Careful guys, reporting your disconnects can get you infracted. I reported about a disconnect error earlier and got an infraction for “derailing” a thread – how is referring to another post that includes the disconnect error (because I didn’t take a screenshot of said error code, but this player did), derailing?

If referring to another thread to explain the error I got is “derailing”, then I feel as though I can no longer post any errors I get in game. Anet, how do you think this makes ME feel as a player, if I feel I can’t post any errors I get in game on here? How can I have ANY confidence that I will not get wrongfully infracted in the future? Please sort out your forum moderators – they are EXTREMELY infraction-happy.

This isn’t the first time I’ve been wrongfully infracted either… but that’s fine… I simply won’t report my in-game issues anymore. I might get infracted again because of it.

[Request]: Black Weapons

I would love to see black weapons that are as black as the abyss dye. I’m hoping one day too, that Anet will release a dye even blacker than Abyss – like the complete opposite of Permafrost for White. It would be so black that it covers all detail. It would go very well with a set of really black weapons.

I’m getting the exact same thing. Every 1-3 hours I’m in WvW it just randomly gives me this stupid error message, forcing me to close the GW2 client and reopen it. I’ve probably missed 10 pips because of this and it’s frikkin annoying.

What’s more annoying is that the error says it’s because of firewall or router settings – no, it’s not. My firewall and router settings are perfectly fine, and GW2 has been running fine for ages, I haven’t changed a single thing. This only started ever since the previous patch.

So it’s nothing on my end. If anything, Anet should look at their recent patches, because something from that is causing this.

Now I feel bad for having focused on the legendary back instead of going for the armor.

If I knew this would be coming, my decision would have been different.

Same. I’ve just got 2 more backpacks worth of tickets to go before I can make Warbringer, but I’m completely stopping works on Warbringer and just going for the armor now.

The only thing I find frustrating, is that the WvW claim tickets are heavily timegated, and despite WvW’ing my backside off week after week for I think it’s been 7 or 8 weeks in a row now, making sure I get all 175 tickets per week, I still haven’t been able to get the legendary backpack yet, and now with all this awesome legendary armor coming, and also requiring the same (if not MORE?) tickets, I feel like I’ll have to spend the next half a year working towards these items :-/ and it’s all locked behind a timegate and mass amounts of money.

I suppose it’s fine though… I just made the ascended WvW legs today in preparation for this update, because that’s all I could afford anyway, lol – I had 350 tickets, but spent almost all of it on 2 recipes (the grand marks and the ingredients recipe) and the basic WvW ascended legs. Money isn’t a problem because that’s something I can save up for and work towards, and I’ll eventually get there one day for all armor pieces – but the stress of getting all 175 tickets weekly really messes with my head sometimes.

I guess what I’m saying is that I wish there wasn’t a weekly timegate on tickets – considering how costly all these recipes and items are, but I’m glad Anet are giving us stat-changing armor for WvW. I thought the day would never come!

Gliding and Territories in WvW

Gliding in WvW sounds awesome.

I’m a bit curious as to how it will play out though if, say, you’re just about to glide from a territory you own, but an enemy suddenly captures your territory/area, unbeknownst to you, will this also kick you out of gliding? Like if enemies are capturing your tower, and you’re gliding off the tower when they capture it, will your gliding then fail?

They say there is a time window where you can land or something.

For future reference, use the devs tracker if you don’t want to sift through the crying posts.

Ah, thanks!

WvW and PvP Ascended Armor Upgrades

in WvW

Posted by: Zaoda.1653

Zaoda.1653

When the August 8th update is released, WvW and PvP players who own Heart of Thorns will be able to upgrade their WvW and PvP ascended armor to have legendary attributes! This new type of armor will not have a unique skin, such as the one that is part of the raids legendary armor, but instead will consist of an upgrade to WvW and PvP ascended armor that gives those armor pieces legendary stat-swapping capabilities without changing the skin.
The following PvP and WvW ascended armor can be upgraded to allow stat swapping:
• Triumphant Hero’s Ascended Armor
• Mistforged Triumphant Hero’s Ascended Armor
• Ardent Glorious Ascended Armor
• Glorious Hero Ascended Armor
To upgrade a piece of WvW or PvP ascended armor, combine 3 new PvP or WvW gifts with 1 piece of ascended gear in the Mystic Forge. You can purchase ingredients for the gifts from either Commander War Razor in WvW or the Ascended Armor League Vendor in PvP.

