Making them forgeable would totally crash the mini market. Maybe demote Magnus to white or blue quality.
True. Blue or Green rarity would be good. There’s just so many of them lol o_O same with the mini reef rider.
There also seems to be a bug where there are HARDLY ANY RUN SKILLS FOR MESMER. We shouldn’t have to constantly switch to focus and use the #4 skill. What’s worse is that it doesn’t stack swiftness. So if I have the signet on which grants me a random boon every 10 seconds, and it just so happens to give me a few seconds of swiftness right before I cast #4 focus, that skill was just completely wasted and I have to wait for its cooldown to end. Not cool.
Seriously, it seems all the other professions get a signet skill which has a passive 25% increase in movement (assassin/necro/ele/guardian has a few good swiftness skills, and not sure about other professions as I don’t play them much). Why not give passive 25% increase in movement signet skills to ALL professions? Let’s be FAIR.
Is it truly intentional to make mesmers walk as slow as turtles? If so, that’s just plain stupid and illogical. It’s like they WANT mesmers to suffer.
The other day in EOTM this thief was going stealth all the time. It was so frustrating for myself and my teammates that I used my mesmer’s moa elite on him and he got downed pretty quickly ha ha :-P That’s what he gets for being annoying
In terms of the whole ‘running’ thing in EOTM:
I REALLY like the fact that our keeps automatically have waypoints. Don’t change that. It cuts down on tedious running across the whole map. I think it would be handy to have more rope bridges to places though. For example, when playing on the blue team of EOTM, I find it frustrating that, if I want to go from the ‘Workshop’ to I think it’s the ‘Arid Fortress Reactor’? (The supply generator directly below the middle bridge of the 3 bridges that fork from the keep) I have to go ALL the way around, across the main bridge, and jump off, just to get there. There needs to be more shortcuts.
In terms of professions and their running… I find it extremely frustrating on my Mesmer how her only running skill is the focus #4 skill, and I shouldn’t have to constantly use it just to keep up with the zerg – in fact I often find myself falling behind.
My only other option here is to buy 6 superior runes of speed for a constant 25% increase in movement – why should I have to do this? They cost at least 2g each, so that’s me forking out 12 gold just to keep up with the zerg. It’s unfair, and I don’t want to have to fork out 12g to find out later on that the superior rune of speed was changed/nerfed.
I think ALL professions should have at least 1 signet skill that gives a passive 25% increase in movement. One of the reasons people don’t like playing Mesmer is the lack of movement – I’ve heard it many times from friends and people in general.
From page 9:
something that I’ve seen in more than one proposal and something that we just can’t do in our game, is the idea of consolidating maps or making larger maps. It is a problem on multiple fronts, but the most obvious issue is that we simply can’t fit more players onto a map than we already have, so even if we were to make a larger map, we couldn’t have a corresponding increase in the number of players on that map. Proposals that rely on that idea are simply untenable.
I can certainly understand that. Heck, I play WvW and EOTM a lot and the maps are huge enough as it is already – my only problem is that when I enter EOTM, sometimes (well…ok, A LOT of the time), I enter an overflow, and there is absolutely NO ONE on the map. What’s worse, is there is no option of ever going to a more populated EOTM instance/overflow. Players in under populated EOTM overflows are then taken advantage of with enemies literally taking EVERYTHING they have because they know that you are low on numbers and can’t do jack about it. It just isn’t fair at all.
What I propose in these situations is that there be an option to join a more populated EOTM instance/overflow if someone leaves them – similar to how queues work for WvW. That way, players stuck in under populated EOTM servers that are getting trampled on, at least get the opportunity (eventually) to move to a more higher populated instance/overflow where, chances are, it’s a more even playing field.
This wouldn’t require more players in the map either, OR larger maps, but it WOULD alleviate the unfairness of unbalanced EOTM overflows.
