other team will just respawn and everything will be back at where it was before just having to retake all the points. the new map is great for a 5v5 encounter making that 1/game altar capture is vital… however that is only 1 teamfight. but the new map i think is a better map for competitive play. as there is an alternative to the capturepoints. in the rest there is basicly a 4v4 and with a treb on each side, witch is cool and all but still kinda meh.
Any chance we could get spellcheck on these forums?
You need to explain your reasons for why you don’t want it easier to obtain, you also need to do it coherently and with proper english so that people can understand. As it is, your post is nothing more than a sad incomprehensible rant to the tune of “NO! I don’t wanna!”
Yes it is a huge investment in time, money, skill points, etc. and yes; some players can get one easier than other players and yes; some legendaries are easier/harder to obtain than others but at the end of the day it is worth it. The requirements have not changed since day 1 so you should know it is legendary for a reason, either you are willing to put in effort for it or you are not. I’m still at 2 minds about whether or not I would like them to change any aspect.
The only idea I could offer towards the scavenger hunt type legendary would be to go back along the lines of the Moa Chick hunt; now that was amazing, it was hard and you really had to go to the ends of tyria to get all the pieces. I suppose if they made the hunt dish out a precursor of your choice at the end but one that was soul/account bound it would stop players exploiting it for cash; hopefully. The challenge of the legendary is still there but without the random chance of “Scrooge McForge-Djinn” while retaining a way to not make it feel totally out of the grasp of players.
if they were easier to get, Sunrise and Twilight would be too common.
This made me LOL hard, I can’t spend 15 mins in LA without someone spamming this across map chat or watching someone run past with it.
i’m sry i’m not as good in English as you are its my second language. i wish i knew how to type 100% proper English but i did at least apologize.
and for explaining my view. how about read my almost 5000 character long topic witch i had to shorten to meet the “body length must not be more that 5001 characters” criteria. or it isn’t good enough? maybe you want another 5000 words. oh i can give you to it if you want but i think most ppl would skip that one aswell and in the end just take up space in my topic that i started because i wanted some discussion about the legendarys.
and thank you for your response
also my “k” key is very wierd at the moment.

Man, people will see conspiracies everywhere.
Gems on the currency exchange are in limited supply. Only the gems sold for gold are available for to buy for gold.
Actually they arent, gems and gold are all just number on a server, those number can be changed at any time by any amount for any reason the people controling those servers deem neccesary.
cargan what r u doin’?
It would appear from the trending of the spidy graphs that some market forces are in effect, that does not mean that tommorow some one will not descide that the rate will be set at one gem for one gold or 10000 for one.
Cargan??!!
Past performace is no indicator of future results in a completly artifical market.
STAHHP
(this is for those out there who love 9gag)
sorry for the joke cargan but it fitted too well to resist. no offence, if you find this offensive please message me and i’ll remove it ASAP.
ill ignore the first and the third part u said because those things are to complex for me to understand.
why does it appear on the trend that there is a market force going on? is it because it is going up?
but you now what i think then. i think there is a market force making event items to cheap. just look at the candy corn 4-5c ??? and now the ugly stuff. look at the charts, charts donsen’t lie
http://www.gw2spidy.com/item/38449
http://www.gw2spidy.com/item/38448
http://www.gw2spidy.com/item/38450
all of them started high and they drasticly fell in price
same with the candycorn
http://www.gw2spidy.com/item/36041
what will happen next? 4-5c legendarys?? Anet you must do something!!! Act
Well the hats are a possible drop from the same boxes that give the minis and Foostivoo. Maybe while trying to obtain the three minis after making Foostivoo they got another Foostivoo?
I’d say highly unlikely, but it is possible I guess. Just look at Wiki how many Foostivoos dropped. I can add 60 chests with no Foostivoo q:
Edit: The obvious solution still is to make the stuff tradeable. And Anet knows it if they read the forum.
please inform me why it is “highly unlikely” i bought 10 boxes the other day and i got 2 hats out of it and even if fistivoo cant be acuired through the box it can be droped from wintersday boxes and that i can agree with that its highly unlikely unless ofcourse he was trying to get the unbreable bell witch only drop from those wintersday boxes at witch case he would open 1000s of boxes. so i dont thin its unlikely someone will end up with more than 2 of the same thing after this event that is acc bound. but that’s just me.
Problem – Your responding to a very different topic. The issue that this person is mentioning he’s running into isn’t that he can’t join the dungeons or even select which one he wants to attend, rather that he can’t get glue OR stuffing that is required to make many of the rewards from this holiday event. For instance he can’t make the Endless Tonics or the Golem Toy mini pet because he is no longer being reward the mats to make them. I to have this issue and I hope Anet allows us to reliably and repeatedly acquire more of the Enchanted Stuffing and Drops of Glue so we can actually enjoy the items they put effort into making.
What doesn’t work – Black Lion is not a reasonable solution as the prices for even ONE of these items is 1 silver. Assuming you had neither Glue or Stuffing you would have to spend 1 gold only to have a CHANCE at getting ONE tonic. That is not including the other mats that you need.
Effect – This makes it very hard for casual, new, or poorer players to enjoy a casual event as they probably don’t have their pockets lined with gold. (Unless they are relatively wealthy IRL and are willing to spend it).
Possible Solution -
1 – Returning the Stuffing and Glue drops to Tixx’s dungeon completion.
2 – Make the Wintersday Gifts drop Glue or Stuffing but maybe only 1 – 5.
3 – Make the holiday vendor sell Glue and Stuffing for the all too plentiful Ugly Wool Socks/Hat/Sweater.This IS a issue, people wouldn’t post it on the forums in mass if it wasn’t. People like to play this game, it makes sense to let them actually have fun with it not bar them from it. Have a good one guys, Happy Wintersday and Happy Holidays.
id like to give some feedback to your solutions
1. maybe but not realy. this would make wad/ glue worhless. making the endless tonics worth next to nothing and way to common.and if the reward was to low it would be to grindy.
2. there is already a small chance 25 wad/glue drop from boxes. all boxes have an equal chance of getting them. its a rare drop though. but in the end of the event the price should be alot more wellcomming to poorer people thats why i sold all of mine. and to buy it back later.
