Edit: Sorry, I am going to partially cut this down. Any questions I am going to try to ask will be before or after the gw2 pax party at respectable times, meaning if you’re going to pax, you could potentially ask as well (Once again, still doesn’t mean I will for sure be able to ask any or get answers). You are also free to ask questions for me, not devs, about the event and, only if allowed, I will let you know. As of now, I am only mainly doing this for those who won’t get selected and submitted entries or those who submitted entries even though they knew they couldn’t make it.

Edit: Omg omg omg! Found out later today that one of my friends got access to the gw2 party. If anyone has any requests that didn’t or won’t get access feel free to let me know. I’m going to create a new thread in the mesmer section for any reasonable questions that I may potentially have a chance to ask (Doesn’t mean I’ll be able to get any answers or for sure be able to ask any, just means I’ll see). Feel free to let me know if you have any questions or other requests, don’t worry, doesn’t need to be mesmer related.

Shatter has never counted as a illusion death, so don’t think this would work with the bug, but who knows. Never tested it after the most recent patch yet.
Schrödingers Clone: PvP Mesmer
Both staff and rifle could have worked for the thief. The problem is that you are never going to get a commando/army feel out of the warrior as all their heavy armor looks like bulky metal. Likewise, you can’t pull off a cowboy look with the warrior. Warriors also don’t use pistols. Therefore, it is unlikely I will switch to the warrior for a gunslinger or commando or cowboy feel. Thief had potential to do this if they got rifle and some traits. Right now I run pistol pistol/pistol pistol on my thief because its the only thing I can find to match this vibe. Needless to say, its a little lacking. From the video posted, it seems like berserkers are more going to be rampaging in with a shotgun. Likewise, the engineer feels like a mad scientist. The rifle feels like a “gizmo” rather than an actual gun. I just want a ranger or guns rather than bows. Don’t care what class I have to level to get it.

I agree, I always thought it would be nice to have some story missions to pass before you could become a chronomancer, dragon hunter, reaper, etc. However, it sounds like this will not be the case. They make it sound like we are going to be able to spec into the chronomancer right away if we have hero points. Kinda disappointed by this.

All I know is my current thief has somethin to say to Anet.
p.s. I think he wants his rifle
On a second note, maybe its a secret spy gun cane

Can’t give a lot of info on the necro since I don’t play it. From others opinions in videos, they say it is a very good class at wvw zerging with death shroud and what not. Have also seen a video of necros scaring zergs off the side of cliffs which is hilarious.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H64_4uWxjok
I lot of people are not happy with them in pve. They don’t support a group like other classes. Also their damage isn’t as high as some classes, like eles, to offset this fact. There was recent’y a thread asking for potential ways to fix the necro in pve if that gives you an idea of its situation. Most pugs won’t care if you run necro though. If you like the play style, don’t let that hold you back.
Don’t really know what to say about pvp. They are very good at handling conditions, something I forgot to mention many mesmers may have a hard time with. They obviously can’t burst like some other classes. They are more of a bunker class.
Schrödingers Clone: PvP Mesmer
PvP pros
Good dueling class
high burst damage
stealth
tons of ways to get out of sticky situations
Wide variety of builds and play styles to choose from
Good class to mess with and have fun with your opponent
Can be excellent at range
Can use blink to get up terrain that would take you a long time to get up otherwise.
Portal is an excellent way of getting you and your team across the map
takes a kitten ton of time to master
can be really good when you learn the class well
Cons
Light class/kinda squishy, takes more damage. However, this is offset by how many ways there are to avoid damage in the first place.
Can’t hold points as well as some other classes.
takes a kitten ton of time to master
Probably won’t be as good starting out as you would be with some other classes. Especially if this is your first time.
WvW
Don’t do much wvw so this is better left to some others. I would say its mediocre at best in zergs. Mesmers don’t have very good AoE damage compared to other classes. However, they are good at reflecting projectiles and pulling people off walls with their focus. As of right now, they also only have the focus for any speed. Therefore, it is kind of a necessity. Only mesmer and thieves are really good at wvw roaming. So which class you choose depends on how you want to play.
PvE
Pros
Probably the best class in the game at reflects: iwarden, temporal curtain, feedback
Can use portal to speed up runs, get your team across some “puzzles”, and can use portal to get your team through skips.
Can use blink in the same way as you use it in pvp
Can use stealth to get your group through content. Especially if you don’t have a thief
Has pulls and pushes.
Good at support, especially potentially when the chronomancer comes out
Can potentially feel rewarding if played right because of some things only mesmers can do.
Cons
Once again, don’t have good AoEs
Bad sustained damage compared to other classes
Takes a long time to set up your damage, summon phantasms and what not
If your looking for straight out pve damage than this is probably not the class for you
Takes a lot more effort to get the same results that you would see from other classes.
Bonus pro: can use portal for jumping puzzles