Many of us still ask for a race change kit, but for some weird reason Anet won’t do it despite the demand for it (I’ve given up :-/). Heck, players have suggested if it’s ‘too hard’ for them to implement, players would be fine with their personal stories being reset in order to make it work. Sure there’d be items bound to your previous race and all that, but that’s why you’d sort that out before using the kit.
I don’t see why it can’t happen. There are so many players that have deleted precious characters they’ve worked really soft on (the opposite word was blocked >_<), and in turn, re-rolled entirely new characters just to make their character a different race. A race change item is needed. Sooner rather than later.
I propose that ANet introduces Polymock as an activity, with miniatures being used as Polymock pieces.
The higher the tier, the more potent a Polymock miniature is. That should make those Mini Magnuses more valuable.
That’s a good idea.
Or even make exotic mini’s forgeable? There needs to be some sort of way to get rid of excess miniatures I reckon.
Everything that Zaoda.1653 said, you basically read my mind and I love you.
One more thing to add though, I wish we could have a tab in hero panel dedicated to previous Living Story rewards. It would work the same way as Zenith weapons and Radiant/Hellfire armor.I have 8 characters, and for example Tower of nightmares only gave me 1 Gasmask. Maybe I’d like to have it on 3 of my characters, maybe I equipped it but transmutation splitter still makes it soulbound (at least make it acct bound).
My point is, it would be nice to have an interface where you could withdraw all meta achievement awards from all previous LS for all your lovely alts, pvp, pve, 3 different armor sets on 1 character even, in case you salvage it… (I did that with Scarlet’s new mask).I don’t see any harm in it if a player already finished achievement and deserved their reward.
Thanks :-P and woops, yeah that was probably another major suggestion I forgot to add. I just edited my post to include that.
Infinite-use skins should AT LEAST be applied to all meta achievement skins that were obtained through the living stories. It would be nice if gem store skins were included in the same treatment, but I highly doubt Anet would do it :-( and it’s odd because by doing this for everyone, I believe it would actually create MORE demand, because people would think ‘hey, I can apply this to ANY of my characters… I want it!’.
I was talking about this gem store item with a friend today, and we agreed that the price was really overpriced.
They currently cost more than 2 total makeover kits, or the same price as a full armor skin. We both thought it should be more like 200-250 gems.
It would also be great if Anet gave everyone a limited time to grab a free name change contract. It was done with a few boosters and even a mini set, and I just feel everyone should get at least a once in a lifetime opportunity to change one of their character’s names.
AOE Auto loot feature that is actually ‘auto’ - where any drops you receive are put immediately into your inventory if there is room (as an ‘auto’ function should do in the first place). This would include loot you receive when you’re downed or dead.
Dyeable Weapons - self explanatory really
WvW Rank Resetter (gem store item for 150 gems) - refunds your World Ability Points for re-distribution
Account bound dyes - self explanatory really
Return of Zephyr Sanctum – Bazaar of the Four Winds This was my favourite living story of all, as well as many other players. I’d love to see a return of Zephyr Sanctum
More ways to obtain Ascended Armor and Weapon chests - I suggest making these available through means other than crafting, by offering them for different currencies like WvW Badges/Karma/Dungeon Tokens/Laurels/Fractal Relics/Pristine Fractal Relics etc.
Legendary dyes - these would have special effects and animations that could be applied to weapons and armor. They’d be highly sought after.
New Legendaries - self explanatory
Rainbow themed weapons and armor - I love me some rainbow themed stuff
More GW1 weapon (and possibly armor?) themed skins
Legendary Armor - these would have the same stats as ascended gear, but as added bonuses, they could have the stat-switching ability, no repair costs, and have special effects/animations on each piece that could be changed (for example, for an elementalist, you could have lightning effects/water effects/fire effects/earth effects). These bonuses would justify the time and money it takes to obtain them.
New professions - I’d love to see the return of the Ritualist (I’d be so excited, I can’t even…), and perhaps the Chronomancer (the ‘watchknight’ sort of look)
Skin locker To store all your skins.
