if you want to join those groups just buy all berz/ruby and they’ll accept you, i’ve never run a “all max berz”- run even though i have a warrior in max berz, i just dont find it fun. i much rather run fotm.
same goes with staffs – scepters and bows. so it might just have been a miss. not saying that it is impossible that the forge bug out every now and then. once my friend put in 4 random and got back nothing. but that was waay back.

I’m not quite sure of what you meant with your post… but anyway. i saw your earlier post and that sounds like a horror movie. I’ve never had any problems with my passwords. I have however received a loggin attempt from china. (note; I live in sweden). so i realized that my password has been compromised and i have now changed passwords everywhere. Anets info and dedication have improved my internet security as a whole and that alone is worth the money I gave for this game. I didn’t know this info about the hackers until i read that blogg post. +1 for Anet.
I was saved because of the authentication system. but other people might not be so lucky.

can people stop being a bunch of [insert appropriate word]? how can changing a password be so kitten difficult? just changing your password instead of whining about it here will have it done before you’d have finished writing your post. if you have a super easy password to remember like “myhouseisred” and maybe even your address after. then change it to a equally easy password like “mybikeisblack”. (don’t use these passwords). it’s super easy to make a new password. and even if it wont help you it will help in general. maybe they save 100-1000 accounts from getting hacked this way. and changing your password to help those people is the least you can do.
don’t use that “check my password” website as very few hackers are trying to get to your password via brute force.

it’s only those who didn’t change their password after the blacklist introduction in September. so if you bought the game after that date. you don’t need to change it. as the account name/password the hackers got already made it to the blacklist.
and there has been no breach in A-nets database. if so, we would ALL get forced to change our password. use you common sense please.

I was wondering how you managed to do that as the lvl 80 exotic emerald orichalcum amulet of the knight and earrings of the knight dont have an upgrade slot? Well playing devils advocate, the reason why ascended items are not, or should not, be open for TP / trade is that it undercuts the exotic market.
Exotics sell for 2 gold primarily because they can be salvaged for ectos.
Even if ascended items could be salvaged for ectos they would inherently take the place of exotics on the market price point.
Exotics then would need to cost less to be attractive for those who want to equip those exotics, otherwise they would buy the ascended gear.My suggestion is make them have a different category of binding – “Cannot be sold or mailed” use of this will open up ascended gear to your guildies but not affect market what-so-ever. (I could be wrong in that a black market will support this)
this is the problem basically. because they have around 0 cost to make and alot of people are sitting on alot of them. then this would crash the market on rings. and would make exotic rings totally useless. and i’m afraid that a black market would occur if they could be traded between guilds.
the only thing that could be added is that you can salvage them. and from that get some fractal relics and maybe some ectos. not much. but at least something. the 5s is just so underwhelming.
i back er(rant) (vent)ure here. make them soul bound. like karma or something. having them accountbound makes some people (like me) sad because then we cant have max stats on all our alts :/ makes me not want to play my alts. is this what this game encourages then i’m out.

i loled, but sadly it’s also partly true as the eles great potential lies with great group cooperation. witch sadly isn’t the strong side in a PuG. but it haven’t stopped me from having alot of fun in fractal 25+

how do you know a class perform better than another class?
but overall as a single entity. no, not exactly. however, the strength in a ele is with the combination of other professions. i.e after having played a ele for 400h i know a eles power and how much she is buffing the party. my “dream group” will always contain with at least 1 ele but no more. just because of the utility a ele brings to the composition. but 2 eles makes it very hard to make sure the fields are used in the best way. that’s the difference between an ele and other proffesions.
If you play for 3 hours, that’s 6 30-minute buffs at about 40-50 silver per feast. Nobody makes 3 gold in 3 hours playing WvWvW. You’d be far better off spending that money on siege or keep upgrades in terms of utility. WvWvW is the only place you’re going to find more than 10 people standing around and paying attention to things like the fact that you placed a feast during the 5 minute window it’s available on the ground.
The only people spending any time or effort on giving their zergs feasts are those able/willing to kitten away their money.
i think you miss a very vital point i gave. “you don’t necessarily have to buy the highest tier of food. most food goes for under 1s and it’s pretty nice food.”. <10s for your entire guild is a pretty nice deal. and it doesn’t have to be up all the time. just before these vital keep/tower sieges.
sure it might have a very minor effect. but how would you like to have it?

