Tangled Roots Meta event is way too hard

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: Zaoda.1653

Zaoda.1653

Please stay on topic. >_>

When I first saw your post and about the topic of Tangled Depths (yes it was talking about the META of said map, but, it’s all in the same context of TANGLED DEPTHS – I didn’t start talking about doughnuts or global warming) my mind went immediately to Tangled Depths and my frustration with the maps.

Sorry if my post was regarded as ‘off topic’ but there really was no need to report me for it. I wasn’t doing any intentional derailing of ANY sort, when I see a title, my mind, for whatever reason, filters out the rest and just focuses on a few words – in this case, Tangled Depths. But because of who I am and how my mind works differently than other people, I am now being infracted for it.

I can’t even post anything these days without getting punished for stupid reasons. So thanks. I’m no longer going to post on these forums. I’m sure you will also report this post. Goodbye GW2 forums. I have had it with your infraction-heavy-ridiculousness. Good luck to others posting and be sure to not go off topic or else you might find yourself in the same boat.

How to obtain the Pet Seed if you deleted it?

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: Zaoda.1653

Zaoda.1653

Thanks Stin :-P I should be ok though with costs and such.

I won’t send in a ticket because I already know it will be a resounding no (they said no to an infinite gathering tool I long ago deleted simply because I couldn’t move it to my other character – this was BEFORE the update that made the account bound versions). So I know what they’ll say. Something along the lines of ‘we can’t refund deleted items’. Same story, different item.

I’ll try to see if I can get any form of seed for the progression of it, via the dragons reach story on one of my new characters. Hopefully it works, but if not I’ll just give up on Mawdrey once more. I really don’t fancy going through all that work again :-(

Thanks but there’s still no ETA on a fix. At least they’re communicating about it though. Would have been nice for them to make some sort of sticky about it, because not everyone reads the WvW forum anymore (simply because it hardly ever gets any dev attention – when it comes to bugs, suggestions for improvements, et cetera).

Notarized Scroll Frustration

in WvW

Posted by: Zaoda.1653

Zaoda.1653

I think having them soulbound is really stupid in my opinion. That’s like saying ‘in order for you to use tomes of knowledge on your warrior, you must earn those tomes of knowledge only on a warrior in pvp’.

I mean, really?

By having them soulbound, what we end up with is leftover soulbound proofs of heroics that become useless because you’re hoping that when you open up that chest of the mists you just happen to make a perfect 10 proofs of heroics to hand in. My ele always has 1 proof of heroic leftover, and same with my revenant. If they weren’t soulbound perhaps I’d actually be able to make use of them.

Furthermore, to back up my reasoning on why making them soulbound is so stupid, is the fact that the chests of the mists are account bound. So you can give the proofs of heroics to other characters (as it should be in my opinion), but instead, the chests of the mists don’t stack. So you have to put in umpteen chests into your bank, clogging up valuable space, all because the proofs of heroics are soulbound (despite them being transferable via account bound chests of the mists). So stupid…

When can we be expecting a fix/ETA for AoE loot from Pact Commander’s Advanced Logistics in WvW & EOTM? It’s been quite a few days now and I’m missing out on loot that should have been in my inventory.

At this rate, I would tell people to not even bother going for Advanced Logistics until it’s fixed or we have confirmation that something is actually being done about it.

Not really happy about the lack of communication on it either :-/ is something being done about it? Or are we going to be kept in the dark?

Auric Chests - Worthy? o-o

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

I think it’s stupid that only the great and grand chests are worth opening. Anet might as well just remove the mediocre normal chests – they’re not worth opening.

Also, despite having exalted purification (4th mastery of 5), and being able to access the tarnished traitor daily, I was extremely let down that it only gives a rare and few blues or greens. Why would I even bother?

Seriously lacks decent rewards…

Matching dye(s) to go with Auric Weapons?

Yeah the only annoying thing about dyes is that they can look one way on one piece of armor, but completely different on another, depending on material of armor, lighting etc. I’m still trying to find a perfect match for the green glowy bits so I’ll also try Spring Leaf as you mentioned.

Canopy over Noble Crash Site Hero Challenge is bugged for me. On my map it says it’s incomplete (as it says ‘earn 10 hero points’), but when I’m actually there, it says I’ve gained all I can from it.

https://dviw3bl0enbyw.cloudfront.net/uploads/forum_attachment/file/209853/gw2_small_bug.png
The same happened in my case too.

I also did not get any retroactive rewards for 100% Southsun Cove, Dry Top, or Silverwastes, if there are any.

