New Skills for Revenant (your Suggestions)

in Revenant

Posted by: Zaoda.1653

Zaoda.1653

I don’t necessarily have any suggestions for skills (though I’d love to see some sort of rift skill for underwater), but I have an idea for a trait if that counts?

Similar to how guardians can make their symbols last longer, have a larger radius, and heal you… I would suggest something similar for rifts. So this is my suggestion:

Grandmaster trait: Rift Lord

Rifts have a larger radius, last longer, and are now ground targeted.

Still lack of swiftness skill. The only class

in Revenant

Posted by: Zaoda.1653

Zaoda.1653

I want a trait that gives 25% movement or at least a utility skill that has 25% movement speed (like eles, thieves, and probably a few more classes have). I don’t mind sacrificing a trait or utility for movement. I shouldn’t have to swap out the runes I want (superior infiltration runes), for runes that give me something as basic as swiftness. I’m looking at you, superior rune of speed.

How to Improve Revenants ideas

in Revenant

Posted by: Zaoda.1653

Zaoda.1653

For me, I think a few things that bug me that need addressing are the following, and I’ll be happy:

Give the revenant 5-10 or so utility skills – they could be stun breaks, shouts, whatever. Revenants need a few utility skills to choose from – not 3 for each legend that you literally have no say or choice in. I don’t think 24 or however many other classes get, would be appropriate, cause then the Rev would have TOO much going for them, but 5-10 utility skills that we can put on any legend would do wonders.

I personally would love to see a 25% movement signet utility skill (this could be one of the 5-10 utility skills?), or better yet, a trait for the Revenant that gives 25% movement. Because they seriously lack mobility.

Similar to how guardians can make their symbols last longer, have a larger radius, and heal you… I would suggest something similar for rifts. So this is my suggestion:

Grandmaster trait: Rift Lord

Rifts have a larger radius, last longer, and are now ground targeted.

I think if those were added, I’d be a happy player

Shiro Inspired Legendary Sword

in Community Creations

Posted by: Zaoda.1653

Zaoda.1653

I did a bit of photoshop today because I was bored, and I thought to myself, Shiro has really awesome swords, but I think they could be a bit more epic. And since he’s all about Jade, and being an assassin, I combined the two by creating a slimmer assassin-like version of the Jade sword, with a slight outer glow. I think it would be an awesome legendary sword. I know I’d probably buy it.

Perhaps the special effect of this legendary sword could be something like.. when you wield it, your armor is given a Jade-like stone texture. Sort of like how the Jalis elite skill gives you a stone armor effect.

Hi, I found somewhat of a fix.

I looked at my GW2 tab after all of this drama and trying about 5 or 6 more things yesterday, and thought to myself, this tab either looks really glitchy, or an extremely minimised character select screen. So I thought to myself, maybe, upon clicking the play button on GW2 launcher, for whatever bizarre reason, it automatically minimises the character select screen?

So sure enough, I right click on the tab, and there’s a ‘maximise’ option. I clicked it, and voila! I got my character select screen back!

I don’t know why it just started doing this for me 2 days ago. It’s SO random. As it is now, I cannot reduce it to window mode. I tried, but it keeps automatically minimising it to next to nothing. My only current option right now is playing it in max screen mode :-/ but I guess it’s better than nothing!

Still no sign of Anet for this (well, last post was 4 days ago, but no follow up – why am I not surprised). I’m starting to wonder why I bothered posting again on these forums when clearly these things aren’t a priority. Disappointing.

Tried a few more things today, including everything here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/support/PC-Install-Issue-No-Connect-Download-Fail

As well as reinstalling the entire GW2 client.

As well as renaming the GW2 files (apparently that worked for some people)

As well as adjusting my firewall settings to allow the ports of GW2, specifically

As well as resetting modem

As well as restarting computer

All did jack -bleep-

Don’t know what else I can do, because clearly nothing works and my internet works fine, so, I have no idea what’s going on, all I know is I just want to pull my hair out.