Work on your fractals and do your silver wastes. Throw some dungeons in there if you get bored. Don’t buy your fractals and don’t expect to get the ascended boxes you want. If you do, wahoo, you are lucky. However, don’t count on it. Similar to how I wouldn’t rely on the chance of getting a precursor drop for making a legendary (before HoT precursor crafting). Use the money you made from your fractals and silver wastes to buy the material to craft your ascended equimpment. Start at the bottom. Don’t buy bolts of damask, Deldrimor Steel ingots, or Elonian Leather Squares. Buy the the basic materials used to craft these. Plan your timing and try to make one of each of the materials you need, based on what your going for, per day. If you want to, you can also work on your bioluminescent collection achievement while you do silver wastes. Completing this will get you a nifty title, some bioluminescent skins, and any ascended armor box you want. This achievement was how I got my light berserker chest armor. This is what I did. However, I wanted to save as much money as possible and was not in a hurry to get any of my armor. I also knew I wanted the light in the darkness title and all the living story achievements. If you don’t want this achievement though, I would just craft the chest piece as well. Save it for last though just in case you change your mind or get an ascended box drop.

The thing with the economic shifts is a lot of people are just saving and sitting on their money right now until they see what legendaries are in store. If they show the legendaries now there will be a big shift. However, if they wait to show them further down the road there will be an even larger shift because more people would be sitting on more money waiting to use it after they find out if they want those legendaries. My suggestion would be to show the legendaries one at a time so there are more economic shifts that are smaller. Hopefully they are not already doing this now with the legendary back pieces.

lol do you really feel like Master Fencer is the reason you lost to a mesmer in pvp? I’m saying there are ways balance classes without crossing into pve. For example, they should not have nerfed harmonious mantras from 4% to 3%. They could have just messed around with confounding suggestions.
Schrödingers Clone: PvP Mesmer
Extra furry can help with reflects. Additionally damage is traditionally said to be split up 60%/40% or somewhere close to this statistic based on the circumstance between phantasms and individual damage. Master Fencer helps boost individual damage and helps with reflects. Especially if you are in a bad pug.
Schrödingers Clone: PvP Mesmer
If you don’t take the elle off point, you still loose. I can survive just by sitting at the starting point as well. Not going to die, not going to win. The point is not avoiding getting killed by the ele straight out. Its that they are very good at controlling points. Its easy to say don’t cross over this ring of fire. Of course you won’t die if you don’t. However, some classes won’t cap the point either or win the game by sitting around watching you surrounded by fire. Not attacking ele, I didn’t read the whole thread, just pointing out as well that this argument doesn’t make sense. Its possible that this comment was taken out of context as well. If thats the case, than disregard this paragraph. I also realize that some classes can fight elle at a distance. However, that is rather difficult or imposible for others.
I was mainly going on to talk about the idea of nerfing master Fencer. This trait helps out pve mesmer in dungeons a lot and right now, even with the trait, they are still one of the lowest sustained damage classes. Just telling people to think about multiple aspects of the game before asking for nerfs. Thats all, good day, please continue.

There was another topic about this. Nobody knows for sure. It is my belief that they don’t feel temperature like animals do. Plants don’t have nerves. However, they are affected to some degree, just not as much as others. For example, plants don’t get very much sunlight in winter, although sylvari eat meat. Water freezing in plant cells can kill the plant and water freezing between cells can lead to desiccation or dryness. Cold weather can also decrease enzyme activity (so they may be prone to fatigue). Cold weather causing changes to the fluidity of the cell membrane can also harm plants.
In the other topic it was also mentioned that sylvari npcs scream when they are on fire. Do they scream cause they feel heat or because they know they’re in trouble? Based on this, if it was me, I wouldn’t complain about the cold. However, I would say that I am tired and thirsty all the time. Perhaps your leaves can also change colors and fall off. I have not heard of this happening to sylvari in game. However, it wouldn’t surprise me if it could happen. Even if sylvari can eat meat, its my bet that they have some photosynthetic ability. After all, why are a lot of them green?