Just to clarify… by 3 new gifts, what do you mean by this? Can I put in 3 gifts of battle, or a mix of other wvw gifts? I’m not quite sure what is meant here

Edit: NVM – saw the post saying wvw new gifts coming on the 8th of august. Thought by ‘new gifts’ the ones required for warbringer, were the gifts, but no – new as in, REALLY new.

Adonis Belt (the name of the V shaped curve below the abs)

Well, I learned something new today. Thank you!

The outfit looks great and I’d like to bring up that the developers thought of the two cosmetically-challenged races! For charr the coat part is split in the back for the tail, the boots have an open heel to accomodate the dewclaw and the horns don’t clip with the helmet. For asura all three toes are properly accounted for and the ears don’t clip with the helmet out of combat when they droop nor in combat when they perk up.

Heh yeah it always bugged me that I couldn’t describe what I thought was one of the most attractive features of the male form, so one day I decided to google it.

Quoted from Wiki:

“The Apollo’s Belt, also known as Iliac Furrow, is a term for a part of the human anatomy. It refers to two shallow grooves of the surface anatomy of the human abdomen running from the iliac crest (hip bone) to the pubis.”

“The expression “Adonis belt” is also encountered, though less common."

I prefer calling it the Adonis belt, as apposed to the Apollo’s Belt though, because an attractive guy is usually given the term ‘Adonis’, like ’isn’t he an Adonis!?’, so it makes sense to me that this should be the preferred word.

Is that the so-called “Spearmarshal’s Presense” that is mentioned in the Deluxe Edition? If so, what is the “Lily of the Elon Pass”? A location teleport?

The Spearmarshall’s Presence is the outfit, and the Lily of the Elon Permanent Pass gives you access to a “luxury riverboat casino notorious for serving both the nobility, and criminal underground. This decadent den of iniquity offers convenience and comfort to those in the know, with access to vendors”.

It’s all found here: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/path-of-fire/

Just hover over the Packages to see what each one offers.

I have the pass, but it obviously can’t be used yet until the expansion comes out. See pic below. It’s basically like a desert styled Royal Terrace pass.

If you think it’s tough paying in Australian dollars, try paying in New Zealand dollars. I bought the Ultimate Package ($80 US), which in NZD, converts to $107.73 ($7 more than if I lived in Australia). The conversion rates are annoying.

It’s just the price I have to pay for living in a different country. I’m used to it. It’s like all the gemstore purchases I make at $100 USD each – it means I have to pay an extra $34.66 everytime.

I’m used to paying more. It’s just the way it is, unfortunately.

It’s been a major complaint, as well as the fact that there were so few skins on release.

I was disappointed there wasn’t any mention of new skins or anything, though I think it just wasn’t a priority/worth mentioning in the expansion announcement, as it’s clear there are new weapon and armor skins in the expac footage – It would be nice to see all the new skins that will be coming with Path of Fire though. I love the chest piece of the sunspear outfit, though I must admit I was extremely saddened that it was an outfit, rather than a set of armor skins. I’d love to just have the chest piece as a skin, but sadly it’s not possible.

I’m also not particularly a fan of the weapon skins, but I’m glad that Anet still introduced them, as we need more plain looking weapon skins – if you look at the wardrobe, currently, there are WAYYY too many magical-looking weapons with floating things or sparkly/glowy effects. I think it’s good that we’re getting more plain looking weapons – I love many of the plain weapons from GW1, for example.

I would be very happy if Anet provided separate skins for the sunspear outfit, or we were able to convert our outfits into a set of separate skins.

