No, I’m comparing real npc with dumb players. Also I don’t think you know what random means.

Wethospu/Jerus, I think youre being cleverly trolled. Or I hope so.

I thought I was cleverly trolling here….

Yes you said “Quick list of WvW maps that anyone can zerg in any gear without even looking at the screen:
All WvW maps”

Trying to push the idea that pvp in this game is at the same braindead lvl as pve.

I think you are the one that either does not know the meaning of words or is just trolling around.

The dungeons follow always the same route. After you chose the path you from A to B to C, etc… It is always the same. The same mobs will spawn in the same place. You complete always the same event. The same bosses, which will use the same skills.

The only 2 things that are not always the same are some optional evens like cave troll in ac and the aggro system. The rest is always the same. Try to put wvw at the same lvl as pve is insulting wvw.

WvW is not PvP.

So in dungeons there are always the same route and stuff but sometimes something else? Also you always play with same people?

Sure, you can do something like that. I’m not just excepting an average guy to be able to do anything like that.

Assuming I do a lottery would one big prize or few smaller prizes feel better?

That sounds way too much of a work. With images I need less than a minute for each image. With videos it would take 15-30 mins if I need to edit them.

gw2dungeons has 900 separate enemy entries. Lots of enemies look same so maybe 200 images would be needed. Major attacks are probably another 200 images. I think like a total of 500 images would be a decent amount.

The thing with a lottery is that people prefer a chance with high pay than a guaranteed low pay. So it’s a good way to fool people to help.

Wait, so what are you asking for here? Plain picture of the mobs like this: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/images/thumb/d/d6/Captain_Mai_Trin.jpg/449px-Captain_Mai_Trin.jpg or also with attack animations?

Anything useful is fine. But yes:

1) Plain enemy images

2) Additionally images which show animations or other relevant info

3) Any other dungeon related relevant images

As long as the posted image is better than the current image on gw2dungeons it would count. Even if someone else posted a better one which I would actually use.

In other words, if you make a realistic submit it will count.

To get lots of dungeon/fractal enemy images I was thinking of making a lottery, with 1000g prize (about 140€ I think).

So people would submit images and each entry would give them one ticket. Then at the end I would put all tickets together and pick one (1000g) or two (750g + 250g). To prevent people posting bad images only ones which were better than current images would count.

After the lottery hopefully all bosses and most enemies had an image and images of their major attacks.

Any ideas?

Quick list of WvW maps that anyone can zerg in any gear without even looking at the screen:

All WvW maps

WvW and spvp are not a controled environment like pve dungeons. You don’t know what the enemy in the other side will do. Even if it is a zerg fight in wvw, you might have less players. The difficulty is harder than dungeons. Also below t2/t3 the zergs are not really big and you see a lot of small scale fights.

Also if you are considering any gear, almost all dungeons can be complete in any gear. People made videos of killing bosses naked. Now go try to fight any non kitten player naked.

Could you define what you mean with controlled?

Most enemies will randomly choose their attacks so how do you know what they will do? Also how do you know what your teammates do?

I will counter your “the difficulty is harder than dungeons” argument with “the difficulty is easier than dungeons”.

If you really want to consider gear, every PvP fight can be won naked. Perhaps you should first make videos about doing dungeons naked. But I guess that at this point it’s pretty evident that you haven’t really done dungeons.

dungeon and bosses:

-Bosses dodn’t dodge
-Most of them don’t use boons
-Bosses won’t kite, will sit and take your melee dmg
-Bosses have a fixed set of skills. You don’t know 100% of the enemy build in wvw/spvp. there is some surprise effect there.
-You are always the one that start the fights, there is no risk of been jumped by the enemy. The player knows exactly what is gonna happen when it is gonna happen and where it is gonna happen.
-Npc’s animations normally are much longer than player ones.
-Pve follows always the same linear pattern.

There is no new thing. 100% controled. Always the same old mechanic.

spvp you are not without armor you are using the amulet with stats. Try to unequip the amulet and go with 0 extra stats and see what happens.
go try to duel in wvw with no armor and see what happens.

Most of those apply to WvW too.

Also I don’t think you know what 100% means.

Open world pve is probably the best community. Followed by wvw. The 2 most toxic communities are spvp and dungeon.

Where skill and individual performance actually matter and you can’t just blob together with 109238129083 other players and be carried to victory by said numbers.

Pve is 90% about bring the right gear+comp and 1 or 2 dodges sometimes. Most dmg is bypassed with reflect+block+ kill the mob to fast before I die.

Even wvw require more skill because you are agaist a player not an npc that does the same skill rotation every time.

