I’d personally rather get the 7x rewards (especially those kitten zephyr lockpicks)
The serial code thing is seriously annoying. I managed to remember my Password (finally!) when I wanted to give details on a bug, but it’s almost impossible for most people to ever retrieve their passwords under the current system. Who saves game boxes?
Add to the list, got the item swapped;
Completed the previous piece a few days before the event
Have completed story steps, but not done any work towards next back
Seed was in my bank and not on my character.
The problem is that the bosses are HP sponges and some of them have really annoying mechanics.
The Pirate? Fine, l2dodge
The Bandit? Ditto
The Destroyer? Accept that you’re gonna get downed
The Flame Legion? Accept taht you’re gonna die.
The Ogre? Hope you equipped the right weapon and aren’t using runes of fire, or you’re gonna be standing around a lot.
The centaur? Everyone loves bosses that run away and huge invulnerable chain knockdowns coming through.
If the boss fights were fun instead of annoying (HI INVULNERABLE CENTAURS) the difficulty wouldn’t even be an issue.
The real problem here is ‘false meta’, although Mr. Spider has covered it nicely.
No realm is safe from the cult of cryptocurrency
Armor category is something I’ve wanted forever anyways, it would be nice when browsing.
The other one, ‘locked skins’ is for those of us who are pokemon’ing. I’d spend a LOT of money on the TP if I could just get it to show only ones I don’t have.
… although actually I wanted that for dyes for a while too, guess it’s the same thing.
I’ve seen one case where it was pretty clear people were doing it to grief, but it’s a tough nut, you can’t legitimately say “HEY QUIT PLAYING THE GAME AS INTENDED!”
Hoping Anet fixes this thing soon though (although I have my traits on my main, there are alts!) ><
Not down yet? These are endless entertainment. Thanks for making WvW fun, BG!
All else being equal someone with more AP is more familiar with the game and statistically more likely to play better. By eliminating low AP and thus lower time played players you are more likely to complete the dungeon without any problem.
Note: Incoming comments from people who don’t understand statistics and use random anecdotal evidence to try and say i’m wrong. I will not respond to you, go back to school.
Mainly because of the somewhat combative tone of para 2, since you’re sure of the statistics, let’s see the numbers. This isn’t an expected but unsupported by research thing is it?
~~~
(I agree that a ton of AP makes it somewhat more likely you know what’s going on, but the whole ‘people don’t know statistics’ vs. the guy misusing the word ‘statistics’ was just too much to pass up)
To content, I think ‘zerk/nonzerk’ is more important than an AP count.
In the gear case the playstyles do NOT mix, even if both work on their own.
For AP, how bad a group are people getting that they think they need this? For most of the dungeons, just about any group is fine, I can count the number of ‘bad’ (not even disastrous) runs on 2 hands. The number of failed runs is tiny and are all in the first rush of the game (back year and a half ago now).
I see a high AP req and I always think “They’re going to spend more time trying to fill their group than they would if they were just running with less experienced people.”
…i have seen enough legendary-wielding 10k+ AP players kissing the floor every two minutes to realize, that some players are just bad, and no amount of AP is going to change that.
…or they may be full-DPS glass canons who’re used to killing bosses in seconds with 25 stacks of might, perma fury, timewarps, blinds/aegis/reflects but go down if a PUG is not as coordinated as their usual guildies/friends party with Teamspeak/Skype.
Are they bad as players? No, they’re probably better players than many “casuals” because they’re playing with instincts that they’ve been sharpening for thousands of hours. Are they bad in suboptimal PUGs? You may say so, or you may say that the PUG is not good enough for them – it all depends on your mindset.
I sense defensiveness.
I think they are fixing the ‘instance owner’ issue, I saw reference to it somewhere in the feature pack info.
About the other 2 seconds (ie 3 votes total) to kick would probably fix most potential abuses.
Modern games are much more heavily monetized than games used to be. I don’t think encouraging developers to charge extra for everything under the sun is an initiative I’d want to support.
Honestly the fans couldn’t design their way out of a shoe as a general rule, you’d have to pay ANET a lot for the right to torpedo their game with half-baked ideas.
Why do people think Anet is hurting for money? are you kidding me? This is an MMO, they either get plenty of money and keep working or they don’t and shut down. It’s as simple as that. You people clearly have no idea how much Anet makes from your gem addiction and Anet will never tell you lol and that’s why you keep thinking they need more of your money.
It’s not actually a suggestion, it’s ‘funny’.
My worry is, since the new season 2 living story is coming, odds of us getting any meaningful permanent content or any improvements to this game in the next 2 years is slight to none.
Since Gem store is the only thing Anet (or NCsoft) cares for, figured its the only way to grab their attention.
Just posted this in another thread but it applies here too.
Anet has 2 dozen or more small cross-disciplinary teams working in parallel on various things at any given time.
I know you’re just being snarky, but you have to understand that they don’t ‘focus on one thing at a time’ in any way shape or form.
There’s likely different teams working on different things, and there’s possibly a team committed to interesting gem store instruments. They are probably proud of their work.
Although it might be one person, who knows. Either way, it’s having no impact on the capacity for the rest of the Dev team to do what they’re doing.
Anet actually did a presentation on their dev process at GDC. They have 20-30+ small teams working in parallel.
… and add them to the mix of gear types.
Those are easily the 2 most requested stats to add to stat combinations, and this would make it a lot easier for aNet to put them into various pieces without getting rediculous stacking issues or having to impose a hard limit.
There’s no reason to ever want a necro on a team. Support on this game is with control, blinds, reflects, blocks. All of these a necro isn’t known for. The only control necros really have is fearing which is a burden in dungeons.
I have a message for you from “Epidemic”
