Unbalanced gem prices by billing country

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Zaoda.1653

Zaoda.1653

Us New Zealander’s have to pay an extra $39.31 for every $100 worth of gems ($100 USD = $139.31 NZD, currently), that other countries don’t have to pay, simply because of the exchange rate. But I’m used to that :-/

Then, just when you actually WANT to buy gems, you get this lovely error message shown below – EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

I’ve given up buying gems. Clearly Anet doesn’t want my money. And yes I’m aware I can submit a support ticket, but I’m not doing this every time I want to buy gems sorry – life is too short to deal with that BS. I don’t care if it’s Digital River Ireland’s problem, I don’t care if it’s a Guild Wars 2 problem… If you want my money, fix it permanently. But I’ve said this before, and it still hasn’t been fixed, so I don’t think I’ll ever be able to just buy gems when I want to. Their loss, not mine.

WvW rank affecting earning pips

in WvW

Posted by: Zaoda.1653

Zaoda.1653

WvW rank affecting earning pips makes perfect sense to me.

There are quite a few WvW players who have well over 1,000 rank points. Some 3k, 5k, even 10k. What do they have to show for it? Nothing.

All you need right now, is 1k to max out all your wvw ability points. Some might say that’s a lot, but 1k points, to a hardcore WvW’er, isn’t. There are many players with thousands of extra points that have no use.

So I disagree with there being no point in earning more pips through a higher WvW rank, sorry.

Mystic Chromatic Ooze Infusion

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Zaoda.1653

Technically anyone could also make the point that there’s no reason in going for juggernaut because you only have to get this item for 5 minutes of shiny armor and therefore this item should not exist in the first place…

My point is, if you already have this item, why not make it a permanent effect? Or, if you don’t want to demean juggernaut in any way, make it a collection that requires both unlocking the Mystic Chromatic Ooze item AND Juggernaut.

Would this solve the problem?

Surely Ventari’s tablet could work underwater though – I mean if necro’s can have wells underwater… surely pulling a ventari tablet towards you, wouldn’t be impossible?

Mystic Chromatic Ooze Infusion

What if Anet made the Mystic Chromatic Ooze item into an infusion?

I was reading this:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/6f58iy/mystic_chromatic_ooze_5_minute_timer/

And when I saw another player recommend it becoming an infusion, I thought – that’s a brilliant idea!

It’s frustrating having to double click on this item every 5 minutes in order to renew your character’s appearance, and I for one would LOVE to have this effect permanently, so an infusion really would make the most sense here. PLEASE Anet

Would this be something you guys want implemented?

Hammer's basic attack needs flavour

in Revenant

Posted by: Zaoda.1653

Zaoda.1653

I think the auto attack is fine. It deals a ton of damage and has a great range.

I would, however, LOVE to see hammer #2 have the effect(affect?) that the grawl from the statuary in Edge of the Mists has, where the target area pulsates and pulls people in for a couple seconds. It would be some really cool crowd control thing, and enemies would have to use stability.

Would also love to see a trait that makes Axe #5’s temporal rift become a targeted area so you can place it wherever. It would be really fun to be able to pull people off towers in Edge of the Mists, much like how Mesmer’s can.

All in all, basically I’d love to see the Rev have more abilities that pull people in. This would make more use of torment too!

No Underwater Glint, Ventari & Dwarf stance?

in Revenant

Posted by: Zaoda.1653

Zaoda.1653

Why is there no Glint, Ventari and Dwarf stance for underwater combat? I know underwater content isn’t a priority or anything, but I feel that, since there are 5 legends the revenant has access to, and only 2 available underwater (Shiro and Mallyx), wouldn’t this mean it’s incomplete? All other professions, if I recall correctly, to my knowledge, have access to their kits/elements/shatters etc.

In comparison, this would be like only providing the mesmer with 2 of their shatters, or 2 of the elementalist’s elements, or only 1 or 2 of the engineer kits.