as you might have noticed you have 10 trait points left and these can do good wherever you please.
2- the gear. maybe you don’t have the gold for it but here is what i would have done in a “gold free” world.
go knight gear with ruby jewels and divinity runes with battle sigil.
why?
- knight gear support your healing from your healing signet. and also provides with power and precision ( the best stats for dps) you could swap in some berzerker gear aswell if you feel comfortable with it.
- ruby is because no other jewel can challenge the 3% crit dmg it gives.
- divinity, no rune can match it’s dmg and those who are close are not nearly as useful as the divinity for a ele (we benefit from every stat point, keep that in mind).
- battle. if you dance for a bit this can easily give you 6 might stacks constantly. running fire for 10 seconds and then make a quick rotation on the other elements and then back to fire again will grant you its maximal effect.

Perhaps through two daggers, both having MF on them, as opposed to one staff having MF?
Sigils of luck do not stack so its only 3% more and youd have to be a savant to notice a difference in drops…

Given that you have a party that is willing to do odd levels. Could you not power level a guy using odd level fractals given this new feature? Skipping maw to save time. Or alternatively, just do evens to get the chest at maw? Cause that seems like the case, in which—-more evens for me.
yes both of those statements are correct. however the last level ( 9 , 19 , 29 etc) must still be completed on a odd number
i think people are going to ask for players that have a higher level than they are in order to be able to do maw and adding a level. because maw is where the real mother load is. rarely do i get nothing but crap from that chest. maw is da best. playing odd numbers atm just feels like you’ve been robbed from alot of gold once you’ve completed the 3 normal fractals. its just like a super mario bonus level, you can’t die and there is good loot.
it doesn’t cost that much. as you say it only costs 10 of the food in question to feed a potential unlimited amount of players. witch does become beneficial for the entire group as a whole. but this isn’t anythig for the “average” gamer. this content is for guild leaders/officers. and people that lead zergs in wvw. and that’s why the initial cost is so high. yes, the initial cost is absurdly high if you only plan on using it once or maybe a few times more. but if you plan on using it 5+ times per night or even more at the weekend then the initial cost really is nothing. sure you might argue that most people bring their own food, and while this is partly true. there is also alot of people who is the very casual. not bringing any food, not bringing the best wvw gear/trait setup. so the zerg as a whole is buffed from this food and it’s a really cheap investment. (you don’t necessarily have to buy the highes tier of food). most food goes for under 1s and it’s pretty nice food.
the reason why you cant trade it is because it would bring down and probably remove the initial cost, because we all know and love the way people craft and sell for “profit”

you could probably find this eslewhere with a bit of searching. but ill post it here
- first form a party ( use m-chat or lfg sites or call your friends or whatever) you should still include the level you are willing to play in the search. so for example if you only are interested in the pristine relic a search could look like this : “lfg/lfXm daily lvl10”
- now, enter the dungeon. any1 can do this, just like today. the one who enter chooses any level within the tier that the lowest player in the group have access to. just like today but now it will be tiers. so everybody in the group will have to be able to enter level 10 in order to enter level 1-19.
- complete the dungeon, (hopefully)
- everybody get the same award like they did before the patch. with a small difference. all players in the group that already have completed the level that the group just finished will get an amount of karma. and all players that haven’t will get +1 to their level. so a player that already have made fractal level 17. will receive karma when the dungeon is completed (if the level is <18) and not +1 to their level.
as I said. if you only play fractals for dailies then you won’t feel much of a difference.

Hi there, can someone please advise me as to how the fractal dailies are going to work with the new system?
I presume if i enter a tier 1 group (0-9) i will get the standard daily chest with extra fractal relics?
i presume i can then enter a tier 2 group (10-19 ) and do my daily for the chance at a ring?
I am just after clarification that for the old lvl 10 daily i just have to enter a tier 2 party doing any scale from 10-19 OR does this still have to be an EVEN numbered fractal?
Please dont tell me they have made the way of getting rings even worse, because i dont like what i’m hearing so far about this new system.