3.see 1.
I hope you understand why 1 or 3 cant be done. and the 2nd one already is in effect.
Merry Christmas!
too Hard ( RNG, ’nuff said)
No ( read above)
Yes ( 50 boxes 6 pets, one of each i got lucky)
even more Yes ( no RNG, ’nuff said)
why dont they just call it a lottery ticket to winn a mini? cause everything else you get in the box can be bought from tp for 5s or less except for the hat.
Gems are produced at will by them, it is an infinite resource.
The players gem acquisition make the rate gem-gold to fluctuate around a base rate completely controled by them.I don’t think I ever said that Gems were a finite resource. And note that I used the world “supply-and-demand algorithm”.
The market seems based on supply and demand because of the fluctuations but if you look at the rate change over time since the game launched you will realize that the market is completely controled, both by an artificial gem-gold rate and by loot drop reduction nerf that pushes the players towards buying gems to get gold.
All I am seeing in the graph is gem prices going higher and higher, with very little deflation. This is natural, because the Gems have a much higher perishing rate and lower supply than Gold. You literally cannot exchange Gems for anything without some Gems disappearing. This is not true for Gold, as you can exchange Gold for items through mail. Not to mention that the fee on Gem-to-Gold exchange is much higher than the TP fee on Gold.
And Gems have a naturally lower supply than Gold. Every single player brings in Gold, whereas only some bring in Gems.
Also, the picture you posted shows a “ninja drop nerf” at November 15th. Note that the November 15th patch was when they made Plinx much less frequent, thus obviously people are going to get less drops, since their farming was made less efficient. Also notable that the Gems started climbing in prices at that point. Prior to that, they had been reasonable stable.
Olba,
Really?..:)
How do you explain this:
“The area I highlighted in my posted image shows clearly that they introduced an artificial constant raise in gems value against gold (see the nice constant positive gradient!).
http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/7231/bltc17dec2012.jpg
On top of that artificial trade constant gem value raise they put the normal gamer trades and the graph appears with many spikes as normal.
The only problem is that last Friday they delayed the Wintersday event and everyone was expecting the new gem store items and almost nobody bought or traded gems until the patch went live on Saturday.
This curious gamers behaviour revealed the ninja gem versus gold constant value raise introduced by them, as the in-game graph shows.
I think there are not any more doubts about the market manipulation..:)RedBaron.6058125643213 Change in loot parameters or a bug? [Merged]"
I have to agree with Olga. the picture you show is most likely just a downtime in the exchange rate traker. Gw2spidy have similar grafs when they go offline ( http://www.gw2spidy.com/item/20356 11th of december to 12th) i can explain it further but i think you get the deal. furthermore. IF there was a hidden constant that increased the price on gems then it would certainly not be visible there. IF there is a hidden constant we will never know because Anet will keep this for themselves (as they should)
but seriously, there isn’t any hidden constant. the gold to gem trade is purely based on player to player trading. and of course taking a % of of the traded sums in order to keep abusers/manipulation away. the only source of gems are money → gems. money creates gems and trading it removes some gems and some gold for the heath of the system.
and the reason why the gold increase is because of the economy haven’t stabilized yet. and they are still making changes in the game like removing farming events like plinx. wait until Mars or April next year. then i think the market is stable or close to it. if the gem price keep rising even after a year or two then I might say that there is something going on beneath the surface.
Merry Christmas!
ok ive said this 2 3 or even 4 times already… im going to have to wright it in big fat cursive letters please do not remove this mods it is just to clearfy so ppl dont have to read anything to get the kitten messege
I DO NOT WANT LEGENDARYS TO GET EASIER TO OBTAIN
ill even wright it twice to make sure people read it.. please disregard this i’m sorry i’m really tired of these posts saying that i want the thing to be easier to be obtain.
I DO NOT WANT LEGENDARYS TO GET EASIER TO OBTAIN
ok, done. and again I’m terribly sorry. this is not me screaming or anything else. its just to make sure people read it
HELL I EVEN WANT IT TO BE HARDER
sorry i had to.
this is not about the time or how hard they are to get. it is the proportion between the different parts that is karma gold sillpoints dungeon badges etc. i’m sorry if i was unclear about that.
ok,this is for those that dont understand the problem / think 1c is a under/overcut.
GW2 market is comparable to a auction house where you only get 1 bid and u can underbid with anything even a cent. as long as the number is larger. if you want to change that bid it costs you 5% of your bid. sure the roles are reversed but here we are all buyers / sellers.
this would result in some very random and wierd auctions.
firstly; nobody want to be the first bidder. because they have no idea of how much the other consider the item to be worth and even if he hits what its worth he will be undercut with 1 cent.
and the price would jump very much. because the only way to have a chance to get the item is to guess what the others think its worth + 5% or something.
what would this result in? the auction house makes 5% more than they should and the guy who value the thing the most might not even get it.
secondly: a low price is initiated somehow. and ALL the buyers increase the price by 1 cent. because nobody cares to increase the price because they don’t care enough and hope that there isn’t any1 else that want the thing at that price.
resulting in the auction house losing ALOT of money.
so it could go in either direction. sure it isn’t a perfect equal to GW2 economy but close. and of course everything is reversed if you want to apply it to gw2. there is a reason why ppl get unlimited offers and no fee and they have a pusher in a auction house. because the0y want a a fair price. and if they were only to allow one bid they would’t get alot of customers because its very unreliable
now why would the % undercut help?
because it would give a fairer price and it would remove the fear of being the first ( not all but some) it also makes a nice marketplace. because we would get more space between each layer ill show you:
without % undercut limitation:
1 at 1.0000g
1 at 0.9999g
1 at 0.9998g
1 at 0.9997g
1 at 0.7000g
1 at 0.6999g
same bids WITH % limitation
4 at 1g
2 at 0.7g
with this system its clearly easier to watch the market and make your decision if you should undercut or match price. there have to be a reason why we can see the lowest prices / offers. and thats because they want us to use that information. but not when selling items for some reason :S but that’s another thread for sometimes in the future.
ask yourself this: would u let some1 him go before you in the line in the store if he payed you for 1 cent. no of course not your time is more valuable than that. but you cant turn him down. because it IS a profit. actually its worse, the store get the cent. but u still cant turn him down for some kitten reason. he/she is cute or smthn.