If the challenging group content is encountered in HoT then my guess is you need the expansion to play it, and rightfully so. This would be a huge selling point for the game for previous gw2 players.
They then go on explaining “in addition” to other announcements that will affect the whole gw2 game.
From this, I understand they will be making one announcement in heart of thorns about group challenging content and at least a couple of additional announcements that will effect the whole game.

Its also good for getting to distant locations faster. Its a huge mobility move. By using portal you can basically move yourself across the map instantly. Very useful for helping other teammates and capping points. Additionally, there are teammates who will use it, even in solo. For example, before solo matches at kylo I just tell my teammates that all the portals I set lead to clock tower. Also, lets not forget about the portal stomp. Useful? Not necessarily, too situational. However, if you are going to stomp, you might as well stomp with some style.

Sure, glad to help Reflecting returns projectiles to hit the source with the same properties. Therefore, power doesn’t help. Power only increases direct damage. This means if one enemy was shooting weak projectiles and one was shooting powerful projectiles that would do a lot of damage to you, if you reflected the more powerful projectile, it would do more damage to the enemy. However, the kicker to this is that reflect damage still benefits from damage multipliers that don’t specify DIRECT damage, like critical hits. Ferocity increases your damage on critical hits while precision increases the chance of getting a critical hit. Therefore, its best to increase your critical chance as much as possible. Critical chance is increased by precision.
Critical chance = (Precision-916)/21

He’s not saying to ban a prof/build. He’s saying that you can’t have more than one of a certain class on a team. You can still play whatever profession you want. I think the same should be done with pve. For example, you should not be able to play multiple warriors in a dungeon.
Schrödingers Clone: PvP Mesmer
Most pugs won’t care what you run. So, if you like one play style, I would say go for it. The thing about builds is mesmers have to change them so darn often to be “optimal”. I pretty much always have domination and dueling in pve because thats where a good chunk of your damage is coming from. Need some extra stealth for situations like CM and last part of AC p1? Use chaos as the last trait line. Need reflects or are going into condition heavy encounters? Go inspiration. Just want to go all out damage or want a little more cool down reduction? Go illusions. Same thing with weapons. Ill swap weapons and builds in the middle of dungeon runs. The actual exact build doesn’t matter as much as if you are or aren’t using specific traits. Just ask yourself why you are choosing that particular line of traits and what you want for the encounter or how you can help the group. PU is good for stealth, Warden’s feedback is good for reflects, Harmonious mantras is good if you are using mantras at the time, etc. There is not one “God” end all and be all build for mesmers.
No you don’t necessarily have to use scholar runes. Some do something like superior rune of the eagle for the extra precision for reflects. You can run this with zerker as well.
The difference between assassins and zerksers is not that big. Zerkers is technically better for bad pugs when no reflects are needed. Assassins is better any time you need reflects or are with a meta group. I would also be aware that if you use the chronomancer trait line when it comes out, mesmers are gona potentially get a lot more critical chance. I went for both. Assassins for dungeons with a lot of reflects and zerk for casual dungeons with few reflects. You can do what ever you want. If you would rather spend your money on other stuff first than go for it. This is mostly if you have some extra cash to spend. The actual differences are minimal. Playing the class correctly and knowing when to use what skills is a lot more important than the armor differences.

+1 for alacrity to allies. You get enough alacrity without it the way the traits are currently lined up. Allies don’t get enough
Oh and with chronophantasma they are only resummoned the first time they are shattered. Just to me anyway, it sounds like you think that it works like illusionary reversion.
I’m also all for seize the moment and illusionary reversion being switched now instead of seeing the traits being gutted to uselessness.

Schrödingers Clone: PvP Mesmer
Yes, I understand. I don’t think seize the moment needs to be changed if it gets moved down to compete with the other master traits mentioned and illusionary reversion moves up. However, I would still like to see changes if it remains where it is, not for pvp, but for pve.

I also enjoyed the difficulty of the enemies. I remember walking through the itzel hunting grounds and getting pretty much instant downed by 4 or so smokescales I believe. They launched from all sides and I didn’t even see them before they attacked. lol I just laughed. Guess I should have been paying closer attention to my surroundings. I had a blast. Enemies were difficult but you could take all individual enemies out by yourself. I believe the difficulty of enemies should be the same. I also loved the idea that difficulty increases at night. This promotes getting to a location in a certain amount of time and it promotes group play. We’ll get better as we understand the enemies and area better. Perhaps they should lower the numbers in certain areas for those who want it. However, they should also have high numbers in certain area for those who want it or those who :o guess should have been paying attention to their surroundings.
If your walking down a dark alley with no friends around not paying full attention, you should get downed. Oh raptor, I love you so, makes me feel like I’m in Jurassic Park.