Have you ever gotten out of the AC/CoF1/SE1 rotation? I mean, if you do the easiest quick dungeons then, yeah…

Personally I’ve found the Open world PVE community far more insulting than the dungeon one, but of course that may just be because I see more of them so it gets spammed across my screen, where dungeons are generally one guy being a jerk and either I leave or someone else kicks him so… yeah.

Quick list of super easy dungeon that anyone can run in zerker gear even without paying much attention:

ac 1,2 and 3
cm 1,2 and 3
ta up and fw
se 1 and 3
cof 1 and 2
coe 1,2 and 3

I just listed around 75% of the dungeon paths available. Did you just notice that the huge majority of the pve takes no skill? Compare pve dungeons with wvw or spvp is a joke. Do you really think a boss programed to do always the same skill rotation is harder to fight than a real player?

What is going to be interesting whether all dungeon enemies even have autoattacks.

I think you might be able to partially tell using Power Block? … if Power Block works on a skill, you can conclude the skill isn’t autoattack.

While information is always nice it’s more about:

1) If enemies don’t have any autoattacks they will just stand still

2) Taunt will probably have longer duration than normal CC because it doesn’t render target completely useless

3) This duration may even be extended in PvE because of tanks

So it can end up as a really strong disable versus some enemies.

Wethospu.6437

So if I understood correctly:

1) It’s easy to not bug her

2) Bugging disables flamepots which makes positioning and sustain less important

3) Bugging disables teleporting which makes gap closing, positioning and movement less important

4) Bugging removes the chance of getting insta-orbed if you close the gap carelessly

The way I see it is that “having to move around” is not a very good reason to allow bugging. So how big thing that insta-orbing is? If you realize that you may get insta-orbed can’t you counter it somehow? Or does good time depend too much on RNG?

That “detecting” is so vague.

So far only evidence I have ever seen are my tests on boss blitz which make event participation entirely range based. It doesn’t matter whether you dead or alive or have you even hit the boss once.

So how does this bugging actually work? If it happens very easily then there is no point disallowing it.

That “exact same thing” argument could be used for bugging lots of bosses. The way I see it, more stuff there is going on, more chances to show some skilled gameplay.

Mostly cleared maybe. I still remember vanquishing in GW1. Although chasing down the one remaining patrolling enemy should be less of an issue in GW2 since the dungeons are relatively tiny.

Except arah where it is impossible to clear all enemies without doing something not intended by devs.

How is it impossible?
Hard work doesn’t mean impossible lol

It should be pretty obvious if you have done the dungeon even once. There are enemies which constantly respawn.

It would be nice if we had 1 hour of development time weekly for dungeon related stuff. So we wouldn’t have to keep guessing so much.

Anyways all these things will be decided case by case. If you want 100% answers you have to be specific. My goal is to try keep things fun which means not restricting stuff too much but also not allowing things going too one dimensional.

Regards Turmaine, is there a reason why it shouldn’t be allowed? He constantly dashes towards you and if there is something on way he gets stuck. It feels weird to make a boss like that and then put obstacles on his way.

Absolutely, although I won’t be able to approve every record that comes through, but I didn’t think that was required.

With a fancy title like that I obviously expect a lot more!

Anyways if devs are interested of doing some serious small scale content they should use the dungeon community much more. Test their stuff on us, get ideas from us, etc. At this point I could even do their work and design their encounters for free.

  • Any suggestions

Categories for jumping puzzles, map crossing and guild missions
This was mentioned on the previous topic. Is there still demand for this?

They should be pretty quick to add but we need a ruleset.

Record resetting procedure
Some people have voiced their concerns about record resetting being too harsh. Now records get reseted when they can’t be beaten (or when agreed on guild meetings). This actually means that good records have much higher chance getting reseted than bad records.

So instead of invalidating a record, extra time could be added to it. It’s not that much different than what we currently have since to figure out whether a record can be beaten we already have to consider that “extra time” part.

For example show red +Xs after record time for “only valid” option. Then with “all time” option only show the base time.

Record information
Do you feel record page is missing something? Would you like to know something more about the records?

Interface changes
This is only for approvers since only they can access it. Goal is to make record managing as easy and fast as possible. So any ideas for that are welcome.

Community driven reputation system
With the upcoming authentication API this would be possible. You would login to your account and rate people. For example tolerant/kicked, helpful/unhelpful, etc. Goal is to give negative reputation for griefers so people can avoid them. Also idea is to push people to more helpful direction.

Current plans

  • Update fractal guides
  • Discuss topics

TODO

  • BUG: Keep character selection on record interface after adding a new character.
  • Show guild tag for players on character interface.
  • Add support for URL parameter to the Rule page.
  • Add link from record game build or date to the rule set on the Rule page.
  • Add record run videos to dungeon guides.
  • Try to make the overlay bigger.
