The raid content isn’t the hardest content in the game =/
It is just what requires the most specific equipment. Running full DPS =/= challenging. Mechanics = challenging. That being said, the mechanics, while difficult, are doable and not punishing enough like they should be.

The swiftness from warhorn is laughable imo, especially since focus is better raw damage. Quickening Thirst does the job better imo, with the downside of not working with GS actively equipped.

Power nec is still bad, probably always will be. Necro’s job is being bottom tier apparently, or at least they’re constantly trying to get them there again.

We may have different opinions of what’s bad then. Which is fine. Sure the damage is lower, But that doesn’t hinder me from completing content. There is not a single aspect of the game that progress is halted because of the fact I went power over condi. Until that happens, which it won’t, there is no reason to dismiss the changes as awful and claiming necro is worthless.

Sorry everyone wants record timings on the content they do. Not sure why that’s important, beating it at all is what should be important =/

Well yes, power necro is not bad in the sense of that it’s not useable. You can play everything in this game and it’ll work, somehow.

When you look at those things though you should always compare with the best options for each class and strive to keep them all about a certain level using their best setups, what they can bring etc. – and that’s where power necro falls extremely short. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love my power necro, it’s my main and I wish it’d finally make sense to bring one instead of being something that’s just there an does some damage, but could easily be replaced by something that does more damage while bringing more valuable utility/buffs.

Maybe bringing something else DOES make sense. But id rather people play what they want as long as whatever were doing is beatable. An example would be as long as there is a minimum of team DPS, as long as that is met I don’t care what is brought.

Something tells me the people on these forums would vote for a certain presidential candidate for the same effect.

The issue with the voting is that anyone can vote. People never playing wvw votes, people joining maybe half an hour a week vote, bu none of those are here to see the impact of it. They are not the players that logs in every day and stay for hours. Those players mostly have a very different opinion, but we can not do anything about the open voting system, were anyone and their gold fish have a say. This is the issue. I said it before. If thee was a vote for PvE raids, would it be ok if people never raiding could vote and settle what players raiding every week need for raids?

Sure. I’m not huge into WvW, I dabble. But I vote, every poll. I do this because if the pools and changes are to my liking I will play it more. Same with the raid. I beat it, but have zero interest in returning because of how it is. Unless they change how it works.

Riverside had 67 cannons in their t3 SMC. Hotfix these stupid cannons away immediatly

What are you talking about, no nerfs?

  • Lich Form—Jagged Horrors: These minions will no longer lose health over time and will instead die 30 seconds after they’re summoned.

That change by itself is a HUGE blow to Necros in Raids and FotM.

Not me, as a power necro I don’t use it.

Just asking, is Foundry and Mallyx 7 heroable now?

I always was able to do all of DoA. My hero set up is very defensive so it takes a while but it works.

How do you handle the Foundry? The other 3 are quite easy now with some patience, but I couldn’t even get pass the 3rd room of Foundry.

I run 4 paragons (me +3), two rits two necros. Many paragon shouts/chants affect spirit allies such as the interrupt one and + damage one. One necro is curses the other is Blood. My blood necro uses Expel Hexes as an elite, one of the paragons uses Empathic Removal. Hexes can be problematic but it works great. Me as a paragon believe it or not I do not run Save Yourselves out of personal choice. If I used it I probably would have zero difficulty ever… I like some challenge

It’s VERRRY defensive, but verrrrry slow. Pull one group at a time and you should be golden. Only when multiple groups at once come is when I struggle. It doesn’t work guaranteed 100% but it DOES work more often than not when I would do it.

For number 2… Maybe he has an unstrippable Resistance while the shield is up. This way no damage is happening. But we don’t have to reapply conditions.

Fixated should last longer I think.

If something will be done, either lower the damage OR remove the daze, not both

Based on what I’m reading, people saying Druids will need to “regear into Healing Power”… Don’t they already? I mean in my own experience, they use Zealot’s or less commonly some healing power primary stat. What would they be using to require a change?

Second, all this talk about “mirror comps”. Any combination can beat a raid, as long as your people don’t die and you have the minimum threshold for DPS, and cover the basics of what’s needed (tank, healer, condi, boom strip, etc)

I’m sorry to put this so harsh, but if you don’t know why people are angry at these changes, then don’t comment on it.

It’s not that raid will be unbeatable with these changes, but it pushes classes out of the meta (Revenant, Hammer Guardian, Thief most notably), it forces a mirror comp which gives you a lot less options to play with, making it more stale in the process.
It’s basically saying RIP to the balanced PvE meta where maybe only 1 class needed looking at (Engi/Scrapper) because it is a bit too weak.

And it will change nothing for WvW, as SoI is not the source of the problem, but Durability runes, Revenant Resistance Spam and the in HoT inroduced +Boon Duration Stats on Armors and Weapon are.
The Balanced Meta in one gamemode gets gutted while it will do little to nothing for the targeted gamemode.

