Also you don’t have to get pigeon holed into only one build. I have 3 sets of armour (Berserker’s, Knights, Rabid) and working on a 4th SVT set to try the Immortal Build. Trying different builds help you to understand the class and traits that you might have never used if you were to stick with one build. I think I’m up to 3 or 4 different 1H swords, 2 focus’, 3 staffs (staves?), 2 greatswords and other random weapons as well, plus variations for jewelery.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Yes, a Mod deleted my post saying that if you allow someone to rez a mesmer by the door it’s YOUR fault and it’s not hacking. W/E.
If it’s an exploit they can remove it. I still don’t think it’s an exploit AND I know it’s easily countered.
Yeah if you mean having to camp that dead Mesmer for hours then for sure it’s easily countered.
/sarcasm
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Solo roaming as a Mesmer is fun. A zerg will crush you and a 5-man will probably kill you but you can win 1v1 or even 1v3.
The problem with solo roaming though is that you aren’t really helping to do anything constructive for your team on the map.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
The three runes mentioned in the first post all have 3 different main stats on it (lyssa= prec, centaur = power, undead = cond+toughness).
The three runes mentioned in the first post all have 3 different main stats on it (lyssa= prec, centaur = swiftness, undead = cond+toughness).
Fixed.
The only reason to use Centaur is for Swiftness (for primarily WvW) if you aren’t using a focus.

Except the majority don’t mind the butterflies as they are. Besides, would rather have them spend their time fixing bugs than changing colours.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
The first 5 trait points should be in illusions for Illusionist’s Celerity. This reduces the cooldown on all weapon skills that summons illusions by 20%. Most Mesmer builds take this trait at the very least.

Butterflies = Chaos Theory
Killing with pink/purple butterflies = priceless

[KOME] You really need to stop exploiting the doors to our towers and keeps and coming back ressing a certain type of class from the outside and getting in.
You already have 50v10 which you like to point out with continuously /laughing when attacking our keeps/towers legitimately the first time.
Getting to the point where I have zero respect for CD due to the continuous use of this exploit.
Hiya,
The exploit, you mean is the Mesmer dying by the door and being Ress from outside putting a portal and getting an army in?
If that is it, it is a trick we learned from our opponents many many
Months ago. Many servers have learnt to counter this trick (u figure out yourself). No one complain about it for weeks and some of the opposing guilds even complimented us and wanted to train their Mesmer on this trick within their guilds.
I am tempted to insult you back for insulting us, but we are generally nice people, so We will reject your claims of exploiting, cheerfully and thank the gods that Anet left these tricks and treats that we can use, to out manuvuer our opponents.
Just because you saw others doing it doesn’t make it right. It is an exploit and don’t try to justify it otherwise. Don’t give CD a bad rep.

The problem with this is that the Clone is still a Clone wielding a Sword. By design, all Clones will attempt to attack with their current weapon, meaning that the Clone will attempt to walk forward and attack with it’s sword.
Yeah. Except there’s anything closer to you than your current target, in which case it’ll happily attack that because of its great “AI”.
Working as intended. If I am in combat with my target and a thief jumps me from close range, I do a dodge roll and WANT a clone to be generated that aggros the thief. Again, this is working as intended.
Also for Illusionary Leap, I find if you perform your leap too soon after you create your clone, the chance of the leap failing is higher. Try waiting a split second longer to ensure your clone gets to the target before leaping. Of course this won’t fix the problem when your clones doesn’t even leap but just slowly runs after your target.

You need to think outside the box guys:
I want the Nightmare Court Whip for my mesmer!!!!![]()

The one thing I’m not sure about here is, I recall reading somewhere that multiple illusions do not evenly split shatter damage, the way Dastion just averaged them together. Rather, #1 does less damage than #2, and #2 less than #3, and #3 less than IP self-shatter. And the actual damage amount each does changes depending on how many illusions are shattered.
At least that’s what I recall reading in the thread I’m still searching for. Though on the other hand I would have though Dastion would have seen that in his combat log when running his steady weapon tests, and mentioned it. So… not sure, going to have to test this myself later when I get a chance.
Your are probably thinking of Compounding Power (Illusions III) where it is “3% more damage for each of your active illusions” which does increase shatter damage. Thus when you shatter, the first clone shatters at 9% more damage, the second at 6% more and third at 3% more damage. IP isn’t affected by this trait though.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Mainhand Pistol would be great because the mostly terrible scepter is our only ranged 1 hander. Buffing Scepter would also be great.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
The Mesmer is OP because:
- Class with one of the highest amount of access to boons and a LOT of boons.
LOL What? Really?
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
I didn’t see another one of these threads coming due to culling.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
I think T8 just needs a reset.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
They really screwed the pooch on the crafting in this game. There is absolutely no reason to bother with it. It’s often more expensive to craft the things you want than to just buy it off the TP.
It’s pretty much just become a leveling mechanic for the rich. If you have 100’s of gold, you can get to Lv80 without stepping foot out of your homeworld.
Well you can still gain 10+ levels per profession by crafting. Leveling two professions is 20+ levels. Some crafting professions are relatively cheap to level.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
it’s technically arena nets fault for not having oceanic servers, but if you can’t comprehend why people get mad at “night capping” then you’re delusional and obviously on a server with alot more people on while others sleep.
I wonder what it would be like if there were no regional servers at all. Then all servers would have a 24×7 distribution of some sort.
Server latency would be the issue then.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
I’ll be happy if you guys beat us this week. I hate being right, but I think my server needs to get off her high horse and face facts, that we need more practice and training, and we’re not really prepared for higher tiers yet.
To my fellow CD players, we don’t need to justify anything.
Let’s just enjoy the remaining week. And fight our hardest when we can.
There’s a big gap between Tier 3 and Tier 4, so whoever moves up is going to probably get blasted.
Still, that won’t stop us from fighting the good fight…
This x 1000.
Whoever moves to T3 should be prepared for a pixel enema.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Quit whining about culling. They are working on it.
Also skipping queues to play with your friends is a terrible idea.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Yeah, I agree. I still remember the horrors when a Mesmer portal 8 golems to a gate with oil still on while working on a SBI keep. Ended up with melted
Metal. Effort yes, but need more training. We are still tier 7 overall.
I don’t think CD is a tier 7 server at all. Your Oceanic/Euro timezone coverage is great and your NA coverage isn’t bad. CD is holding it’s own during NA prime time compared to YB’s non-prime time.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |

