Its a bug? Thanks for that… I also suspected, that someone may reported me and I got long penalty.

The reason I suspected that, I got an ascended item as a drop and I was so WOOOW about it, that I linked my drop in the map and many said " gratz, good, hurray"… but also many said " get out from the map, you took what you wanted…" etc.. so I suspected that it may had to do with it. All started after that.

Mesmer players defending opness is expected, but Mesmers need their active defenses toned down. Messing up a burst combo then going stealth to wait for CD’s is not skill nor is it fun to play against in wvw/spvp. Keyword being chance. Mounts are a great concept but unfortunately wouldn’t work with how Guild Wars 2 is designed. I think dueling is a great idea for this game. Holy trinity would be bad because it would make full zerker groups not viable meaning dungeons would last longer.

If you want level 80 drops just go to level 80 zones. Silverwaste gives loads of level 80 drops, though beware since even basic salvage kits sometimes give gossamer too.

Same with BL ticket scraps. I bought 12 keys and got 1 scrap and no full tickets while guildie gets 4 scraps AND a BL ticket from 5 BL chests. Which makes me question the increased drop rate of scraps that Anet implemented.

This is a wonderful gift ANet. Nothing like that lame crap WoW gives like “pets” and “murlocs” nonsense. This armor set looks better than anything I’ve seen in an MMO in a long time, and I would gladly pay money for this.

I’m confused. You don’t need to stay in the party to stay in the map. Taxi (to a map) is just that, a taxi. You are supposed to leave the party as soon as you enter the map. Why would you need another taxi, or party?

By joining a group for a taxi I got penalty and I couldnt join other groups for hours, for over an hour the join button was inactive and it said “recently you joined many groups, wait a moment before you can join again”. The game didnt allowed me to join groups for hours. not moments or minutes.

You can buy the original core game anywhere from 10-20 bucks which grants 5 character slots while on the other hand 5 character slots from the gem store will cost you 50 bucks.

Character slot sales also seem to be something of a rarity.

another annoying thing is the restriction on mailing to your other account. You get 2 emails, then you get a halt for a while unless you allow time in between those 2 emails. It makes transferring items and gold between the two exceptionally annoying.

Make personal guild with bank. Invite alt. Put thing in bank to share. No problem with mail then.

I know. I wish. But my chars on my alt account are at a jumping puzzle chest with no easy access to a guild bank. There isn’t one in PvP and not always one in WvW. I usually mail chest contents/mats out rather than have loading time twice and traveling time for each char as it’s much faster.

You can access Guild Bank from the guild npc in Citadels in your home BL. Talk to him and ask to see your bank. You can also swap tabs to access your normal bank slots, but it’s a bit awkward.

yeah hopefully this and crafting are also remain at new border lands but to push the permanent pass ( airship and the dr one) i guess they could remove it

It has been discussed several times : something is weird / wrong with RNG in this game.
In the long term, there should not be so much differences between accounts.

Whereas right now some players with 4000 hours play (like myself) had to grind a lot more than other players with really less hours play (or A.P.).

In the end, as stated by OP, some players have to grind way more than others, and in the long term it’s quite unfair (as it’s real life time in the end).

When farming, don’t look for the big money items. Look for something that is almost a guaranteed drop and maintain the amount you’re picking up (e.g. T6 materials, cores, lodestones, ectos). Go for something tangible and achievable.

This is the stuff that stacks up (money-wise) pretty fast

You mentioned black lion tickets as one of the good drops your friend got. Those only come from opening chests with keys, which leads to a (to my mind) obvious question: Has your friend been buying Black Lion Keys from the gem store? And if so how many has he bought and how does that compare to how many keys you buy/farm?

If your friend has spent $100 on keys and you never buy them and do 1 key run a week then it wouldn’t be at all surprising that he’s got more tickets than you. (And in that case would assume the other lucky drops also came from the chests.) It’s not that he’s got better luck, it’s simply that he’s had more tries than you.

This is the problem with discussing ‘luck’ and RNG in this game generally. Almost everyone looks at how much time they’ve spent playing (as total hours spent logged in and/or how long ago they got the game) and which drops stand out as exceptionally good in their memory.

There’s a huge amount of information missing from that. To take a hypothetical extreme if one person bought the game at launch, logged in, and never played but stayed logged in until today they’d have over 26,000 hours on their account and absolutely no drops at all. But that would have nothing at all to do with how ‘lucky’ they are(nt) or whether there is some sinister code flagging their account to get bad drops and everything to do with what they did in game, which would be nothing.

Obviously that’s an absurd extreme but exactly the same considerations are true for real play time. A person who got to level 80 as fast as they could and then spent most of their time farming world bosses, champ trains and silverwastes is likely to have far better drops than someone who took their time levelling up and then spends a lot of time afk or chatting in town, helping low level friends in starter maps, levelling alts etc. etc. and again that would have absolutely nothing to do with one person being ‘luckier’ than another – it’s simply that one has far more chances to encounter good drops as a result of how they choose to play.

If you think about it. RNG is just an internal coding for the mechanic being used (i.e. Mystic Forge). If a new patch comes out, and breaks something, it could cause the RNG “coding” to possibly repeat itself, thus allowing for god-like luck.

It’d be great to get in on that before it gets patched out again and maybe recycling the goods in case they delete anything made during the patch.

However, I haven’t seen that and I’m fairly sure they test patches to ensure luck stays abysmal.

But be careful with being “hooked”.

For example: GW2 runs ok-good most of the time for me at an average of 30-45fps depending on the situation. However, I can’t seem to hit 20fps in HoT. I don’t mind having to dial back the graphics a bit but I think it’d be a bother having to do so for the rest of the game where it runs great.

Well for the normal persons who read this: It is a simple principal that works the same in every game. You block someone. Usually you do that cause for some reason you don’t want anything to do with that person, including spending time to PM/spam him or her… So normally in most games blocking means no contact in every possible way. It is very normal if it works like that and indead very strange and shamefull it didn’t work like that in the first place. But I can understand most kids like this childish feature as it is now.

Um, the 15% TP fee is the most significant gold sink in just about any MMO. Waypoint costs are likely dwarfed by that.

Waypoints probably still have a fee for two reasons:

• Minor penalty for dying, in addition to having to run back.
• To ‘gate’ new players from teleporting everywhere instead of running, which would mean missing a lot of what GW2 offers.
• To discourage veterans from waypointing for everything.

I don’t know if the current fees do a good job of any of the above. I do know I would use them much more often if they were free, even though I can afford bypassing them.

People have suggested an alternative: make it free to teleport into any city, since that already can be done for free (not counting suffering additional loading screens). Go to the mists (wvw, pvp lobby, or eotm) -> use the asura gate to get to LA -> use the hub gate to get to any other city. This, too, probably won’t happen, for the same reasons.