you still must kill jade maw in order to claim your daily reward. ( meaning even numbered fractal for daily is a must).
the only thing that this patch will help is advancement. if you only play fractals for the daily, you won’t feel much of a difference ( unless you play fractal 26-28 daily, then you might be up for some pain)

what determines the strength of certain things?
for burns, is condition damage given a boost by the initiator or the finisher?
for regen/heals, is the healing boosted by the initiator’s stats or the finisher’s stats?i.e. ele 1 is full clerics. ele 2 is full rabid
ele 1 does a fire field, ele 2 does a projectile finisher = burn for dmg based on ele 1 or 2?ele 1 does a water field, ele 2 does a projectile finisher
does the regen on ele 2 benefit from the healing power of ele 1?tyvm
it’s the finisher that determine what strength/duration the effect have.
however I’m not sure how the regen works. if it’s the one who finish or its the one who receive that deterministic the strength. the duration is however determined by the finisher. so in example 1 it’s the 2nd eles stats that are used. and im unsure in the 2nd example. in either case, the stats from the fields are never used.
also note that in example 2, the elementalist with the finisher is not the player that are granted the regeneration. it’s the players next to the target of his projectiles that are granted regeneration.

I don’t think that it’s necessary to reach high level fotm with pugs. if pugs could do, where would be the challenge? they shouldn’t make it to easy.
Pugs can easily do it until 20-25
now, I haven’t played that much. but in my experience fractal 22-29 is waaaaay easier than fractal lvl 16-20. I have run around 10 dailys at 26-28 fractal and I have yet to fail or even get my Armour damaged more than 4 points. and i think we all now why. because ppl actually know what they are doing at these levels ( mostly). sure, i’ve had a ret in my PuG a few times but the other 3 members makes up for it.
at below 29 ( i haven’t tried 30) you don’t have to be coordinated on a chat level if everybody knows what have to be done. one of the fastest and wipe free runs I’ve ever had we didn’t say anything in the chat apart from “r” in the swamp fractal and “gj , nice run” in the end. it was beautiful. If you feel you constantly get grouped with bad people above 22 you shouldn’t be there.
Only if it will be based on skill, not on dps races and gear-checks.
Cause else it’ll be “zerker warrior elitists!1” all over forums again.
the only reason we have the zerker warrior elitist is because the dungeon are to easy. if you go to a harder dungeon. say fotm, then going with a 5 zerker group with pugs is suicide.
if you make it a grind then undeniably there will be a grind. they can’t stop you from grinding if you truly want to do it. and if you don’t want to do it. don’t do it. simple. you can play the entire game on only greens and rare. not that exotics is hard to get but they are considerably more expensive then rares and greens.