I reckon shatterer wings would be an amazing addition to GW2, so I came up with a slight concept using Photoshop. It’s not exactly how I want them to look like (would have the obsidian shard-like skeletal/bone thing of the dragon added but I couldn’t get it right so just excluded it altogether). But I managed to get some sort of shattered effect on the wings going on, and I think they’d look great on a Mesmer.

Still lack of swiftness skill. The only class

in Revenant

Posted by: Zaoda.1653

Zaoda.1653

This is one thing that frustrates me too. With some professions I HAVE to spend money on giving them runes of speed, just to keep up with the zerg in Edge of the Mists. It annoys me so much.

I would propose the idea of giving every profession the 25% passive movement speed signet for their utility bar. That way it doesn’t have to mess up any build you’re running. Alternatively, it could be added to one of the traits, like the 50% less fall damage trait.

Some professions have it easy when it comes to basic necessities, like movement, while others get the short end of the stick, or have to rely on using their weapon skills just to keep up with everyone else. It’s so wrong. Definitely needs a look into. At least with the Chronomancer, they’ll be given a movement trait, which is good, though in the meantime mesmers in particular will just have to pay up a bit for runes of speed or runes of the traveller (expensive those ones – ouch!).

I'm dying on the inside...

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Zaoda.1653

Zaoda.1653

Knowing there were so many amazing weapons and armor from the original Guild Wars game, that we simply don’t have available to us now in GW2.

I remember on my Paragon when I bought a Voltaic Spear in GW1 and dyed it black (found a great example of one via a Google Image search – see pic below to be in awe of its epicness). It cost me everything I had at the time, but it brought me so much joy & I had no regrets. Every day I would literally smile, because I had that one weapon I always wanted. The pulsating current effect on it… the ability to dye it the color I wanted… Heck, I remember all the amazing weapons that players came up with too, via the ‘Design a Weapon’ contest (http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Design_a_Weapon_Contest). We the players, were given the opportunity to make the game even more amazing than it already was, by having a say in what actually made it into the game. That was SO COOL! I miss that :-(

And while I’m ecstatic that everyone @ Arenanet are listening to us when it comes to the Revenant, I feel as though sometimes the best suggestions, especially the ones in the ‘[Suggestions] Gemstore Items’ thread (https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Suggestions-Gemstore-Items/first), can often go ignored. Yes, some of them have made it into the game from time to time – like the chaos and tormented weapon skins, and I REALLY do appreciate that, I just feel sometimes there’s so many suggestions in there that would make great content or gemstore additions, and aren’t even looked at or acknowledged.

Here’s a few examples:

Celestial Weapons (http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Gallery_of_Celestial_weapons)
Dyeable Weapons (would be a huge task, but an amazing update if it were ever made possible one day)
Legendary Dyes (metallic dyes, glowing dyes, sparkling dyes, you name it)
New hairstyles (players have even provided pictures of hairstyles they want – but nothing is added)
Non-trench coat skins for medium armor (because lets face it, at least 90% of the medium tops are trench coats)
More skimpy male armor (males get the short end of the stick when it comes to skimpy stuff)
Lord Faren and Kasmeer Meade swimsuit outfits (great gemstore additions if you ask me – picture also attached below)

There are literally 47 pages worth of AMAZING suggestions. There’s even weapon concepts that players have come up with themselves, that aren’t even acknowledged or implemented, like this one for example:

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/community/creations/Shatterer-Weapons-made-out-of-Screenshots/first

I mean, come on, these are incredible! That would make an epic new black lion weapons set. I know I’d be interested!

And another thread that should get some attention by Anet:

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/community/creations/Character-Select-Redesign/first

Arenanet, you’re doing an AMAZING job listening to us, and you’ve proven it with the Revenant by giving it weapon swap, and a whole bunch of other things lately. This is GREAT, this is what we want to see – feedback and suggestions actually being implemented. I just feel sometimes that some of the other threads I mentioned in here deserve a bit more love and attention too – because there’s SO many great ideas in these forums that should make it into the game, but go unnoticed.