Thanks for the Sunspear/skimpy male, I REALLY love the chest piece on the males, and the fact that it shows the Adonis Belt (the name of the V shaped curve below the abs – as circled in the picture I’ve attached).

My one and only constructive criticism I have about it though is that, because it’s an outfit, I’m unable to truly individualize my character’s look. For example, I’d love to be able to just have the chest piece as a skin, and hide the shoulders, so I can show more skin.

I hope one day we’ll be able to have separate skins from outfits that we have bought/unlocked – but despite it being an outfit, I’m glad that Anet have given us a skimpy male chest piece, and I hope this trend of male skimpy continues :P

More paragon-like armor skins please!! :P

Rant [& Question re: builds]

in Mesmer

Posted by: Zaoda.1653

Zaoda.1653

So I really want to get my mesmer’s world completion to 100% before the expansion comes out, but I can’t stand the skills, and how it revolves so much around the summoning and destroying of clones and phantasms to kill things (the destroying of clones is fine, but always summoning clones and phantasms is just plain annoying – ain’t nobody got time for that!). She’s currently at 69% completion, with all waypoints unlocked, and a few maps 100% completed, but mostly just missing pois, hearts and vistas now.

With so many hearts requiring you to kill things, I find myself in a dilemma, because in order to kill things efficiently, usually the best way is to summon and destroy clones or phantasms (and even then, you have to time the destruction of your clones and phantasms on that 1 single enemy before it’s completely killed, or else if the enemy dies before you get to destroy your clones and phantasms, you basically waste the damage you could have done to MULTIPLE enemies, if you destroyed them all before that 1 single enemy died).

I guess I’m just frustrated with the function of phantasms and clones, and the fact that you have to do this with basically EVERY monster you come across. This, I feel, is just a complete waste of time and a complete and utter nuisance.

See, if I’m an elementalist, I don’t have to summon, say, tornadoes, and then destroy them, in order to deal a decent amount of damage (thank god!) – all I have to do is press skill #1 on my staff, while attuned to fire, and hey, the damage comes rolling in. With mesmer? It feels like a REAL mission to deal damage quick and easily.

I feel as though mesmer is really clunky and slow as a profession. Sometimes I wish that clones/phantasms would just automatically be summoned everytime you attack something – it makes perfect sense to me. No more wasting time summoning this and that, and then destroying them (at a very specific moment) just to deal decent damage.

I find I kill things WAYYY faster on my ele than I would, with a mesmer, unfortunately I can’t use elementalist skills on my mesmer (as much as I would love to – trust me!) – and I want to get this character to 100% map completion, but their skills are just a real downer to me. So with all that being said… my question is:

TL;DR: Are there any good PvE builds that don’t require clones/phantasms as the main source of damage, are power based, and use melee/physical attack skills? Preferably ones that deal good AOE damage.

I find Sword #2 is really nice, but I still feel mesmers are seriously lacking something. Maybe it’s a lack of weapons that are 1) fast in speed – (think the speed of a traited revenant’s sword), 2) that has powerful, AOE skills, and 3) doesn’t require summoning any clones or phantasms to deal decent damage. I think this is what the mesmer seriously lacks.

I’m kinda hoping the axe that’s coming with the Mirage specialization will solve all these problems (and I doubt clones and phantasms being summoned automatically upon attacking something will happen), but until then, I’m really frustrated with the mesmer’s skills and constant summoning and destroying of clones and phantasms.

Am I the only one here? And are there any physical based builds that don’t require the constant summoning and destroying of clones and phantasms?

Thanks for Abaddon content Anet! [Spoilers]

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Zaoda.1653

Ok so I know I said I wouldn’t be posting anymore on the forums because I felt like we weren’t being listened to (from my previous thread on lack of male skimpy armour), but after seeing all this Abaddon goodness come to GW2, it made me seriously take this back.

When I saw the Abaddon weapon skin set make its appearance in the gemstore, despite initially not liking or understanding the 2 ticket price tag per skin, I thought, well, to be fair, it is justified because remember the days when all skins cost between 80-120g initially? The only difference is that it costs 2 tickets, instead of 1. It’s pretty much the same price as they were ages ago anyway.

