I thought people were doing fractals for the challenge. You know, being hardcore players and stuff. Not for the rewards.
A problem in this game is that if you heavily support, you don’t get rewarded. In events you may get bronze medal. Sometimes on champions you might not even be counted as one of the killers because you didn’t do enough damage.
In WvW, if you mostly support you won’t get many kills. The people you supported will get all the bags.
there are no trinity roles here. and game was advertised as such
“Damage Dealer” is a trinity role.
Not to mention good TP investments. I know a lot of people make money from that as well, but it requires some good knowledge and intuition and fairly heft start up capital.
And a lot of time. Time that I would rather spend playing.
Depends how much you track it. If you make spreadsheets and track trends, cross reference with gw2spidy, etc, sure it’ll take a long time, but if you stick to low risk markets, and really not pay much attention it doesn’t take nearly as much time. Perhaps 30-45 minutes every day or two. You don’t make as much as quickly, but you can still make decent profits. A lot less commitment than running dungeons and I can make over 20g on a weekend, which is low for TP, but good given the low time commitment and it frees me up to play the game.
That’s already a lot of time for somebody with a full time job.

Finally something good for WvW.
- Heavy armors are generally better designed
- Swords, Greatswords, Shields, Hammers… are generally better designed than magical weapons
- Greatswords look bad*ss and people like looking bad*ss
- People just like hitting things with swords
- People like being able to take hits
Zanshin, the quote you took is not about it being long, but about it being 3-4 in a row. All your references speak about the dredge fractal only.
No, they don’t.
Did you even go to the links? Only the second one is about the dredge.
It’s been like that for a whole year now and people actually like it (since it’s the first time I read this in about a year and people tend to repeat what they don’t like over time). So well, you seem quite isolated.

IMO, the problem is with PUGs (and also the dredge fractal). I’ve seen groups just give up in the middle of it because it was taking too long.
This + the skins made from already existing ones…
Are the devs on vacation or something?
I find it funny that people overlook the protection buff as well as the invulnerability abilities in the game which are much more OP -and causing imbalance- than regular healing.
The guardian class is more imbalanced than any healing class I’ve seen in any game before. It’s worse in pve due to stat spikes and lack of boon duration nerf.
How the hell can you call the guardian imbalanced?
In order to heal and cleanse, they have to give up their dps.
Also, what invulnerability abilities? They only have one and it’s an elite.
Why do so many people care about an achievement that gives nothing ?
It just shows how good the devs are at fixing things.
How in the world isn’t this already fixed?
Sure, it’s not game breaking but it seems so small and easy to fix.
Anet could just put a lot more objectives on the map and force zergs to separate into smaller groups.
They wouldn’t separate though. They would just clump together to take down these objectives faster one by one so everybody gets credit.
They wouldn’t be able to do that if there were too many objectives and far away from each other.
If there are enough objectives, while the enemy zerg is taking one of yours, you’re taking 5 of theirs. They try to take one back, you take 5 more. Ultimately, they would either need to divide or lose the whole map.
Right now, when the enemy realizes that one of their keep is getting attacked, they have all the time in the world to come defend. If you make the objectives so far apart that when they are all the way in the west they can’t get to the east fast enough to defend, they would have to divide and leave a team in the east for defense.
So make the maps way bigger and add a lot more tower/keeps. That’s it.
Of course, that’s not gonna happen because Anet’s servers are too flimsy.
There are no heroes. There is no honor. This is war.
Your job is to do whatever it takes to make your world win.
Someone who mocks you after beating you is not dishonorable, he’s just a jerk.
BTW, if you want to duel, go pvp. Don’t take a slot that somebody more productive might need.

I can see no one really agrees with me. I’ll leave this thread now. ^.^
Bye bye everyone!
I actually do agree with you.
I’ve often thought “I want to do some fractals but I know it’s gonna take 2 hours with PUG’s” so I avoided doing them.
The game should be called Zerg Wars 2.
Bump.
Got rewards for all 3 batteries.
One at 75% (west), one at 50% (north), one at 25% (east).
Then killed Tequatl.
No achievement.
The end of reason is insanity.
Anet could just put a lot more objectives on the map and force zergs to separate into smaller groups.
Max stats gear was supposed to be easy to obtain. As it was in GW1.
Somehow along the way they thought that hardcore players would stay longer in the game if they added a new harder to obtain tier. I’m pretty sure this idea is wrong as I’ve seen hardcore players get all their ascended gear then stop playing. What keeps people in the game is the fun. ArenaNet have lost sight of that.
The “solution” is not to remove ascended gear, though, but to make them way easier to obtain.
All classes.