PLEASE, when you have a spare moment during all the Heart of Thorns and Revenant testing, take a moment to consider all the other things that have been suggested here on these forums – because there’s a LOT of ideas worth implementing. Especially bringing back the Design-A-Weapon contest. Heck, if you brought it back now, there might even be time to let us have a vote in what new legendaries make it into Heart of Thorns?

Anyway, this is just my plea for all the amazing suggestions in these forums to get a look see, because often times it can feel like they go completely unnoticed. There’s a pool of suggestions, but an ocean of possibilities and potential, if they’re only looked at. Again, you guys are doing a great job, I just hope that all the other non-Revenant related suggestions are, at some point, looked at too :-)

Thanks again for listening to us, especially with all the recent Revenant changes. It means a lot. Let’s work together to make this game even more epic!

Ideas for other WvW "special events?"

in WvW

Posted by: Zaoda.1653

Zaoda.1653

I prefer the suggestion from a reddit thread where everyone not in combat is stealthed. Stealth is lost upon entering combat/getting hit, and you gain stealth again once out of combat.

Would be really interesting seeing, for example, 3 players in the distance on rams, and going up to attack them, only to see a whole enemy zerg emerge in front of your eyes as they get hit by your attacks and are revealed by getting into combat XD

Golem Rush Feedback Mega-Thread

in WvW

Posted by: Zaoda.1653

Zaoda.1653

As a player who does WvW/EOTM daily, overall, I thought the golem event spiced things up a bit, and certainly brought in more players than usual (which was one really good thing!).

I think if there were some things I would change in the future though, I would suggest making the golems run perhaps 50% or 75% faster, instead of 100%, as they ran faster than players running at 33%. I think golems should be able to keep up with any player running at 33%, or even just slightly faster than that – as they ran just a little too fast.

The next thing I would change is the 100% more damage to players. We were getting absolutely caned from a bunch of Omega golems. I’m talking 1 and even 2-hit ko’s. No chance to retaliate. In the future I would keep their damage against players as normal, and have no additional damage modifiers against players as it was a bit OP.

What I did love about this event was the fact that it brought golems back. And to me, WvW/EOTM without golems is like a baby without milk. I think they’re an icon of what WvW and EOTM is, but sadly I hardly ever see any golems in EOTM apart from when someone, usually new, throws a golem blueprint on the ground, and people just start randomly building it, and then someone enters the golem, and either walks it off the edge, or uses it for taking down a tower, then leaves it there to be destroyed by the enemies. This is such a waste!

I think the reason golems aren’t used much in EOTM (specifically), is because they’re just too darn slow, and they require a ton of supply, and 3 rams are usually faster than 1 golem, so golems are left for dead. Which brings me to my next point.

By making the golems require zero supply to make, it encouraged people to use them, and use them they did. This was one of the best aspects of the whole event in my opinion, because golems were instantly more useful than rams – which SHOULD be how it is, all of the time.

Looking to future events, as someone suggested on reddit in the ‘Feedback about the WvW Golem event’ thread (http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/3dr1f6/feedback_about_the_wvw_golem_event/), the next event could be an one where everyone is stealthed while out of combat. It would certainly be interesting!

Return of the Gods Living Story

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Zaoda.1653

Zaoda.1653

For a while now I’ve wanted some sort of ‘Return of Abaddon’ or ‘Return of the Gods’ Living Story in GW2, and although it’s not really appropriate at this stage of the game with all the Heart of Thorns and Mordremoth stuff, and the fact that it might not even happen… but, do you guys think that at some future point, we’ll see a return of the gods? Perhaps even Abaddon returning?

I remember when we had the option of voting for Ellen Kiel or Evon Gnashblade in Cutthroat Politics (https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Cutthroat_Politics), and most of us probably voted for Ellen simply because of the ‘cheaper waypoints for four weeks’ at the time, but one of the promises if Evon was chosen, was a ‘Fall of Abaddon’ fractal. Which got me thinking. There’s certainly interest in the past of GW1 – with the recent monk outfit, past legends being brought back for revenants, chaos and tormented weapon skins, to name a few examples… Perhaps this is a possibility after all?