When I also took into consideration the amazing attention to detail these skins have, I thought, you know what? The ticket price is justified.

As you can tell I’m a huge Abaddon fanboy and the tormented realms from GW1, so naturally, when I saw these weapon skins, I just had to have them all. I spent all my money and sold everything in my bank to afford them all, and I have to say this is the first black lion weapon skin set I have wanted the entire set of. The closest set I ever got to obtaining all skins was the chaos skin set, of which I don’t even have half of them unlocked.

So to me, it’s a real compliment to Chelsea, who worked on these Abaddon skins. I even came across her by chance, the other day at the Royal Terrace in Divinity’s Reach, and said how much I loved the skins. She was delighted that they were well received, and I asked her what the most difficult Abaddon weapon skin was, to design – she said it was the hammer, and that she had to make it twice, scrapped it, and completely started over.

With the addition of the Abaddon themed glider today, and… (spoiler)

with the upcoming headgear making its way in game. See link below for image on the skin – thanks to that_shaman for finding it!

I’m so glad that Anet have added all these Abaddon themed things, and I hope in the future we get to see some god themed armor skins too perhaps? That would be really awesome.

Anyway, keep up the awesome work, and thanks again for making such an awesome, detailed weapon skin set, Chelsea – you’re a legend!!!

I’ll include pics of the conversation, with names hidden (except for my character, because y’all already know my account name – plus you’ll see why I’m such a fan of Abaddon, with my character’s name – lol)

Oh, and just one more thing – PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make underwater weapon skins for all the black lion weapon sets sometime (when you guys have time) after the expansion. I know underwater content isn’t a priority and everything, but it would be really cool to one day be able to complete our skin sets with trident, spear and harpoon gun skins.

Zaoda.1653

I figured I might as well do one last photoshop of my warrior with some skimpy armor (real life cloth/leather taken from google images – from roman style costumes etc.), before I stop posting on these forums for good.

I’m choosing to no longer post because I feel like, despite the many amazing suggestions and ideas posted in here, very rarely, is anything ever done with them. I will never understand why this is, because if you look at games like Runescape, despite its flaws, at least they have frequent player power/polls asking what people want in the game – and then they follow up on it by implementing said ideas/art in game.

What happened to the days like in Guild Wars 1, when players would send in weapon designs, and we’d actually get to see some of them in game? (Bone Dragon Staff, for example). Why can’t Anet do this for weapons and armour designs for future content?

I could go on and on, but I feel there really is no point. So I’ll just leave this photoshopped picture of skimpy armor here and hope that one day, we get more male skimpy armor skins.

Auto Loot Dosen't work on death...

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Zaoda.1653

Zaoda.1653

Doesn’t matter Anet doesn’t update anything in wvw anyways good suggestions or otherwise so who cares. Not to mention I have no idea why wvwers would object to an update to auto loot that would result in getting more loot. Especially when all wvwers complained about for years was no loot/rewards…. but whatever lol.

This is one of those suggestions, where if Anet just changed it so you got loot no matter what every wvw would say, “we like this” or “good job Anet more loot” but because I’m suggesting it, it’s an absolutely horrible idea, for some reason which nobody can figure out.

I mean at best it’s more loot, at worst it’s irrelevant, but you know keep up the good fight.

People object because it encourages people to lay dead on the ground instead of releasing and running back to the fight.

right….. so loot auto going into your inventory = you are encouraged to stay dead? Im not seeing the connection. Seems completely unrelated to me.

I can’t recall ever playing a game where, when you died (essentially when you failed in some way), you still automatically were given every bit of the loot you would have acquired if you stayed alive, contributed to the fight, got ressed by a comrade, or used other mechanics (like WP) to rejoin the battle. Maybe I’m misunderstanding, but shouldn’t death have a death penalty of some sort? It’s modest enough, with the mechanics in place, but should it be zero?