More Weapons for all classes I’d love to see greatswords on elementalists. We can have them for the Fiery Greatsword elite, why not as an actual wieldable weapon too?
Return of the Signet of Capture This was amazing in GW1, and it made going out to capture elites A LOT of fun. I mentioned this in a recent CDI, and it was taken on board, but I just wanted to mention it again.
Ability to buy single-purchase items in the gemstore What if I only want the light aetherblade helmet skin, but don’t want to pay 800 gems for the whole outfit when I only need one of the pieces? Instead of me spending 133.33 (or 134, rounded up) gems for that helmet skin, the gemstore gets nothing, because I refuse to pay 800 gems for 1 item. A potential purchase was just lost right there. We NEED an individual purchase option.
Remove the error message when selling too many things on the trading post - This is just plain annoying.
Make WvW gear salvageable Dungeon armor can be, why not WvW gear? Not only do you have to spend a fair amount of badges, but also your hard earned money. It’s illogical to make them unsalvageable.
Different Colored flesh skins I think GW1 had this in the gem store, though I can’t remember 100%. It would be cool to have this option for all races and not just sylvari. I want my human elementalist to look like Dr. Manhattan from the Watchmen series.
Lord Faren’s Underwear skin I want this so badly. Please make it happen!
The paper-bag helmet skins When are we going to get these? :-( they’re so epic
New Weapons for classes Would be awesome to see hand cannons for engineers, perhaps polearms for warriors, scythes for mesmers, crossbows for rangers, swordbows for elementalists, flails for guardians, etc.
That’s all I can think of for now.
Edit:
More infinite-use skins like the zenith/radiant/hellfire achievement skins, that can be applied to ANY weight class It’s frustrating to know that, for example, once you use the scarlet’s veil skin on light/medium/heavy armor, there’s no going back. The decision is final. You can no longer change it to a different weighted class. This sucks! And it needs to change. Not only this, but you can’t create multiple skins for PvP (if that’s your thing), or for your other characters.
The LEAST this SHOULD be applied to, is living story meta achievement skins. Skins like Scarlet’s Veil, Fused Gauntlets, Holographic Shattered Dragon Wings, Wings of the Sunless, etc. (I’m sure there’s many more, I just can’t think of them all!) and many gem store skins.
(edited by Zaoda.1653)
I was wondering if it was intentional to have so many mini captain magnus drops from the alliance supply bags? They seem to be quite easily acquired. I noticed at least 500+ on the trading post and it’s kinda weird to say the least.
Could this be the next ‘mini reef rider’ situation where an exotic mini goes for easily under 1g? As far as I know they’re not mystic forge-able either.
I’m incredibly let down by these new weapon designs. I would have really wanted the tormented staff, but it doesn’t look nearly as good. I don’t know what the new batch of dev’s have against dark black and sharp angles and more dynamic animation effects, but it just cost them the $100 i was going to invest in the gem store again this month like i had been doing the last couple months. They might want to consider some less colour blind people in the art dept if they can so easily confuse jet black with blue-gray. I really don’t understand why it seems that the GW1 skins consistently look better than the vast majority of GW2 skins.
Yeah I don’t understand the logic behind the blue-gray colors either. The darker look of the skins in GW1 were better – perhaps the best looking one was the hammer. But the tormented hammer in GW2 just looks plain weird – you can hardly see abaddon’s face in it, and it just has this plastic-wrap feel to it. I think if the blue-gray colors were instead made dark/black, to show the glowy purple bits off more, and there were more detail given to some of the weapon skins (spear, shield, hammer etc.) people would buy them. Shield needs to be bigger too.
Nothing against bringing some nostalgic items into gw2, infact, thanks Anet!
But…
PLEASE, resize the Tormented Shield.. it’s way to small compared to the Guild Wars 1 Model. It needs atleast x1,5 size increase to match it..
Next to that, kitten happened to the sword? Why can’t we still just use a spear ABOVE the water (since that skin is pretty kitten perfect), and what the flying monkey happened to the focus o.O?
