Tonics win? How about looking at this issue that you broke last patch?

It is very noticeable at times. For example, if you use a Shatter then Distortion right after you can avoid a possible downing by a backstab thief. The .25 sec got me downed the other night because I could not Distortion fast enough.

Also, why the nerf to Illusionary Persona? If we have this 30 point trait and act as our own 4th shatter, we should get a 4th stack of Might like it was pre-patch.

Over-nerfed class is over-nerfed.

We don’t talk about Trident.

The 0/20/20/0/30 build can also be a condition build.

I’m not sure where people are getting numbers from claiming that it does indeed proc, because it shouldnt.

It gives a +60% chance to bleed targets on crit. This means that if you have no traits that give you a %chance to bleed (like engi and necro traits) you will get nothing out of the sigil. You must be able to proc a bleed in the first place for this to work.

It doesn’t say you need to be able to bleed the target first. It just says if you crit, 60% chance that you will cause the target to bleed. If I recall correctly, this sigil has been bugged since launch.

Mass Invis really needs a buff though. An elite on a longish cooldown, with a cast delay with a short invis that only affects up to 5 players in a small range. Time Warp is so much better but Mass Invis does have its uses.

Good post but this was already known and is one of the reasons why Compounding Power is used in the standard shatter builds. See Osicats thread.

Yes in the last patch, Anet failed to mention that they removed the extra Might stack that you would have gotten if you had 30 points in Illusionary Persona. Now you can only get a max of three stacks of Might if you have 3 illusions out. Pretty weak imo.

Knight’s is actually Toughness/Power/Precision with power and precision being the minor stats. You do want as much Precision as you can get though because crits will give you vigor which equates to being able to dodge more and pump out more clones. The toughness though will keep you alive.

There is no point to this thread. Rating commanders publicly on the forums is pointless and would do more harm than good.

In your situation, I would look at Flimpy’s build/setup. It is power/tough/prec with Knight’s set and some vitality on weapons. Staff with Sword+Torch.

You really need to keybind though. Clicking in an MMO (or other games for that matter) will only limit your success.

I use a Belkin (Razer) Nostromo keypad with a Logitech G700 mouse. Pretty much every weapon ability, utility or other skill is easily keybound. I only use the keyboard for bringing up other windows and typing to people.

I honestly don’t think that you can take those charts too literally. The scores they publish seem to lag the actual timings and they simply aren’t updated enough to show the effect of the timezones.

I work erratic hours and simple observation tells me that DB is massively ahead during Asian peak hours and tends to lag behind in NA peak times. That’s not a criticism either just a statement of fact

If your statement was true then yaks should be able to close the gap during NA prime time. but as the score reflects your server cannot do so because our NA crew can effectively keep your income in check. So either DBs NA is getting stronger and more effective or your server is becoming weaker and less effective.

We know DB’s NA period has gotten stronger. We know you had some NA transfer in. We know. We also know we have almost no Asian coverage when we are at work which is the reason for the big point ticks when you golem all our gates down and re-colour our map. We know.

Just going to throw this out to Yaks Bend, all servers have exploiters, that’s unavoidable. But do you honestly believe that after what happened yesterday, and the amount of times you have been portalled into inner SM that DB has not been checking over and over and over every single place with Stonemist? Do you honestly believe that the mesmer has been going unavoided for hours on end? We literally have been keeping 10-20 people in SM inner constantly searching and waiting for the mesmer to portal you in.

I’m not here with any evidence of the mesmer himself wall exploiting, it’s the wrong place for it. But can you be so naive to think that he is legitimate? Please, stop accepting his portals hours after we have flipped SM. There is honestly no place we haven’t checked, we have found several exploiting in the walls, but I’m not here to report that mesmer. I am here asking you, as a server, stop accepting the portals of an exploiter.