TL;DR
1c is. not. a. price increase/decrease when we are dealing with expensive things. end of story finito. if you disagree read^if not, good.
Lol what? If you don’t like the price of them then go farm them instead of playing with the give me give me give me mentality. This is completely pointless and stupid to complain about the cost of a RARE MATERIAL. You don’t have to buy EVERYTHING you need. Go FARM! They drop plenty.
he dosen’t have a “give me give me give me” mentality. but i get your point. yes it is a rare material and it should be. but there is a problem with the supply. there is waay to little supply and it is very hard to farm it. correct me if i’m wrong but lodestones can only be dropped from captured altars in orr and from the fractals and the droprates are fairly small in the fractals because it have the rest of the lodestones to “share” drops with.
in my world, if 2 things have equal chance of droping in the same area. then it is intended that they should be worth around the same price if they have the same uses. witch they do(cosmetics). sure they have different skins but different people likes different things.
:edit:
well i was wrong about the farming spots but the argument is the same its harder to farm them, compared with the rest of the lodestones.
(edited by Waraxx.4286)
You already need about 1 million karma – depending on your luck forging clovers.
You also need, at an absolute minimum, 100g to buy Icy Runestones, 200 skill points for a shard and skill points to get crystals while making clovers.
You already need a gift from a specific dungeon.
Beyond that, the other materials can be acquired in various ways – you can farm them, buy them or use some other mechanism in the game to acquire the wealth needed.
I respect your opinion, but I just don’t see what the problem is right now. The Greatswords are very popular despite the situation with charged lodestones – if they were easier to get, Sunrise and Twilight would be too common.
Everyone is going to have a different path to their legendary – for some it will be relatively easy, for others, excessively hard (we’ve all heard of the people who put hundreds or even thousands of weapons in the forge without a precursor).
I think it’s just fine as it it.
I’m sorry my post got lengthy, that wasn’t intended when i made the post. but you cant respect my opinion unless you’ve read my post.
and if you read it; I think u misunderstood me. ( or i misunderstood you)I don’t want the legendary to take less time to acquire. i’m just saying that the legendary should be aquired slightly differently ( more dungeon tokens and require less gold.) and 1000000 karma isn’t allot, of course its allot don’t take me wrong but not compared to how much gold that is required. and acquiring karma have only grown easier. considering that we now get karma from daily, monthly, dungeons, and soon even from fractals. we even get karma from the JP in the current event (on daily basis). but if you want a legendary to cost 1000g that’s ok. i just think its out of proportion. and the sunrise was just a example. i could have taken the knife or twilight. the only legendary that i now of that’s reasonably cheap is the bifrost (staff). why? because it doesn’t contain any lodestones, making it considerably cheaper. the most legendarys i think is around the 700-800g price ( gold only)
You seem to miss my point entirely.
Swing and a miss, Gilly.
If I could farm Charged Lodestones like I could any other, I would. However, you can’t. That’s why the price is out of wack.
Correction you CANNOT reasonably farm the other lodestones. I know people will talk about earth elementals for Onyx and stuff like that but ALL Lodestones do NOT have a set Drop% You could farm Earth elementals for Onyx for 1 hour and get 1, the next day you could farm for 10 hours and get 0, Because the drop rate is not SET. if it was say 1% you would see 1 every 100 kills. this is NOT the case, Lodestones are on a drop rate that that is way more complex. Imagine a dice roll from 1-5000. anytime 3567 is rolled an onyx lodestone will drop. THATS HOW STUPID this system is. It is nothing like any other MMO.
We are used to WoW and EQ where they say you need this list of items and it takes awhile to get them. Well Anet does RNG so it could quite possibly take you FOREVER to farm what you want. They expect you to have to buy some of the mats from others who have been lucky. or buy GEMS to sell for gold to get part of your items. This is now becoming known to the players and I think we can expect a massive downfall in this game like we say in SWTOR because of bad design and a refusal to change and apply fixes in time.
that post gave me cancer.
jokes aside. all MMO’s uses RNG, ALL. its been essential in games for as long as games existed. Hell, even Tetris the first game ever made was based on a RNG. I don’t know how u learned math but where i live 1% means that a certain event happens 1 out of 100 times on average and not that after 99 tries it happens. what you described with the dice was a 1/5000 chance (0.02%) and just the chance is smaller doesn’t mean its more complex system.
I did not make this post to humiliate you. but you need to check your facts when posting things. i might have misunderstood your post and if that is the case please disregard my response.
and ontopic. i think there is a problem that need to be issued and i think Anet is aware of the situation and i think they are working on it. we might see something in januari but if it isn’t in that patch we might have to wait a while for the “fix”.
@stridix U r too late to tell him he is too late.
when someone makes a question thread it usual get answered in the first few posts.so read like the 2 or 3 first posts then you can make the decision if your answer brings something to the topic. just a tip ;P
Legendary requires only one thing: time. as with everything else with this game or even life. so, how much time do you need to get a legendary? well, allot. which is good. legendary should be rare, incredibly rare. and maybe they should require as much time as they require now. I’m not the one deciding how much time a legendary require, that’s was Anet does. I want the legendary to be HARD to get. as in very very time consuming.
However this time can be split up in different parts: the time it takes to get all the Gold, karma, badges, tokens etc etc that is required. and if you make and estimate how much time each part takes to complete u clearly see that gold takes probably … 25-75% of all that time. but sure, you make gold in this game no matter what you do right? sure, but the gold/h in wvwvw isn’t very high or when u make 100% map exploration and so on. so even if you do ALL the things in a legendary except for the gold part you would still have to spend another 0 – 100% (of the time already spent) more time on pure goldfarming. and when i mean gold i mean everything that can be bought for gold ( ecto , lodestones , runic stones, T6 vials of blood etc) because if you are building a legendary from everything that drops for you, you lose the gold that you could have had if you sold it.