Looking to the distant future, do you guys like the idea of a Return of the Gods Living Story?

Revenant Changes

in Revenant

Posted by: Zaoda.1653

Zaoda.1653

I’m just so happy about weapon swap in particular, and all the other changes. I have so much love for Anet right now!!! Thanks for listening to us and applying all the feedback. Revenant is going to be so much fun to play <3

The one and only thing I hoped would have been addressed though was Axe #5 skill and hoping it would become ground targeted (or have a trait for it) so that I can pull enemies off of towers in EOTM.

I think Temporal Rift has SO much potential. Also, being as Mace/Axe combo is intended to be a condition set, I think it would be awesome to have a torment-stacking effect – because torment in general, is an AMAZING concept, it’s just it lacks decent damage unless you can apply many stacks of it, and currently there’s no real way to apply tons of stacks.

I think if there was some sort of grandmaster trait for Mallyx which has a condition-stacking effect the longer you’re in combat or something would be awesome, and once it reaches X stacks of said condition/s, it resets (similar to the trait that periodically increases precision, until you crit).

Other than that, LOVE the changes!

Rune of the Revenant Ideas?

in Revenant

Posted by: Zaoda.1653

Zaoda.1653

Yeah I’d like to see new runes for the revenant, based on their legends too, like a healing one that’s ventari specific, or conditions that’s mallyx specific.

There could be one for Shiro that gives:

1) +2% damage against foes over 50% health
2) +35 Precision
3) +4% damage against foes over 50% health.
4) +65 Precision
5) +6% damage against foes over 50% health.
6) Release an explosion of Jade Shards that hit nearby enemies, upon being downed.

Revenant has weapon swap

in Revenant

Zaoda.1653

YAY THEY KILLED EVERY OTHER CLASS

Ok Ok in all seriousness, I dunno how I feel about this… On one hand yeah I guess it’s cool that rev gets weapon swap, but I am concerned that they have given people no reason to play the other classes now…

I’ll still play my other 3 main classes, along with revenant, simply because they’re all different in their playstyle. I think Ele still trumps all other classes when it comes to mass damage – no other class can really top their meteor skill, for example. Sure rev hammer #1 skill can hit up to 5 players, but it has nothing on meteor.

Other professions will use have their uses, it’s all about how much you enjoy that particular class. I for one, don’t like thief, but that’s because it’s very hands on, close combat et cetera. I know many who LOVE thief and it’s their main. I main Ele and LOVE it, some hate it because it’s so squishy.

Different strokes for different folks.

Underwater Rev Skill Suggestions here

in Revenant

Posted by: Zaoda.1653

Zaoda.1653

So I thought this would be a good topic to discuss underwater weapon skills and which underwater weapons Rev should get, being as Anet posted saying they haven’t talked about it yet, but that it’s ‘soon TM’ (https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/revenant/Revenant-will-not-get-underwater-combat/first#post5287990), so what better way to give them some ideas here?

I personally think spear would look good on the Revenant, especially the Al’ir’aska – A.K.A the makeshift Voltaic Spear (minus the special effects and ability to dye it), though spears tend to have a very limited range. I would hope there’d be a nice weapon for Rev with a range of 1000 or 1200.

I also think there should be some sort of Rift skill that deals damage, and a condition.

Maybe also a skill that’s related to the mists, or jade shards, which you could channel, and then release to deal AOE damage? Perhaps dealing more damage the longer you channel it? I don’t know, just a thought anyway.

Feel free to post your ideas and let’s give them some great suggestions to get this ball rolling!

