IIRC, Ferocity is a pretty weak stat.
That should work now.. Sorry about the mistakes. Got currently a pretty tight schedule so I only have time for this on late night which means less testing and more mistakes.

If you do 79 you get to 80.
Since there are so many videos might be good for each approver to reserve few videos and handle those.
Nice to see a first solo record!
It’s gender neutral. I checked under the skirt.
Considering that guild / player profiles will have same filters as on the main page, they all could be on the same page.
But I guess it’s more clear and intuitive to use when they are on different pages.
TAFU will be replaced with unknown players.
Just for the sake of having interesting skills I would make it a short buff which causes all your attacks deal additional hit.
Sounds like a power creep. That’s not really skill based gaming.
Doing something challenging to get something which allows you to do something else challenging is pretty much same as doing something challenging and then doing something else challenging. Point is, it doesn’t really add anything meaningful.

I’m not a fan of free armor repairs because it feels like it reduces the impact of deaths from combat. From what I’ve experienced, free armor repair also renders repair canisters relatively useless in most situations outside of fractals and even then, it’s possible to “game” it by exiting and reentering.
Nothing prevents you destroying a couple of items whenever you die if you feel that it makes the game more fun.
snip-snip
I never said I found it “fun” to have repair fees, but I do feel that repair fees in some way serve the need to push players to play smarter and be far more aware of their surroundings rather than just have the “oh well, I died” mindset.
It’s already “oh well, I died” kind of a situation.
Harsh death penalty only encourages people to play safe instead of trying to challenge themselves and take risks. Doing extremely easy content or running with zergs is far from playing smart.
Reputation system would work best. With enough negative votes you would lose ability to kick people.
Disagreed. A griefer guild would simply downvote everyone that passes by. Making innocent players have bad rep.
- Not supporting selling dungeon run is the best idea.
- Not pugging dungeons is the best idea.
Naturally you couldn’t vote that you got unfairly kicked if you didn’t even get kicked.
In GW1 every death had an impact and you couldn’t just waypoint back so it’s not a very good comparison. There is already a mechanic to prevent people just ignoring death. That’s called dying. When you die you no longer can use any skills or deal any damage. If everyone nearby dies the enemy will reset.
Again, if you have to repair your armor enough that it annoys you, then you need to learn how to play the game without dying so much. Feel free to ask for help on the forums.
If you’re complaining about dying too much in WvW. Stop playing WvW. Dying happens in WvW. And it can sometimes happen often if you’re doing things that really help your team.
So in your opinion a player who tries to solo dungeons, fractals or champions should ask help from people who kill moas and other highly dangerous targets?

Why would you support having your time wasted?
A question asked of people that spend hundreds and thousands of hours playing a video game.
I take that as you enjoy repairing your armor. Nothing wrong with what. I just find it pretty…. dull.
If you are interested of crying I suggest looking at your own posts.
Also I don’t really understand why anyone would need a reminder of dying when it is already pretty obvious when you die.
(edited by Wethospu.6437)
I really hope you get banned Forte. We only have your side of the story and I’m pretty sure that you stole three legendaries from me. But if you give them back we can forget about this. Also you must say that I’m your master.
(edited by Wethospu.6437)
Don’t get your hopes up.
It already is, not very handy way though. :P You can override the automation with guild IDs. But I will make it better tomorrow.
Currently one player can’t be in two guilds. I guess that’s something which has to be added. I guess whole guild backend needs an overhaul.