Basically what i am saying is that the gold part in the legendarys is overproportional why not push more of the time into karma? why does the gold have to play such a huge role in some legendarys ( some legendarys have the right proportion.) but most of the good ones like sword , greatswords , axe , hammer, staff, knife, bow , short bow , (shield?). the gold part is huge. the cost to make the sunrise ( one of the most expensive) you will need almost 1000g or maybe even more ( i did some fast math 450 for the prec , 350 for the lodestones, 100 for runicstones, and then some for ecto and other T6 mats). 1000g ? wait what? 1000? in the most efficient gold farming that’s at least 350 – 500h … sure u might get 200-300g from things u find yourself and gold u get from just playing the game. that’s still 700 or 800g to go … wow. compare this with the time it takes to get the tokens of dungeon:
easy math: u need 500, u can do each run in about 45min u can do 3 (4) runs per day. thing is done after a few days and only a few hours of gameplay. why dosent the legendary require more tokens? u might say well then it turns into grind. and sure i can agree with that but that can be fixed with having multiple dungeons gifts required. like 3 or 4. then it would require some time. or why not all 8 ? …then it would be an accomplishment. like they said it would be ?
basically what do Anet need to do to balance the price on legendarys?
quadruple the drop rates of predececors or whatever to bring down the prices on predecesors. yes it a huuuge change and it would make allot of ppl angry.but just temporarily, they can decrease the drop rates once they have the scavenger hunt out ( witch i pray to god it comes soon, and that its good/hard)
bring down charged lodestones to where all the other lodestones are. or decrease the amount of lodestones required on all or some legendarys.
if you want the legendary to costs ALOT of gold. please do that with the runic stones there entire purpose is to modify the price on legendarys. increasing their price would also make more legendarily costs more equally.
increase the karma requirement or/and the requirement of playing the fractals. becaus they both lead to the same obsidian stone.
more dungeon requirements. 500 tokens from one dungeon? is that your definition of epic? dungeons is the most challenging pve content in the game and u have that have the smallest impact of legendary ?? it should be 300-500 tokens from 3-8 dungeon
or even more basically what anet need to do: increase the required time playing the game and decrease the required time playing the TP or having very much luck ( getting a predececor droped). because almost all legendarys have some form of playing with the TP. (speculation) and if there is anyone out there that have gathered all parts yourself and not bought anything from the tp, you are lucky as hell but you. are. awsome.
thats it. now up to the forum and the players of GW2 to decide if they are happy with the way it is now or if they would like to something similar or something completly diffrent. maybe you want legendarys to be removed. please express yourself Id like to know. after all ultimately its the gamers that makes the game and id like to now what people im playing with.
ty for your time and sorry for all errors.
TL;DR
to much of the time spent to make a legendary is spent on acquire the amount of gold required. and something should be done. also comment if you are happy with the way legendarys are or something that could be improved.
Hey guys, I created this video w/ my thoughts. It’s a bit long (12:44), but any feedback would be appreciated.
I’m not sure what you are saying with this video.
Use http://www.gw2db.com/items/70842-scythe-staff-skinI don’t like it. I’ve even seen it in action and it still forms another scythe above the skin scythe… not good looking, imo.
idd, that skin is very dull. the scythe animation doesn’t even line up with the skin <.<
A: u really should’t trade a legendary for anything but another legendary… really no point, sure its your choice i’m just saying that the price of a legendary is atleast 900 gold for the most expensive once and around 600 for some of the cheaper one and that is only in gold price. meaning that karma isnt included, map completion etc etc.
B: Final Rest IS in the game but only as pvp content, and as u showed in the video you allready knew it was in the pvp contet. but it isn’t in the PvE contet ( as far as I am aware here is the wiki for it if you didnt have it allready http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Final_Rest)
now, it says on the wiki that it is rumored to be only drop from a chest and not craftable. if this was true, we would have herd of it by now. considering that 1000s of predecessors have droped ( even excluding the kraka event) I think that we can safely say that this skin does not exist in the pve realm.
if u dont know what to do after you have “finished the game” id recoment saving up the gold u earn because by the time u have aquired enough gold to make a legendary there might be a few new legendarys possibly legendary amours or we might see a new weapon type ( might be scepter, it was in gw1 so it could possibly making a comeback in gw2) and if there is a new weapon-type there will be a legendary for it. and i cant turn down a legendary scythe witch is bound to be in a necromancy theme due to the lack of necromancy themes in the current legendary skinns. pure speculations though. but we havent seen all from the legendary aspect i’m sure of it.
Happy hunting

spiked when everybody got it. might have a some delay when the rest of the ppl loggin but most likely its to late. if u find it to be profitable then keep doing it
no it dosen’t work with the minis u get from 350 gems or the frames.
it can only be done with the 3 minis ( any combination) from the mystery box from gemstore.
here you go http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Foostivoo_the_Merry
Hi.
I was in the mood of writing some feedback to Anet, because i know Anet loooove feedback. Everything that I say is MY opinions, you cant change it. But a few of the things here have already been mentioned here on the forum so i will only mention them and then continue.
I will try and cover as much as i can and that i feel that i can give feedback on.
The dungeons:
they were good. i liked them. ALOT actually. nothing here to say other than that. ( however u might wanna use more then 3 or 4 quotes from the main character in a dungeon that you run 5 timesor so. Enough with “brain hurricanes” and “brilliant toy ideas”.)
snowball fighting:
all winters day events needs some proper snowball fighting. and this was very well done. the classes was very unique and felt really distinct from each other. the V-shaped map was a good choice for a capture-the-object game. nice map overall. However there was one minor fallback. actually two but lets start with the one.the gift respawn timer was to **** low [insert meme here]. basically 80% of my games looked like this:
Both team rushes to the gift, the team with the first scout there gets the first present.
after that points the teams takes turn in scoring the gift because the gift have a … 20 sec respawntimer? i dont know the exact time but its low. therefore the team that just scored will be 1 less at the gift respawn location therefore giving favor to the enemy team and the teams takes turns.