I’m hoping this will be fixed with any future expansion as I know it’s not a priority and all, and I suppose we can live without the other 3 legends for now, but it would be nice to see them added at some point :-/

I agree that they are getting increasingly more difficult and frustrating, but as long as there are mesmers to help portal people like myself, who, for the life of me, simply try, and try, and try again, but still fail, as long as mesmers can use portals in these really frustrating jumping puzzles, I have no problems with them. I’m sure there are some people who absolutely love the difficulty of them. I’m not one of them XD but I think Anet should keep it how it is at the moment.

Screenshot Error Buying Gems

I couldn’t find any gemstore category when looking for help – the only related category was gem cards, which I don’t use, so I just went with that category :-/

We shouldn’t have to do this though… shouldn’t Anet have fixed this already? All I wanted was to buy some gems, but now it’s like mission impossible, and this isn’t the first time. Why do we constantly have to submit support tickets just to buy gems!? Can’t they do something about this once and for all?

You can try buying lesser amounts multiple times.

You can contact the Billing CS Team via the ‘Support’ link above/below and ‘Submit a Ticket’ for assistance.

Good luck.

I’ve tried buying smaller amounts too, but it doesn’t work. I gave up buying gems last night. There’s nothing more I can do. I’ve had this problem many times when buying gems, and I don’t know why Anet won’t fix it. I don’t know if it’s an Oceaniac problem or what, but I’m tired of getting these error messages when everything in the form is filled out correctly.

Also, why is the company that’s receiving the money from gemstore purchases- in Ireland? It says Digital River IRELAND. I don’t think Anet’s HQ is in Ireland, especially when the gemstore asks for US dollars. I looked on google and found this too. Quite worrying to me, personally:

http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/digital-river/internet/digital-river-digital-river-ireland-fraud-credit-card-fraud-unauthorized-charges-they-1283534

Can Anet please explain this? Apparently Digital River has had quite a few credit card fraud problems, and with constantly getting error messages, this does not fill me with confidence.

I just attempted to submit a ticket and my god there were a million things I had to fill out. Stuff that. I shouldn’t have to do this!! Please just fix the problem with this constant error message stuff – I’m not going to exert any more time and effort trying to just buy gems that should be a simple process.

Until then, my $100 will sit, waiting for the fix.

So we are cowboys now?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Zaoda.1653

Sure, the new outfit and puppy isn’t my cup of tea, but it probably is for some other people – and the way I look at it is, if we’re getting another expansion sometime soon, they’re going to need as much money as possible to fund it, as well as afford staff to continue running GW2.

So the way I look at the gem store now, is completely different to how I used to look at it before. They need money to keep this game going, and if what they bring into the store isn’t your cup of tea, don’t worry about it, there’ll be other times where what they bring into the store, is something you MUST have. Seasons and cycles.

EoTM is better than WvW...

in WvW

Posted by: Zaoda.1653

Zaoda.1653

I prefer EOTM than normal WvW maps usually because there’s more things to do, more things to capture, and fun things like scorps and taking tunnels for shortcuts.

I think if Anet want to make each map truly unique, it would be neat to have each boss, or even just the boss of each keep, give unique rewards, like how dungeons in GW1 gave unique rewards – like the Voltaic Spear for example.

This would make going for keeps all that more rewarding.

The same could be applied to WvW maps – specifically, Champion Lord Lykesh, from the Eternal Necropolis, in the desert Borderlands, could drop the Dhuum’s Soul Reaper Skin, as well as separate armor skins that have a Lich theme (see pics attached).

New expansion coming and still no polearms?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

I’m hoping Anet will bring back:

- The Ritualist, Paragon, and Dervish
- Dhuum’s scythe skin
- Scythe as a new weapon (would work well for necromancer’s specifically, as a specialisation weapon)
- GW1 armor and weapon skins
- Abaddon themed stuff – outfits/armor/weapons
- Varesh Ossa armor skins – her outfit was amazing, but it would be awesome to mix and match some of the armor, so hopefully it wouldn’t come out as an outfit, and as separate armor skins, they would cost more in gems. Win-win for Anet.

Can you create nude armor skin?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

I’ve been wanting an invisible/bare chest on my characters for a long time.

I just don’t want an invisible chest skin to be added as one of those 1 in a 1,000,000 chance drop rates from the treasure mushroom. I mean, seriously, who has time for that!? And the chances are pathetic.