1. On f5 I have discouraged against making this any shorter of a cool down. In pvp you will still have time to do another shatter or cast your elite twice in 5 seconds. However, decreasing the cool down from 6 to 5 seconds will hurt pve mesmers a lot.
2. Agree with your shield and well comments, good job.
3. Traits: also agree with you, good job. I think slow should still be put on breaker bar enemies in a weaker form. Else time warp essentially has not secondary ability for group support.
I have explained this in a different thread. However, once again I don’t think people will take illusionary reversion over chronophantama. My suggestion is still to make is so illusionary reversion resumons a clone the first time it shatters. This will help end shatter sequences. I have also explained before why chronophantama is better than illusionary reversion in burst shatter builds.
We still have to be careful with f5, if needed we might need to make it so certain skills can’t trigger in it, like signet of illusions. However, I would like this tested in played more in actual pvp instead of on golems until they make that decision.
I have also explained in a different post that I think siege the moment should remain where it is and it should grant 1 second of quickness per shatter to 5 allies. I used it with signet of inspiration and illusionary inspiration. It only gave about 2 sec on quickness to allies since you have to press the signet or cast another phantasm. Seems very lacking for a grand master trait paired with a specific trait or skill. I think this change will help it compete better with chronophantasma and lost time.
also thought f5 should be changed to 2 sec base plus 1 sec per shatter so you have 3,4,5, and 6 sec in continuum shift.
Schrödingers Clone: PvP Mesmer
(edited by Xstein.2187)
I understand the problem, but just listen to me a little bit.
I personally don’t think illusionary reversion will ever be better than chronophantasma in pvp. Making builds that max how many times you shatter didn’t work for me as much as maxing your first shatter. I think it will become a lost trait if moved up. However, it is still a problem. I would keep it where it is and change it so it is more like chronophantasma. Clones reappear the first time they are shattered. I also agree that switching improved alacrity and alls well that ends well may be a good move, specially if you make changes to the well trait. For seize the moment, I know I talked to you before about the trait. However, after actually testing it, it didn’t work as well as I thought. This trait was dropped down from 1 and a fourth seconds of quickness to 1 second of quickness in the beta (I don’t know why this was the case). When I used it with signet of inspiration or illusionary inspiration in the inspiration line, I only gave allies about 2 seconds of quickness for a full shatter (or thats what they told me, takes a sec or so to cast a phantasm or signet of inspiration. Signet of inspiration and the trait also both have a 30 second cool down. If it is changed to per shatter instead of per illusion shattered and the quickness was given to 5 allies then just with mind wrack and cry of frustration you would be able to give allies the same amount of quickness on a shorter cool down. You would also not have to worry about casting a phantasm right after a shatter or pressing signet of inspiration right after a shatter. This will give the trait a wider range of use in more builds. You won’t be forced to take a certain trait line or skill. I now its too late to test this now. However, if there is another beta I would recommend testing seize the moment with signet of inspiration and saying weather it should be changed. I still think these changes will make it compete better with chronophantasma and lost time.
Schrödingers Clone: PvP Mesmer

