Of course not, lol. Beta testers were paid before. Nowadays people pay, or grind, for the chance to be a beta tester.

Get a staff of beta testers and pay them, I’m not doing it for free for you.

They do internal beta tests. The idea behind all this is to encourage people to play in the new zones with a slight chance to get a key. Nobody is forcing anyone to “grind” for one. If people force themselves to play just for the sake of getting access then that’s their fault, not the developers.

But is it entirely their fault? After all, the developers (and most game developers for the last decade) are the ones who have turned public betas into PR stunts, making players think they’re just happy fun-times with exclusive early-access content, rather than actual tests. People can only make decisions based on what they perceive, and the gaming industry has twisted the general perception of public beta testing into something far different than what it actually is.

Agreed, you can’t put the blame entirely on the players.
People get addicted to drugs but it’s their fault, right?
People lose their money in casinos but it’s their fault, right?

It’s usually pretty fast too.
When I did that I submitted a ticket and 6h later everything was sorted out.

Really? Would you for instance pay 20$ for a weapon skin? 40$? 50$?

If anybody want to prove there is a conspiracy, you would have to get enough samples. I’m talking about tens of thousands of people having the exact same experience and logging every little loot every single time as proof.

The truth is, you can’t prove it. How many people have come forward about this? 10? 20? 50? You know that’s not a big enough sample. For those 50 people, there could be 200 who haven’t seen any difference between their accounts and haven’t said a word on the forum or reddit because there’s nothing to say.

Is it possible? Yes.
Can you prove it? No.

People, you have to realize that for accounts to have better/worse loots there would need to be a value somewhere in the database to “flag” accounts differently. Why would they put that in their game? It makes no sense.

Yeah, we’ve heard a few people saying their 2nd account has better loot than their first one but how many people have 2 accounts and have as crappy loot on both accounts?

Welcome to the generic expansion model. Content updates become scarce as the developers gear up for the expansion pack.

We’re getting what we claimed we wanted.

Yeah cause the LS with its 30 minutes of content every 2 weeks (sometimes more) was definitely better.

People tried the LS system. They didn’t feel there was enough content and that’s why they asked for an expansion.

My guild died from lack of activity a long time ago. The LS where you play 30-60 min every 2 weeks wasn’t enough content for us. Right now the devs are probably all focused on HoT so there’s even less content. I’m not surprised to see more guilds die.

So the drop rate was too low indeed.

IMO, it’s pretty bad PR to make people frustrated.

As long as there is clipping with the current armors, you won’t see capes. And I doubt they will ever modify all the armors in the game just so they can add capes.

I’m against the downed state in WvW. In PvE or PvP, it’s not important.
In WvW, it gives an advantage to the bigger zerg because they have more people, therefore they rez downed people faster. Doesn’t matter if you’re better, as long as they have the numbers they just chain rez their people and ultimately overwhelm you.

You can’t just copy paste a outfit, which is one single seamless item onto an armor set which is 6 pieces of armor. It doesn’t work that way. It’s 2 whole new complete sets of armor designed from the very start and it’s a lot of work, as you can see from the speed that they put new armor sets into the game.

Somehow, I really doubt that outfits are made of just one big single mesh model. Why would a 3D artist make just one big blob when it would be much easier to do the chest, then add the shoulders, then the helmet, etc…? It doesn’t make any sense.

What I believe is that by sticking to outfits they require less quality checking and therefore they can release them faster.

Are we even sure this is gonna be made available to the players?

Sorry, in my opinion a new race brings very little to the table.
Professions and specializations (and to a lesser degree masteries) are where it’s at for me.

It brings customization. In a game that primarily makes money selling cosmetic items, I would think more customization would be welcomed by the players.

Legendaries don’t even look that legendary anyway. There are dungeon/boss/black lion skins that look way better that the legendary ones.

Either just continue making awesome skins that everybody can get (through quests or other means) or make the new legendaries really stand out.

One thing that is not speculation is that the only ascended heavy armor I have is Zerker and there is no way in hell I’m going to make a new set.

Just hire the guy from Aion.

People who are still playing or interested by the game after so much time are going to buy the expansion, period.

This is something we’ve been wanting for a long time. We better be willing to pay for it. On the other hand, Anet better be bringing it!