Yes, I do believe that such functionality would discourage active play. “I’m dead. I’ll just lie here and gather all my goodies while I go order a pizza. Doesn’t cost me a thing to be inactive — I’ll still get 100% of the loot either way.” Does that even make sense? Or am I misunderstanding the suggestion?

Gaile, If you played as much WvW as I have, you would know how many times I’ve missed out on rare items (the ones that drop in the form of a chest), as a blob instantly comes in and k.o.‘s me and our team literally as the last bit of health from a champion is killed, and LITERALLY 1 second later after I’ve died, my loot bag/s (and occasionally) rare item chest drop by my corpse. How is this fair? I miss out on my loot because we get killed, and the boss just so happened to die literally 1 second later?

I support the original poster 100%.

You don’t seem to play much either if that is your tactic. You should have scouts posted and prepare to engage or duck out of the lord room, if an enemy zerg arrives. People who sit at lord when an enemy zerg ass jams them don’t deserve said loot.

I really like the Norn – however I hardly ever play them simply because they’re really huge and this makes you a target against enemies because players tend to love to take down the biggest thing they see.

Charr is a nice size – albeit a little widthy, height, more than anything, makes you a target. I’d go with Charr, human, sylvari, or asura personally. If you’re not worried about being a bigger target, then by all means go for Norn.

Invisible Shoes! What the?!

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Zaoda.1653

Zaoda.1653

The problem with the invisible shoes skin is that it is INSANELY rare. It took long enough to unlock the ability to make these mushrooms visible, but then to obtain the drop is like trying to get the chak egg sac drop from Chak – trust me, you most likely will NEVER get it.

I’ve personally given up on the invisible shoe skin. Just like the Chak Egg Sac, it’s another item no one will ever see the light of day.

It’s so stupid. Stupidly rare. Stupid drop rate. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Solution? Make treasure mushrooms reward a currency that you can turn in for an account bound invisible skin. Keep the tradeable invisible shoe skins in game (and lower the insane drop rate chance at the same time), for those who can’t be bothered hunting the mushrooms for an account bound version, so it’s still a nice profit if you happen to get the shoe drop. It’s a win-win for everyone.

At the same time, perhaps it would be a good idea for Anet to an add invisible chest, gloves, helm, shoulders, and legs skin to the treasure mushroom drop table, for a complete invisible set. These could also be obtained through the new currency the mushrooms provide from each kill, and likewise, tradeable versions that you can get from a lucky drop.

Great job on the newest dyes Anet!

I can understand the frustration of literally just unlocking the Celestial Dye, then having something nicer come out. Though, I guess if we knew what was coming into the gemstore in the future, we’d probably save our gems for those things and make way less purchases XD

I bought the Celestial Dye a long time ago and I thought that it was going to be the be-all-and-end-all of white dyes. After seeing Eternal Ice and Permafrost, it’s basically made Celestial obsolete (to me, anyway), as Eternal Ice, in my opinion, is just that little bit brighter, and that little bit nicer, while still maintaining enough detail in any armor/outfits you’re wearing.

Permafrost on the other hand, is SO white that it basically erases most of the detail on your armor/outfit – which, to me, is actually a good thing, because with some pieces of armor, particularly heavy armor, there can be some really ugly detail that I try to get rid of, but can’t – like the scallywag’s chestpiece – the straps have details I want to hide sometimes, especially when you just want it to be one, nice, solid colour – that’s where Permafrost comes in REALLY handy, as it eliminates all the unwanted detail. It also looks really nice on Mistward Warboots.

So I now have the Permafrost Dye unlocked, but I’m still going to go for the Eternal Ice dye because it’s between Celestial and Permafrost – bright and white enough, but still maintaining the detail in armor/outfits. I’ll use Permafrost on armor pieces where I want to eliminate the detail, to make it just a solid block of white. They’re both really good dyes, and serve different purposes. As for Celestial Dye though, it’s served its purpose, but now these new dyes will take its place.

I hope one day Anet comes out with a black dye that completely darkens the character and blocks out all detail – like the Permafrost Dye, only, black. I think that would be a must-have dye as well.