I just found out that #6 and #11 were swapped around, but for some reason #6 was showing up as incomplete for me, so I tried doing #11 and it seemed to resolve the problem. Still needs fixing on Anet’s part though

So if #6 hero challenge (Pact Airship Wreckage) is bugged for anyone else and it’s showing up as incomplete on the map, but complete when you attempt to commune with it, you need to do #11 hero challenge – below is a guide from Dulfy as to how you do #11:

How to obtain the Pet Seed if you deleted it?

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: Zaoda.1653

Zaoda.1653

(the Pet Seed is used in crafting Mawdrey)

I deleted the Pet Seed a while back because one of the components of it I couldn’t be bothered to get, but now I have said component, I want to work towards making Mawdrey again but not sure where to go to get a Pet Seed replacement.

Is there a personal story step I could redo to obtain the Pet Seed? Or an npc I don’t know about who gives it back if lost or deleted? I wikipedia’ed it but all I can gather from it is that I may need to go right back to the beginning to get the first ‘Mysterious Seed’ (https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mysterious_Seed) and basically start from scratch, which I’m hoping isn’t the case because I’ve previously done all the work up until the Cultivated Vine (https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Cultivated_Vine) which is on my thief at the moment from memory, but am just without the Pet Seed which came along with crafting the Cultivated Vine.

I’m hoping there’s a way to get it back, but need help knowing how I would go about that. Thanks in advance!

Exalted/Auric Glider Wings Skin [request]

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Can we please have these as a glider skin? (see pic)

Also, I know there’s the auric backpiece, and the luminate’s backplate, but would it be possible for you guys to make an ascended version of the luminate’s backplate with longer tendrils – just like how the exalted have them? Ok, maybe not THAT long, but you know what I mean… a decent length.

And finally, would it be possible to make exalted/auric armor? I really want my ele to have the glowy bits that the exalted have, with the shiny armor bits surrounding it, along with an upgraded luminate’s backplate, and exalted/auric glider skin to go with it all. Even if it was a legendary armor skin and it took forever to get, I’d want it. All I want my elementalist to look like is an exalted, ever since I saw them in HoT. PLEASE make it happen

The exalted just look amazing, and I figure, why stop at the tonics, minis, weapons and backpiece? We need a whole set of this stuff! And speaking of… as soon as I saw the endless exalted bastion tonic, I just had to have it. No regrets. Thanks so much Anet for this tonic. I don’t use tonics much, but this was an exception!

I LOVE it!!!! Best outfit ever (though still hoping for a Lord Faren speedo outfit one day lol). Thanks Anet for also making dyeable flames. I’ve been waiting for something like this for ages, and as soon as I saw it was dyeable, I instantly bought it. I’m currently using it on 2 of my characters that really suit them and their look – ele and guardian. The whole outfit is just amazing. I can’t fault it.

Also, if there’s a possibility, could you guys please please please do more dyeable animated stuff in the future? It’s frikkin amazing!!! (But at the same time remember/keep in mind the more serious things like the improvised weapon skins – those are really cool too, and I’m loving the non-flashy serious/funny-looking black lion skins)

Again, thanks so much for the dyeable flames and the epicness of the outfit in general,

250 HP For Elites [Feedback][Merged]

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: Zaoda.1653

Zaoda.1653

Mind you, I’m more excited for the map population fix. The maps are often too sparsely populated and you end up wait around a lot for some of the group content like the Creeping Crevasse hero point.

Same. The lack of players in these areas full of hard hitting 1 and 2 shot k.o. monsters makes it frustrating to achieve things when you’re trying to run past an area and just get instantly killed, but there’s power in numbers, and hopefully with more populated maps we’ll be able to get things done faster and with less frustration

250 HP For Elites [Feedback][Merged]

In an ideal world, I would have preferred 200 HP, but 250 is also reasonably fair :-D thanks for listening to us players Anet :-) now perhaps my characters will be able to unlock their specs!

Also, for all those extra hero points that have no use now, you guys (Anet) could always fill in the slots with more specialisation skins? :-P LOVING the chronomancer shoulder skin. I’m still working on getting it, but I have an outfit already in mind for my elementalist. He’ll be ‘Exalted’ themed (see picture below).

I wish we could have enchanted armor skins with the glowy bits and the long flowy transparent tendrils though – that would just be amazing. Though I think because it would be animated it would have to be legendary armor skins. I know I’d work for it.

Guild hall decoration requests!

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: Zaoda.1653

Zaoda.1653

Would be cool to have some lighting decorations too – like a ‘glow bug’ lantern for example.

Also it would be nice to have a way of showing some weapons you’ve unlocked like in GW1 hall of monuments. Perhaps have legendaries you’ve unlocked on display? Or for example, with Bifrost, you could unlock a painting that you can hang on a wall, and the picture is actually animated, like you’re looking into another world. It could have a day and night cycle and everything!