I cant say all games is like this but allot are and that’s why i stopped playing it. Sure I had some pretty epic moment when we took the present 1m from the collector but that was only because the one holding the gift ran the long way around <.<. anyway. quickfix: spawn gift 1 or 1.5 min into game and make the respawn like 1 min. maybe even ad a notification like " the gift will respawn in 10 seconds". Yes i know, it isn’t a super competitive game. but its a small change that would make a big difference. and I would think it to be way more fun.
guitar he..erhm the Bell Choir activity:
awesome. its a great activity. its the thing iv’e been doing the most. however i feel it is missing 2 things:
1: a “hit-the-button-here-mark”. it took me a while to get where you were supposed to press the button. and I’ve helped out a ton of ppl who didnt figure it out before they cared to ask for help.
2: a background beat. maybe there is, but i cant hear it. but there isn’t allot of harmony between me and the other two guys playing. sometimes, but not very often. this can be partly fixed with fixing the first problem
the jumping puzzle:
the jumping puzzle was good, and its up to yourself to judge if it was to easy. ( or to hard?) my opinion: it was to easy, I made it on the 4th or 5th try i think and a few of my friends made it in 4, 3 or even 2 tries.but to be honest. Anet did the right thing. but they kinda overdid it. the clocktower was dificult because it was at least 1 norn/char max size right next to you blocking your view AND it was kinda hard, I was there for 2h before completing it. but tbh i’d rather see a to easy puzzle then a to hard one, due to that its a limited time event.
gem store:
I wont comment on any prices. however i will comment on the mini-pets situation( i’m a collector)lets sum it up:
you can make 2 pets yourself from things you got from the dungeon. the other 3 you have to buy for 350gems ea. this is ok, I guess.
the only way to get the 3 (4) other pets are from the mystery box. witch costs 100/80gems ea. and then u have a CHANCE to get what you want. i mean the pets are the only reason why you would buy the box.( and possibly the hat aswell). I mean everything u get from that box you can buy from the TP for less than 5s except from the pets, they are account-bound for some reason :S. this have already been brought up on the forum so ill leave it at that. ( here is the link, https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/wintersday/Solutions-to-the-mini-pet-issue i like the 1st and the 2nd solution, the 3rd is kinda weird)
that’s pretty much it. thank you for reading if you managed to get through it all, and sorry for all gramatic / spelling wrongs i did. English is my 2nd language ( hopefully chrome helped me out some)
why do you even bother making this thread ? there is already a huuuge thread up on this topic. also you should pay more attention to what A-net is saying ( aka look in on announcement forum thread)
here you go https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/news/A-message-from-our-Studio-Design-Director-Chris-Whiteside
of course im against gear treadmill. and i dont think anet will make one either
made it to the 10c now … lets see if it can push even further … this is ridiculous.
and what are you sorry about?
well the price on blacklion chests just went up to about 9c from 5c earlyer this day … accoringly to GW2spidy (http://www.gw2spidy.com/item/20316) so there might be something to it.
I don’t think A-net have changed there mind about anything because of a few QQ-treads on the forum. I think they are doing this because it didn’t turn out as they intended. atm the gold required is the major concern when making a legendary. 500+g / legendary ( not all are this expensive but i think we can agree with that the most are). 500g+ is by far the hardest thing to make time-wise. lets make a approximation of how much the different parts takes in hours of playtime.
Gold: well its a tough one caus alot of legendarys costs a lot diffrent, Ill just take the one im aiming for: sunrise, yes its one of the most costy one but not the most expensive one. even in an understatement its atleast 600g gold. that represent about 300h of pure farming orr.
Karma: on average 1million is required give or take 200k. because the most efficent gold-farming method ( that i know of) also produce some karma this should’t be much of a problem.
Badges of honor: I have no idea of how long time this takes. but completing a jumping puzzle a day or two so should get you there rather time efficient i think. Idk, 50 – 100h ?! someone thats actually done it can fill me in here. also i think this is the most un-grindy-ness in the making of a legendary because you could do it while just having fun in wvw ( if you like wvw that is)
100% map completion: no idea, haven’t done it yet. 100h after that that you have reached lvl 80 perhaps. then most ppl have less than 70% of the map left i think. pure gues though. someone who have done it could fill me in here. ( note that this only have to be done once per couple of legendary)
Tokens: by far the easiest one ( I only had to run AC a few times, might be diffrent with legendarys requiring gift of zhitan) 500/60 = 9 times
so around 15h if you are unlucky and fails a few times. and at best like … what? 5h? if you are in a good group. this could be done in 3 days! with under 2h of effort per day.
sp: unless you waste all of your points that you aquire when you level up while farming gold this one is allready done. after copleting the map you should have atleast 300sp and around 200 is spent on skills. leaving you with around 100sp after map completion. if you start from 0 this might be the most time consuming. but becaus alot of ppl start with some already its not a major problem for the most
conclution
gold: 300h ( most likely allot more because most ppl are not hardcore farming orr at 2g/h)
karma : done while farming gold
badges of honor: 100h ?! correction?
100% map compl: 100h ?! correction?
tokens: around 12h … lol
skill points: should be done after farming and map completion.
as you can see : gold is the limiting factor .. not the karma nor the skill-points. And I think A-net wanted those to play an somewhat equal role. anyway thats what i think A-net wanted in the first place. so the changes that are being made are not because they want more ppl to have legendary than they originally thought. It just isn’t working as intended.
thats my thoughts anyway.
Bots mainly farm materials.
They always take the lowest listening in order to make their materials money.
Impatient people tend to underbid prizes in order to make fast money.
In the long run, whenever those two will meet , the prize will go down.
It’ll end when either all bots are banned, or people won’t underbid bots anymore since farming materials for money just isn’t worth it.Bots are a perversion.
They need no break, no sleep and work 24/7.
They simply flood the market.
( => Sell more than non-virtual-people can buy)
Microeconomics says you’ve got to match the market price, else people won’t buy from you. There’s our vicious circle downwards.
———————————————————————————————————————-
We need an intervention by Anet.