- you pay a subscription in order to be able to play the game. and you need to play and grind the game a lot in order to be able to experience new content.
Gw2 ( idk if there is other games like GW2 but if thereis. those games aswell)
-you buy the game, you play it a littlebit so you get some basic gear and jadajada. and then you can play the entire game. with that gear. no gated content and no need to play the game or grind it. they have yet to release content only lvl 80s with max exotics can experience.
It seems that the droprate for vials is lower than for globs and shards. Which is strange really.
I had like 3 vials for going from 1 to 10 and then like 7 globs in 10-20.
On the other hand, some of people I ran fractals with told that they have like 15+ vials and don’t know what to do with them.
Well, party RNG is broken, it’s old news.
it’s very unlikely globs and vials and crystals have different drop chances. i’d say they are around the same drop chance.
however. i’ve noted a decrease of drops as i progress higher in the levels. im at 29 atm and i cant remember when i got one dropped for me last time. but I’m just unlucky maybe. ( not that i need them, but it would be cool to have for some alts in the future)
rain is enlarged but is also bugged… while the skill effect use the increased radius the field still use the non enlarged radius… so using a finisher in the outer part of the enlarged rain wil not proc a combo… this is a bug from beta that just like much of the ele bug is still to be adressed…
as for the usefulness of the trait… for offensive aoe it is reduced (but still has some utility expecially with lava font that as an original small area) but for support aoe like gyser it is a real blessing… the original area for this skil is really little and it’s short duration make it quite hard to land in an efficent way… also the increased area make using finisher inside it a lot easyer ^^
no, that skilled is even more buggy than that. even using a combo finisher inside the circle wont combo. you need to be around 75% in into the circle in order to get the blast. but the regen works on the intended area. meaning you can stand outside the circle and be granted the regen. it’s a very weird bugg.
I’m for this. but i don’t think it’s gonna happen, due to programming difficulties. but it would be an awesome feature.
i’d like to change the current way you acquire a legendary weapon this way:
- removing legendarys from the TP. why where they even there in the first place? it confuse me.
- the karma (or fractal relics) needed, should drastically be increased, at least 3x of 4x the current amount of karma ( or fractal relics.) but the amount of cloves should be unchanged. ( no need for more rng)
why? because karma is super easy to come by and there isn’t really a good karma sink in the game other than legendarys ( which people cant make due to the massive amounts of gold recquired). and you get karma from playing the game ( note, dailies and a monthly from one month gives you around 300k karma alone)
- the tokens and badges required shouldn’t be altered, however, there should be a new item ( call it “legtem” for now) which can only be bought using fractal relics , any type of dungeon tokens or badges of honor, make it a nice ratio or something.
why? because it’s acquired from playing the game and how good you are at it meaning that a good player will make a legendary quicker then a bad player and this i think should be encouraged. mindlessly farming orr won’t give you any skills other then dealing with boredom.
- removing precursors. yes it is a very drastic move but probably the most needed.
why? because precursors is a good idea, in theory, it puts a limit to the amount of legendarys that are being created. but what it actually creates, is a big kitten lottery. and tbh here, i like rng. i truly do, but only “good” rng. mystic cloves are an example of a “good” rng. there is a pretty big chance i’ll get what I’m aiming for (33%) AND i can get other things that make me even more happier but that i don’t really aim for, i.e lodestones. ( this is what makes it good). but when the rng is so bad. only a few % of the players will ever get a precursor dropped and it will most likely not be the precursor they wanted in the first place so they’ll just sell it on the tp thus all that matters is g/h in order to get your precursor as fast as possible. that rng is bad for the game and for the players. as it rewards luck to much.
and some might argue that the removal of the precursor will only make other materials rise in price because people now don’t have to buy a precursor thus they can afford other materials for the legendary. thus pushing the legendary to the same price. while this is partly true, it wont push the price to where it was before the precursor removal because of the amount of karma / legtem needed and thus the legendarys will now be more like " wow i finally have enough obsidian stones/legtems to get a legendary!". rather than the current “wow, i finally have enough gold to make a legendary!”
that’s my opinion anyway. it would probably make it overall harder to get and if you want a legendary you have to work for it.
the first vial i got was in lvl 9 … and then i also got my second in the same run. and that was after around 30-40 fractals perhaps. 40%mf from food also.
From Wikki: Blasting Staff only affects the following skills:
Lava Font: 50%
Ice Spike :25%
Geyser: 50%
Frozen Ground: 25%
Lightning Surge: 100%
Static Field: 33%
Eruption: 25%Im sure if you test the above you will see it works fine, and not
skills like Meteor Shower which it does not. When you test these
radius increases on target dummies in the mist, you will see that
its not an overwhelming difference. Lava Font and Static Field is nice,
but when they put a 5 target cap on AOE this trait should have
been across all staff AOE skills.As a staff user, I think the trait is overrated compared to what you
could get in its place.
i’m quite sure healing rain is also affected by it. the circle is just bugged. because even if u stand outside the circle you get the regeneration.
I tested it and Kelden is right: Zephyr’s Boon affects allies if you blast Ice Fields. Its a little tricky cause the description doesn’t says to who the boons are applied, “not area” frost armor (with leap finisher) wont work and even the wiki has a note which says “Powerful Aura will cause Zephyr’s Boon to apply fury and swiftness to allies” so one can think that that’s the only way that it can work with allies. It was my mistake for only reading and don’t testing it in the game. Ill try to update the wiki with this info so more eles can know more about what they can do.