Wispy, I invite you and anyone else for that matter, to go register at yaksbend.com and read our public forums concerning WvW. We do not tolerate cheating, hacks, exploits, whatever. You will find post after post of our commanders preaching to anyone that will listen, that this is not how we roll, and this is not the reputation that we want. We want to keep the play real, win or lose.

If you can provide a screenshot of anyone on Yaks Bend exploiting, cheating, or hacking, I can guarantee you they will be dealt with quickly.

We pride ourselves on being competitive, having a never-say-die attitude, great community, and a zero tolerance policy on cheating, or even something that would be considered ‘shady’. (ie, going into another servers voice chat and relaying to our commanders what they are doing.)

We can’t control everyone, and we do our best to let everyone know that this is not tolerated. If a Yak’s Bend player is seen cheating, we would actually welcome and encourage you to send us screenshots, preferably to yaksbend.com, so we can take action. I fully understand that getting screenshots can be difficult, but you have to understand that we can’t take action unless we have indisputable proof. Because, as has been pointed out already, as unlikely as you feel it is because of your extensive sweeps, there exists the possibility that someone has found an effective legit hidey-hole.

Having spent hours running with just about every commander on Yaks, I would find it extremely difficult to believe any of them would instruct anyone to utilize a portal created by a mesmer that knowingly exploited/hacked thier way into a building. As far as they knew, it was legit.

Just my 2 cents, take it for what it’s worth.

I have almost the exact same screenshot of Emhry Bay doing the same thing. I agree that it is pretty weak sitting in an invulnerable area and when I see players (on any server) doing this, I just back up into the camp and wait there.

Also for some reason Mesmers just using their normal auto attacks get obstructed when attacking those on the tower walls while other classes don’t get obstructed and can hit their opponents.

What runes and Sigils did you go with Seven?

5 Points in Illusions and 20 Points in Dueling for Deceptive Evasion is the baseline for 90% of all Mesmer builds.

Which ones for under water weapons? I was thinking trident should have Condition dmg even with Shatter spec due to trident clones.

Yak’s Bend has a 1000-slot Mumble server that is used for WvW. It also hosts a small number of WvW based guilds who pay to have their own separate channels. This works well but it is still a challenge to get pugs to log into any voice comm.

Regardless of what anyone says, the very first 5 points you spend should be in Illusions for Illlusionists Celerity.

Nope, if your target dies, the illusions will shatter where they are standing and not where your target died. This is one of the reasons why our Shatter AoE can be so unpredictable and terrible.

Prior to the patch, Mesmers also got stacks of Might if they had Illusionary Persona (30 points in Illusions) where they could be the 4th shatter. Since the patch, we now can only get 3 stacks of Might instead of 4 stacks.

It seems that this has been taken away. Why?

Yes you will now have a .25 sec CD between F2-F3 or between any shatters.

D/D Eles being able to solo 10 opponents is not OP.

I have had at least 3 precursors drop however I couldn’t get them because they were still in the loot bags on the ground next to my dead body. But I know there were at least 3 precursors in them.

When leveling, stack power. Condition is pretty terrible for PvE, even at Lvl 80. I suggest going Greatsword+Staff at least until you have 5 points in Illusions (mandatory for all specs) and 20 points in Dueling for Deceptive Evasion.

High up, you can try sword/pistol is you like so that you get the hang of it at lvl 80.

Basically until you hit level 40ish, leveling a Mesmer is slow and kind of sucks but we get better the closer we get to 80.

Clones won’t hold aggro so getting 3 up and Shattering is generally the way to go.

Completely untrue. There are spots (a supply camp comes to mind) where people can stand and be completely immune to damage while killing other players.

That SW supply camp is next to the spawn, hence invulnerability.

I would like to commend Ehmry Bay for their tenacious defense of Hills on their borderland. For the last couple of days, YB has been pounding at the gates and every time we got inside the outer wall, you pushed us back.

We were even in the Lord’s room at one point but the amount of siege you had in there was disgusting and lead to us wiping.

Please vacate the premises before we get really really angry.