Edit: Here’s a few words that might trigger some inspiration:

Rift
Explosion
Jade Winds
Jade Shards
Mists

Here’s also a list of Ritualist skills which you could modify to be Revenant/Mists related:

http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/List_of_ritualist_skills

I personally think the Celestial Summoning skill would be an interesting skill for the Revenant. Below is Lord Viktor with the Archemorous (Which I’m sure is a spear? Would be very appropriate here)

Hammer and The Revenant

in Revenant

Posted by: Zaoda.1653

Zaoda.1653

I personally tried revenant and used the juggernaut in eotm in the last beta, and it worked REALLY well. I was getting tons of loot bags (despite there being no point in picking them up because it isn’t saved!). I was also using berserker stats and a few ascended berserker trinkets too, and the damage was quite nice (will probably be even better with Shiro legend coming later on).

From the 2 that deal decent damage so far, Mallyx and Jalis (excluding Ventari cause that’s more healing oriented), I preferred Jalis simply because I liked the utility skills more. His Elite skill is also really nice and tanky. You can pull in your enemy with that chain utility skill for example, whereas Mallyx has utility skills that damage yourself, which, to me, isn’t very helpful.

I would say Jalis and Shiro will be the 2 main legends I use, personally. I originally thought Mallyx and Shiro, but no, I don’t like Mallyx’s utilities and their self harm effects.

Just my two cents anyway.

Edit: These are the traits I used

http://dulfy.net/gw2traits#build=AgYBWAKsA_w~

Also during the Beta, I used an ascended amulet with power, precision, toughness, with precision being the major of the 3 (I wanted a bit of toughness for some defence, while still keeping a good critical hit chance with the major being precision, and power for base damage). But do what you feel will do the most damage, or what feels right for you. I think instead of Invocation, I’d swap it out for Devastation when we can play in a future Beta with Shiro’s trait line, being as he’ll most likely provide even better damage modifiers.

Runes/Sigils need a rework now

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Zaoda.1653

Zaoda.1653

I thought about this the other day, and I agree. I would LOVE to have my superior infiltration rune set have the additional bonus of +25% movement – perhaps these new runes could be obtained via the mystic forge by combining components similar to something like this below?

Recipe: Superior rune of the Assassin:

Superior rune of infiltration
Superior rune of speed
5 ectoplasm
20 Philosopher’s Stone

Superior rune of the Assassin:

(1): +2% damage against foes with less than 50% health.
(2): +35 Precision
(3): +4% damage against foes with less than 50% health.
(4): +65 Precision
(5): +6% damage against targets with less than 50% health.
(6): +25% Movement Speed, When struck below 20% health, cloak for 4 seconds. (Cooldown: 60s)

These new runes and such could be ascended versions, and only provide 1 or 2 extra bonuses for quality of life (such as movement speed).

Edit: There could also be entirely new sets like OP suggests, to make up for the loss of the condition duration and boon duration trait lines that were ultimately taken away with the traits rework. I miss my fear based necro making the most out of his fear duration :-(

Also, are Anet ever going to give legendary weapons a Giver’s stats option? Kind of annoyed it’s still not an option and only their exotic versions are available (not to mention the Giver’s weapons give condition duration, but the armor gives boon duration → #makes no sense).

Edit: Regardless of what creature type he is, if, like you say, he’s constructed from the mists, there is even more reason for Razah to be a Revenant legend! As Revs are all about the mists (disclaimer: well, they’re not ALL about the mists. It’s an aspect of where they’re from, but you know what I mean…)

Falling Traits Feedback [merged]

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Zaoda.1653

I use the fall trait all the time on my Mesmer (really handy for extremely high areas where you’d normally die from such a fall). I think the OP makes a good suggestion in adding the 25% movement speed trait to go with it too – it makes sense.

What I find unfair is that some professions get the 25% run signet, while other professions miss out (although with the chronomancer, they get the 25% movement trait, still, it’ll be a while before mesmers get to actually use this). So adding the 25% movement trait to the 50% less damage from falling trait would be awesome.