So if I want to play 0/10/0/30/30 as support/dmg
- I pick Knight armor and put divinity runes on it.
- I use a Knight’s Staff aswell and put Sigill of Battle on it.
- For trinkets I use something with +healing power, precision and crit?

sounds good. this is pretty much my setup with a few changes, i go with:
-berz armour with divinty
-berz staff with battle
- 2 knights earrings and 1 amulet with ruby jewels
- back is berzerker with ruby jewels
-rings of lunari and solari ( divinity stats)
tbh i want to change to knights stats on my Armour and on my weapon but it so expensive xD. however. jewels should always be ruby because you get 1% crit dmg for 5 stat points witch is reeealy good.
in the future patch i will most likely upgrade my amulet to divinity stats as well. because i love it.
but your setup sounds really good as well. the difference is only minor and are to personal preferences. so i give a thumbs up for that gear setup :P (thumbs up)
No problem. It’s one of those mechanics that isn’t really intuitive. I wish Powerful Auras worked with Arcane Resurrection and Fire/Ice Field + Leap finisher aura combos.
If you’re not using your Elite skill for anything else, you could use the Ice Elemental from Glyph of Elements for an additional Ice Field and more AoE Frost Auras and fury + swiftness from Zephyr’s Boon (or protection, if you have Elemental Shielding).
yeah, i have tried this. but i’m running high fractals of the mist and there the pets die within the second i conjure them. only viable summons in high fractals are earth for tanking and air for some extra dmg. and even if it wouldn’t have been killed i find it far to unreliable and i have a hard time combo finish in it. so all in all i go with the GS in fractals for the dmg if i don’t need anything else but dmg… like the svanir boss, kitten is that boss boring.
Ugh… I am still waiting for ascended gear with the stats i need (Carrion) and if Waraxx is right, I might never get them.

people are lazy. That is why all the expensive items are expensive on the TP. Why bother doing something yourself when you can just buy it. If the price gets too high due to lazy buyers you just blame “market manipulators” on the forums and hope Anet gives you the stuff for free.

There seems to be some confusion about auras here.
Frozen Ground (Ice Field) + Blast Finisher = AoE Frost Aura. This means you grant Frost Aura to 5 people within range without needing Powerful Auras. If you have the trait, Zephyr’s Boon, which grants fury and swiftness with your auras, then anyone receiving Frost Auras from this combo also gets fury and swiftness.
Next, Powerful Auras only works with skills that grant Auras (ie, Focus Fire 5, Dagger Ice 4, Dagger Air 3, Staff Earth 3, and Signets with the Fire’s Embrace trait). The only thing Powerful Auras does is share the aura with party members. Powerful Auras doesn’t work with Auras from combos or Arcane Resurrection. This means Fire Field + Leap Finisher auras (which only apply to one person) are not shared.
For staff users, Powerful Auras really only works with Staff Earth 3 (Magnetic Aura). That said, Zephyr’s Boon works with ALL your auras to provide fury and swiftness. This means that those AoE Frost Auras you can grant your party also provide fury and swiftness.

wow, no offense but this has to be the most idiotic post i have seen in my entire life regarding a game. I know this might seen like a personal attack but your post is bad, your reasoning behind it is bad and your solution is even more horrific.
I have friends playing this game on my same server, we all want to test combos, builds, weapons, our PvP capabilities. I cant ask some random person in WvW who i cant even communicate with (unless i invite him to party, which he might or might not accept) nor i can guarantee he wont have any support behind him. I cant just say “stand there while I bash you to death just to test my build” or " lets 1v1, dont kill me, whoever downs first loses".
I played WoW, im playing GW2, why would I have to go to another game to play my profession?! Its like saying " you want to eat pizza? well you can always go to a BBQ restaurant and get some meat" .
I would appreciate a serious answer with a serious solution, because right now sPvP is the only way i can get to PvP, but i cant test my gear correctly nor ALL my skills nor guarantee somebody else will join.

it’s complicated and we will most likely never know how it truly works. but a few things that we know for sure is;
- vicinity (the closer the higher chance to aggro)
- toughness (the more toughness the more aggro you get)
- dps, ( more dps = higher threat = more aggro)
- current hp (less % hp = more aggro)
- reviving ( trying to revive = you get aggro)
how heavy each part accounts for we dont really know. but the more you get of everything the better i suppose