MOS is accurate. Those should be very close to the match-ups starting later today.
All those servers in tiers 1-3 should expect long queue times.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Unless they can 1000000000% be certain that they can’t be hacked, no. A thousand times no. I’m not dealing with that crap again.
Agreed.
And since that is impossible due to the hacking programs that are out there, Anet needs drop the idea of Orbs for good and come up with a different mechanic.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
They removed being able to see Invader player names a long time ago.
You can go into your settings and set the level of gear you see on your opponents. You can set it to use pre-made models/colours or set it to show what they really are wearing. The latter may affect playability depending on how powerful your PC is.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
I believe it is 7:00 pm CST if you are NA. Takes about 10-20 minutes for WvW to become available after that.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
As far as exploits go this one’s pretty tame though right? I mean, what can he really do there besides kill an afk person or two? I realize that’s not the point but if this is the worst thing that happens during our matchup I think we should all consider ourselves lucky.
You can’t even kill people there, as everyone in the citadel area has the invincibility buff. All you can do is run around until the guards kill you.
He would be able to see if we might be hiding golems there. He could also kill NPCs as well.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Rampager’s doesn’t have any toughness or vitality.
Carrion does have vitality but vitality is only so good in wvw
Another option is Rabid’s gear which is prec/toughness/condition
Keep in mind that for PvE, conditions aren’t as strong as they are in wvw, especially confusion.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Here we go… here’s the costume described above. Color scheme goes like this:
Head – Gunmetal, Abyss, Cotton Candy
Shoulder – Lipstick, Gunmetal, Abyss
Chest – Gunmetal, Ocean, Abyss
Hands – Gunmetal, Abyss, Dewdrop
Legs – Gunmetal, Ocean, Abyss
Feet – Mithril, Gunmetal, AbyssWhat gs is that?

15 points in Dueling for Sharper Images and clones cast bleeds when you crit. This works especially well with Staff clones and WoC.
Scepter clones do not benefit from Sharper Images and therefore do not apply bleeds.

Mesmer
Portal Exeunt
Create an exit portal.
Duration: 20 s
Duration is more like 10 sec. Either the ability is bugged or the tool tip is incorrect.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
It’s terrible. No decent, skilled player has the money or (if they do) would buy this for 100 gold. As a result, we only have unskilled and clueless commanders.
That is the dumbest comment I have ever heard.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
I think leaving wvw via Lion’s Arch portal is the best way to ensure that the game knows that the player did leave the map and to allow those in queue to get in.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
You guys know that many guilds left CD right? I’m sure we have the same number of people online if not you guys have more.
We know some guilds left CD however it wasn’t really your Oceanic/Euro guilds. You’re getting 600+ ticks right now while I am stuck at work.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
I think I may just have to try the scepter so I can run with 2 off hands, but it’s going to be really hard to give up the staff. I can see myself on my kitten a lot.
I’ve been toying around with this idea too, I’m so used to the staff it’s practically lazy mode.
Don’t be lazy Jalliel!

PS: Need moar AC runs.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Lets see your combat logs. A 4-clone Mind Wrack could hit for 4×4k=16k dmg maybe. The Mesmer never hit you with one attack.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Veil
Create a wall that grants stealth to you and your allies.
Stealth: 3 s
Curtain duration: 8 s
Combo Field: Light
Range: 900
Bugged – currently creates an Ethereal Field, not a light field.
While you are fixing it, cooldown (90 sec) is way too long.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Confusion from Trident clones was a bug that was fixed last patch.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Summon 3 clones, hit F1. Then while they move towards your target, summon 3 more quickly (Mirror Images, Decoy), hit F2 to Shatter again. Now you have 6 out.
Works better if they are chasing your target.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Many servers are sandbagging right now.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
I stand corrected as I thought it was changed a while back. MI affects 10 players.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Mass Invis only affects 5 people, is an elite skill with a 3 sec cast-time on a long cooldown. Maybe you are thinking of Veil?
Time Warp only affects 5 people.
Mesmer’s aren’t the only class that can ‘pull’ people. Changing this ability would break the weapon (Focus) as this ability does more than just pull people.
Mesmer’s iBerserker requires LoS and more than often won’t spawn on walls and puts the ability on cooldown.
Mesmer’s are considered one of the worst classes for sieging due to lack of AoE to hit siege or players on walls.
Portal has been nerfed like 4+ times already.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Where do you get the soldier back piece from? Is it a karma item?
Added to Karma vendors last patch.
