I just want to know what absurd mathematical algorithm makes it possible for a person to get 4 skins and another no one…
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gambler%27s_fallacy
The absurdity here is to think that because you played more you had more chances to get the skin. The reality is that somebody could get the skin playing only one game while another player could play 1000 games without ever getting it.
In worst experience I had, I had scored the game winning kill off someone with a headshot. They proceeded to kill me and only me in every subsequent game until I quit, following me directly out of spawn with either pistols or swords.
If I’m one of the last two survivors and you take the victory from me, you can be sure I will hunt you down. Not because I lost because of you but because you might be one of the strongest players and I need to make sure you’re dead before going after the others.
I’d say the Evon supporters are actually forgetting that the Abaddon fractal they want so much may be nothing but underwater combat.. but maybe that’s just me.
Or maybe Anet will do a crappy job either way and it doesn’t matter who we vote for because we’ll be disappointed anyway.
So, live and let live. Wait and see.
If you’re casual then stay casual. What do you need gold for?
Skins are vanity items. You don’t “need” them since the stats are the same.
If you’re casual, you can still have full exotic armor, weapons, sigils, runes…
Skins are rewards for grinders or people who give money to Anet.
Let me take a guess. GEM STORE 800gems.
Better than
RNG CHEST,120 gems, 0.00000001% drop rate
yes, but what about adding it to the game and no gems involved? You know, how it used to be in gw1? Why is it that every time an armor is added its automatically has to do something with gems? wtf
Buy 800 gems with gold. There, acquired only through pve. No need to thank me.
A bit off topic but I have a question on the scavenged goods. I’ve managed to pickpocket trap someone who dropped a zillion items. But when I picked up a plank it replaced my arrow on the hotbar. So how do you -use- alternate items at need? I found myself not picking up more stuff when I had an arrow equipped because I didn’t want to lose my arrow skills.
You either use the item or you drop it. That’s it.
You can’t put it in your pocket for later.
I’m not an idiot. I had already done T1/2. Both for Evon and Kiel.
Then I did T3 and T4 for Evon (got the achievement).
The problem happened when doing T3 for Kiel after that.
Just now, I did T1/2 for Kiel again, then T3. I finally got the achievement.
So basically, the game wants you do to 1>2>3>4 for the same candidate, without switching in the middle.
I didn’t do T4 first. I did T3 right away for Kiel and got nothing.
I’ll try starting from T1.
Already did advanced support for Evon.
Now I can’t get the achievement for Kiel.
Is that intended? (maybe if you support one, you can’t support the other?)
Gnashblade however will be in LA. Counting his money and planning to betray everyone.
Isn’t that what all politicians do?
Did it after today’s patch. Didn’t even have to kill one veteran.
Kill the one spawning on the left. Rush the one on the right. You will aggro some mobs so run back all the way behind the big rock to lose the aggro, go back to the spot on the left. Rince and repeat.
A shame it’s actually easier to solo.
This should have been advertised as a solo activity. There is literally no point to group.
Nonsense, got it on the first day without even trying.. you need to be more aggressive, if you just hide somewhere and sit still, of course you won’t get any points. I’m getting 50-100 points per game, and since it’s epic fun, the achievement came on the first day. You can even get over 100 points and top scorer, without being alive at the end. I’ve posted some tips in another thread along with a few vids how to do it.
So you basically played 33 games average. Every game lasts for what, 10-15 minutes?
So you spent something like 5-7 hours just playing survivor.
Well, congratulations for not having a job.
- Everybody starting at the same place is just stupid.
- The headshot shouldn’t even be in the game, imo.
- Being a ghost is fun but collecting the balls before being able to do anything is stupid. Especially since other ghosts can still them from you.
The 3rd issue is that once you have all the other achievements, all you care about is killing crystal bearers and therefore you don’t play the game to win anymore.
All in all, a poorly done mini-game, as always.
Evon is gonna use that money towards the abbadon research.
How is Kiel gonna get the money? More taxes?
So let’s say you got 1 scrap every 5 chests, that means to get 10 scraps you’ll need to open 50 chests.
50 black lion keys go for 4500 gems (if you buy in bundle), 4500 gems goes for about 55 dollars… so if you’re lucky… you can get that weapon if you pay 55 dollars for it…
While in reality it seems that the drop rate is much lower than 1 every 5 boxes, since Vox opened 125 chests and got 13 tickets. So let’s say he got 10 tickets at about 100 chests… that’s over 100 dollars wasted (I obviously assume he had stored up the keys) to get one weapon…
This cannot be working as intended.