Again, thanks for bringing more gw1 into gw2, but please.. do something about your designs!
-Wrong place to add this reply, I’m aware of that.
-Good place to mention it and make people vote it up elsewhere.Greetings
Completely agree. The Tormented Shield definitely needs some surgery!
I want to get the tormented shield but I’m just really put off by how puny it is :-/ I like the GW1 version of it better – it’s bigger and has much nicer detail.
I did purchase a tormented greatsword skin today for my Mesmer though – no complaints about that skin :-P looks epic.
I’m not exactly keen on making them tradeable, but I would agree that there SHOULD be other ways to obtain ascended weapon and armor chests – perhaps via other currencies like I don’t know… 2-3k WvW badges per chest? (Just a figure I came up with from the top of my head) Or X amount of Karma, or X dungeon tokens, or X laurels. That way they remain untradeable, but you still work for it – it’s just with this approach, you know you’re guaranteed to get it after you’ve done the work to achieve it!
I really empathise and can understand your frustration. It shouldn’t be like this at all. I hear all the time of people wanting some of the wurm armor skins, but just can’t be bothered 1) finding a large enough group to get kills, and 2) having a poor chance at obtaining it even if they do succeed.
I think either way something needs to be done about it. I myself am not going for ascended armor because it’s a rip off just achieving 500 crafting, let alone all the laurels and gold required for the recipes to make X ascended piece, as well as paying up for X ascended materials (like damask >_< I mean, c’mon, 15g per sheet? I’ll pass thanks!). I’m just going to continue WvW’ing, and whatever ascended stuff I get, so be it. I’m not bothering with working towards ascended armor :-/
So how do we all rate the end of LS season 1

Another thing I forgot to mention… I thought the cutscene with I think it was Kasmeer? (I don’t really follow the lore so I wouldn’t know) and Jory was really well done.
The emotions were so realistic, and I thought it was extremely brave of Anet to show the kissing scene between the two females – simply because many gaming companies don’t dare to talk about or even show that other sexualities exist, so I really applaud Anet for that.
It’s a very rare sight to see LGBT people who I can identify with in real life (in fact in my whole entire life, I’ve only ever seen 2 gay couples while I was out and about – excluding television and movies of course), let alone as characters in MMORPG’s, so it was really nice of Anet to do that :-) It reminds me that I’m not alone in this world.

So how do we all rate the end of LS season 1
in Battle for Lion’s Arch - Aftermath

I thought the previous living story was awesome. I’d give the destruction of LA an 8/10 because of the realistic cries of horror and physical destruction of the place, but I wouldn’t give it the full 10/10 because we never actually got the option to try and save LA – it was just ‘Scarlet is destroying LA, and by the way, she will succeed – deal with it’ sort of thing. We never even got the option to save it in the first place!
I feel Anet missed a great opportunity here to give everyone the option to save LA, and if we failed after the 2 weeks, then LA would be completely destroyed. What would be epic though is if we failed to save LA, all the races would put their differences aside and come together (human, charr, sylvari, asura, norn) to rebuild LA, and with each and every update we could see small bits of progress towards the complete rebuild of LA – heck, it could take a complete year to rebuild… that would not only be awesome, but very realistic! (and each race would add their own particular design/flare towards the building of the new LA, so you could tell that the lion that looks like it’s made out of a plant for example, was crafted by the sylvari). And likewise, if we won, hey! No need for a rebuild! Or perhaps the citizens could have decided to reinforce or even fortify LA and make it even stronger and more elegant than before.
In terms of this living story, I feel Anet really dropped the ball. Not only were the knights bugged to oblivion and the meta virtually unachievable for the first 2-3 days, but it just didn’t make me want to do it.