Just some feedback re: the newest dyes:

Love the Permafrost, Eternal Ice, and Core Ice Dyes in particular (and I think the frostbite blue dye would go well with luminescent armor). I didn’t know it was possible to have a whiter dye than Celestial, so when I woke up the other day to find an epic preview of these amazing new dyes on the gw2reddit, it kinda made my day because for a while now, some of my characters needed just that little bit more white, and now they can have it

I wonder now, if Shadow Abyss is truly the darkest shade of black now? Or will we ever see a dye that is SO black that it’s almost like the black poly luminescent undulating refractor? Where you literally become as dark as a shadow! I sure hope so!

Thoughts on these new dyes and possible darker shades of black in the future?

Wardrobe: Revealing Male Armor/Outfits

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Zaoda.1653

I have one male (Sylvari) light armor. He wears an outfit because I couldn’t find any armor that I liked on him.

I find myself in a similar situation. I’m starting to think to myself – if I still haven’t been able to finalize a look for a particular character of mine, after so many years, they’ll just have to be placed in an outfit until I can find something.

I’m finally happy with my guardian and ranger’s look, and soon, also my elementalist (with the warbringer backpiece and the balthazar outfit, and balthazar staff skin), but I still have a long way to go for my other characters, and ideally, I’d want more skimpy male armor (I even have it as my forum signature), but until then, my characters are just getting more outfits placed on them :-/

I also find myself thinking back to GW1 days about how awesome some of their armor and weapons were. Granted, sure, we could actually DYE our weapons at the same time, which helped in customizing our unique looks – something we don’t have access to in GW2 (which is still really weird if you ask me, because surely when you make a newer version of a game, you add onto what worked, not take away something that was AMAZING). I think to myself – why is it I like more of the GW1 armors than GW2?

Because they actually looked good. Most of the light armor I see in my wardrobe looks very similar, there’s hardly anything that’s skimpy – females have more skimpy armor, which is unfair and a bit anti-male if you ask me, with medium armor, all I see is trenchcoat, trenchcoat, trenchcoat. I’ve even named my engineer ‘I hate trench coats’.

Heavy armor is a little better, but I’d still like to see some epic armor – you know, stuff like tatty materials with spikes and chains, and glowy bits and stuff. I’ll include a picture below of an example. I’d also like to see a full set of ‘invisible’ armor skins (so we can hide our trenchcoats and/or show a bit of skin). Perhaps make them available through achievements or something, and make them account bound, so as to not affect the price/rarity of the invisible boots already in game (which, by the way, are pretty much near on impossible to obtain for the average person anyway, even WITH access to the treasure mushrooms).

I also found a picture from some other game – I assume… It could have just been some concept art or a random drawing someone did, I don’t know (it was on google images), that had a bit of skimpy chest going on, so I’ll include that picture too. He actually looks kind of mursaat’ish.

We need more skimpy!

Edit [24/6/2017]: I’m done suggesting things to Anet. There have been so many amazing ideas here, yet they are hardly EVER actually implemented. I feel like I’m in that same boat here, that I was with, in Runescape, where, despite all the suggestions and feedback, nothing was ever done about it.

Sure Anet listens SOMETIMES, like the chaos gloves – that’s great. What about all the other amazing ideas? You literally have years worth of content here, yet nothing is done about it. You don’t even need to hire some ideas guy – all the ideas are right here.

I’m done suggesting things Anet. I’m sorry, but I just don’t feel like you guys listen or take these suggestions seriously. It feels as though this thread is just to appease us, while ignoring all the ideas.

Good luck to those with ideas. I’m done. Goodbye forums, goodbye suggestions. I’m no longer going to waste my time here.

Suggestion: Dervish

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Zaoda.1653

Zaoda.1653

I’d love for the Dervish to come back. Obviously traits/skills and such would have to be planned well, to work with GW2.

I think for a specialization, channeling Varesh Ossa would be fitting. The specialization could be called ‘prophet’ (as she’s called a prophet) and it would deal with providing the player fury, increased attack speed, and scythe skills that pull players in towards you – like how the grawl in EOTM statuary creates a huge AOE that pulls everyone in with every pulse (every second), and it lasts 3 or 4 pulses. A trait could make this skill unblockable perhaps?