While a state influencing the market most often is bad for economics in real life,
in GW2 there has to be a “balance-weight” to the bots to remain market status quo and a healthy economy.
I repeat: bots are a perversion which doesn’t exist in real life.
Offer=demand doesn’t apply to a market flooded by bots.
It’s like 24/7-working units who don’t need rest and work for less than minimum-vague forever.
Players simply can’t compete with that.
——————————————————————————
One could say it’s a matter of opportunity cost:
Players will farm materials as long as they get more money by it than farming events.
Since bots make the material prizes drop more and more people will stop gathering materials.
A normal market would balance itself, there would be more offer than demand.
Sadly bots can handle nearly the whole offer-section on their own.
So “player-demand” in the end will equal “bot-offer”.
I could’t agree more. the bots are a serious issue and MUST be dealt with. and if we are to have bots in the game A-net might just have to go in and do something in the tp. however, please note that Anet is doing some serious stuff about botters. a few days ago this forum got quite a few threads like “T5/T6/ecto prices are spiking. why ?” and A-net went in and said that they had banned some bots. And before that people could only hope that they would do something against botting, but now we can see results from it. meaning that we will see a almost-bot-free game in the future.
And please stay on topic. this problem are mainly for things that are not farma-ble. like weapons. the -1c undercut isn’t a problem for materials because they are being bought / sold in mass-quantities.
Q: what is the value of a Item in a free market?
A: whatever that someone is willing to pay for it. not more nor less.
that concept is quite easy to understand. And if nobody is buying something at a certain price that mean that nobody want it at that price therefore the prices must drop or the value of the item must increase otherwise nobody is going to buy it… ever. what you an witness in that picture is the price dropping. If the value of the item is higher than the price of it then the things will get sold eventually and stabilize after a while.
however, sometimes the price of something might be below/above the value of the item. in these situation if new sellers/buyers would like to sell/buy something they sell/buy the item (possibly a long way from the real value)without them knowing that the price is below/above the value and therefore losing money. and those who know the value of the item makes money. this is bad because it discourage casual gaming, and so far gw2 in pve is a very casual game. and i think that is what the Anet want.
If you followed my discussion you can see that both situation ( market moving to fast / market moving to slow) is the same essential problem: the market moving in the wrong speed. therefore both of them are a problem on none of them are. and i believe both is a problem. but you cant do anything to stop the market moving to fast. cause we cant put up limitation of how much one can undercut. but we can set limitation to how little one can undercut with.
This is yet another “omg prices droped/increased thus there must have been manipulation involved” No, there have been no “manipulation”. I’m 95% sure of it. and if there was any manipulation being made it was when the priced droped. these weapons are worth alot of money. maybe not as much as foefire weapons and other extremely rare weapons. but they are probably 100g+ and rising as the prices on lodestones rise. im surprised that they went as low as 18g but i suppose that the supply was way above the demand at that point. I bought a few of them then because i knew that the supply would become 0 until we hit the price of crafting it or the next halloween. And the price is only going to rise. money being made.
and if there was tampering being done with the pricing on these weapons. it would’t have been as smooth as the numbers say. If there was tampering there would have been a spike in the cost witch there is not.
Why can't certain classes use different armor types, for appearance?

I think this is linked to the immersion of the game. and that’s their call tbh. nomatter how much i want my elementalist to wear something that actually cover the entire body (i’m doing my best, and so far i’ve gotten to like the duelist armour even though the head wear is stupid)
but it all come down to what they want the game to be like, If they don’t want warriors in light armor then why stop them? And so far I feel that they are trying to create as big of an immersion as possible in the pve section. and if they dont allow it in pve then its breaking the immersion if they alow it in pvp…
just my 2 coppar though. Happy Halloween!!
as you mention the mystic toilet is basically this. and this game have one of the best gold sinks out there and more isn’t really needed. but it would be cool with a future where you could winn money that others have spent on the chanse. so you dont have to sell the item in order to claim the winnings. however this is probably waaaay down the pipe if they will ever make it happen because, well its gamble in its purest from( well, close enough). and certain country’s have regulations against gambeling below a certain age. and tp is well, less of “pure gamble” becaus you can actually do it and get something that you will use directly. therefore less of a gamble. but that’s just my though about it. also i think that if they hide the gamble more will gamble becaus they think it evens up. but well, if it did then the prdececors would have to be alot more expensive.
Yes, create a topic that’s called off topic. I don’t require it, I just suggest to open one.
No matter how much we love this game. we cant play it all the time ( for some, maybe but certainly not for me) I will always have my LoL friends at LoL wanting to play a game every now and then, and we all love mincraft. Not to mention random YouTube clips that fellow GW-players want to show for each other.
Not to mention that almost all forums that i know of have some topic that have no relation to the game whatsoever except for the people that are there.
I usually don’t use these type of topics a lot but here i really miss it. what if i want to find a few people to play lol with or just show of something that I found on YouTube.
And it might just get a few more people active in the forum.Normaly I usualy try to keep away from the argument “this iz really eazy , just do zxy and your done. lolz”But creating a topic cant be hard to do. the only reason why its not there it’s because they don’t want it (or haven’t had the thought of creating one). But it cant hurt with a “off-topic” forum topic right? … its not like its going to give some dramatic change. Let there be a WoW topic there if someone want to do one. (I’m no WoW player). this might make them feel a bit more “home” but idk. but i know that if there is a lol thread ill use it, not to discuse lol , but to find people who play lol and gw2.
Anet, I hope you take my suggestion into consideration ( if you already haven’t considerd this)
Happy Halloween!
:edit:
I mean a new sub-forum. but it i think you get it anyway.
(edited by Waraxx.4286)
yeah i that’s the reason.
I agree with you, all companies have it (as far as i’m aware) and I they don’t feel that they need the money. as of this day there is no reason why i should buy for more than 10euro.
while this tecnicue encourage the “casual player” becaus you can buy the lowest amount but still feel that you getthe same money as anyone else.
but idk… Its just wierd they dont have it. all have it even lol and other games that relies on micro trans.
