Null Field is great on certain Fractals like Dredge to remove buffs from the mobs.
I also rotate Feedback, Ether Feast, Manta of Resolve, Mantra of Recovery, Mantra of Concentration (stability), Blink, Mass Invis, (when on the switch in cage in Dredge), Mimic (Hi Mossman), Time Warp.

10/30/0/20/10 for reflects

Sword/Focus (when you need reflects) + Sword/Sword or Sword/Pistol
I only use Greatsword for very rare occasions – e.g. Jade Maw, Last Dredge Boss, new Molten Champs Fractal final bosses (Berserker and Molten).

Any Mesmer using this PU build and Shattering is doing it wrong. This is not a shatter build so quit talking about shatters.

The PU build is weak to:

1. Condition removal
2. Lack of CC
3. Weaker against multiple targets or opponents that have pets/minions (ironically, a shatter / phantasm mesmer can be tough to beat with this build)
4. Swiftness (unless using a Traveler’s Rune version)

Have you attempted to use it for PVE Natsu? If so, please share your thoughts and analysis using it in Fractals & dungeons etc. It cannot be that marginally weaker for PVE… but what do I know?

I’ve worked on my Rabid set including ascended items; I just wouldn’t wanna grind for a berserker set for PVE (shatter spec) if I don’t have to :/

All condition builds are terrible for PvE. Use Berserker for PvE, dungeons and Fractals. As well, Shatter isn’t nearly as good for PvE as a Phantasm build (e.g. 10/30/0/20/10).

This has been the most historic match up of all time.

Yak’s Bend didn’t go after SBI because of some chest thumping, we went after SBI because they were the bigger threat and because they beat us last match. Everything else just fell into place afterwords.

We beat them. Just like the rest of the servers that hate us.

Its more like you beat us + chest thumping. Many servers wont like you when you bandwagoned your way through silver league servers, then in every match up thread you said something along the line of “You guys are boring, we belong in the gold league.”

I would love to see where we said “we belong in gold league” … Because I know for a fact SBI couldn’t last in gold league. I wouldn’t take a word for granted with any of SBIs pugs say. Of course we have bandwagons. Any winning server is going to get people that bandwagon to a winning team. I’m glad we lost, not happy that we lost because of 2v1ing, but none the less happy because we got the people who don’t give two kittens about WvW out. I can’t wait till all those bandwagon pugs/guilds move to YB or FA and you end up being the exact thing that you hate about SBI.

Just wanted to congratulate YB on the win this week. I have never believed that a formal alliance between two servers could actually work long term. I know many deny it here but I saw too many times when we were fighting both YB and EB for the same ground when they were not fighting each other. And I am sure it wasn’t absolutely every player on both servers. But large guilds on both sides were involved. It has resulted in many fun fights and that is what the majority of SBI players are looking for, it really has been a fun week for me.

Winning the last few matches have been boring and mainly PvD..which kinda made us a little complacent I think. So we were ripe for this kind of upset. Plus we got lots of PPT in those matches almost by accident. We don’t really play the PPT game.

It was disappointing to see that some YB players even after you had a big lead thought it would be funny to troll us with alt accounts on our server. yeah I hear we did too in response. Every server has them I guess…and it doesn’t reflect on the whole server IMO.

What seems to be happening now though seems more like “match manipulation” to me. I have no problem with 2v1’s…that is exactly why there are 3 servers involved so the two weaker can have a chance vs the stronger and every home BL will and should be 2v1 for this format to make sense.

But when the winning server starts trying to influence 2nd place(which will also influence 2nd place in the league) by only focusing one server and seems to even be letting the 3rd place server take their own assists to help them pump up their score…that starts to smell bad IMO.

SBI does not deserve 1st place this week. But we sure don’t deserve 3rd through this kind of manipulation if that is what is going on.

In any case GG YB and EB. Have fun and good hunting. I am sure we will meet again.

Except Ranger…traveler runes aren’t very practical on a ranger.

iWarden was better before this change.

I think I just saw a 50-man Yak’s bend zerg protecting a 30-man Ehmry Bay zerg who was walking their Dolyak to Hills.

Mind blown.

iWarden was fine before when it was stationary. It was also very effective 1v1 when doing a curtain pull – warden – immobilize – blade fury, although the nerf to curtain pull made it a little less effective because it sometimes telegraphed your intentions to an experienced opponent.

Condition damage is really only for necros. All other classes condition damage is inadequate due to the scaling and lack of stacking the necromancer has. Zerger is the way to go.

After using Bandicam (free version) for quite a while, I switched to MSI Afterburner (also free) and much prefer Afterburner over Bandicam.