The potential of getting ascended cores was really nice, and the colored ascended backpieces I have no complaints towards – they look frikkin amazing. What I didn’t like with this update however was the lack of communication (what to do with the abundance of blade shards for example, and the update towards the exotic spinal backpieces where, if you had previously equipped it when it was account bound, after it was updated, you couldn’t take it off and move it to another character – you’re literally stuck with that decision and cannot change it without making a new one or upgrading it to an ascended version).
Combine this with the fact that many of us have obtained the ‘No More Tricks, Scarlet’ and ‘In Tune’ achievements simply by walking into the red, green and blue portals once during the final battle, casting a few hits on the scarlet hologram, and then hiding in the corner until the end whilst everyone else kills Scarlet and all the phases – is just wrong.
I feel like I didn’t deserve those 2 achievements, and I’m sure there are many others that feel the same way about this, but the fact that they are SO hard to achieve, literally forces players to resort to this just to get them. I feel these 2 achievements were poorly implemented, but that’s just my opinion.
On a completely different note…
Of ALL the living stories, I think the most memorable of them all would have to be Zephyr Sanctum – Bazaar of the Four Winds. THAT living story and its achievements I would give a 10/10. It was fun, it was memorable, it made me want to do it, and there were multiple ways of obtaining loot. For example, cashing in stacks of crafting mats that were in an abundance on the trading post, for a chance at some decent loot. Likewise, there were kite fortunes with awesome boost bonuses, and after a certain amount of scraps were obtained, you could cash them in for some epic Sun/Lightning/Wind catcher skins, Zephyrite helms, Rucksacks, and Rose skins. I miss that.
I wish all living stories had those aspects of the Bazaar of the Four Winds. I am glad though that Anet decided to keep some facets of Zephyr Sanctum at least. Today in Edge of the Mists for example, I realised Anet kept the ‘Spirit of the Light’ animation from the Bazaar – when players transform into them at the ‘Altar’ in the overgrowth region of EOTM.
Anyway that’s just my two cents. Take from it what you will :-)
(edited by Zaoda.1653)
I think the lesson to be learnt here is that if there is an abundance of a particular item from a living story, we should keep it at least until the living story is over (though having said that, I’m sure there are items that were given extra uses much later after the living story had ended).
Anet could have let us know sooner, definitely. In fact, I made a thread a day or two ago about the ‘abundance of blade shards’ and didn’t receive an official response from Anet on whether or not I should keep them. For all they knew I could have deleted all 6,250 of them – and to those saying it’s people’s fault for deleting them, no actually, it’s not, especially when you get thousands of them taking up precious bank space (and in my case, alt space) and only hear an official response days later on a thread you most likely just happen to stumble across.
Fortunately I stumbled across this thread which finally had an official response, which most likely saved my 6,250 blade shards (thanks OP!). So yes, there was most definitely a lack of communication in this situation, but at least now we have a response.
In the future it would be nice to get confirmation on things like this in time, otherwise there may be an even greater outcry and justified rage from the community.
I finally got my Mesmer to level 80 so she could wear her outfit.
She’s still a work in progress and I’d like to make her look more warrior-like (the helmet makes her look absolutely beast I reckon, and it goes with the greatsword really well, but the helmet doesn’t really suit some of the loose/light clothing).
I’m going for a tormented-theme :-P
Still experimenting with dyes, and I’m not completely happy, but it’ll do for now until I find things that really suit the whole outfit. Perhaps Scarlet’s Gloves will make it look better! When they come out that is…
Armor:
Scarlet’s Veil Skin (helmet)
Tier 3 human cultural shoulders
Feathered top
Winged gloves
Tier 3 human cultural legs
Zodiac boots
Weapon: Tormented Greatsword
Dyes: Night Shade, Wine Ice, Pride, Heliotrope

Sorry I didn’t think about asking on the blackgate website as I don’t have an account there and I hear you need teamspeak – and I don’t want to use that cause of all the big brother stuff happening all over the world with spying (NSA, Skype, TeamSpeak, Yahoo etc.)
I really am clueless when it comes to all this guild stuff too. I came from Piken Square originally just because the time zones didn’t work out for me in the end (when I was on, people were off and vice versa), and I needed a server with a lot more people for both WvW and PvE living stories.
