I guess you will have to LTP once your crutch is nerfed.

…and that’s exactly the reason why I posted that
If a thief with stats like mine can’t crit for more than 600, how could a condition thief, namely one without such a high power/critdmg as me, crit for ~3k?Go to temple, get buff with target debuff and see how much you can crt.
I did said it can crt up to 3k.
Also Dire build is full condition build with almost no pt in power and crt dmg.The +30% Confusion Duration on these runes is not even working (at least for Mesmers) so think about how much more OP these runes would be if it did.
It did work, it just don’t stack.
Say if you have 30% condition duration trait, the buff will do nothing.
It should stack, just like other + condition duration items/food.

I agree, I don’t like spawn camping because I hated being spawn camped myself when we are outnumbered. That said, there is more than one way out of spawn.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Maybe this should be posted on the bug forums.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
secretly i hope they nerf veil and portal to the ground, so all the people saying oh yeah mesmers are sooo important will realize that all they were to u was a veil/portal bot and then anet might gets the point that this class is almost not played in zergs anymore and we might finally get a mesmer aoe group viable build.
as for me im on strike. u want veil?go roll a mesmer yourself and do it. its boring and btw im not your servant.
how do u feel walking your stupid golems? massinvis? nah ask your thieves to do that. id rather spec for me to survive. tw? no id rather use my hounds of baltazar to at least do some aoe dmg that doesent rely on clones or phantasms.
With the removal of culling, portal isn’t as strong as it once was.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
I like to get into melee range on top of the enemies character when using the block. It makes it harder to see my blocking animation.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
I’m not raging mad here or anything but I got this Norn Mesmer I love playing and to me he looks kitten and then he creates a clown or illusion or teleports and thers always these really weak pink hearts that are the particle effect … my question is WHY? and can this be changed in an update Please… it REALLY REALLY breaks immersion very badly i feel like i running around with a legendary princess thats 8 ft tall holding a 6ft sword who spawns pink hearts…..like what in the kitten batman??
You’re not TheBoss of me!
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
60 players is not correct. That is way too low.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
+10 sec ICD but fix the +30% Confusion Duration because it is not working.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Why nobody mention the Warrior torment.. Easiest to land and most OP since it’s hard to cleans in the way that it applies over time..
Anyways, since you are using torch I’m going to guess you use prismatic understanding like all the other FOTM’ers
.. It is likely you are using your scepter 2 while having the aegis boon and the boon is taking the block rather then the scepter.. So you see “block” and think u landed it, but you really didn’t.
That is a good point about Aegis taking the block rather than the Scepter which means wait for Aegis to fall off before using Scepter #2 block.

Keep in mind that Anet is changing Perplexity runes.
I’d like to see your source behind that statement. Many has made that statement but none have provided solid proof.

Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Great Condition damage but with no real condition duration to go with it, would it not be better to lower condition damage and raise condition duration? Keep in mind that many wvw players run with -36% to -40% condition reduction.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Keep in mind that Anet is changing Perplexity runes.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
The skill needs to be totally reworked. Look at how easy it is for every other class that has access to Torment. I mean it has SERIOUS issues:
1) You are Rooted
2) Dodge at wrong time its wasted
3) They move out of range(900) and its wasted
4) They dodge its wastedIts FAR harder to apply it with Mesmer than it is for any other class. It has been an issue since it came out and it is about time they got around to fixing it.
It should have been made Aura
Its range needs to be changed to 1200 to make it a threat to range classes as wellThese 2 changes alone would fix 99% of the issue with the skill . Making it so that you cant move during it is stupid. Then you also get into the fact that it procs on clones, minions, pets and other summoned NPCs so it getting onto the right target can be very tough.
Actually to me, those are minor issues.
My annoyance is when I block a pet, minion or clone instead of my intended target.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |

Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Mesmer’s get better/easier to level past 40ish.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Thief.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
@Deathreign,
Why would you use Nightmare runes over Perplexity? That is definitely a loss in damage.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Hi xavi, you use full rabid for your variant? Would superior sigil of doom be better for this? I noticed that after I replaced my superior sigil of energy with superior sigil of doom, my survivability went down but dps went up.
Death, mind sharing your setup as well??
This is what I currently use.
-For Sigils, I chose 2 x Battle over Purity & Blood. However, I have been thinking of trying Sigils of Doom possibly.
-For utilities, I often use Signet of Domination, Null Field or Portal.
-I did choose some ascended rabid pieces with vitality which helps against conditions however with the Applied Fort buff and possibly Bloodlust buff, I will probably switch those back to pure Rabid.
-Lastly, after I get a 25 stack of Corruption, I switch out to a different Torch that has Sigil of Bursting (+6% Condition Damage)