I wish my engineer, specifically, had a bare chest. I HATE trench coats with a passion. I would rather have nothing, but then I obviously lose my armor stats and benefits from wearing something.

Anet please make an invisible armor set for all classes – but not make it so unbearably difficult to obtain – like the invisible boots from the treasure mushrooms. Perhaps reward tracks that give you a currency for buying account bound invisible armor skins that can’t be sold on the trading post, would be awesome.

New Infinite Tools, why not separately?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Zaoda.1653

Zaoda.1653

I think it’s really wrong and unfair that some infinite tools have amazing effects, while others have absolutely nothing, and I also think it’s wrong and unfair that some tools are slightly faster than others, while the rest are as slow as a snail’s race. They should all be the same speed, and faster at gathering, than normal gathering tools.

For newbies coming into GW2, they shouldn’t have to be given the advice to go for unbound gathering tools, or the watchwork mining pick, or the consortium harvesting sickle specifically, because despite the infinite gathering tools all costing the same gemstore price (1000 gems each, usually), these ones are superior, when compared to the rest.

For example:

Watchwork mining pick – gives you extra watchwork sprockets every now and then. Meaning MORE money for you. Other pickaxes don’t give this. Why the hell would anyone want any other mining pick then? Probably for aesthetics, but come on, who would want to pass up making MORE money?

Consortium harvesting sickle – is the fastest (in my opinion) sickle gathering tool for herbs etc. compared to other tools. Who would want to pass this one up when it’s faster than other infinite gathering tools?

Unbound gathering tools – gives you unbound magic currency which helps in affording ascended gear from the various areas that have been added recently.

Now I’m not saying eliminate these effects. I personally think these extras/benefits are AWESOME. All I’m saying is, allow people to transmute their infinite gathering tool skins to others they’ve unlocked, take away all the ‘extra’ effects from the tools, and replace them with ‘infusions’ that attach to your tools for the extra benefits. So you could have the watchwork sprocket infusion, or the unbound magic infusion, that you could attach to your infinite gathering tools, for example. This way people get the skins they want, and they can put the infusions on any of their infinite gathering tools. It’s a win-win for everyone. Also, make it so that all infinite gathering tools have the same fastest gathering speed.

Any infinite gathering tools you already have, their skins would be unlocked for free of course. And any new gathering tool skins that Anet come up with, obviously would have to be bought.

I think Anet would benefit from this because apart from making everyone happy, this way, all infinite gathering tools have:

The same gathering speed as other infinite tools
The ability to swap out the ‘extras’ infusions on your tools
The skins people want

And above all, it makes it fair.

Anet could then sell gathering tool ‘skins’, gathering tool ‘special effect’ bundles (fireworks/flying dragons/fractal bosses/who knows what else, when you gather with your sickle/axe/mining pick), and infusions that give ‘extras’. Even more things Anet can sell!

Just an idea, but I think it would work brilliantly, personally.

Legendary Armor: Feedback [merged]

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Zaoda.1653

Zaoda.1653

I really like the design of the light legendary armor in particular, my only wish was that Legendary Armor was available for all game modes – this includes WvW and PvP.

I understand Anet wants to make it exclusive to Raids, and I understand that making something exclusive makes it more meaningful, however for those of us who despise Raiding, legendary armor will simply never become a reality for us, and I personally, have given up the dream of having this set

What I propose is making alternative ways of obtaining legendary armor – with the same skins and all, but making it take A LOT longer through WvW-only, and PvP-only, specific play/game styles. Now I don’t PvP, so I can’t really give any suggestions as to what could be some achievements/requirements towards legendary armor for that (others could suggest things for PvP as it’s not my cup of tea), so I’ll just give a few WvW examples instead:

Kill 100,000 players (in total) – I’ve been WvW’ing since day one and I still only have 63,712 kills, so I think this would be a fair requirement.

Hold all 3 keeps on a single map for X minutes (Anet could decide how long) – this would exclude your own home borderland, because hills, bay, and garrison are usually held with ease anyway.