If you could choose 2 additional legends?

in Revenant

Posted by: Zaoda.1653

Zaoda.1653

From the recent Wooden Potatoes video, it got me thinking… If I could choose 2 additional legends to bring back from the original Guild Wars… who would I pick? These would be my 2:

Razah – Epic Human Ritualist with tattoos and unique looking armor

Varesh Ossa – A cunning Human/Demon Dervish/Paragon. She’s also very stylish :-P (wishes to have her armor as a skin set for my mesmer)

Wouldn’t it be awesome if, in a future far, far away, there was a second expansion – and with it, brought 2 more legends for the Revenant? We can always dream anyway.

If YOU could bring back 2 additional legends for the Revenant, who would you choose?

Edit: Didn’t know which forum would be appropriate for this, General Discussion, Heart of Thorns, or the Revenant, being as it’s kind of related to all 3.

Ascended Assassin stats trinkets?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Zaoda.1653

Zaoda.1653

there is only two ascended assassin trinkets (one for offensive and one for defensive) finish the arah collection achievment to get zaitans claw, the easiest way to do that is to pvp the arah track a few times.

Speaking of Zhaitan’s Claw, when the new Lion’s Arch was revealed, I went around talking to random NPC’s (as you do, lol), and I saw this guy, who sells Zhaitan’s Claw for 5 gold and 40 laurels. I assume it’s because I have completed the Arah dungeon achievement. He probably sells the other ascended rings, provided you have completed said dungeon achievement.

Just thought I’d mention it, if others didn’t know about it.

World Completion & Waypoint Convenience

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Zaoda.1653

Zaoda.1653

World Completion can be quite difficult, but once completed, it’s rewarding to have everything unlocked. This can be quite tedious however, to have to repeat for additional characters. So this is what I suggest:

After you have achieved World Completion for one of your characters, you would gain access to a new NPC who can unlock waypoints for a fee of 5 silver per waypoint. The downside to this however, is if you agree to this, and unlock even just 1 waypoint for that particular map/zone, you also forfeit the map rewards upon completing that map.

So, if you create a new alt for example, and want to instantly unlock all the waypoints of the world (excluding zones that don’t require world completion, like the silverwastes, dry top, et cetera), you could pay a fee of 24.3 gold (486 waypoints x5 silver per waypoint), and unlock them all. In doing so, also forfeiting the map completion rewards for all those maps.

My reasoning behind paying 5s per unlocked waypoint (or 24.3g in total), and agreeing to forfeit the map completion rewards in return, is because this is a relatively fair price to pay for the luxury and convenience of saving time, and being able to travel anywhere, while still hurting your pocket a little. Furthermore, you’re paying a fee to unlock ONLY the waypoints (no points of interest, hearts, hero challenges or vistas), and really, if you’re doing world completion on alts, it’s usually just for the waypoints anyway (or gifts of exploration), rather than the map completion rewards.

The only exception to excluding map completion rewards for this, I believe, should be the FINAL reward of world completion. This is because you also have to unlock 652 points of interest, 303 hearts, 189 hero challenges, and 226 vistas.

Players could still complete maps like we do currently, and unlock everything slowly but surely, to gain the full map completion rewards, but for those who have already completed the world map, and just want the convenience of having all waypoints unlocked on other characters and are willing to pay a fee and forfeit the map completion rewards, this, I think, would be a great addition to GW2. With this, you’d also be able to see the world clearly (no foggy areas on the map), and, if you were going for world completion at a later date, you’d see with great clarity what you’re missing.

tl;dr

So lets say you decide to unlock all the waypoints of the world on a new character. Providing you’ve already achieved World Completion on one of your character’s, you could pay 24.3 gold in total (5 silver per waypoint x 486 of them), to have them unlocked, but also forfeit the map completion rewards for those zones. However, if you do decide to go for world completion on that character at a later date, and unlock the additional 226 vistas, 652 points of interest, 189 hero challenges, and 303 hearts, you will be rewarded with the final world completion reward of 2 gifts of exploration. I think this is all pretty fair for saving time and having the convenience of traveling anywhere.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Perhaps instead of forfeiting all the map completion rewards for unlocking waypoints in a zone, they could be halved? I don’t know… Just a thought.