All phantasms need a target before you can summon one. Having to have both a target and a ground-targeting mechanic seems doubtful. I don’t see iWarden being changed.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
How they bugged? You know, speed didn’t stack with your traits/signets.
The 6/6 is bugged. They only give 5% speed bonus, not 25%.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Heres my leveling guide.
1. Use level 20 scroll
2. Craft 14 levels for bout 10 gold.
3. Run dungeons with guild on main, relog onto your mesmer at last boss fight 50% health, gain 75% of a level per path. Use money to insta-gear your mesmer @ 80
4. Zerg when any of hte above options arent available.
5. Get 80 in less than 30 hours played.3-4 months ago you could easily craft 20 levels with net 10-11 gold did something change? Cooking jeweler and artificer especially?
With the introduction of Ascended gear and the crafting raised to 500 (artifice, weaponsmith, huntsman), leveling two crafting possessions gets you only about 14 levels now rather than the full 20 in the past. Make sure you are using crafting boosters when leveling crafting.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Grats! My Blackwater/Traveler’s variant is doing great too!
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Yes, you need clones for this build. Lots and lots of clones.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Pretty much.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
I need to stress again, OP and I are a two person roam only and him solo when I am ill or too busy deep in my tea, crocheting while I surf pinterest….
Rarely do we ‘small man group’. If we have other guildies with us, it’s because we are just messing around. We do not do that whole group thing and we aren’t interested on how necros are or are not good in them.
The problem IS though, the small man groups full of heavies that jump on TWO necros and chain stun them to death. Ridiculous.
1v1/2v2s are dead.
Necro’s don’t make the best solo or small group roamers.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Bandwagon to whichever T1 server that makes you feel better. I mean, why stay at a mid or lower server when you can be on one of the best zerg servers.
/sarcasm
Enjoy the queue times and lag!
:D
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
If they had an ICD, they would be decent but not OP.
Right now, these are pretty good on a Mesmer who is supposed to be ‘The Confusion Class’, but these runes are absolutely OP on an Engie, Warrior and Thief who NOT the Confusion class.
Hopefully there is an ICD or some other significant change to these come Oct 15.
Right Anet?

I like this idea however I would still like the option of either consuming it yourself or sending it to a fellow wvw’er. The problem I see is that only those most vocal in map chat would end up receiving them and those smaller groups might go unnoticed and therefore they wouldn’t receive any anyways.
Still would like the option.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
I think that if you have the Bloodlust buff, it should enable you to kick offline people out of your own party. That would be OP.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Not really. Hard to get group boons when you are sitting at 900-1200 away from the rest of your group.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Oh. My. God.
Nerf these stupid OP runes already!
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Shatter build with no points in Illusions is fine and viable. However I would suggest swapping out Cleansing Conflagration for Shattered Concentration which removes boons on shatter. This is way more group centric.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Blackwater build (which uses perplexity runes) would probably be your best choice. Start there. You can also switch out the staff for sword+pistol.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
LoL @ one large map. If skill lag wasn’t already horrendous in a 3-way SM fight, imagine what it would be then. Never going to happen.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Anet should increase the HP of gates significantly and at the same time increase the damage that siege does to gates as well. This way siege takes gates down at relatively the same speed as now but zerg melee DPS on the gates becomes mostly insignificant.
The key here is that you still do damage to the gates when you tag the gate, thus you still get credit for the capture event.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
I love the ruins but the bloodlust mechanic needs to be revised as well as there needs to be better rewards for playing in the ruins.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Terrible idea. It would add so much confusion to chat.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
My current WvW build:
For zergs, I like to run in, Torch 4 for invisible & blinds, switch to staff and drop chaos storm at my feet, then when you come out of stealth, you blast that chaos storm (ethereal field) which gives 5 allies chaos armour, which a lot of zergs want now. Also you give 5 enemies burn.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
iMage is terrible.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
I usually like 0/20/0/25/25. Lets you swap sword trait for pistol trait and vice versa when needed.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Torch is only useful in PvE for running past mobs in Arah.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
One Word.
Traveler Runes.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Tips for Mesmers:
1) Don’t use Deceptive Evasion. Clone on dodge is terrible for dungeons anyways.
2) Go Melee (sword/focus + sword/sword or sword/pistol) Greatsword blows.
3) Traited Focus, Feedback, Null Field are your friends.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
For Mesmers, untrait Deceptive Evasion (clone on dodge). As a matter of fact, why are you even using clone on dodge in a dungeon lol?
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
The stomp bonus is huge so the ruins don’t need any ppt.
But how about some gold/exp/karma for taking all 3 ruins and holding them? Surprised this isn’t there already.
The balance problem is that if you make the Ruins rewards too enticing, the zergs, blobs may go there instead.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
The progenitor and the formative development of blobbing is GvG. This is when initially beginning with 5 or up to 8 players a side that now has grown to upwards from 10 to 15 and even 25 plus a side. Blobbing and GvG uses the same style of play. Both use the same techniques and control. Both are created by the same group of people run by the same group of commanders.
The ‘zerg’ or ‘blob’ was there long before GvG became semi-popular. Also 10-25 is not really a ‘blob’, more like 40-100+.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
You have to walk to a temple and spend 42k karma.
Or, you need to do Fractals for an even better one.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
I kind of get what Anet was trying to accomplish here.
They wanted to give smaller groups the ability to have an impact on the map without being part of the ‘zerg’. However, they needed to make the rewards not too enticing or zergs would camp the ruins instead.
The problems are:
1. Bloodlust is probably not the best ‘map reward’ for various reasons (GvG)
2. The individual rewards for those playing in the ruins and trying to take or defend the ruins is too small.
The hard part is making the ruins rewarding enough to have for your server as well as rewarding enough to those trying to control/defend the ruins without those rewards being so great that the zergs now want to be there as well to get those individual rewards.
I think the buff should provide other rewards such as:
1. More Supply Dolyaks?
2. Faster upgrades to structures?
3. More supply at camps?
4. Maybe extended consumable buffs when you hold the ruins?
5. Maybe more WxP, Karma, etc. for the server?
The problem though is that if you are severely outmanned on a map, the larger server population is going to control the ruins (and have all the map-wide benefits of the buffs) as well as most everything else which will make it harder for you (havign less population and now no Bloodlust buff) to re-take them in the first place.
All the problems of WvW always point to the same issue: Uneven Population in WvW.
Maybe there should be 2 Outmanned buffs. The server with the least population on the map gets a stronger Outmanned buff and the second server with the 2nd lease population gets a weaker Outmanned buff. The server with the most population gets no buff.
At least these buffs are tied to population which I feel is the biggest problem in WvW.
