Here is an interesting read on Power vs Precision.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
There are a few shatter builds that aren’t really dead. Osicat’s Shatter Heavy 3.0 build still works well as it uses Hoelbrak runes (-20% condition duration and -40% conditional duration Food for a total of -60% condition duration (reduces stuns too).
It is still viable, especially in groups where you can contribute Might to your group via Signet of Inspiration because the build stacks Might using AoE Interrupts (Bountiful Interruption) via Focus pull, F3 daze and Chaos Storm daze.

How is condition ever better than power for PvE?
Besides, the 6th rune bonus isn’t very good for PvE. replacing it with one rune of the Krait (+28 Condition dmg) or even a jewel would be a dps increase over 6/6 perplexity.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Yeah just read that Blackgate has killed Teq.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
So it looks like Mesmers are pretty brutal in this fight with illusions not lasting very long. A Mesmer guildie of mine said that by standing at Teq’s tail he could draw the aggro of all the abominations (giants) and keep them distracted at the tail and off everyone else.
Any tips/tricks that you have encountered?
PS: I don’t even know if Teq has been beaten yet.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
I only noticed this when fighting Golem Mark II but my pistol phantasms were showing up looking like clones. This has only been happening since the patch.
Anyone else seeing this?
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
There are really no ‘healer’ classes in GW2. All classes can sort of heal to some extent but whether this is really worth it or not depends on the situation. Often, healing is not as important as is killing things faster.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Get rid of zergs – problem solved. Seriously.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
If Anet can screw up the game by adding ascended weapons then surely they can make the same mistake twice by adding ascended armour.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
link to the super secret leaked patch notes anyone?
never mind found it.

Ha
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
lol @ conditions for pve.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Lol. My Mesmer has 6 different sets of armour and over 35 different weapons. Re-traiting is cheap. Having multiple sets of armour with different runes is generally better than destroying expensive runes.
The only limiting factor is bank space/bag space.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Reading between the lines, you want a Phantasm build to be more viable when fighting zergs, correct? Not going to happen.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
I always enjoy your Mesmer and Necro vids Sonsotix but man you have to break the habit and bind those utilities!
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Seems like a nerf to me.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
I’m not sure I would use rampager’s in wvw either. GC thief will down you in 2-3 hits.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
What’s your crit %?
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Not seeing any video at this time.

Are you using Dire or Rabid staff? Your build is incomplete in the link.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
iLeap has been failing for me more often lately.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Oh I thought I read of a hidden nerf last patch – I must be thinking of a different trait.
Thanks.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
With the nerf (15 sec icd) to Weakening Shroud, does that make Hemophilia better now? Is there an easy answer for a wvw or spvp conditionmancer. I seem to flip flop between them without any reason.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
It’s all in the interrupts.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
I’m sandbagging as others are.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Why not more WXP or MF buff?
Why not GOLD FIND buff?
Why not some moar PVE buff?
Why not some upgrade tower/keep specific buff?
Why not NPC defense buff?
Why not bro, just why not?How about this: You get extra 5 min buff on lords for each bloodlust that you have?
There are gazillion number of better implementation than the current one and only a few number of worse implementation than the current one.
On a side note: I really want to WvW to get better and trying to help for it.
This.
Maybe Bloodlust refreshes your consumable times.
Maybe Bloodlust increases chances for ascended items/materials to drop.
Anything but making more WvW imbalances is going to make things worse.

I’m kind of annoyed that an engineer is better at confusion than a mesmer.
This.
Mesmers who are supposed to be ‘THE’ confusion class meanwhile other classes are running around with these runes and doing way more confusion. These runes are good for a Mesmer but OP on engineers and some other classes.

Ascended = death of alts.

Can’t wait for 2013!
We are in 2013 Alreaddy
So where’s the new legendaries?
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Having never played a power necro, I would have loved to see some game play in that video.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
yes. no. maybe.

Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Actually, we should have a remove condition on dodge (10 sec cd) minor trait.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Reduce Null field CD slightly and/or have it strip all conditions on each pulse.
Reduce Arcane Thievery CD slightly and remove the cast time.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Mesmer’s currently have the short end of the stick in the current condition heavy meta.
However check out Osicat’s Shatter Heavy 3.0 build which I have been playing with decent success. It uses Hoelbrak runes (-20% condition/stun duration) and food (-40% condition/stun) for a total -60% reduction all the while stacking Might via interrupts (Bountiful Interruption) which then can be shared to your group (Signet of Inspiration).
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Depends on what you’re giving up. If you are giving up Hoelbrak runes for might stacking in conjunction with Bountiful Interruption, I would say no.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Your brain.
:D
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
They updated the clouds and it has different daytime (clouds are white with white glow) and night time effects (clouds are dark with pinkish tint). Footsteps were added as well.
Other than that it’s effects don’t change with regards to class.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Awesome!
:D
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
I think Chaotic Dampening is not needed. This is very similar to Osicat’s Shatter Heavy 3.0 build which also takes Bountiful Interruption over Chaotic Dampening (also uses Hoelbrak runes).
I like the change to off-hand sword over pistol. Taking Blink over Decoy might be tough as I like the target drop on Decoy, never mind the clone that is spawned.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
8/10, love that helm/hat. One of my favourites!
Which gloves give the skeletal bones look?
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Conditions aren’t the best for PvE and confusion is even worse.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Staff is really more of a support weapon than a main weapon.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Sensotix,
How do you compare this to your tpvp Shatter/Boon removal build?
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
You actually need 7 for a full set. Don’t forget your aquabreather.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Another one of these topics of other classes trying to get us nerfed. Again. Seriously, after that last deathly patch you aren’t satisfied? Not like we can fight against it either since Anet favors all BUT necros.
Mesmer=Guardian>Ele=Thief>Ranger>Engie>Warrior=Necro
(order of equal being who is still taken first into consideration, but with same amount of thought put into it).
Outdated list is outdated.
Angry Intent [AI] | Yak’s Bend |
Hi all,
My main is a Mesmer and have been playing it since launch however I recently leveled a Necro to 80, running full rabid 30/20/0/0/20 Dhumm/Fear/Terror build with Scepter/Dagger + Staff and having a blast.
Could anyone give me advice on using Deathshroud?
What I know so far is when I go into Deathshroud, I use #5 Tainted Shackles, then #3 Doom for the Fear. Sometimes I will use #2 Dark path before Tainted Shackles to get to melee range.
Now I understand that after I use #5 Tainted Shackles, I can leave DS and it will still work.
Some questions I have:
1. Should I almost always use Dark Path for the Bleeding and Chill?
2. When should #4 Life Transfer be used?
3. Is it best to stay in DS and use #1 Life Blast? Is the damage decent or should one get out of DS to conserve Life Force?
Any tips would be appreciated!

Then change the 10 sec of swiftness to 6 sec of Torment.