It is working as intended. You buy more keys. Anet gets more money.
That back piece is ridiculous…
Is making armor too hard?
That’s what they claimed.
Weapons, you just make them once and you scale the size based on the character’s size.
Armors, you need to make a variation for medium sized characters (humans, sylvari), one for charrs, one for asura and one for norns (which isn’t exactly the same as humans).
As opposed to the difficulty involved in creating an entire zone, complete with new movement skill mechanics. The design of the Labrynthine Cliffs is gorgeous….can someone now design some armors?
Weapon/armor designers aren’t necessarily “world” designers.
In fact I’m gonna bet they’re two separate departments in most game companies.
Isn’t it kind of obvious, at least to the GW fans, that something changed at ArenaNet between the publication of the Manifesto in 2010 and release of GW2 in 2012?
It’s not the same company at all. I think they’re trying to weasel word as much as possible so nobody can technically ‘prove’ that the Manifesto and the game don’t match. But weasel words or no, Guild Wars 2 is NOT in the spirit of that manifesto.
Something has changed at ArenaNet, and not for the better if you’re a gamer and a fan.
Or maybe it was too ambitious for them.
Or maybe they consciously lied.
The result is the same, though. GW2 is not the game we were told it would be.
Per the latest update notes:
New weapon skins purchased with a Black Lion Claim Ticket are now tradable until used.
Now lucky people may get rich (imagine the price of the Jade Weapons…), but people will have a lot less reasons to buy the RNG boxes from the in-game store.
Except if they don’t have enough gold to buy the skins off the AH.

Who cares about Aetherblade weapon skins?
There is no risk to Spvp. If you lose, you don’t lose anything. You actually still gain glory and rank, which is incredibly easy!
You lose time.
As you say, you have to learn how to play your class and how to counter others. It requires a lot of time.
You start getting into pvp → you get face-rolled right away and you don’t understand why → you’re disgusted and decide not to do it anymore.
That’s pretty much it for a lot of people I know.
The ability to make a permanent change in the game’s story and content is beyond cool. I’m very excited to see how it turns out.
The ability to make a permanent change by actually playing the game would have been better IMO. Where’s the fun in casting votes? Why aren’t we choosing our destiny by actually making choices in big scale events?
They’re from the 5000 AP chest.
I do think lvl 20 is just too easy to reach for someone who has leveled several lvl 80 characters.
I have like a thousand dragon bash fireworks. Some people probably have several thousands of them. Do we just destroy them or what?
Honestly? I hoped new armors to start from 5k ap, or even higher. The skin doesn’t feel unique if 3/4 of the server will have it.
Wait for the 9000 pts chest. Suddenly you will see a lot less people with the helmet.
UP
Please, fix this.
PS: Anet, u must stop rejuvenation boosters too.. these add health too :P
But they can also be bought from the gemstore.
It’s a money sink.
Open a ticket with support.
If enough people do it maybe they’ll react.
The wind type sells for a lot more than the 2 others at the AH. This is proof that the effect is better. Maybe the designers should do something about it?
Beat him on the first try.
(with some help from regen buffs)
Obviously for Anet 100+500=500.
LAG LAG LAG LAG LAG LAG LAG LAG LAG LAG LAG LAG LAG
I somehow can’t shake the feeling that the devs are trolling us now.
They were trolling us even before the game was released. Remember the “manifesto”?
Lazy designers.
Yep, they should hire the guy from Aion.
The current designers don’t have enough imagination.
What I believe is that you will unlock different pieces at xxxx AP. So to make an entire armor set you would have to have a LOT of AP and nobody right now would even have enough. That’s why they have the time to gradually release the rest of the sets.
By now everyone who’ve been playing the game since launch should be in 4k+ points
Not true.
In our guild we have people ranging from 1200 to 8000+.
There are people who are just not interested in achievement points at all.
What really bugs me is these are not account bound but soul bound. I have 9 characters, I’m not gonna buy 9 of each…
It just seems the devs don’t think that far ahead. It’s really frightening.
The puzzle is not hard. People are just lazy.
Are you sure it’s bugged? I’ve been able to complete this 10 times now and have not once had an issue, I’ve done this on TC, SoR, and SoS.
Because it worked for you doesn’t mean it works for others.
I’ve tried it on 3 different servers and every single time it was bugged.
Try pressing the movement keys while falling.
(edited by Zanshin.5379)
Try all the patterns as listed on the wiki.
The bug is that the pattern shown on the face is actually not the one you are supposed to make.
It should be a piece of cake to fix but I guess they’re too busy coming up with new RNG chests or something.