Achieve the Diamond Legend rank title (could require a lesser rank, I don’t know, up to Anet)

Have the player require purchasing expensive components for the armor with a mix of Badges or Honor / Gold / Proof of Heroics

Have the player require components and / or a new legendary currency through reward tracks

Have the player require new legendary gifts through wvw vendors.

Just a few examples, anyway.

My wish is that legendary armor becomes available to everyone through alternative game play modes/styles, but in doing so, make it take a hell of a lot longer, than if you were to obtain it through Raiding – so as to not lessen the effort and time required for the armor.

Not to be flippant, but if what I’m seeing is a screenshot from a 4:3 ratio setup, I suggest investing in a widescreen monitor. That’ll give you a lot more horizontal real estate to see your string of buffs.

Thanks yes I tried a wider monitor a few months ago, but I just couldn’t get used to it (I found square better because a wider monitor made me look from left to right a significant amount more, hurting my eyes in the long run). I suppose I could try a wider monitor again and try to get used to it, but I shouldn’t have to change my monitor for something Anet should have changed right from the beginning of gw2. I just moved my map to the top right corner, and it seems to be a lot better in terms of seeing the time left on my buffs, but the extra buffs still go off the screen (I’ll attach a pic).

All Anet has to do is make a second line for buffs, and that should be enough space to see them all.

I purposefully no longer take any banner buffs (like the heroes banner for example), because the buffs/icons/food/utility you have, keep getting pushed further and further to the right hand side of the screen – to the point where you can’t even see which buffs you have! I even reduce the size of my map, but I still cannot see my yellow “XP” buff, because there are too many buffs.

Will there ever be a change to this? Is it THAT hard to program it so that all buffs can be shown on your screen? I don’t understand.

For now at least, I am no longer taking any banners because I need to see all my buffs. It shouldn’t be like this, but until something changes, I can’t afford to take any banner buffs. Please look into this Anet, it’s becoming a very big problem.

See the pic below as an example. So many buffs get pushed off the screen that I have to ask other players how much time I have remaining on my XP buffs. You shouldn’t have to do that.

The fact Colin Johanson is no longer with GW as well, was one of the first clues. I mean, who wouldn’t want to work for Guild Wars? Unless perhaps it was going under and you knew the boat was about to sink and we all know it is better to jump early than to face the inevitable (just sayin’).

What makes Necromancer fun for you?

I just tried the Reaper properly the last few weeks and I’m getting quite addicted to playing as a necro now. I love the greatsword skills and how powerful they are – especially in PvE. As it should be, in my opinion. The skills in Reaper Shroud are awesome too, and I love the effects when you go into Reaper Shroud.

I only wish Anet would bring back the Dhuum’s Soul Reaper Scythe skin. I would love to use that as a greatsword. It would probably have to use different animations, but I want it SOOOOO bad. You could wield it perhaps like how Daredevils wield their staves. It’s sort of on an angle – same way scythes are held.

I also wish Anet would make some really awesome necromancer light armor skins. I looked at the wardrobe these last few days and just none of them are truly decent. I want to see armor similar to what Dhuum from GW1 wears. Spiky, leathery looking light armor with chains and loops, and glowy bits that you can dye. That would be my ideal necro armor. I wish Anet would do these things

[Suggestions] Gemstore Items

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Lord Faren Speedo Outfit – basically just your own character in a pair of Lord Faren’s Speedo’s.

Death Shroud Aura Infusion (see 1st pic). Black shadowy mist flows from your character – exactly like the necromancer’s death shroud. This infusion wouldn’t have any stats, it would just be purely cosmetic.

Dhuum’s Soul Reaper (see 2nd pic) as a greatsword skin. Yeah yeah, I know, it might look weird, but you know it would be amazing as a greatsword – especially for necromancers. Anet might have to make changes to the way the animations work though (for example, the Daredevil holds staves like you would a scythe, so surely this dhuum’s soul reaper scythe skin could work for greatswords?).

Dhuum’s armor set (see 3rd pic – and ignore his scythe, as it should be sold separately) – this would unlock a set of light armor skins so you could mix and match your armor. This could really be a great addition to the Dhuum’s soul reaper skin. I would imagine plenty of gemstore sales with this armor and his scythe skin. It would be cool to have the glowy green heart dyeable too, so you could have it, say, blue, for a guardian, or green for a necro, or pink/purple for mesmer, etc.