Bandicam won’t lag your system but the recording quality is not nearly as good as MSI Afterburner. As well, the free version of Bandicam will only record 10 minutes maximum and leaves a ‘Bandicam’ watermark at the top of the screen (it covers the PPT time/score box at the top middle of your screen in WvW) and is only removable if you purchase the free version.

MSI Afterburner is also light on your PC so you shouldn’t notice too much of an FPS drop. The picture quality is much better than Bandicam (very close to Fraps quality). Just experiment with the video recording settings (there are only a few) properly. You should also turn off the overclocking feature of MSI Afterburner. The only downside to MSI Afterburner is if I open Afterburner first, GW2 won’t launch and will give an error. Launching GW2 first then MSI Afterburner avoids this problem.

Fraps – The best picture quality but can really slow down your PC. However the picture quality isn’t much better than MSI Afterburner.

Right now, MSI Afterburner is my favourite. I use Windows Movie Maker to do everything else.

Keep in mind that if you have a crap PC, you probably shouldn’t run any recording software. Also, make sure that your recording are being saved to a different hard drive then your OS and GW2 which should help.

Hmm. If I first vlose MSI Afterburner while gw2 is running, it crashes :P

So:

1. run msi aferburner
2. gw2
3. close msi afterburner
4. gw2 crashes

Or:

1. start gw2
2. then msi afterburner
3. close msi aferburner
4. crash :P

I just try not to close it, and its fine.

edit: btw, sony vegas 11 has a free trial you can use first. Much better than windows movie maker too… It does almost nothing :/.

Does that work mid-combat?

I haven’t tested it but I’m sure it does although you would have to open your inventory (or keep the top left inventory slot visible by dragging your inventory off the screen to the bottom-right hand side), click on the potion, press 6 to leave the transformation (same slot as heal) to get swiftness would get bothersome while in combat.

If you’re in a fight and just using your heal to get swiftness in my opinion is probably risky and a waste of a heal unless you are chasing. One of the reasons why Traveler runes are so much better.

Well, if it worked, I could see myself summonning a warden to ranged enemies and forgettign about them while I get rid of the close combat ones.

With stationary warden this does not work. As soon as I make a blink or a dodge to avoid a close combat attack I get out of its protection.

Well I’m thinking more along the lines of Dredge Fractal where you aggro 10-15 Dredge then stack and use reflects. I want the phantasm near or on the party for reflects, not running away if it’s target moves away.

Your WvW traits/gear should be different than your PvE traits/gear which may be different than your Dungeon traits/gear which may be different than your Fractals traits/gear.

There is no one build/traits/gear that is good for all of them.

They should have kept it stationary. I hide in my iwarden for reflects first, damage second.

Ascended from laurels

Multiple ways to get Ascended trinkets. If you do fractals, you will get 20+ rings that either you will never use or that you can use for alts.

10/30/0/30/0 is also very viable. Use sword/sword or sword/pistol or sword/focus (usually I take focus and swap out the other off-hand).

I used to use 10/30/0/30/0 but I find Compounding Power (3% extra damage/illusion) is stronger than an extra 2 sec on Glamours (Feedback, Null Field) so I switched to 10/30/0/20/10.

Kill the mesmer that moa’d you.

Time Warp gives you 1 sec of Quickness for 10 sec for up to 5 players. Cast it on yourselves. Monsters don’t move out of it. Quickness is 50% faster actions.

Centaur are okay but won’t give you 100% swiftness by themselves. I suggest you buy an exotic Cold Potion off the TP for some silver. Re-using the Cold Potion on CD along with Centaur runes will give you pretty much 100% swiftness and the best part is you don’t have to waste you heal.

Chaos Gun dropped for me 2 days ago. Sold it 1 hour later.

Full Zerker everything
10/30/0/20/10 (usually) Phantasm build
Sword/Focus and Sword/Sword or Sword/Pistol mostly (you only need 2 swords total)
Greatsword for very rare occasions

Use this:

Endurance Food

If I could have any one speed signet ported over from another profession, it would definitely be Signet of Air from elementalist. 25% speed with an AoE blind and stunbreaker on a 30 second cooldown click.

Still, even that would be a hard sell for me on a mesmer. On a cramped skill bar, if I need to trim down to just one stun breaker, it would still be Blink.

Yeah I’ve always wished we had 25% Movement Speed on Decoy as a passive and when you use Decoy, you lose the 25% swiftness.

Many rangers run condition/healing or power/healing specs and can regen health faster than you can damage them. Their pets also remove conditions from them every 10 sec. They are pretty hard to kill and still do decent damage to you.