I bought it when i was lvl 50 on my main character. and i have no problem whatsoever in using it. ocourse i cant say anything for lvl 80 bt i cant see why you shouldnt be able to use it.
I bought it mainly to support Anet developing sutch a awsome game, and for rytlock. but sololey buying it for the elit skill? no. not worth it. Its not a very usefull skill, except for the fact that you look and feel awsome.( this is my opinion) and i only use it on my ranger because i feel it fits in his theme ( norn ranger) however on my elementalist i don’t see it to fit the theme , so I just roll the normal elites.
I dont know how well it is in pvp ( i doubt you can use it in spvp) and all summons pretty much useless in wvw because they are to vulnerable they also tend to have a bad Cd.
for me it was worth it because of the combination of things you received and the knowing of that i support Anet. ( I also like the feeling of having everything in the game) but i bought it when gems were super cheap.
If you know someone with it, ask them if you could give it a try.
although I’ve done some of the numbers and drawn the same conclusion as you on these things. I don’t think they will review the prices until they see a stable market at witch point they will start making soft adjustments over time rather than making one huge change witch probably would destabilize the market. so don’t expect to see anything done with the gems prices the next 2-months as we are still in the initial phase of the game where the market is stabilizing. wait until you stop see the gemprice / gold stop rising and then do the math, because that what they are aiming on.
but as it is now I agree with you but if they adjust the prices now, it wouldn’t take long before they would need to make new prices.
yepp, you got me agian … i forgot that the listing fee wasnt 1c / unit when they all bunch up. so once again you are right.
but would’t the formula v/0.85 +1c be more accurate ? Sure, it would’t work 100% of the times but it would work as long as the price of the unit is larger than about 20c ( idk for sure i wont bother calculate the exact price right now).
even though this topic was created mainly around the principle I think that we can theorize about a fitting % just so that people get a sense of what numbers we are looking at, and I think that 5% is to much. demanding an undercut of 5s when the item is worth 1g is quite alot considering that the difference between orders and sell orders are between 10 – 25% so having a 1s step at 1g price i think should be more resonable. meaning that we are looking at a 1% difference. this would alow the market to fluctuate more and allowing undercut closer to the real value. consider this:
-the smaller the undercuts are the smaller the possible difference is between the real price and the current price.
-the bigger the undercuts are the faster will it move towards this “real value”.
so the balancing is to find a sweet spot in between that could fit for the majority of all the items. And I think this sweet spot is somewhere around 1%
possibly even as low as 0,5% but i don’t think it should’t go lower.
having the % so low will allow everything below 1 or 2s to be undercut with 1c witch is where i think is where the most mats start selling at. there is a few exceptions such as blood, orichalcum and ectos. all the rest will not be effected by this ( i might have forgot something more).
so im not looking at a perticular big number just not as small as it is now where it is below .01% in some cases.
I hope you see my reasoning with picking such a small number as 1%. and if we would accept that this is the % to go with then every undercut at 1g prices would need to be around 1s with a decreasing number of course.
However this type of system brings a few problems… ill give it in exampels i think its easier to explain and see the problem then.
(undercutt need to be over 1%)
sell orders:
1g
0,99g
0,98g
0,97g
0,95g
now im going to go ahead and sell an item like this but i think that 0,95g is a to low price. so ill go ahead and price it just below the 0,97g sell order because the system only restrict me from undercutting the lowest seller and not all.
this could be fixed by creating “forbidden-zones” so if someone sets a price att 1g nobody else is ever going to be able put a price between 1/0.99 and 1*0.99 until all the things at 1g have been sold at witch point these prices opens up again.
this in turn could cause bigger “forbidden zones” then designed ie
Person A put out at the price 1g and then person B put out at the price 0g 98s 2c
this would actually force people to choose between undercutting the 1g price with almost 2% or not undercutting at all. and almost 2% is approximatly 100% bigger then intended.
at witch point we would have make it .5% in order to make sure that the “forbidden-zones” isn’t bigger than 1%.
that or there is a ton of preset prices that one can list at. But i don’t think this is a very good option. I cant explain why i don’t think its a good option though its just my feeling so if someone have an argument that speaks for a list of preset prices please share those with us.
so in the end of the day we are looking at a 0,5% undercut limit . witch isn’t a hole much! its actually very little but that’s all i suggest. And i think it would bring a great deal to both sell orders and buy orders but as i mention before buy orders isnt as inportant as the sell orders.
It would be great having a Red post here just to let us know if this is something they are discussing/ already have discussed. But I know that one does not simply demand an red post on their thread.
cheers! (and yet another wall of text sorry baout that)
yes, you are right nephlm. it becomes quite weird on very low numbers. but even then it makes even less sense that the floor is at v+1c … if we use your example with an item worth 1c at vendors. then the placing price would be 1c and then the profit would be between 0 – 0,9*x (where x is the amount of items you listed) not even giving the chance of having a gain.
if we use the v/0,85 + 1c then we would atleas maybe make a profit of it . ( the profit would be somewhere between 0 – (1,7*x*0,85) ( where x is amount of item listed)
yes, profit isn’t guarantied. the only way to be 100% sure to make proffit it is to make it v/.085 +3c at witch point it would also work on very small values.
His replay is useless because he brings up something that we already have brought up. see my reply to targren (my first reply). if he want to bring it up again he have to add more to this argument or make an counter argument. as far as i see “It only bothers people who are trying to sell stuff for more than its worth.” doesn’t fulfill any of these things. If he doesn’t agree with what i wrote to targren then he have to explain why he disagrees.I could explain everything again but i don’t see why i have to put up walls and walls of text explaining the things in every possible way.