I’ll go check out the website. There seems to be quite a few different answers here so not sure what’s the truth, but I’ll just assume some guilds left and/or it’s the living story at the moment that’s making it empty.
Perhaps they simply could not handle our heat anymore.
-Jade Quarry
Please don’t bring the whole ‘my server is better than your server’ topic into here, I’m so over all the bickering of it. The topic is why Blackgate is empty, not who is better.
(edited by Zaoda.1653)
No matter what borderlands I go to, it seems it’s as dry as a desert. What happened? Did some guilds transfer or something?
It can’t be the living story because let’s be honest, the loot is kinda lame and half the time things are bugged. Certainly not as good as the previous living story’s loot.
So where the heck is everyone?
WHY does there need to be a gemstore?
What was wrong with how things worked with GW1? (though it later had a cash shop, way way later). Isn’t the thousands upon thousands of people giving 60 dollars for the main game and 40 bucks per expansion enough?
Not really. If you expect the staff to get a one off payment to make the game and then get nothing for the rest of what future updates they create, then that’s unreasonable. They have to make money to pay for staff to do constant updates. It’s just the fact there could be better ways of doing things.
For example, Anet needs to listen to players feedback on the tormented weapons in GW2. Some of them are so fugly that their GW1 versions look a million times better. Cough spear cough hammer cough shield. If they all looked good then people would want them. If Anet made epic god-like armor with special effects or something, people would want them. I think players want Anet to do well with their business, they just need to listen as to how to make it better for both their players and their pocket, then we’d all win.
I’m still not getting any loot from the knights in the LA (enemy controlled) instance.
I did at least 10k damage too. Surely that would qualify me for some loot?
Edit: Somehow the deluxe gear boxes appeared in my inventory without seeing the icons to the right when I supposedly collected loot. Odd. I’ll kill other knights and see if this happens again.
Edit2: Nevermind, I keep dying trying to get to champs in LA. Man mesmers suck. Their survivability is horrible. Forget about this thread, I won’t be returning to kill knights at this rate anyway.

I want the Avatar of Lyssa’s 3-headed helmet for my Mesmer so badly.

Thanks for the update on this.
I think I’ll pass on the ‘No More Tricks, Scarlet’ and ‘In Tune’ achievements though. They’re just too hard for me. Especially with the amount of health the hologram has and all the phases.
Back in GW1 I bought my tormented weapons with the armbrace of truth. I also went on hundreds of COF runs to not only fill my books but also get enough money to afford full fissure of woe armor for my ritualist. It took me a long time to get that money, so whatever method (whether earning it via the original method or simply buying it) you used to get the tormented gear, it still required money or effort.
In GW2 I certainly don’t expect special treatment, and pretty much everything is pay-to-win or grind-to-profit, so it doesn’t really matter to me.
It is annoying that we can’t earn these skins via other methods though. Sure I could do black lion key farming, but it’s so tedious and the RNG is frustrating. Would be cool if we could earn them via other forms of currency.
I also agree that some of the tormented weapons could definitely do with a makeover. The shield from GW1 had WAYYYY more detail and was really large and fitting. The one in GW2 is puny and has a sort of plastic-wrap look to the edges. Certainly not as nice as the one from GW1. The hammer, spear, staff and shield in general need to be redone to look on par with the rest.
The best looking skin I reckon is the greatsword.
There’s nothing more frustrating than to enter Edge of the Mists only to discover only a few allies nearby (or worse, none at all), and everything on your side is being tossed to and fro like a hot potato amongst enemy servers as they cap everything you have – and you can’t do anything about it. You feel absolutely helpless.
I’m talking about the EOTM overflows.
I didn’t really notice it until I was a victim of the EOTM overflows myself, and I can tell you it isn’t fun.
