Working as intended.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Ummm….maybe just autoattack the iberserker twice so you know….kill it? It attacks once every 8 seconds so have a lot of time to kill it.
How do you fight back against elementalist meteor storm? Engineer grenades?
Last night, I couldn’t target Trebs to kill them with my iBerserker but elementalists and engineers could easily AOE them down.
iBerserker is working as intended and is not even the best AOE of all the professions as it requires a target.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
What do you use inplace of rabid trinkets?
My preference is CondDmg-Vitality-Power. There are some Rabid jewelery out there but they’re Green at most.
Why power in a condition build?

Also epic fight last night in EB at Stonemist between CT and Yak’s. CT held Stonemist and we (Yaks) had 8 Trebs set up taking a corner wall down. The problem was, once the wall was down we still couldn’t get by because there was a staircase behind the wall that wouldn’t disappear and was blocking our entry. After bashing our heads against that for a bit, we treb’d a second wall and took that down and finally got past the outer wall. Once past the inner wall, CT had great defense in the Lord’s room, using many many arrow carts to delay our rushes. Yak’s finally got in and took over Stonemist but this whole assault took about 2 hours to complete.
Good times CT.

As far as I know, GW2 is CPU bound and therefore does not utilize your GPU (video card) like other games do. The result of this is the delay in rendering objects like other players in a speedy fashion. Do you notice that you don’t see custom dyes on opponent armour in WvW? This is to further reduce the rendering (culling) delay.
ANet needs to push more of the video processing off the CPU and onto the GPU but this requires a substantial re-write of the gaming engine.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Doesn’t work on siege weapons though but it is awesome to drop on a zerg and watch them kill themselves. Makes me laugh every time. It is targeted so you have to target someone first before using it.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
If Mesmers can port through walls, then why can’t the Necromancer?
Because Mesmers cannot port through walls.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
There seems to be some lack of knowledge shown in some posts about how Mesmer portals work.
Mesmers cannot stay perma-stealthed themselves
Mesmers cannot portal into a keep/tower or whatever unless they drop their portal in there first.
Mesmer portal cool down is 1 minute. Once a Mesmer drops one portal, they have 60 seconds to drop the second Portal or the skill goes on cool down for the 1 minute.
Once both portals are down, they only last for approx. 12 seconds and not the 20 seconds on the tooltip.
Mesmers Portal ability is often used as a solo defensive ability on melee and not just for Portal bombs or for getting other players or supplies into towers/keeps.
Portals are often useless in WvW with pugs and are usually only effective with party or guild coordination.

Meteor shower is 100x better than Berserker.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Yeah already went with Runes of Air, however could only afford 3 of them so far.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Ummm….so what AOE ability would a Mesmer have available to them to hit people on top of walls if we had no iberserker?
Hmmmmm?
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
I often use Sword/Focus in WvW for the movement speed. What Sigil do you suggest for the Focus? If I put Fire Sigil on the Focus, would it only proc when using the Focus’ abilities or could it still proc when using sword?
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Are you using Carrion or Rampager’s weapons?
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Looks fun but your link is broken.
What armour/jewelery/sigils/runes are you using?
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
I am currently running the typical 20/20/0/0/30 Shatter build using staff and sword+pistol/focus.
I have Sigil of Energy on my staff for more more endurance for more dodges for more clones. What do you suggest on sword and pistol/focus (I switch between Pistol & Focus).
Also If I was to use greatsword instead of staff, what sigil for that?
For Runes, I am thinking Air for the crit and speed. I am trying to get full berserker’s but may switch a few items up for a little more toughness/vitality eventually.

We are all over 25 years old, so a mature community is preferred.
Yak’s Bend. We might have a silly name but the community is, on the whole, mature. I originally joined YB because it was being talked about as the unofficial server for older players. One of the biggest guilds on YB is The Older Gamers (TOG), who require members to be over 25 years.
Hey Yaks Bend has the best name. Yak attack!
And to the OP seriously Yaks Bend has a very good mature community where everyone strives to create an enjoyable playable atmosphere.
I’m also on Yak’s and Morrolan speaks the truth. As a matter of fact, Yak’s has on many occasions given back Orbs (when they were in the game) or given back ownership of areas (keeps, towers, citadels, etc.) when we were informed or noticed ourselves that the area was taken by exploiting.

You can turn that star off though, right?
Can you? (No sarcasm here, do not know and would be happy to learn the soft way)
Apparently not.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
There is a new elementalist dagger/dagger build out now that totally dominates. I saw a youtube vid of an elementalist soloing a champion and veteran at the same time with easy. As well, I played against this build in wvwvw this weekend and it was destroying groups of people solo.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
You can turn that star off though, right?
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
What armour and runes are people finding the best for these builds? is the PvP armour worth it?
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
I apologize for the hacking comment then. You guys are seriously geared and good players. I just wasn’t expecting some of you guys to roll through us so quickly.
Good times.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Yeah it was an elementalist using that build. 1 man army.
I predict everyone is going to be rolling elementalists soon after watching those vids.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
@Xavi Is he using abilities of every profession? Is he stealthing? What is “groups of people?” 40 people, or 3-4 people not even level 80? An 80 thief in exotics can roll 4-5 maybe even more if they’re low level and a simple steal from a mesmer gives him every buff for a while.
Your post lacks the info needed to make it credible – and screen shots of combat logs would go a long way.
p.s. Are there 15-20 buffs in the game?
@Ekove – it is annoying, but this particular instance wouldn’t have been improved all that much by rendering – he was restealthing almost immediately with C&D. Watch the video. With portal bombing, rendering would help only minimally. For many people the instant render would mean massive lag in which case they couldn’t do anything anyway. The most obvious fix to portal bombing is limit players that can go through to 5 or 10.
Thief nerf will probably be for the revealed debuff to always trigger even when exiting stealth without an attack – that and/or make it so they can’t defend/cap points while stealthed in wvw (like it is in spvp). In the mean time just try to play smart. I spam cluster bomb and detonate it (stacking bleeds and doing aoe) when I see a thief stealthing – that wouldn’t even work on him because his defense is stacked. This is the “bunker” thief you are looking at.
He/she is an elemental and 10 people can’t kill him.

