Considering that Yak’s has very little EU/Oceanic presence, it’s not hard to predict that we will lose a lot of points during this time. Rocket science.

Well iduelist is probably the only decent Phantasm at the moment.

Yeah I find it totally irritating that when I summon an illusion, that it can attack the nearest enemy, usually an NPC (like a sheep) rather than attacking my target.

Mesmers are not quick… We have 2 ways to get swiftness, curtain and randomly from chaos storm. And to add to that curtain does not stack with any existing swiftness so we have to chuck down a chaos storm after curtain and run through it at such a speed we are lucky not to just get a couple ticks of retaliation.

Even when I run range increase and cool-down reductions on manipulation (for blink) I still find myself painfully slow…

Then again, as previously stated, we are op because we have portal so… Lol

That’s why you need a class that can provide perma-swiftness in your group like warrior or elementalist.

I think a warrior with warhorn is high up there for a 5-man party for the constant speed buff that the class provides. Speed is required for small 5-mans.

Right now, it looks like Yak’s might end up in T4. In any case, it is going to come down to the wire like last week’s very small difference between FA & Yak’s scores.

I know it was much improved the patch before last (thank you) however it is still very buggy. Quite often when I can Illusionary Leap, the Illusion fails to appear at all. I don’t see it being blocked or dodged or anything like that. It often happens when there is a (small) difference in elevation between me and my target. For example, my target is on the road and I am slighly off the road, maybe a foot higher in elevation.

Also the Swap ability, often when it Illusionary Leap does work and I hit Swap, my target is 5 feet ahead of me and I have no chance to catch up. I think the 1s (50%) Cripple should be changed to a 1s Immobilize. Or at the very least, increase the Cripple to 2 sec.

I hope so. Or at the very least, have it it disabled in WvW, sPvp & tPvP.

The complete star is bad for any class as the star is often visible through walls and other terrain.

Yes. Yak’s Bend WvW players fight uphill in a snowstorm, both ways, every week, and love it.

iBerserker is bugged therefore Greatsword is bugged. Phantasms won’t summon if there are LOS issues among other reasons. Switch to staff + sword/focus or pistol imo.

Is that a warrior or guardian? I haven’t tried either one yet and was wondering which class that is.

edit: Nevermind, he is a Guardian.

Osicat, do you feel anything about the changes in the patch? I can see the forum is filled with tears, and everybody say there is hidden nerf (phantasm attack has 0,5-1sec CD before attack, seems iBerserk hit less then before etc)..

iBerserker is bugged and Anet has already addressed that a fix is coming next week.

The completion star is terrible for everyone in WvW and even worse for Mesmers.

I would just like to applaud the Yaks for doing more with less. You consistently have less manpower than FA and TC, and yet (1) your score remains competitive and (2) you continue to bring the fight. It speaks very highly of your resourcefulness, tenacity, and strategy.

In fact, its quite likely that the scoreboard obscures the fact that the Yaks have actually outplayed FA and TC.

Looking through the guild wars 2 wiki, I can get all the armor pieces except chest and gloves that correspond to the ‘rabid’ prefix through karma vendors at the various temples (ie, light arcon helm..). But where can I get the rabid chest and glove pieces?

I know the named Khilbron set also correspond to rabid, but I want chest/glove pieces that I can replace the rune.

You can replace the runes in the Khilborn’s set.

Don’t do 100% map completion if you are a Mesmer. Just saying.

This isn’t a first person shooter.

Yaks’. If it wasn’t for TC’s population and FA’s off-hours representation, the score would be a lot different.

We may be flee ridden but we’re definitely not smelly. I just bathed near the SM watergate last week.

Anyone find mesmer useless when seiging a wall when you’re below with this LOS nerf to mesmer? None of my ability is able to hit anyone on top of the wall unless they come right to the edge. Other classes have lots of aoe to compensate, but mesmer require a target to cast

e.g I can clearly seeing the person on the wall, but since theres a little barricade in front of the person I have targeted, none of my greatsword ability can do any damage to that person because of obstruction

Yeah switch to a Focus and try to pull them off the walls.

Recently xfered to Yaks to find rl friends and lvl 80. Which are the WvW focused guilds? Not 100% hardcore, but WvW is primarily all i care to do.

Yaks Bend is the server for you. We need players in your time zone, we have several WvW focussed guilds, pugs who are willing to listen and learn, and have a never say die attitude. The queue times are minimal.

Badger Spirits is one such guild, primarily focused on WvW. We do some PvE on the side but we’re mostly in WvW. We have our own Mumble server but we also use the Alliance 1000 slot Mumble as well.

I like the underline. It’s a nice touch.

Portal Bombing is not an exploit.
Pulling is not an exploit (it is an ability on their Focus).
Any class can exploit/glitch their way on cliffs and some towers. This has nothing to do with Mesmers.

Again, another thread where the OP doesn’t have a clue about the class he is dying to.

Another Mesmer in my guild has Twilight.

At least remove the ability to build siege weapons in jumping puzzles.

Mesmers have a lot of bugs with their class, some traits don’t work, etc. However good Mesmers can 3v1.

I started 20/20/0/0/30 with Greatsword but have since switched (mostly) to 10/30/0/0/30 Staff+Sword+Pistol.

I run all exotic Berserker armour with Superior Runes of Air.
I use Sigil of Energy on Staff, Sigil of Fire on Pistol and Sigil of Force on Sword.

I am still upgrading my Jewelery but I think I will go all Berserker Jewelery but throw in some toughness/vitality orbs as Berserker is a glass-canon build and is very squishy.

For dungeons, I do switch up my traits a bit to be less squishy, selecting some supporting traits in Toughness and/or Vitality.

If you went 20/20/0/0/30 you could get Illusionary Persona which not only lets you become the 4th shatter (3 clones + you), but it now allows you to use your Shatter abilities without any clones up at all which is useful for using Shatter 3 or 4 for defensive use.

OK – question was not so much what shatter 3 does but rather how it would do anything with no clones up. You answered that, shatter 3 still gives you a brief daze even if no clones up to shatter. Shatters still give you something even when you have nothing o.O Correct me if i misunderstand please.

None of the Shatter Skills 1-4 will work without clones unless you have 30 points in Illusions for Illusionary Persona. You also become the 4th shatter (3 clones and you).
