in EU, they are dedicated no matter how many times the get destroyed their morale is high, they have guilds who run raids almost everyday, less egos, more drunks on ts ( someone was so drunk he was singing wrecking ball on TS ), they show up with numbers always. GVG they are more into it than NA, using siege in open field is not honorable to some, rangers are a nono, use a rally bot/uplevel you get flamed in 12 different languages, they barely res down players, roaming is less, they got Kid inkk on a daily basis.

in NA, not all servers are dedicated to wvw. morale is low on some servers, raids are not consistent, more egos, less drunks on ts, use what ever you want on open fields, GVG is like monthly period, rarely happens, use whatever char you want and talk smack still, rangers to zerk glass, no man gets left behind they res you no matter what, roaming wise NA has more and skills they tbag you and try to party you to talk crap NA got kid inkk only for seasons.

Scintillating play on EB earlier today JQ. I thoroughly enjoyed it, although we got 2v1’ed, Valley inner was breached a couple of times and JQ zerg wiped BG zerg over and over again to the point mapchat had a lot of complaints about people not following the commander, not being on TS, uplevels, and even how we were playing with pugs vs. 2-3 guilds. A few days ago it was complaints about how bad JQ were and how difficult one must try to die against JQ zerg! At least nobody complained about there not being a queue on EB, since there was one.

I want to play against that JQ zerg more often. Any ideas where / when the players in that zerg will most likely be around?

I was really enjoying killing the soloers trying to take Rogues back and then burning the supply in the camp when the zerg finally showed

I will assume that you are not trolling.

The game used a mix of objectives and kills to ‘cap a zone’. The formula was adjusted over a period of months. 99% of players never complained about zone caps or how it was done. I was on an ozzie server and EVERYBODY played the same meta, the solo cappers, small mans, guilds (including DiE, TRF, TKG, etc) and zergs. Every type of player was involved in the meta the developers set.

Even when one side was outnumbered, a small group of 5-10mans could prevent a zone cap, it brought some level of fairplay for outnumbered faction.

Btw the reason why the other game failed was due to buggy end game (worst sin), not the capture/ppt mechanics.

nope not trolling, just asking what you think would be the basis for such gameplay and what would keep people from playing it. i understand your point but also when we say WVW it means zerg, what your saying is also still possible today with 8-10man can defend a tower or keep even prevent a zerg, TW is known for one of the best defenders i have ever come across.

Tougher fights?

I have been on Kaineng when it was tier 8 in order to finish my map completion for my legendary. During the rest of that week that I was on that server my eyes were definitely given a whole new perspective on things.

Lower tier servers can’t even compare to top tier servers in terms of strategy, cooperation, willingness to fight, and just overall obedience.

Sorry, join a server like BG or JQ for a couple weeks than join the last place server. You’ll see how nonchalent the players in lower tiers are.

I think one of the reasons for this is that we just don’t have the manpower. From what I can gather top tier servers have scores of dedicated players, while lower tier ones have much fewer players in them, and so have much less strategic potential.

And I completely understand that.

I am not trying to belittle your server in any way. In fact, I made a lot of friends pretty quick in the short time I was on there. Smaller classrooms = stronger relationships.

Its just the misperceptions like the OP have in terms of coverage > skill is a flat out lie.

Take TC for example, they have little to ZERO overnight coverage, but yet they are tied for 3rd place. Why? Their NA coverage is honestly one of the best, if not the best.

Don’t blame lack of coverage.

yes i do believe we should not blame the coverage, it is with the population, also you should put into account militia morale, commander etc. if you have high morale and good commander no matter what happens people will show up next hour or day for wvw, and when we say coverage that also doesnt translate to ppt right away as there will be opposing force, its all on the commander and militia.

TC has good NA coverage but not the best, also they have the numbers they seem to be lacking good commanders.

actually it was a good fight, those EG guys were really good esp that pistol dagger guy with purplexity runes, and they have a couple of PD and some random guys as well. it continued up to spawn point in OS. its a free for all there.

Jade Quarry has no moral footing to stand on. They had the easiest draw, they spent 20,000 gold buying guilds before the season, and they still failed.

Jade Quarry has the coverage to match Blackgate. In the easy matchups, their maps were queued throughout the day, but they chose not to show up when it mattered.