The suggestion here is simple. Give players the opportunity to move to a more populated EOTM instance whenever it is possible (if someone leaves a more populated EOTM instance for example). After all, all the other WvW instances have it, why not EOTM?
EoTM was created to server primarily as a Queue for WvW. So you’re asking for a queue to enter a queue?
I’m asking for a queue to get into the main/more populated EOTM instances rather than always getting dumped into a completely empty EOTM overflow.
It may come as a surprise to others, but I actually like EOTM and sometimes I get bored of Eternal Battlegrounds and the other 3 WvW borderlands.

Sweet! Thanks for all your help people. I think it’s safe to say then that I can delete them without worrying there’ll be extras for them after the patch is gone :-D yay for more room.
I wasn’t being sarcastic. I was saying that 6250 blade shards, you have probably more than you’d ever need. You have almost half of what an light armor needs to get a full set of ascended armor, and that was specifically introduced to act as a material sink. Since blade shards can’t be sold, there’s no need to ever introduce a material sink for them.
Ah, sorry I completely misinterpreted what you were saying. I just get a lot of troll comments on these forums (had to close threads sometimes) so immediately took your comment as sarcasm.
Hmmmmm if they’re a permanent drop like you say, then most likely there won’t be any Tomes of Knowledge or other extras exchangeable for them. Perhaps I should just delete them?
Perhaps having 25 stacks of blade shards, you’ll probably have way more than you’ll ever need.
Thanks for the sarcasm but that reply isn’t exactly helpful… I’m asking a serious question. I don’t want to delete them all only to find out in a few days or weeks that Anet has added an NPC which offers Tomes of Knowledge for, say, 250 blade shards and 30 silver for example.
Edit: Sorry for misinterpreting your comment. I get a lot of trolls on threads I make so took yours as sarcastic :-/
(edited by Zaoda.1653)
Can we please get some sort of confirmation on whether or not blade shards are going to have any other use apart from creating backpieces?
I ask this because my Mesmer is quickly becoming my final alt to store things on – despite not wanting her to be, she’s had no choice up until the abundance of blade shards these last 2 patches (and trust me, I’ve tried deleting as many items as I can to make room in my bank AND alts, but the remaining items on my alts and in my bank are essentials and I still want to play my Mesmer without being burdened by all these shards), and I simply have too many of them.
I don’t know whether to delete all these stacks or keep them :-/
(edited by Zaoda.1653)
Yeah I think it would be great to have a whole bunch of NPC hairstyles added to the makeover kits. Don’t know why this wasn’t done right from day 1 tbh.
I dunno if it’s just me, or this particular item, or what….but my shoulders are HUGE after the patch.
It’s wonky lookin.
That actually looks really cool. I like it :O
I was really starting to enjoy the exotic versions being account bound :-( but then I logged on today to find the ones on my characters soulbound, and that we weren’t given any opportunity to atleast remove them and put onto other characters :-( really annoying tbh.
Instead of some fugly plant dragon, I’d LOVE to see the return of Abaddon, along with some epic loot
GW1 is an entirely different game. Game GW1 players do not ‘deserve’ rewards in GW2. It’s nice that they provided a link, but that’s because Anet chooses to.
If Anet released a Torment weapons in their gem shop in GW1, hey, I can understand.
But GW2 is an entirely different game and you shouldn’t be holding it as a leash to GW1.
I completely agree. This is coming from a GW1 vet too. And yes I myself had 2 tormented weapons from GW1 which I worked really hard for (same with my full fissure of woe ritualist armor – and quite frankly, if they put that in the gemstore in GW2 I wouldn’t care either), do I expect special treatment? Heck no, GW2 is a different game, and I’m glad we now have the opportunity to have them in GW2 via whatever means necessary.
Sure there could have been better ways to implement/re-introduce the tormented weapon skins, like perhaps as a reward from a ‘return of Abaddon’ living story or something epic like that, but nevertheless they’re here now and it’s great. I don’t know why people are moaning about it, I seriously don’t.