But how/why? Any profession can be used and is viable. I honestly learned just from your post that Guardians should be using hammer. In MY experience, which is all I can base any post on… All of what you were saying is mostly foreign to me. Mirror comps, hammer guard.

There is a thing called team composition in the meta, which refers to builds that are seen as the most effective/complement each other the best way.
Currently chronomancer use Signet of Inspiration to spread quickness to the raid, only 1 is needed. That allows the revenant to get a spot in complementing the chronomancer with additional boon duration.
If SoI gets a fixed duration on boons shared, you will need 2 chronomancers (1 in each party). So which class isn’t needed anymore and will be the one to make place for the second chrono? The revenant, so he is basically out as he also can’t keep up with other DPS classes.

Next, in a scenario where you have 1 chronomancer in each party, your alacrity will be much higher than before where 1 mesmer was in the raid. 1 mesmer can’t keep alot of alacrity up on 9 other players, but 2 can easily.

Thief and Hammer Guardian builds don’t gain alot from Alacrity so they’ll fall off in terms of DPS, making Elementalist the strongest class for raids once again, at least Scepter&Sword + Torch Guardian will have some uses most likely.
But instead of the balanced meta where alot of DPS classes could potentially be played without sincere loss of DPS, you now basically push alot off.

I also never said that Guardian should use hammer (for most pugs it might’ve been better tho), but now the possibility won’t be there as it won’t hold up to other builds.

Ofc raids are beatable with alot of things, but people want to play what works best, because what works best is usually faster, gives you a higher chance of getting the kill, or is simply safer to use.

Pushing 3 classes out of those “what works best” compositions is NOT good, it’s the opposite.

When it comes to Matthias, i was asked to specifically NOT reaper, so I would have the normal shroud skills and could pull people who downed in pools/toxic-clouds out

I never changed from Reaper but I did that too. Thinking about it I probably would be better off changing from Reaper for that fight. I just am out of touch with what’s popular so I just run the same thing.

I have never, once been forced to change my build since head start. I may change a skill here and there based on what’s needed at the time (reflects, boon strip), but never been told what I have isn’t good enough. And I run some pretty obscure crap. Power necro, power engineer. It’s what I love, I still beat the content

The raid doesn’t need any more rewards :p
Sure they are nice, but if there isn’t enough incentive to do them now, maybe they aren’t for you. Personally the content is boring so I don’t step in there anymore after completion.

As for keeping track of Boss kills, that’s valid. That is a good suggestion.

It’s a fair point, I don’t see why if the only mysteries you have left are blocked by content you have yet to complete, then your bar should fill infintitely to gain spirit shards.

I think the people against this just want to feel like a special snowflake. There is no reason for that.

With the addition of PVE raids, I’m starting to be able to enjoy good content again, as it actually takes training, focus and mastery to get through the raids. PLEASE don’t nerf that too!! I’m so scared of them nerfing raids as well!

For the most part I agree with your entire post. Not to say it’s been made easier, but as players become more experienced things like what you said tend to bappen.

What I quoted is what I disagree with because all it takes is DPS gear and repetition to learn that stuff. No challenge, no real focus (I’ll have music on, multiple private convos, be on the phone) is needed. I would love to see something done to the raid content, either current or future, where that is not the case. Ideally I’m talking like going in without a guaranteed chance at victory. Whether random mechanics, or stricter and more punishing mechanics.

Pretty much my staple when doing the raid or high level fractals… Never seems to cause an issue.

Now, probably would be more efficient if I did something else, however until the time comes that content is impossible unless I do that, I’m happy with how it is

I think you’re not getting what I’m saying

Two healers and one tank, what are the other 7? As much damage as possible because that’s what is required by the way the content works. In Fractals I can bring 5 full damage, or 5 non damage, or a mix of however I want and still complete it the same. THAT is where my frustration lies. I can’t bring whatever I want because the design doesn’t allow it to be successful. The other content does allow for it, and that is why I prefer it.

It’s not inherently bad that it requires full damage, it just makes it boring and repetitive. Doing Mai Trin scale 100 in full damage one day, and then full condi the next, and then being tanky as hell another day IS fun for me. Because, while some builds may be significantly slower than others, it keeps it fresh and exciting for me.

I would run the raid stuff weekly, but I got everything I need from them, so I stopped. It isn’t that they are unrewarding, so much that I prefer something less limiting. Running the same build every time to do the same content gets boring. I’d much rather complete content in a more relaxed setting.

I almost never run the same thing twice in a row on a raid(only when I want more practice). I have most things set up. I’ve played in the last week in raids: Condi PS War, Power PS War, Power Scrapper(the raid leader asked :/), Condi Scrapper, Condi Engi, Power Engi, Condi Druid, Magi Druid, Staff Ele(only one I just don’t like, but again asked for it), Condi Necro, Condi Reaper, D/D Thief, and Staff Daredevil.