Perhaps next season, Jade Quarry’s gold would be better spent on buying some server pride….

JQ did not have to do anything to keep ATM because ATM was never leaving in the first place.

JQ did not buy MERC, we had approached them at one point in an attempt to get more than 30 people on between 12pm cst and 5 am cst and nothing came of it. Weeks later, things were rekindled and while some gold was given to help get them over, MERC paid for themselves to transfer.

I’m going to pop in a sec here to throw back to a week prior to the season … Mags pushed to get into gold. That was a hard push too btw, much like TC trying now.

That was not only admirable, that was an impressive week. If anything, coming to gold league has benefited mags with there new friends/new guilds that have decided to join forces during the season. Even if it’s not much… it still has benefited them. As it has with SoS.

So whether the season is a tank/crapshot who cares… in the end I think your servers respectively gained from it.

In fact, I’d go as far as to say SoS and Mag’s are lining themselves up for the new map. That is all.

How does the Mag peeps feel about all the FA talking about how they tanked scores to get into Silver? I’m probably reading to far into it but it sounds like if FA didn’t tank the scores Mag would still be in silver.

The fact that FA tanked their scores is moot, outside of showing what type of gamers they are. Mag fought hard to get to gold league and that really shows what type of players they are. Server strength is based on population and Mag overcame that shortcoming by playing hard.

I have also noticed that pyro as well as a few other guilds are doing what they can to show that they can play the t1 meta with heavy frontline(real heavy) and some solid backliners supplemented by kitten glass. Thanks for coming out and fighting hard.

Aon is a troll guild but I like that they kite away the pugs not on ts. I have heard a bunch of drivers say “oh, its AoN, they wont fight, they just run and pick off the pugs” I like this little service you do us :P

well to be fair, you have about 30 guys running the hammer train vs 8-10. so the point of sayng we wont fight is kinda … come at us with 10 and see if we fight or not

so basically you want T1 BG to zerg who runs team/guild builds per player and minumum of 30 to fight a 10 guys whos built for 1v1s, youll find some who will endulge in that kind of game but not all.

last night in SOS BL, there Ark, VR, iLL and some guys from maguuma trying to roam but was out gunned by BG roamers and we decided to hang out in front of their spawn, so we got a good fight club going in front of their spawn, i think we were 5 at that time then they became 10, after 15mins what they decided was had 2 guys near to each us 5 and started to kill us while watching. oh well. there goes we love to duel eh.

actually the two BT guys started to attack everyone and it just turned into a brawl eventually leading to BG running back into their tower

yeah the BT norn war and the other one, and the iLL ele started the brawl, was having a good time watching that ark mes do her work.

i guess roaming on Maguuma hard these days, i tried to challenge an EP charr thief to duel, started signaling him to duel instead he went to invi and started to attack while i was jumping signaling him. oh well, nice duel huh.

I think more people are upset and bring up ZD’s transfer over MERC or any other guild is because of the timing. MERC transfer happened a week before league? ZD’s transfer happened a week after league while BG was losing to SOR. YES BG was making a comeback on their own accord, but you can’t blame people for suspecting the worse when it happened at that time. Not only that but from what I read here is BG doesn’t even need ZD’s help. ZD’s is a final nail on everyone else’s coffin. ZD’s is the reason it’s a blowout and why other servers “give up”. BG’s core is the main reason for the success in this league.

Zds is a great guild, we’re happy they choose BG and I hope they appreciate BG as much as we appreciate them. You guys rock.
Servers “give up” bc they didnt try hard enough. JQ could still get 1st this week if they wanted to. SoR give up to early, we will never know but I did expected crazy fights everyday against them. Its a pitty things turn out this way.
This is not a blow out, BG just want to win more then SoR or JQ. This week proves what Im saying, JQ got more then 5k lead, and we pushed hard to catch. They could still push back, but for some reason they give it up. Its your fault your server dont stay competitive, not BG’s and for sure not ZDs. Wake up please.

+1, when league started all servers did recruit and did everything they could to win, its just that we wanted it more, we are losing 17k ppt to SOR and we say kitten it we will not lose with out giving our 101%. i think all T1 servers are almost equal the only difference is that the shift in morale.