There’s so much potential for Dervish, as well as Ritualist, and Paragon, to make a comeback. Especially with shouts – Paragons and runes that effect shouts, could work, and Ritualists could deal with bundles and holding ashes, for epic effects – like that skill where you hold someone’s ashes and whenever you’re hit by something, you get healed. A trait could make it so that whenever you’re holding ashes/a bundle, you gain retaliation – so you not only get healed when hit, but you deal damage to enemies through retaliation.

There is so much potential, but I feel as though it’ll never happen, sadly we can dream though

[Suggestions] Gemstore Items

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Zaoda.1653

Zaoda.1653

A southsun faren outfit which comprises of only wearing those famous red undies that the mini sothsun faren wears (it would hide all the other slots like the helmet, chest, gloves, shoulders, and boots). A southsun kasmeer outfit would also be appropriate here, for the female characters – which would have exactly what the mini southsun kasmeer wears.

Gw1 weapon and armor skin packages/bundles

More skimpy male armor skins – particularly with the chest area, to show abs etc.

Invisible armor skins for all weight classes – we’d finally be able to hide our trenchcoats once and for all.

Varesh Ossa outfit – the wine coloured outfit with gold trim that she wears with that scythe, is amazing. It has this cool mantle that curves around her neck too. I honestly don’t know why this hasn’t been added already to be honest – it would sell like hotcakes in my opinion. It was smart of anet to put the chaos gloves skin in the gemstore – so why not more gw1 stuff like this? We are very nostalgic players and there were some amazing skins from gw1.

Voltaic Spear skins (the animated version). I would love to have the option of buying a white dyed version, as well as a black dyed version (see gw1 white voltaic spear, and gw1 black voltaic spear in google, for references). I know we already have aliraska, but it just isn’t the same. The spear isn’t one solid colour – you can see wooden bits and it just doesn’t look right – and there’s no pulsating/current animation. I believe this would look amazing with the mistforged wvw armor and its animated armor effects.

Dhuum outfit – look like a truly menacing necromaner with an outfit that features a dyeable dhuumfire glow, tatty cloth-like material, spikes, and chains.

Additions to total makeover kits – tattoos and markings for ALL classes. Think, Shadowhunters, think runes, symbols, and amazing markings that really bring your character to life and make them stand out among the rest. If Anet wanted to make an even better version, have tattoos/runes/markings that glow – and can be dyed.

Addition to black lion chests – permanent total makeover kit. These would be in high demand and a very rare drop. Most likely pricier than 2 or even 3 legendary weapons.

Capes – gw2 really needs capes. These could work as backpiece skins. I was playing Runescape the other day, and I was wearing a Rainbow Cape and couldn’t help but think, man, if only guild wars 2 had capes… It would be even more of an awesome game, but then the reality of it most likely never happening kicked in, and I was instantly depressed, thinking about how it will most likely remain only a dream, and not a reality

Edit: just noticed the white dyed voltaic spear wasn’t very white on the entire spear. I forgot about that. Probably why I went with the black dyed voltaic spear in gw1 as it was all one color and didn’t have any see through/wooden looking bits on the handle area. So maybe just a black dyed voltaic spear with the pulsating animation would be best, if the white dyed version can’t be one solid color, like the black version.

The least gw2 should have is capes. It is all supposed to be about guilds, right? Well, what better way to distinguish yourself amongst other guilds, than a personalised guild cape? Anet could even do unique capes, like a rainbow cape (would work well with The Dreamer, or Bifrost, for example).

Sorry for all the pics, but I wanted Anet to really get a feel for how epic this would all be.

No Underwater Glint, Ventari & Dwarf stance?

in Revenant

Posted by: Zaoda.1653

Zaoda.1653

…if I recall correctly, to my knowledge, have access to their kits/elements/shatters etc.

It varies widely between professions.