Not really it depends what your trying to do though/what build you are tryin to use. With mesmer in pve I was either trying to reflect as much as possible or provide as much damage as possible. With chronomancer I am mainly trying to focus on dishing out as much quickness and alacrity to allies as possible. Its a new ball game for me, a very fun game at that.
Schrödingers Clone: PvP Mesmer
In pve a chron can use time warp with continuum shift and still put up less quickness than feel my wrath. Not gona happen. Even if you use your elite in pvp, your pretty much giving up your f5 slot to use the elite instead of shatter for more damage. Oh and ya, I agree that the pledge needs fixed as well. Don’t think it would necessarily be that bad if you can’t use elites in them in pvp. However, you definitely should be able to do it in pve.
Schrödingers Clone: PvP Mesmer
(edited by Xstein.2187)
*Boring part
No one will play chrono if you can’t mind wrack in it. In fact, it was designed for it. I would also like to point out that using signet of illusions in continuum shift does not work as well a people think in pvp. Most use of it has been on golems. However, doesn’t mean they may have to make it so you can’t use signet of illusions in continuum shift. We just have to wait and see. I’ve never got killed by a mes that used this combo. Ive also never seen a vid of it used in pvp while they were successful in the whole match compared to other rotations. shattering continuum shift = dodge and run away. This will ruin the whole set up for the mes. Its too easy to see coming, unlike bursting from stealth. Continuum shift time is really short. One dodge by your opponent can ruin it.
*More interesting part
As for the shatters, I have not played gw1. However, I know all of the mesmer’s shatter abilities are named after skills the mesmer had in gw1. Mostly they’re for turning your opponent own stupidity against them and messing with their mind. Mind wrack in gw1 did damage and drained energy from the opponent. Cry of frustration interrupted a foe and gave them damage when they attacked, much like what confusion does with cry of frustration today. Diversion added recharge time to the opponents next skill. Similarly diversion today makes it so you can’t use skills for a short period of time. Distortion gave you a 75% chance of blocking attacks, distortion grants invulnerability for a very short period of time. The numbers are changed between these traits and the effects are slightly different. However, you can definitely tell how they came up with the traits and how some of them mess with peoples minds, mainly diversion and cry of frustration. I think they added mind wrack and distortion from gw1 more for utility and variety. It can’t be just about theme. Right now they have direct damage, condition damage, and interrupt, and protection. All cover different aspects. Similarly many of the chronomancer wells do damage, notably well of calamity. How does damage do with time? Well it doesn’t really. However, AoE damage is something mes has been suffering with since launch. They just don’t have it compared to other classes. Well of calamity probably won’t be used much. However, at least chronomancer will have the option of providing a little more AoE damage. You can’t have all skills based on utility. With only theme in mind, I also don’t think any of the mes current shatters need to be replaced with more chronomancer like shatters. Its nice to have a little distinction between the specialization and original class. In gw2 it seemed like the mes was more about messing with people and punishing them for their mistakes. In gw2 the mesmer adapted some skill that control space-time. They had time warp that gave quickness and invisibility that bent light around them. They also had skills like portal that essentially created a wormhole in space. Now we have the chronomancer that is even better at controlling time. In my opinion its kinda cool to see how the mesmer slowly adapted over time into the chronomancer. Thats just a little lore and history incase you didn’t know it. I find it interesting at least.
Schrödingers Clone: PvP Mesmer
I would like to bring this thread back to the main point. Mesmers may be able to have higher reflection uptime, but guardian do a LOT of other things better than the mesmer as well (not to mention they are going to add fractals with no reflects). Therefore, its still ridiculous that their elite skill is so much better, especially when time warp has been nerfed for mesmers in the past. How does Anet really expect us to react to this? Feel my wrath was already a better elite skill in pve and now they practically got rid of time warp’s secondary ability against bosses. If feel my wrath is severely nerfed to be on an equal footing with time warp for quickness than the potency of slow should be reduced on bosses with breaker bars. If feel my wrath is only slightly nerfed than slow should remain the same for bosses with breaker bars. Regardless, feel my wrath should be nerfed closer to time warp and slow should have at least some effect on bosses.
Schrödingers Clone: PvP Mesmer
Edit to the my first post on this thread. As I have said in the other thread, I appologize, I thought you were using signet of illusions outside of continuum split. I also know you were misunderstood here again when you meant two illusions when you said 2 clones/phantasms. I also know you misunderstood me when I replied to you in the other thread. Soooo, ya thats a lot of misunderstanding.
With that said, it doesn’t change my reasoning for why I think illusionary reversion and chronophantasma don’t need changed. The traits should remain the same. I also still think everything needs to be tested in actual pvp matches before nerfs are ever called against any specialization that is coming out. Now that thats said, I can’t see this thead going any further with anything good coming out of it.
Schrödingers Clone: PvP Mesmer
ok, I apologize. I thought you meant using signet of illusions outside of continuum split and your next f5 was another continuum split and not a continuum shift. I also know you were misunderstood in another thread by a different person when you said 2 colones/phantasms. I know you meant 2 illusions and not 2 clones and 2 phantasms. Its easy to misunderstand stuff in writing. However, I never meant I thought you f5 again in continuum split. On this one you misunderstood me. Its easy to do.
Therefore, neglect my point 2 as I thought you meant you thought you could use signet of illusions to take the cool down off continuum split. Also neglect point 7, as I do believe you tried this rotation. Another mesmer posted this rotation as well and explained how in worked on golems but we have mentioned that it is near impossible to use it viably in pvp while doing the damage you think you can do with it on a golem.
Now there are points 1 and 3-6. None of these are refuted so far imo.
I do not think illusionary reversion and chronophantasma effect mind wrack cool down. I said they DON’T effect the cool down. I also said this is the reason they don’t need to be nerfed. If you think shattering frequently in this rotation causes too much problems, once again need to see actual pvp play first, then you make it so you can’t use signet of illusions in continuum split. You don’t nerf illusionary reversion or chronophantasma as they are not what is causing the problem.
When I was talking about daze, I was only talking about Why Anet added daze and why it was a problem before daze was added.
Finally yes, I have heard elementalist complain about their new ability. Based on what I have heard so far, it probably needs a buff so it can at least be more useful. However, I have not played with it yet. And yes, the overloads are not an f ability. However, they are new ability that doesn’t require a skill slot. Based on what I have heard so far, I hope some changes are made so eles are happier. However, I cannot say too much as I have not played the tempest yet.