Eredon Terrace Borderlands map
Fort Aspenwood server has a hacker.
Guild Name: Rise of the Omnipotent [GODS]
Sunday night @ 11:15pm CST
He mows groups of people down like nothing and has 15-20 buffs on him like he has every profession. It takes 12-15 people to eventually kill him.
Not nice.

Doing WvWvW without a focus is painful. Very painful.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Pulling people off walls in WvWvW using a focus never gets old.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Happens to me all the time. The real question is, do other people see you sliding or do they see your legs moving normally?
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Mesmer’s already have a couple of forms that they can turn into. These abilities never actually get placed on the elite bar for obvious purposes as they are terrible.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
This is how I think it should work.
Soldier profession : Wears heavy, medium and cloth gear.
Adventurer profession : Wears medium and cloth gear.
Scholar profession : Wears cloth gear.
You may be thinking that the professions who can wear more are at an advantage, but this wouldn’t be the case, it would purely be cosmetic.
Soldier profession : Wears heavy gear.
Adventurer profession : Wears medium and heavy gear.
Scholar profession : Wears heavy, medium and cloth gear.
Now how do you feel about this? Thought so.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Oh, bots, bots, everywhere there’s bots
Blocking up the scenery, tagging my mobs
Do this, don’t do that, can’t you ban the bots?
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Don’t tell everyone this but if you get Moa’d, just run away. Moa is fine. Most Mesmers don’t even use Moa anymore as Time Warp is usually better.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
What armour are you wearing?
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Nice. I love seeing staff in PvP. Care to share your build/traits and what armour/runes/etc you use?
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
I phase retreated and ended up on a cliff above my target. I phase retreated and ended up above in some locked cell that is normally not reachable by a player (luckily blink got me out). I often phase retreat and end up facing away from my target. Often.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Question. Why was DH trying to hit Yak’s so hard when CD was so far in the lead?
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
I hate it. Why not just click-able arrows or being able to type a number in there. The click drag up/down is so lame.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Damage, damage and damage!
Remember, we have tons of survival.
Therefore, I’d work on full berserker. 6x valkyrie orbs in armor if you feel like squishy.
Works good anywhere – dungeons, general pve, www.
What are valkyrie orbs? I cannot find those on the gw2 wiki.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
The good news is I no longer get teleported under the surface or down into water.
The bad news…
When using Phase Retreat last night, one time I ended up on a cliff above the mobs I was fighting. Another time I ended up twice on a deck above me when fighting on a ship. However the best time was when I ended up inside some elevated locked cell in a town with no way out. Luckily Blink worked and got me out.
Most of the other times I used Phase Retreat, I ended up facing away from the target I was trying to kill.
Mesmer Phase Retreat still needs some fine tuning.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
All awesome ideas. Exactly what I was looking for.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Awesome. Thanks for the info.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Okay thanks. I obviously just need more practice to get comfortable.
What about the #1 ability (Mind Slash/Gash/Stab)? Do we use that before or after Blurred Frenzy or do we usually skip it favouring only being in melee when Blurred Frenzy is up?
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Yeah I know iLeap leaps the clone that it creates to my target. I must be interrupting the cast time somehow by maybe trying to use swap to early?
So when do you use #1? After Blurred Frenzy?
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
I find the character facing the wrong direction after Phase Retreat the most annoying bug. I don’t know how many times when fighting one of the world dragons where after using phase retreat I was facing away from the dragon while my character was facing my camera.
Very annoying.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
I have been playing GS/Staff while leveling and wanted to try out Sword/Focus, or Sword/anything.
What is the best way to use Illusionary Leap/Swap? It seems that Leap has a really really small range and if you use it from too far out, no clone is created and you don’t leap at all.
But when you do leap/swap, I assume you use Blurred Frenzy (#2) first and then spam Mind Slash/Gash/Stab (#1) until Blurred Frenzy is over, then get out of melee range?
Is this correct?
The process seems a little awkward and I was thinking Leap would have more range than it does. Also, if you are too close to your target it looks like there is no leap (at least no animation) for it. Does that mean that there is no cripple?
Help me Sword/xxx!
Thanks.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
So Anet, how about banning bots? So…many…bots! Ruins the gaming experience plus they (usually rangers with bears) mow stuff down in their path so fast that I can’t get any credit for my damage.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Lewi, do you mind sharing your shatter build? Looks fun.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Also, stop buying kittening gold and the botters will go away. Seriously.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Unfortunately, that could be abused by random trolls reporting innocent people chatting in towns, making them be automatically blocked even though the report is false.
You don’t understand.
Instead of the current two-step process where you report them (step 1) and then need to block them (step 2), this would make it a one step process. This can hardly be abused and doesn’t affect anyone else.