Revenant is probably the worst with 60% of our utilities unavailable. For a very long time guardians had no elites they could use UW except for racials. I just read that necros still lose their elite pet every time they go UW.

Everyone gets screwed a little bit.

Engineers seem to get screwed the least though and many of their abilities are cleverly and simply transformed to function perfectly UW. Several kits even work almost identically UW as they do on the ground.

Why the same isn’t done for other professions is a mystery.

I forgot about necro minions being lost underwater. I don’t understand why Anet can’t make minions survive UW too, since rangers have pets that can go UW. Not all of them, but at least they aren’t lost UW.

commanders kicking Rangers and Thief

in WvW

Posted by: Zaoda.1653

Zaoda.1653

Learn who to support as a commander and who not to.

If they are arbitrarily kicking people out of squads, follow a commander that doesn’t.

Soon, the more inclusive commander will get the following, while the other guy will be scratching his head wondering why he’s alone.

Otherwise, get your own tag and tag up and create the environment you want on map.

You have choices. So does the commander on map. If you don’t like it, then create your own.

Agreed. If the commander is being rude or unreasonable, or makes really dumb decisions, leave them. They’re not worth your time, and the power is in your hands. I’ve blocked and refused to follow many commanders, for example, who used homophobic language, or demeaned other players to the point of verbal abuse. That’s not cool.

My Bifrost just turned ascended!?

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Posted by: Zaoda.1653

Zaoda.1653

I think I may know what happened. See, My ele just had the ascended version of the actual original destroyer scythe talon staff – but my thief had the bifrost, and being as I’m working towards getting the Warbringer legendary backpiece for my elementalist, I wanted him to also have the legendary staff so I could stat-swap at any point in time.

So I deposited my ascended destroyer staff from my ele into the bank. I went on my thief and equipped the ascended destroyer scythe talon and transmuted it into the Bo staff skin (because I wanted to go for a daredevil look for him), then I equipped my Bifrost on my thief, and transmuted it into the destroyer scythe skin. I then unequipped the what-should-have-been legendary bifrost-transmuted-to-destroyer-scythe-talon-skin, but I looked in my inventory and it was now an ascended destroyer staff, and it said ’zojja’s spire – transmuted’. It was not a zojja’s spire, it was my Bifrost, it was now ascended, not legendary, and it didn’t even have the stat swapping ability.

Maybe the game got confused as I was transmuting both my ascended ‘original’ destroyer scythe talon into the Bo staff, and transmuting my original legendary ‘bifrost’ staff into the destroyer scythe skin.

Thanks yes just sent in a ticket. I don’t know if I’m supposed to continue doing my dailies though or whether Anet will have to revert my character’s progress back by a day or however far they may have to go back to :-/ I don’t want to lose all the tickets and items I’ve gained through WvW – especially my gift of warfare and gift of conquering.

I want my bifrost back but don’t want to lose any of my other items/progress :-/ and now I’m afraid that, if they can get it back, the same thing will happen when I transmute it to the destroyer scythe skin.

I’m afraid to reskin any of my legendaries now. This sucks!

I was transmuting my Bifrost staff into the ‘destroyer scythe’ skin, and it turned into an ascended version – the stat swapping ability is now gone. It has lost it’s legendary rarity, and i’m now left with an ascended ’zojja’s’ staff with the destroyer scythe skin – WTF!?!?!?!?

Can someone from Anet please look into this? I’m freaking out right now. I’ve sent in ticket about this also.

Edit: False alarm! It was only on my mesmer all along. I would have sworn the staff I transmuted had a purple border though, which is why I thought it was my legendary bifrost staff, but it must have been another ascended staff that I transmuted. Thank god. Problem solved.

Best Damage Rune?

What is the best damage rune for a WvW staff ele? I know some say to use Scholar runes – the ones that give +10% damage when your health is over 90% (though, really, when is your health always over 90% in fights? Especially WvW), but what about infiltration runes – deal +12% damage when opponent’s health is below 50%? Or Berserker runes that give a permanent +5% damage?

I don’t really know what is best. Please help!
