1. Just make it so that you cant party with someone more than 1 division above or below you.
OR
2. As suggested above. Calculate the average MMR of the team and adjust rewards on a per person basis based on your MMR/Division position relative to the average. if you are signicantly above the average you may not get any pips on a win. If you are significantly below the average you may get 2 or 3 pips for a win. (of course the Match making prediction table should be used also to take into account enemy team average MMR/Division).
This should encourage players to team with people of equal skill/rating.
You should be able to queue with who ever you want, there should just be consequences when you play with someone to low.

why is anet not doing anything about the mmr exploit?
diamond players can use their f2p account on amber and team up with friends and get free wins due to this mmr system
because i believe their resources are seriously limited. Theres no other reason they should have this many problems in this game.
The problem with your suggestion is it would lead to way too much boosting. Amber shouldnt be able to be carried by a legendary to a rank they dont have the skill for and dont deserve.
Its already like this as we speak! But by making it more riskier for thr higher league players they have more incentive NOT to play with the ambers.
Or an easier solution: If you queue with others, everyone in your premade takes on the MMR of the highest ranked party member. That way if a legendary wants to queue with a amber, they can, but the MMR will be at the legendary level.
Season 1 has been a joke so far.
That is an awful suggestion. Refrain from speaking before you think about the repercussions. Your idea would lead to people quitting the game and high tier players able to farm the kitten out of noobs.

So first off, I’m sure everyone here understands what I say when I say that the ranked system is skewed right now. People in higher ranks queue with people in lower ranks and promote a volatile environment of “climbing the ladders” (Its more like jumping the ladder because of how dumb this is.)
That being said, I know Anet has announced that they’re working on different fixes for the next season of pvp ~Feb. But knowing how well Anet gets things done in the first try I’m going to point out solutions to the problem before everyone starts saying stupid kitten.
PROBLEM: PEOPLE IN HIGHER LEAGUES QUEUE WITH PEOPLE IN LOWER LEAGUES TO GAIN MORE PIPS FOR THEIR WHOLE TEAM.
This is not how MMR should work, if a diamond queues with an amber, the amber should be the ONLY ONE GETTING MORE PIPS! Not the whole team! Its harder for the amber player to win (Theoretically, because league rank= relative skill).
Whats not hard is the higher ranked player to win vs the other team of low ranking players. Why should he get more pips for an easier win?
SOLUTION: Pip gain should be gained and lost on a per player basis, not the whole team. If you are a higher league rank playing with lower ranked players (below your league) you should be penalized for it because of how badly you’re skewing the MMR of your team.
How do we go about this? you might ask… Well, first off start by giving less pips per win to people in higher leagues when they queue with low rank players and give the people who are in low rank queuing with higher league players more pips per win. This way its more of a gamble for the high ranking players to queue with someone in a lower league.
Their thought process as of now is “hmm my friend is emerald and i’m diamond. we’ll get EASIER matches and MORE pips.” Problem with that is it SHOULD be like this: “Hmm my friend is emerald and im in diamond. I’LL GET EASIER MATCHES, and a chance to get more pips per loss!”
Make it riskier for people in higher tiers when queuing with lower league players. Give them a reason to not take low league players in their party / premade / duo, as of now you’re giving people easier matches and more pips because of how easy it is to skew the MMR & Pip loss and gain system!

P.S. I’m 100% serious, Anet you don’t have much time. if the next season is as easy as this one no one will take your ranked system seriously.

Yes, the risk exists, that Anet will screw up the system, but I guess they will just copy the league-system of one of the more popular games, and they are solving the problem. How: depending on your mmr, you are gaining and loosing a different amount of pips.
So e.g. even after reaching a certain division, if you try to dump your mmr into the ground, you will first have to improve your mmr, you be able to advance any further.
E.g. after dumping your mmr into the ground, you will only gain 1 pips per win, but you will loose 5 pips per win until your mmr is back at the level where it should be for the division.
That is far from how it works. Try again.
I think the point OP is trying to make is that at the start of a league/season everyone should have the same starting position. And he’s right. Any indication of skill is nullified if the path to the top is not the same for everyone.
Pretty much, Its just rediculous how easy it is to exploit this new system by grouping as a 5 man group WITH 1 NEW Player(SOMEONE WITH LOW MMR)
Because that one dude tanks ur teams rating and gives you the easiest matches….

Dont worry, your MMR will tank as you keep losing. The reason a big reset isnt a good idea is to allow new players to avoid getting stomped by veterans the first few days/weeks.
Thing is im not losing 10 in a row…. im just losing 1 and winning 1, going absolutely no where in emerald division! I stay at 1 or 2 pips because of the way the system works.
What im comparing it to is other low mmr players or people who want to exploit the system by running 4 ppl with 1 rank 20 can do better than someone who trying to play and rank up honestly.
They’ll quickly equalize and then have just as tough a time as you ranking up. Then they’ll have issues once tgey can fall tiers. It’s a short term advantage.

Problem is, if you buff lord too much the strat is just gonna be to ignore lord and cap points because you know they cant get it fast.
They just need to increase the health it has.

That was actually my most loved time in GW2. Condi Survival Ranger was actually really strong then so ranger was actually relevent… unlike now where I see a ranger on my team and I think “$#!% a ranger!?”
Druid is really strong, and they haven’t nerfed rangers… they’re still good. Are you sure your mmr isn’t low?
Requiring a stomp would probably be an interesting solution. When downed the NPC should be immune to damage and require players to stomp it. Thus CC and Stab etc become important.
To bad stomps are broken and don’t work more than half the time…

This seems pretty straight forward, they need to be counted different.
If the monster has 2 separate stacks of bleeds, which stack does damage first? The only way I can think is the first one applied goes first. That’s doable without splitting the stack.
If its two seperate stacks they each have their own timer and duration, at which they were applied, each dealing their own amounts of damage.
The one to deal the killing blow would be the one that gets the kill, seems really simple to me.

Change the daze to weakness / cripple. Daze on a trap that already does a kitten ton of damage is questionable design.
Its fine, you just need to learn the builds and understand how each spec plays / is countered.

even soldier scrapper is a lot better at bunkering than tempest.

This guy gets it. Druid is pretty easily locked down. Looooong cast times with very obvious animations. But I suppose typing a complaint is easier than working on game play.

Druids have no cast times on anything, if anything is longer than 1/2s its a channel ability like avatars 4 and 5 skills… everything else is instant or half second.