edit:
Sounds good to me. I suppose it could be useful if you don’t take signet of inspiration with enough shatter uptime. I haven’t tried it yet with a dps style build over chronophantasma. I’ll agree to leave the trait as it is. Added edit above.
p.s. wow I actually never even thought about using it with illusionary inspiration. This is cool. Your definitely right. Please leave the trait the same lol, my bad. Trait synergy for the win. Dueling/Inspiration/Chron oooo so excited, why didn’t I think of this.
edit: actually after testing I only came up with about 2 sec of quickness to allies with signet on inspiration. Kinda disappointed and still think the trait needs tweaked.

Yes, I agree. However, there is still something that feels unsettling to me about feeling obligated to take signet of inspiration for the trait to be that useful. Certainly this isn’t the case with chronophantasma and lost time. It would be nice to use this trait with time warp, well of action, well of recall, and mimic as well (or other traits if you need to). What about if it was still per illusion shattered but 1 second instead of 1 and a fourth seconds and applied to allies. Then would you want this trait over the current trait? Just curious, once again its more so this trait works with a larger variety of situations.

lol Silv I already know you lied in your post over here about chronomancer to try to get nerfs

Give it up, and test the actual class more before you ask for nerfs instead of making assumptions and lying. lol, signet of illusions can be used on continuum split, your hilarious.

lol lmfao. Are you serious? haha lol this is pathetic. Sorry if I sound rude, but its obvious that you lying your kitten off asking for nerfs when you didn’t even test the class.
1. in the rotation set up you obviously have dueling for deceptive evasion. If you don’t take domination, you give up damage on shatter. If you give up illusion, you give up cool down of the shatter. Ive tried Dom/ill/chron in pvp. You can do a lot of damage on a golem but you won’t do as good in pvp. Need to see actual pvp videos
2. In your rotation you show signet of illusions to activate continuum shift again. lol whaaat? It doesn’t work with f5. It is still on a 90 second cool down. This part right here is all I need to show you obviously didn’t try this rotation (on a golem or an actual pvp match).
3. I have tested Dom/Ill/chron in actual pvp matches and on golems. It works to take down the indestructible golem super quick. However, in real pvp Dom/duel/chron works out because the initial burst is stronger. You also don’t get as much benefit from alacrity if you swap weapons.
4. lol illusionary reversion and Chronophantasma do not effect mind wrack cool down. If mind wrack cool down is the problem, you work with that. These two traits do no effect that. Nerfing these would be like nerfing time warp when mantras and cs was the problem on lockdowns.
5. 8-10 sec ICD is laughable. If you can create another clone faster than the ICD than the trait becomes almost completely useless. Using it for shatter is not the problem on chronophantasma either. They added a 1 sec daze to it because they want to make it so you can dodge before it attacks. As long as you can dodge, the trait is fine. Ill leave it up to the devs if the daze needs to be increased. Not sure if people have time to dodge. If not, try 1.5 seconds or 2 second. Slow and easy steps.
6. Some of the reasons f4 is not replaced is
A. mes got an offhand weapon while guardian and necromancer both got two handed weapons.
B. mes first trait just allows them to use f5 and shield. The draonhunter and tempest get actual traits instead of a fill in.
These two together help justify their decision. Additionally, since I doubt you didn’t try it based on your reply, its a fair bet that continuum split is a lot harder to pull off. In actual pvp the use of it tells the opponent right away you are going to shatter since to time window is so short. One dodge can potentially ruin the whole set up.
7. Please make sure you actually test stuff before you ask for nerfs. This is especially sad when people find out you lied.

+1 Agree 100% with this. Less alacrity on yourself, more on allies is what mesmers want. They are not going to be in pve because of their damage. They are going to be there based on what buffs they can supply allies. Therefore, I think mesmers/chronomancers are willing to sacrifice for this.