Where did you get your PreCurser?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Zaoda.1653

I’ve been playing since the beginning and only a couple months ago I received my first (and probably last) precursor in Edge of the Mists. I was AOE’ing a bunch of enemies from behind the wurm gate at Badlands, and I checked my inventory after looting my loot and found the Tooth of Frostfang.

Sadly something I invested in went pear shaped and I lost 3/4 of the money on it, rendering my precursor find, pretty much a complete waste of time. Hopefully next time if I receive another precursor, I’ll probably just keep it and turn it into a legendary. Unless it’s an underwater one, then I won’t bother XD

Tuesday Update???

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Zaoda.1653

Zaoda.1653

We’re barely getting any updates these days :-/ Would be nice to get some sort of Pavillion event thing going (and staying) at least until HoT is ready, as other players have suggested in other threads.

As it is, I’ve been waiting for the scraps of information and we’re barely getting those now… this is making me slightly worried about the future of GW2.

Anet, I know you guys are busy with HoT, but PLEASE give us something permanent to do in the meantime (like bringing back the Pavillion or Dragon Bash or Bazaar of the four winds or SOMETHING). It would do wonders for everyone. There’s only so many characters I can get 100% world map completion on before wanting to pull my hair out and wanting to bang my head against a brick wall.

I’ll continue to get world completion on some of my characters (currently working on my warrior) until HoT is out or we get something new to do in game, but I must say I’m slightly peeved off :-(

My [big] Revenant Rework

I really hope Anet improve Temporal Rift (axe #5 skill) so we have the option (perhaps via a trait) to make it ground targetable (so I can pull enemies off towers tehehe), and either be unblockable, or have its width increased (the long range distance of 900 is fine – needs no change).

Revenant Improvement Suggestions Thread

in Revenant

Posted by: Zaoda.1653

Zaoda.1653

My feedback/suggestions:

Hammer: Too slow and clunky feeling. Needs to be a bit faster to make up for it

Weapon Swap: The Revenant definitely needs this. I want to be able to switch between hammer, and mace/axe – being as we can ONLY swap between 2 legends (compared with engineers which can have 5 F-skills and multiple toolkits, and eles which have access to 4 elemental attunements). We don’t even have any utility skills to choose from for goodness sake, the least the Revenant should have is weapon swap!

Axe Skill #5; Temporal Rift: This skill has so much potential. I’ve ALWAYS wanted a quicksand-like-skill that the grawl from Overgrowth’s Statuary in Edge of the Mists has, and to me, this skill is the closest we’ll get to it. I feel it’s a bit lacklustre right now though, and could be AMAZING with a trait which makes it 1) unblockable, and 2) ground targeted. I want to be able to pull enemies off of towers, and position myself in ways to gain the upper hand. Right now, I feel this skill is limited when it comes to me wanting to pull enemies off high ledges – and can’t. With this change, it would be perfect.

Mace #1 skill’s range: it’s too low. Increase it to 300, 420 or 600, and now you’re talking!

Ventari legend: Too much focus on healing, not enough power

Lack of stun breaks

Staff animations look great, but its base damage is horrible.

Those are the things that stand out for me, that need improvements.

I suspect swords will come if shiro is indeed the 4th spec, which strong indications show

Remember, the beta isn’t the full Rev, so plenty to be added yet

That’s pretty fair. I know it’s a beta but I thought all the specs were released/revealed already for it.

Nope, there’s still Shiro and the Revenant’s specialisation to come. So 2 more trait lines are going to be added in the future for a total of 6 total trait lines (of which, we can choose any 3), like all other professions.

Lock out mystic forge and looting during BETA

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Zaoda.1653

Zaoda.1653

Lmao, it’s obvious that you wouldn’t be able to keep anything from your beta character. So getting a pre on it is…pointless.

I got my first Pre today (The Legend) by spending 40 gold on rares after seeing others link and talk about their legendaries in map chat. Happy bunny after that. And yes, on my main account, i don’t do beta’s.
After that, spend some gold on the glob npc and came out on top : 48g+.
Good times, good times.