Since there will be different layouts available I can just add 1 column and 2 columns option to the dropdown so people can choose what they want. I will also try creating an automatic option which attempts to choose the best view for currently selected filters.
Anyways, here is the first version of the guild profile. http://gw2dungeons.net/Guilds
You can automatically load a specific guild by having part of its name on the url. For example http://gw2dungeons.net/Guilds#SC
On the guild page you can also see a different layout (“list view”) for showing the records. Does this feel worth expanding (with more data and video links) or just scrap the whole idea?
Why would you support having your time wasted?
I added something which tries to make tables have similar width. But it doesn’t fully work yet, especially on limited space.
For comparison:
All data on two columns: http://gw2dungeons.net/Records#0AIfShD
All data on one column: http://gw2dungeons.net/dev/Records#0AIfShD
Some data on two columns: http://gw2dungeons.net/Records#0AIfSga
Some data on one column: http://gw2dungeons.net/dev/Records#0AIfSga
I could add an option how many columns there are.
This would be a good time to talk more about how the record page should look like. So feel free to share any ideas regards that.
For potion info you can check
Not really. If you play fair you very rarely have to kick people mid run. So even if you automatically got a point for every kick you wouldn’t get over the threshold since you would degenerate points away.
The whole system could actually be very simple. Whenever you kick an active player mid run you get 10 points. With more than 100 points you can’t kick anyone until you get below 50 points. Whenever you complete a dungeon you lose 1 point. Your points can’t go below zero.
In this case mid run would mean that path has been chosen and active player would mean that player has been 5 minutes in the instance and hasn’t been afk too long.

I agree.
I guess they can be there until we get complaints from someone who does fractals.
I can add a filter for different scales.
Reputation system would work best. With enough negative votes you would lose ability to kick people.
I guess you meant that current record should show up on all time. Looks like it’s bugged.
Give me few minutes.
Edit: That particular case should work now. No idea if it truly works but we will see when more data gets added.
(edited by Wethospu.6437)
Few changes:
Used filters are now stored on site url. For example link http://gw2dungeons.net/Records#02vgGH2y3 links to fractal record page without date row.
Click “Save filters” button to store current filters as the default filters. This means visiting the default record page will automatically load correct filters for you.
Record guilds can now be edited through the interface. Also added game build for future purposes. Approvers can check instruction tab for more info.
Upcoming:
More data shown on records.
More filters.

In submission example it was listed like "Profession1 Character1 (Player1): Video1 " so that might be better to avoid any confusion.
I know this player alias thing may seem redundant. Once I get the player and guild profiles part done we will see how they feel and whether they are worth keeping. If not then player alias thing can be scrapped.
Could you also list your player aliases? That allows us to connect different characters for player profiles.
Yes, technically all exploits are disallowed. But what is considered an exploit is not always clear. So it’s good to list anything which has raised questions so people don’t have to think about them again.
Anyways, I edited that Lupicus rule as suggested.
what is this? CM Path 2: Using the barrel “safe spot” is disallowed.
and is the brie dome considered progress blocking?
SE p3 clown car, is hiding in the middle level where most of the aoes can’t hit you considered safe spotting?
No idea about those. Someone with more insight about what rules actually mean have to clarify.
But I reworded that CM Path 2 part.
Updates rules up on http://gw2dungeons.net/Rules
If you spot any mistakes please let me know.
Changes:
- Added solo rule set. Same as restricted but non-gem consumables are allowed and some encounter specific rules.
- Resurrected unrestricted rule set. Same timer rules as on restricted but everything except 3rd party tools are allowed.
- AoE manipulating is disallowed on restricted runs.
- 3rd party tools like DPS meters and health info are disallowed on all runs.
- Minipets are allowed on all runs.
- Added section for encounter specific rules to clarify some of the rules. This will get expanded whenever a question arises.

Bumping this up.
Suggesting defensive gear is always bit problematical because it’s a lot of gold wasted if you don’t need it. Also I have always been wondering how much it actually helps. With a bad group and bad skills you get rolled no matter your gear. With a good group you can run naked and die every fight but still get through easily.
Of course defensive utilities or even traits should be used whenever needed because those can be always changed.
Have you verified this by taking damage? Some traits don’t update your attributes correctly even though they work.
Are you talking about your maximum health?
When you back to lower level areas your character gets downscaled which lowers your attributes.
Do you mean http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Champion_Giant?
That’s pretty easily soloable.
Thanks for the props. I will put them in to good use!
Are you on na? Maybe we can fractal sometime and I can show you what I mean.
I’m on EU and I don’t really play that much. Too busy with other stuff. But I added your tips to the guide.
That guild thingy can be fixed at some point. Interface just currently lacks tools for it.
Old meta records can now be viewed on http://gw2dungeons.net/Records
TODO:
- Old fractal records
- All time records
- Visual improvements
- More filters
- Filters configurated by URL parameter (so you can for example have a link which automatically loads fractal records)
- Player profiles
- Guild profiles
- Record interface improvements for approvers
Nothing is off the table.
Unfortunately, dungeons are nothing.