Funny, cause when I used Ring of Fire + Magnetic Graps a few days back, it didn’t seem to give an Aura to my party. I did it a few times as well. 1st boss in AC, had a few melee players next to the boss and myself. I didn’t know about the limitation, I just assumed then that the combo auras didn’t work with the XII water trait.
that’s because its a leap. only you can be given the aura from the leap. a blast however can be given to 5 different players ( 1 dosen’t have to be you) thus you give the aura to others and they are given the boons. however you can’t share auras that you receive from yourself. only those that you create yourself. there is a diffrence

as a guardian you should take advantage of your high armour value. so trying to take aggro somewhat more than what other proffssion do will probably provide them with the best support you can give them. so in order to take aggro u need to be close to them have high toughness and deal deacent dps. this can be done with hammer / gs. you will also be critting more because you hit more foes and this will grant you more healing via AH.
i was just trying to give tips of how he can solve his problem temporarily… gheez, take it easy.
1. its not 12% because other professions have access to fury too.
well and those who build in fury in thier build also tend to have a higher critdmg so that makes up for i’d say. also some things is oncrit like weakness (or might and heal for a guardian) witch in return increases dmg. so estimating the dmg increase somewhere from 10-15% isn’t a bad estimate.
2. its not to all party members because the radius of powerful auras is extremely low
“( in a organized party that is) " read it once more and you might be able to comprehend what it means. my party members have learned that when i put down that frost field they want to be around it.
3. two warriors stack 6-12 x might + perma fury to all party members in a much larger radius than eles
you are comparing 2 warriors with 1 elementalist? wow that’s unfair. give the warriors a chance and compare them with a ranger ( no offence rangers)

How you give 80% fury uptime for all the party?
via zhephys boon ofcourse. ok i don’t have time to explain so just try it yourself:
go 0/10/0/0/0 pick zephyrs boon. and do the combo erupt + frost field. its a very easy combo to land on a person standing still. and you will see the person you try it on get the aura and is granted the boons.
now that’s just one aura. but if you do this combo;
water4 -> earth -> earth 2 -> dodge into field-> arcane wave. this way you can get 3 auras in the vicinity of the blasts. and the last aura is granted from my powerful aura with magnetic aura.
so in total 4 auras. every aura grants 5sec of fury and i have 30% increased boon duration. (5*4* 1.3 = 26) and the frost field have a 40sec cd but i have the water1 trait reducing the cd to 32. so we have fury up 26sec out of 32sec (26/32 = 0.81).
ok, its somewhat lower like 75% because the combo have some delays and such but around 80% upptime. this gives you unlimet with fury due to minor trait15 and other high dps classes like warriors have there on fury to cover the downtime.
i usually run with 20% boon duration food aswell, but that is kinda overkill sometimes

I do wonder what things will look like when full sets of ascended gear will be available and how much statistical difference there will be then. Especially since chances are that stronger infusions will come as well.

my guess is that overall the full ascended stat will grant the same as full exotic does in comparison to full rare. so [rare stat] * X = [exotic stat] and [exotic stat]* X = [ascended stat].
and i’d say the same on the infusions. so we have blue right now. we will then be given masterpiece and then rare … etc. but idk. and then what? i mean i know they’ve said they want some kind of vertical progression ( although a very small one but still vertical). what happens after ascended gear+infusion? they’ve said they wont introduce a new tier. infusion 2.0 ? starting from blue again? but this time with a additional resistance and add another dungeon were we need another type of infusion?
Yes, I feel it’s best to increase your bank space and drop them there. I personally have one upgrade slot devoted solely to dungeon/fractal tokens and medals of honor.
even though i agree with that the OP should get more bank spaces. that is not the problem that OP is bringing up here. the problem is that they take to much space. and sure it can be solved by increasing the bank. but why force him to increase his bank so he can fit room for a thing that you can’t sell. the problem is not solved by “increase your bank space” as these tokens does take unneccesary much space. they are supposed to reward you for completing a dungeon, not punish you because you cant spend it. although it is a small problem the solution is equally easy.

the problem with the dungeons we have atm is that we have out geared them. do you guys remember when the forums was filled with threads like “nerf AC, it’s imb4”. yeah. if a post like that was made today we would just laugh at it at call the OP noob and l2p. that’s because back then we had like master crafted gear and a few rare and maybe 1 exotic. now 50% of the active players have at least 70% lvl 80 exotic gear and there is a ton of viable builds that people can only copy paste and do well with.
therefor i think that a hardmode would be very good for the game. because that would split the player base in 2 parts those who want to play the dungeon with a alt. and it would be pretty challenging because you have the amount of gear that the dungeon was built and balanced around. and the second part where people have somewhat optimal builds and high end gear. not necessary all BIS gear but a descent 50%exotic would be where this hardmode would be balanced around.