It SHOULD be obvious for most players to read the warning that progress and rewards on beta characters and maps aren’t saved, but I guess there’s a lot of players that can’t read :-/ Either that, or they know full well, but just want to whine in the hopes they’ll get their way and keep countless free skins and precursors (lol). My guess is the latter ;-)

Lock out mystic forge and looting during BETA

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Zaoda.1653

The whole ’I’m mad because I can’t keep all these skins and this precursor I obtained from putting in infinite exotics into the mystic forge’ is getting really tiring to be honest.

Aren’t people well aware by now that, as it says on the top of the loading screen (and any map in Beta for that matter) when you play your Beta character, that progress and rewards obtained by beta characters and on beta maps aren’t saved for your main account?

The only thing I do agree that is bad and relates to keeping items/progress, is how you have to make sure you’re on one of your non-beta characters at reset, so you don’t lose out on your daily log-in chest reward (maybe it’s been changed since last time? I don’t know, but just going by past history, players missed their daily log-in chest because they happened to be on a beta character when the log-in chest popped, so it could only be opened on that beta character, rendering their reward useless because it wasn’t kept).

@LimitBreaker.4165

I agree. Loot and rewards in general should just be unobtainable in the Beta, so people don’t QQ when they get something good. After all, the whole point in this Beta was to experiment with builds, weapons, etc. not to get loot.

Also, for those that didn’t see the permanent warning (or perhaps refuse to accept the truth that they saw the warning in the Beta for progress and rewards not being kept on Beta characters & maps, but continued to use the mystic forge in hopes that, once they obtained said precursor/s and skin/s, whine on the forums and hope they get to keep it), I’ve attached two pictures below and drawn a few arrows. The obvious has now been officially pointed out to you. You’re welcome.

I can see how some might see all this feedback as ‘hating’ the revenant, but to me, players are just pointing out what they see as faults in the profession. With feedback, you’re going to get the good with the bad, more so the bad, to polish it to perfection.

Yes I think the Rev could have some major improvements as I’ve pointed out in some of my other posts, but do I HATE the Revenant? No. I think it has huge potential if polished and feedback is taken aboard to change said faults people have pointed out.

I like the fact that there are different legends which cater to different playstyles – mallyx with conditions, ventari with healing etc. etc.

With any profession, you’re going to get a ton of feedback, and because everyone’s really getting to experience more features of the Revenant (and for many new players, experiencing the Revenant for the first time), it’s normal to see so much discussion about it.

Revenant Feedbacks [merged]

in Revenant

Zaoda.1653

My thoughts on Rev are it feels clunky, but has so much potential to be great.

For me:

Hammer: Love the range of it, skill 3 is a bit annoying though because it changes the camera angle, also the hammer feels slow and clunky

Staff: Tried Ventari and Staff. Didn’t like any of it (well, not everything, the animations are nice!). Damage is poor and it’s too focused on healing, leaving you to not really do much damage – kinda like water staff ele (though at least their skill #2 deals a decent amount of dmg). Will probably give this weapon and trait line a miss for me personally.

Mace/Axe: I love the Temporal Rift skill the most here (not liking the poor range on mace/axe though – I think a range of 600 would be better for skills #1,2,3 and 4, and keep temporal rift’s range of 900), but it frustrates me that it can’t be ground targeted. I want to pull people off towers in Edge of the Mists, like Mesmer’s can with their focus #4. This skill has SO much potential. Perhaps add a trait which makes it ground targetable so you can control where the rift is placed. Also making it unblockable would make it perfect! Sorta like how necro’s have traits which make certain skills unblockable.

I’d also like to see more skill variety. While it’s nice to have the option of channelling another legend, limiting our utility skills to what.. 3 or 4? It’s pretty frustrating. Like others say, needs more stun break. Would love to see a few signets or shouts too. Perhaps a passive heal signet and a shout that breaks stuns.