“Increasing the buying power of gems (give us more for our money or make things cheaper) will increase their value for gold without hurting the people buying them for gold”
I think that this is the reason to why i misunderstood your post. I’m sorry for the misunderstanding. I think it was this in a mix with some of the posts thereafter that i must have missunderstood. and now i understand, and tyour solution would indeed make money worth more itemwize but not goldwise. and i think that is what you were trying to acomplish.
anyway, agian, sorry
Lack of holy trinity makes that high boss HP is the only way to add challenge
Posted by: Waraxx.4286
I’ve not played wow, unless you count 10 days free trail to level 20 is playing wow. aside from that and barely playing GW1 this is my first “real” MMORPG. I think I aggree with you to some degree. I know that arenanets philosophy is to make every group comp doable. But it gets easier the better comp you have. Now they say they have killed the holy trinity, witch I consider they have done, however they dont have to allow every comp, i mean if you run 4 eles and 1 thief you should not be able to make the dungeon. I think like you that the dungeons should have a few requriments like you say, in your example where we would have to deal with condisions this could be managed by a necromancer or a elementalist. both have good mass condition removers, if speced correctly.
this would make a dungeon rely more on team composition aswell on how well a team play together. witch would make the dungeon harder but this could be compensated with greater reward.
Nevertheless, i think that Anet all ready have considered this and that they will change it how they think it should be played, remember we are looking at a completely new game but far from a complete product.
as i understand and accordingly to the wiki , all named armor sets looks the same no matter what name it have, they all look the same as all the other named one in that armor class. witch i think is rather boring considering that the only difference is the name. and sense the name is only displayed to you it doesn’t really bring any prestige, witch i think it should. i mean they could have the same look as the duelist, just give us something that prooves for other players that i have the entire set ie :
buffname: Koss’ spirit.
buff explanation; this heroic champion have gathered all the pieces of the legendary warrior Koss who fought beside Kormir to free the world from nightfall.
or something in that style , that would be AWSOME!!!. and people who love gw1 would actually be rewarded for getting this.
not the exact thing to maybe but just something… an achievement perhaps? (maybe already exists though)
The players don’t set the price of gems directly. What you are describing assumes that gems would be exchanged in a free market system and this is not the case. Even after exchange for gems to gold would equalize and become lower over time (This is an assumption because we don’t completely understand the mechanics behind their exchange) it would still be more realistic to buy things from the cash shop with real money, which I am sure Arenanet wants instead of the current situation where everyone just buys gems with gold.
Before you call my suggestion flawed make sure you understand more than 1/4 of it.
The title says money has weak buying power, that is the point and its not flawed in the least.
As you describe your solution I think i understand it perfectly well thank you. why exactly do you think reducing the prices on the gemstore would increase the buypower of gems? the items would still cost the same amount of gold ( traded gold to gems ) but the things would only be cheaper, witch is not making it have a bigger buyvalue. if you lower all the prices with 50 % in the gemstore would only make the price g/100g become 50% lower. yes people would get 50% more stuff because things were cheaper but this does not increase the value of gems compared to gold. if you want to artificially change the value of gems then you have to change the ratio of taxes as I said, otherwise its only based on how much gems are being bought and how much is being sold.
please explain your solution, if you still think that I don’t understand it.
And yes i know that the gems / gold converter is not a 100% free market i think its mainly based around It. This they take up in another thread “who sets the gem prices” if I’m not wrong.
1.176 do take into account for the 15% of taxes they take. and here is proof
1,15 * 0,85 = 0,9775
1.176 * 0.85 = 1
you can test this with your calculator and see that it’s correct.
I would also like to adjust the formula to this:
([venodor value] +1) * 1,176 = the lowest possible price

that’s good for you. What you are doing I want more people to be doing, undercutting the price or not doing it at all. maybe not by as much as you do (as i understand you undercut with a quite large chunk)
@zerospin
I’m not quite sure if I understand your post but I think that there exist an fictional price and it changes depending on supply/demand. however this thread is not about this so i wont argue with this.
Also I want everybody to know that I do not mind the way it is now, actually I’m am making a few coins because the price of some items move slowly. Don’t ask me how. I’m trying to be as neutral to the problem I possibly can but so far I can only find one counter argument to what I’ve been arguing and that is this:
It’s hard to actually implement such a system into the TP, because of [Insert reasoning here].
This is the only counter argument I can find to myself, but so far nobody have said why this would’t work, or why it can’t be used. Please prove me wrong so that we can have this done with.

1 cent under cutting is NOT a problem.
It only bothers people who are trying to sell stuff for more than its worth.
this is probably the most useless post after the “1 cent under cutting is NOT a problem” you could possibly create, congratulations!
please don’t return to this topic unless you have something useful to add.
That’s how it works right now, however there is a few “below vendor value” orders left from people that have ordered before this was taken into place.
:edit: Ah man ninjad by John Smith himself.
however, i think its possible to place/fill an order that is under [vendor price] * 1,176, witch is just stupid becaus the seller still looses money on it. ( 1.176 * .85 = 1)
so in order for the seller to earn money the lowest price should be [vendorprice] * 1,176.
however this might allready be in place, im not sure.

I’m no economics by no mean , but would’t lowering prices at tp just equal to lowering prices for gems (IRL money —→ gems ) and therefore devaluing gems. Witch would lead to making gems less expensive because one doesn’t need as much gems to buy the item they plan on buying? or am i wrong?
And yes the value of gems are quite crappy right now, but that’s because the demand of golf is quite high right now, you know people want to get there swings maxed out. But then when people start to feel that they are finished with there gear they will start spending the coins on gems and ther fore making the gem price go up and making it more valuable.
Also, IF they would like to increase the value of gems in compared to gold they would need to increase the taxes when people buy gems. ie:
before the value increase:
gold —→ gems
give 1,176g to recive 100gems // 15% tax (efficient trade is 1g to 100gems)
gems —-→ gold
give 100gems to recive 0.85g // 15% tax ( efficient trade is 100gems to 1 gold)
after value increase:
gold —→ gems
give 1,25g to recive 100gems // 20% tax (efficient trade is 1g to 100gems )
gems —-→ gold
give 100gems to recive 0,9g // 10% tax ( efficient trade is 1g to 111gems)
yes the overall tax is changed but I’m sure that can be fixed with better numbers. that’s the only thing they can do to make gems more valuable. however, I’m 99.999999% sure that they know this and that they will tweek the number if they feel its needed. u don’t need to come to the forum and suggest flawed suggestions. I’m not saying that mine will do the trick but I’m quite sure yours won’t.