I’m saddened at how many players are whining over the tormented weapons in the sense that it’s another gemstore (black lion keys)/black lion ticket thing. To that I say – who cares, we’re frikkin lucky to get something from GW1 – it’s rare. Be grateful.
My only criticism for them would be that they are a bit grey/dull. In Gw1 they were quite dark – almost abyss dyed, which REALLY made the purple glow stand out and make it look epic. These are more light grey and reflective, which doesn’t accentuate the purple glowy bits. I think if they were darker, they would be a lot more appealing to players.
That’s all I have to really say on the matter. I’m just happy we’ve got tormented weapons in GW2 now
Jesus, so they add a new set of weapons from Guild Wars 1 to incite some nostalgia or happy memories or whatever and all you people can think of is some way to complain. You “GW1 Veterans” that complain all the time about every single thing that Anet does are probably the worst part of this community. Good riddance to those who quit over such a inconsequential issue, no one wanted you here anyways.
I’m a GW1 vet and I agree. It’s sad to see so many cry over how it can be bought – well, you could buy it with ecto in GW1, there’s no difference. If anything, we should be frikkin happy they decided to give us some nostalgia with these skins. The more people cry, the more they’re not going to want to give us things from GW1.
If there was any constructive criticism for the skins however, it would be that they look a bit grey/dull. I think they would look AMAZING if they were darker, so the purple glow is more noticeable. Also I don’t know if it’s just on the charr, but the tormented shield is REALLY small. I will have to preview it on one of my human characters but as far as the charr goes, it’s really tiny on them.
Not sure if this is the right forum but…
Tormented weapons were one of the best skins in GW1 I reckon, and I can’t believe they’ve actually made a comeback! I am SOOOOOOO going to be spending a ton on these skins.
Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you!!
Edit: How come the tormented shield is so tiny? I previewed it on my charr and it’s so small. And the tormented weapons aren’t as dark as the ones in GW1. Seems they need a bit of polishing, but other than that I’m happy.

Awesome tysm guys!
Edit: @below, woops I meant Virtue of Resolve. Will edit main post now.

I want to make one of my guardians all about toughness, regeneration and healing.
I was wondering if anyone knows the answer to this question though… does the Virtue of Resolve’s passive healing, stack with the 6th bonus of the superior rune of the dolyak? The 6th bonus on the rune is ‘gain health regeneration’, but I’m not sure if it would stack with Virtue of Resolve’s passive. Or even if I should buy some of the dolyak runes because of the upcoming changes.
I ask this because I usually run ‘battle presence’ with ‘absolute resolution’ in WvW to help heal my allies in zergs. I find it comes in handy as everyone around me gets some passive healing which helps keep them alive. I haven’t tried full healing power gear yet, but hope to heal my allies for at least 200 per second, when they’re around my guardian (as well as be able to keep my guardian alive).
Any help to this question would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
Edit: Question answered, thanks!

I don’t play ranger much so I can’t really contribute in terms of what needs fixing indefinitely, but what I didn’t like was the fact that as a ranger you were given a pet. What if I didn’t want one? What if I hated them with a passion because they constantly pulled aggro that I didn’t particularly want? (same can be said for the necromancer minions and how there’s a trait that gives you minions upon killing something – whether you want them or not, you’re given them >_<)
That was my main beef with the ranger. I’m sure the traps and other skills could have had changes as well but like I said, I don’t play it enough to fully contribute towards this class.
The ele’s damage is fine, what’s wrong is their piddly health pool and survivability in general. Why should warriors get not only the heaviest, tankiest armor along with a signet that regenerates health, huge toughness and survivability, AND one of the biggest health pools in game? 27,000+ from what I hear. Yet ele’s get a horrible health pool and horrible survivability?
Damage for a staff ele is fine. I run a build that deals a huge amount of damage. It’s the health and survivability that truly needs fixing. I tried going into water and earth many times, but even with traits that give max vitality and toughness, it still isn’t on par with other classes in the slightest bit.