Heyh, just posting this here in case someone decides to make a record before the rule meeting on next weekend (which may wipe stuff).
With the new site there will be quite a bit more information available than previously. So naturally record submissions must include quite a bit more information too.
Current rules and guidelines can be found on http://gw2dungeons.net/Rules. This page will also include previous rulesets for reference.
Quote from the site if you don’t like clicking links:
Record Submission Guidelines
1. Submit new attempts under their own topic in the official dungeon forums.
a. Records will be approved or denied with 7 days of submission by an official approver.
2. Ensure that all required information is included in your submission.
a. Category (Restricted / Unrestricted)
b. Instance Name
c. Run time (Round up to the next even second)
d. The game build and date recorded3. The game build from the Options Menu must be displayed in at least one point of view
4. Include profession, character name, player name, guild tag and video link for each participant.
a. Player name is your alias used for all records
b. If all players are in the same guild, only list the tag for the first playerExample:
The Ruined City of Arah: Path 4
25th January 2015, game build 44039
Restricted time: 20 m, 12 sGuild: Example [EX]
Profession1 Character1 (Player1): Video1
Profession2 Character2 (Player2): Video2
Profession3 Character3 (Player3): No video.
Profession4 Character4 (Player4): Video4
Profession5 Character5 (Player5old -> Player5new): No video.List of approvers:
Iris (Iris Ng.9845)
Particlar (Snowball.3497)
Ravi (Saix.4126)
Rising Dusk (Rising Dusk.2408)
Spoj (spoj.9672)
Also if possible, private message additional information from your previous records to Rising Dusk.

Even if we got something I doubt it’s going to be anything fancy because they don’t know/care what we want.
We must our self create our own content. Hopefully new GWSCR site will spark some speedrunning especially if solo category gets in.
Another idea is to resurrect the “Ascension challenge” topic with slight modifications. Instead of a competition with one active challenge there could be a list of interesting solo/group challenges for anyone to try at any time. For example Spider Queen solo with man mode is quite interesting, at least on Warrior.
(edited by Wethospu.6437)
Yeah, I got your messages. I probably have to play Aetherblade to fully understand that spinning laser thingy and perhaps get a picture of it.
First version of the site is about to get finished. I have added basic functionality and tomorrow I try to improve it visually.
You can technically test functionality http://gw2dungeons.net/Records but they don’t do much until more data is added.
Wasn’t LS supposed to be more than an expansion? So if we now get an expansion logically it would mean less content.
I would say you are the one being negative here. Going completely off-topic just to bash me.
Whether he is trying to compete or not is irrelevant. Our guides are so similar that they automatically compete with each other. If you need a written fractal guide you very likely won’t read both.
Now if his plan was to make a popular guide for community then he would have a hard time. What I was trying is to make him aware of the situation and potentially avoid wasting his time. But since he explained his motive and goals there isn’t really anything to discuss. For his purposes it’s a good guide.
I didn’t tear him down. I told him the facts. Sometimes facts aren’t nice and may hurt. But I decided to risk that to avoid the potential case of him spending a lots of effort only to realize something very similar has already been done.
As I have stated multiple times, it’s entirely up to him what he does with his free time. Bot looks like the same doesn’t apply for me as you are giving me orders how I should spend mine.
now that’s not how you create a beautiful guild website. You set up events, write guides, share resources, that’s what makes guilds attractive. It’s a community, it’s supposed to be your home, you don’t just throw links to pictureless guides in your home. You give something back to your home
Fair enough. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