The guild I’m in is only a very small guild but it’s nice because it’s more 1 on 1 conversation than some of the bigger guilds, but anyway what I’m getting at is the decision we’ve come to where we’ll all decide on a piece of land/area in the Guild Hall (gilded hollow in our case) that will be our own personal space. So things like this would be perfect for setting up your own weapon/armor display case/s, showing what you’ve accomplished etc.

Supply Line Management Suggestion

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Zaoda.1653

Zaoda.1653

Dear Anet,

I really like the Pact Commander line mastery, and I love the idea of an NPC going around the world everyday, traveling and offering their services to us, but there’s just a few things I’ve noticed that I see as problems, and I believe could be improved on.

Problems & Solutions

1) The merchants don’t have any unique map icons to show their location or who they are

2) Perhaps make it like Nicolas the Traveler from GW1 – where the NPC remains stationary at 1 particular place (by stationary I mean they don’t walk from one place to another, or do a lap around the map). However, their map location (kessex hills, dry top, lions arch, etc.) changes every day.

3) As it is now, it’s hard to keep track of who is a merchant, and who is not, when they blend in so well to other NPC’s. A solution to this would be to just keep it as 1 NPC so it doesn’t cause any confusion. I would highly recommend bringing Nicolas the Traveler back as the trader/traveller/agent/merchant/npc/whatever you want to call it :-)

4) I feel these merchants need to offer more reward options. For example, if what the merchant was offering for trade that day wasn’t up to your liking, you could, instead, purchase a ’Traveler’s Gift’ for 5000 karma. This gift would be an item that, when double-clicked on, opens up an interface to provide a range of rewards to choose from.

New rewards could be:

Maguuma Jungle currencies (Airship Parts, Lumps of Aurillium, Ley Line Crystals)
Spirit Shards
Obsidian Shards
Dragonite Ore
Bloodstone Dust
Empyreal Fragments
Box of WvW Supplies (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Box_of_WvW_Supplies)
Bag of Educational Supplies (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Bag_of_Educational_Supplies)

Perhaps even Badges of Honor, Dungeon tokens, Fractal Relics, and Laurels??? It’s really up to Anet.

Anyway thanks for taking the time to read, and PLEASE bring back Nicolas the Traveler

How would you rate the HoT Fun Factor?

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: Zaoda.1653

Zaoda.1653

7/10

Would give more but really not enjoying the grindyness of spamming skill 1 on staff guardian in cursed shore just to level up tyria masteries. I think there should be more productive ways, like, for example, allow us to level our masteries in all 3 game modes (PvE, WvW, PvP), not just strictly PvE.

I really want to level my masteries EOTM (with a reduction in xp towards masteries here, being as there are so many events) so I can find levelling masteries more enjoyable.

I’ve managed to grind through 4 levels of pact commander in Cursed Shore, but it’s soooo boring. I want to get on with other things already, like gliding more in Maguuma, getting maguuma mastery points, and EOTM. Grinding, I guess, is the price you have to pay for unlocking neat content.

When I get bored of cursed shore event farming on my guardian, I’m in maguuma, and it’s really fun using gliding. I wish we could glide over all of tyria too :-( seems such a waste to have such an amazing feature in only a few areas of the world.

The Great Mystery... (Melandru Backpack)

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Zaoda.1653

So we know from one of the POI’s that there’s a melandru backpack recipe that can be bought from a merchant using karma as currency if you have the 3rd level of the pact commander mastery line.

So I just obtained level 3 in it today but nowhere did the devs mention where these npc’s actually were, apart from somewhere in tyria.

I’ve been all round the place looking at heart vendors, karma vendors, lions arch, you name it, and I can’t find it.

I know it’s supposed to be all mysterious and whatnot, but I’m going slightly cray-cray here. Are we going to get a hint as to where these mysterious npcs are or do we have to go round the mulberry bush? Are the npc’s even in the game at the moment? :-/ It’s nice to finally be able to get the requirement for purchasing said recipe, but it’s not very helpful when you don’t even know where to buy it… just saying.

About the recent finishers sales

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Zaoda.1653

Zaoda.1653

I said I wouldn’t be posting on the forums again because I was wrongly infracted last time, but I have to break my word to post this. And I’ll probably be infracted again for having an opinion, but whatever…

I just heard about this today, and as someone who has bought the skritt finisher and the ascalonian leader finisher for FULL price with gems in the past, I find it extremely shady of Anet to do this. You feel absolutely cheated as a customer.