Stealth is not the problem. Perma stealth is.
I did. But is it enough in a battle?
Considering the huge amount of damage other classes do, I’m wondering if it’s really worth healing in this game. Don’t you find yourself in situations where whatever you do, the ennemy will just out-damage your healing and think “I should have done a pure dps build”?
I’m asking because I like healing but to me it seems our level of healing isn’t high enough compared to the damage we’re losing.

I guess with this build your offense is almost null?
Easy solution to the “guild buying controversy”: you get the reward from the server you were on at the time the season started.
Can we get the rest of the Radiant armor, please?
Upleveled players.
I have 5 lvl 80. I play 4 of them. I could only equip 2 of them with ascended weapons because of the money and farming needed.
So much for “Guild Wars is a game where everybody can get max stats gear easily”.
I can’t even play most of the ones that already exist.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/guilds/missions/Guild-Missions-Always-the-same-ones/
Couldn’t the RNG be adjusted to not repeat the last puzzle/rush/challenge that was assigned?
This, please.
Devs hate guardians. Just saying.
So you want a title for reaching level 80?
What about people being lvl 70? Do they get the same title?
65? 60? 50?
Where’s the limit? What qualifies?
I thought people were doing it for the challenge. Didn’t you get your challenge? Aren’t you happy that they’re making lvl 30+ harder?
but i wouldn’t mind getting the same one if it is easy enough… hate getting those kittenes and fail.. wasting efforts in research….
We’re not doing them for the rewards. It’s the one thing where we can have some kind of fun as a guild. And getting the same one week after week is just not fun.
Basically it’s like the original game is volume 1 of a book and the expansions are volumes 2, 3, etc… You still have the same characters in the same “universe” but you have a full new story.
The Living Stories we have now would be more like bonus chapters or spin-offs.
IMO, they pretty much all suck. Especially Bifrost.
I’d like to know if others have the same problem.
Rush: 9 times out of 10 we get Spider Scurry.
Puzzle: 9 times out of 10 it’s Proxemics Lab.
We’re getting sick of always doing the same ones.
Guardians can do “ok” dps-wise.
They can’t match warriors (big burst and cc), elementalists (big damage), necros (conditions), mesmers (conditions and clones) or thieves (big burst and perma stealth).
The problem is, if you build for offense then you’re dead meat. Because guardians don’t have a lot of HP and if you build for damage you will most likely lose the ability to cleanse or heal through shouts.
In WvW I prefer to support my group through heals, cleanse and buffs because I know I’m never gonna be at the top when it comes to damage.
It’s too bad they’re so weak compared to the other guardian skills because they were what makes the guardian unique.
Speaking of Halloween skins, whatever happened to the new Halloween skins? Are they still being sold for 1 BL Ticket? (Can’t get into the game to check right now.) I never saw any announcement saying they were going away soon. The reminder that Dreamthistle weapons were going up in price reminded me.
Halloween’s are sold for 5.
They do not announce when they are changing the price. It forces you to hurry and buy at the beginning.
Find a guild with nice people. They will help.
This is not solo content. Find other people.
As much as I like to solo, sometimes a MMO just needs to be a MMO.
As long as living stories = zergs + content that you finish in a couple days + crappy rewards, they will fail. I don’t understand how Anet can think that it can work.
Because a zone that equals zergs + content that you finish in a couple days + crappy rewards is so much better. Most people call it Orr.
That didn’t make any sense…
I know you must have been trying to make a point because otherwise you wouldn’t have posted but I don’t get the similarity between Orr and living stories.
1) I’ve spent way more time in Orr than 2 days.
2) The zerg only came with the champion bags.
3) Even the devs said that failing the event on purpose isn’t what we were supposed to do and they’re goin to change how it works.
4) In Orr, you could exchange karma for exotic armor, which was a big deal in the beginning when people didn’t have that much money and means to get exo. That was pretty good reward for the time.

I don’t think they have the manpower to create a big expansion while releasing living stories every two weeks.
Anyway, new armors and weapons for gems only, and crappy rewards from the tower made this content a joke ! Let them drop, not be bought, omg!!!
Still better than RNG chests.
You could just convert gold into gems and buy the skin.
There’s a reason the warrior is getting nerfed on december 10th.
People are just abusing that hammer build in WvW.
Now, why is the warrior “easy”? Because it can have high damage, high survivability, high mobility and high cc, all at the same time. No other class can do that.
The idea of the open world tower was good. Better than what we’ve had until now. The result isn’t good, though, because it’s just the same “zerg is best” mentality as the previous living stories, except it’s in a tower…
Story wise, we’ve learned nothing.
Gameplay wise, it’s just zerg, kill a champion, zerg, do an event, zerg…
I was happier about the modification to the permanent gathering tools than about the LS itself. It shows that the devs might actually be listening to some of our complaints, sometimes.