Quite a variety of things

I wasn’t clear in my original post, my fault. I meant just always some form of DPS role. I don’t find it fun, I don’t find it challenging to play that way. Or rather, challenging in the way I enjoy. I generally play Power Necro, because it’s what I love and grew accustomed to. But the setting of HAVING to play full DPS is what I don’t enjoy. Sure, it adds challenge, but there are other ways of adding challenge without that. I much prefer playing any other content and having the capability of completing the entire thing using whatever equipment I want to use.

I like the cap. I started from head start and did dailies everyday, I’m at around 11,000 still.
Besides, 2 gold per day is still PLENTY of incentive to do dailies.

I’m also pretty sure there are several achievements you can do that you haven’t obtained yet. As we are close in points and I can still do PvP, Fashion, Scribing, and most of the HoT achievements, just to name a few.

Show a video of what you mean. If they’re dropping 4 traps faster than a non macroing user can, that is more like speed hacking. The rule for a macro is simple:

One action per keystroke. If your ONE keystroke casts more than one trap, that is not allowed.

I like the cap honestly. I mean I was never one to focus achievement hunting but my dailies are at around 10,500 or something. That’s 4500 I can use to “catch up” to those that have mostly already called out on it. Along with other achievements I have yet to obtain I can, should I choose to, remain competitive in being a top spot on the leaderboard.

Granted, I don’t really have much interest in it, but I’m sure others in my predicament might feel that way too.

I love Wells. My favorite skills since I started. Use them everywhere. My raid build used 3, changing out Well of Power for something else I need, whether boon strip or might share, or whatever else.

If anything I’d want to increase duration on them by 1 or 2 seconds, but otherwise they’re great

How? The server got better than the one you are apart of. Things change and staying at the top becomes harder with age. You can’t learn as much from someone else as they can from you.

Hey guys, since I’m seeing this topic pop up a lot, I wanted to step in and clear up some misconceptions.

1. Nearly every player that voted, plays WvW at least somewhat regularly.

2. Whether they play 1 hour a week, or dozens of hours a week, the breakdown between people who voted ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ remains very constant around the 65/35 split.

3. The in-game poll notification mail is only sent to players who are actively playing WvW. They must be at least rank 10, and have ranked up while the poll was running.

Glad it says nearly. I vote in every poll despite barely playing WvW at all. Most of my notifications about them come from in game, I do WvW dailies and that’s all.

But that isn’t to say I know nothing about the mode, unlike many who will disagree.

Yay semantics. Helping out, playing what you like or whatever you want to call it.

If we’re going to count scaling then noone is helping out anyway. Everything just scale things up beyond 5 players.

And that’s why you do the ad-spawns in one group of 5 players each. Seems like you understood the concept.

Helping out means making the evens succeed quicker or more safely than if you weren’t participating. Now let’s say there was a dedicated group for each spawn:

  • Would you killing the ads make the event succeed quicker? No, since the time determining factor, Tequatl’s health, is unaffected.
  • Would you killing the ads make the event succeed safer? No, since the group of 5 people can already handle it. You might even make things harder for the defending group by spawning a champion.

A well organized map can handle champion spawns by stalling the champion and sending another group over once they finish their spawn, but that’s time they could’ve spent attacking Tequatl. And yes, on a Tequatl speedkill even the defending groups use the time between ad-spawns to attack Tequatl.

Disclaimer: I’m not saying that this is what OP did. From his post alone it’s impossible to tell whether he was helping or unintentionally hampering the event.

It doesn’t take 5 people to spawn a champion. There are 60+ people at a Tequatl event that affect scaling. This is why you see them spawn despite so few around sometimes. Figure how long it takes to break a defiance bar. In a dungeon, THAT is scaled to 5 people and it breaks fast. Champions at Tequatl take wayyyy longer because the system thinks every person there is hitting it.

That being said, the only reason to keep defense teams limited in number is to not take away from the DPS to Tequatl itself, but I’ve stacked one defense heavily with 20 people and had no issues anyway

I would not buy any merchandise at all, I did not find this option in the survey sadly. I keep gaming and real life stuff strictly seperated so I never buy any merchandise ever for any game.

I am horrible with JPs, but the sad truth is that ley line run is one of the easiest adventure to get gold on. Silver should be a cake walk. If you cannot do this easy challenge you quite frankly do not deserve the legendary.
I also fail to see how you spent 100 hours on the collection (in addition to the gold for the materials). Doing the nevermore collections takes like 1 or 2 evenings if you have the materials.

Comments like this bother me. I’m embarassed to be apart of the community knowing I share it with people like you. Ley Line Run has a right time limit for players that aren’t as agile. It may be easy for you, but it isn’t for everyone. Your comment is neither encouraging nor beneficial to the discussion, which is a violation of the forum rules if I’m not mistaken.

Except the same issue I have is still happening. I speak to her, and it removes my story, but upon mapping to a new zone it still shows that I am continuing my story. I don’t want to finish it but I’m tired of it being on my screen. I thought speaking to her would fix that issue.

Completing the Dragon Stand meta unlocks 70 points. Then I usually run through Auric Basin and Tangled Depths and find the commune skill points.