You won’t see me sending in a ticket for everything I’ve bought on the gemstore for full price previously, that all of a sudden went on discount a week or two or three ago and I am not being compensated for, but this is becoming ridiculous and all too frequent.

Why should newer players constantly benefit from coming in late to the game and get everything cheap (getting the base game for free, while others had to pay, might I add, but that’s another topic in and of itself)? Why should newer players benefit from finishers becoming available for 14-44g on the trading post, while others in the past had to pay 146g in gems? (700 gems per finisher). I’m getting tired of being punished for supporting the very game and staff that make it, only to get multiple slaps in the face by YOU discounting everything for newer players and making things that WE had to pay for, FREE to everyone else that decides to join the game.

This whole shady business isn’t exactly filling me with confidence for future purchases.

I mean where do you draw the line Anet? I feel really cheated, and I’m not the only one. I probably won’t get any compensation either, and I shouldn’t have to send in a ticket (which would probably get rejected anyway because I bought them a while back). I’m starting to second guess now whether I should be buying any more outfits, because that’s what will be next… let’s be honest. You heard it here first.

#customersgettingrippedoff #notlookinggoodforHoT #doesntfillmewithconfidence #shadydealings

And after this whole thing Anet, you won’t be getting any more real life money from me ever again. I’ve spent over $1300, but from now on, no more. All this shady stuff (and rewording statements to avoid legal issues) has to end. You think I may only be one person, but you’ve lost a customer for life, a high paying customer at that, and you’ve forever broken my trust with you.

I’m a bit 50/50 on this whole thing though because, while I bought all the electro dyes @ around 150g each a while back to unlock them all, I feel kinda cheated because I could have just waited if I knew this was going to happen, and save myself a lot of money. On the other hand I’m glad more people will have access to them for free (in time). And I guess when my first character reaches 3 years old I’ll finally be able to get myself the enamelled crimson dye unlocked for my ranger. There’s no way I’m spending 400g on an enamelled crimson dye! 150g per electro dye was already pushing it.

I dunno. I guess it’s worth it seeing as your character has to be 3 years old to get one of the exclusive dyes, and at least they’re account bound.

Guild wars 2 anniversary sale [merged]

I lol’ed when I saw today’s ‘sale’. So the molten logging tools were brought back, but not discounted at all. And to add further reason not to buy them, is the watchwork mining pick gives you additional watchwork sprockets, which all the other mining tools (like this molten one) don’t – so there’s that.

Why would I want to buy a molten pickaxe, knowing there’s the watchwork mining pick that gives me extras, which in turn, gives me more profit? The only reason I can think of is if you’re trying to match the logging tools with said character’s theme I.E. molten for fire elementalist, dreamthistle for dreamthistle necromancer, mad scientist for engineer etc. but you see, this isn’t a good enough incentive. No discounts. No extras. No reason to buy.

I don’t call this one a sale at all. I call it a ‘brought back these items that no one will want to buy’ thing.

I’d also like to see a healing skill that’s a shout. That way it synchronises with any traits that involve shouts.

Wash the Pain Away is a Shout…

Oh nice. I thought it was a utility skill but you’re right. A shame about the 1 and a half second activation time though :-/ it shouldn’t take that long for a shout skill in my opinion. Should be 3/4 of a second, just like the arcane healing skill.

Can’t tell if I should judge this as 3 words or 1…

3 words. Just happen to be the same word x3 to emphasize how average I find the Herald.

Maybe “meh” is not even a word to be honest. Not sure however.

Yayyyyyy, except I’m going away for 3 weeks from August 26 (25th for the rest of the world). So I guess I’m going to miss out on a lot of it >_<

I really hate the whole ‘be here on this exact date or miss out’ thing Anet has happening. I don’t think they realise they’re actually losing money by taking them away, rather than just leaving them in the gemstore for people to buy whenever you want/can. Oh well.

Your ideas for Tempest changes

I’ve come up with a couple ideas for Tempest grandmaster traits:

Righteous Resistance:

Become invulnerable while using an Overload. (my reason behind this is that overloads are very short in duration, and there should be a HUGE incentive to using an overload. This would be a great incentive, would make enemies truly fear you and try to avoid you, and would be a pretty good trait, hence grandmaster).

War Caller:

Based on your current attunement, shouts inflict a condition on foes. Gain more ferocity (+150) when using a shout. Shouts recharge (20%) faster. (inspired by the arcane grandmaster trait, elemental surge)

Fire: Burning
Water: Vulnerability
Air: Weakness
Earth: Bleeding

I’d also like to see a healing skill that’s a shout. That way it synchronises with any traits that involve shouts.