WvW and Legendary Armor

The day ANet puts any attention into WvW… That’ll be the day

As much as I hate the fact that Anet haven’t given WvW any chance to get their own unique legendary backpacks or legendary armor, I must give them credit for adding in reward tracks. We waited soooooooooooooooooo long, but I’m glad they finally put them in.

And as much as I hate the fact it’s been soooo long since we had a WvW season, I’m still hoping Anet gives WvW some more love.

I’d like to see legendary armor and backpacks for WvW, since GW2 shouldn’t always revolve around PvP and Raids, but only time will tell. I’m sure it’ll happen eventually, it’s just WvW isn’t as loved I guess.

I’m going for ascended aqua-breathers for all my characters, but I’m not sure what stats to pick for them.

What would you recommend for light, medium, and heavy aqua breather stats?

I don’t think I have ever really spent much time in the PvE maps as I’m usually playing WvW, but lately I’ve just been really enjoying the new map. Farming the berries and killing monsters there is my new addiction, and I love that Anet have provided ascended underwater breathers as rewards for unbound magic and fresh winterberries.

This map has given me something to really work towards. If the ascended items for rewards weren’t epic enough, there’s the combat kodan tonic. Players have been wanting to play as a kodan for ages and now they can. I hope we get to see more combat tonics in the future, they are EPIC! This would have to be the best update & PvE map for me so far in GW2.

I think it would be even more awesome though if there was some sort of Mastery Abilities for the map – like for example, one mastery could be to make you immune from being frozen in ice by those ice storms (which cause you to lose your kodan lit torch – really annoying!), as well as those veteran icebrood elementals.

Another could be to take less damage from monsters in the map. I dunno, just a thought anyway. Keep up the awesome maps and rewards Anet.

[Suggestions] Gemstore Items

I’d like to see:

• The “Dhuum’s soul reaper” scythe as a staff skin. See 1st picture attached.

• Destroyer gauntlets. My elementalist NEEDS this!!!! See 2nd picture attached.

• More accessory colours for your head options in character makeovers. I see plenty of hair colours, but the accessory colours are pretty bland if you ask me, and there is hardly any variety at all to choose from. I don’t think there’s ever been any additions to accessory colours, and we certainly need more. See 3rd picture attached.

Combat Tonics, what ones do you want?

Destroyers
Wraith Lord thing
Varesh Ossa
Time-mage-dude-things
Margonites
More Margonites

Would love any of those. Especially the necromancer/wraith lord thing. Even an outfit like that would be epic. Even more epic if the outfit made you hover above ground like the wraith.

Severe DC Issues in Bitterfrost Frontier

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

I’ve DC’d three times. That doesn’t bother me as much as the setbacks… every time I DC, I lose the past 10-15 min. of progress, including stuff I’ve gained, hearts attained, story progress, etc. It’s very frustrating.

Same. It’s really annoying! Lost winterberries etc.

I ended up just going offline for a few hours. I hope it’s fixed as soon as possible.

"Beasts Slain Quick" and "Stay Unfrosty"

Agreed. The least we need is the ability to get the achievements in a group situation – not just the instance owner (I was in a group, twice, and BOTH times only the instance owners got the -under 5 minutes- achievement, despite us ALL being a part of it and ALL completing it in under 5 minutes).

Also it would be nice to get a -repeat boss fight mote- so we don’t have to go through the ENTIRE story again listening to Braham whine and go on and on like a child throwing a tantrum.

When are we going to see the return of the Harbinger of Mordremoth Outfit? I think it’s really awesome and I think it’s been over a year since it was last available – a long wait if you ask me!

I also tried previewing it on my characters but the chat codes don’t seem to work properly for it :-/

Not enough traversability on Bitterfrost

Definitely needs more waypoints around the place. I was like, WTF, only TWO waypoints? You’ve GOT to be kidding me. I thought there would be maybe 4 or 5. To cover some of the corners of the map, but nope. >_<
