Hi guys,
Im interested in what characters (npc’s and players) you’ve come across you bet would get one hit if they were in a real battle. I stumbled across this guy right here, and even though he was talking big, I bet he’d die in a single blow
You are a white and blue guardian.
Retired elementalist theorycrafter
I should make a “Let’s yell” about this issue. I like my style.
Retired elementalist theorycrafter
Not ONLY. You can also get them in WvW and atm also from the Tri-chest at the top of the Tower in Kessex.
And no, the weapons are not NEEDED to progress, they make it easier sure, but they are in no way needed.
Right nothing is needed, not even team mates. Can we get this argument out of the way? Dragonite ore is bad.
Retired elementalist theorycrafter
One bug I forgot to mention earier:
- In the Molten boss fractal you randomly get hit by the airborne shockwaves even if you didn’t jump on them. I’ve had this happen to me a few times resulting in my death and I am 100% I didn’t jump or dodge into the wave or use a movement skill or anything like that.
Make an asura. It’s the master race for a reason.

Leaked Memo from Anet management:
" Regarding players’ recent awesome and right-on criticism that we are rendered speechless with no comeback whatsoever, in light of the upcoming holiday, let us continue pretend we are not around"
Spot on.
“let’s continue posting in the Krait thread because we think it is waaay cuter than replying to legitimate concerns. Oh also who cares about PvE? haha, be merry!”

The real issue with Agony is not the damage or the Agony Resistance; it’s the path towards acquiring the AR. In most MMOs, if there is a gear requirement for progression, the way you obtain said gear requirement is to climb the lower rungs of the progression path until you are geared enough. In Fractals of the Mists, the path towards this gear leads you out of Fractals of the Mists. (Dailies, Crafting, Guild Missions, etc.) Worse yet, it can be fast-tracked by buying the agony infusions with gold. How is this progression when someone can just throw money at something and obtain the skeleton key to “endgame”?
What a joke.
That would of course have held merit before the Fractured update.
Now however you can technically get more than enough AR from simply doing Fractals, due to the Infused Rings AR-slots.
True but once you have them you “get” more AR by champion farming.
Retired elementalist theorycrafter
Dragonite ore is an ascended material you get only from doing world-PvE content. However it is required to craft ascended items such as the weapons which are needed to progress in instanced-PvE content (fractals). This forces dungeoneers to play in an area of the game they dislike. This is a breach to the play-the-way-you-want phylosophy, therefore its necessity is bad.
What are your thoughts on dragonite ore? If you think requiring it is bad then please express your dissatisfaction as loud as possible.

I do buy gems. But I agree: it is likely that this kind of players buy less gems than the typical casual PvEers/WvWers.
Still, now we have even less incentives to buy gems.
Retired elementalist theorycrafter
Solo dps tests are actually quite valuable. It is not ground breaking but meaningful.
D/F works This is hardly a surprise to me because I do the maths. I think Keys can even shave off some time for this kill by tweaking the rotation a bit.
Retired elementalist theorycrafter
I takes some practice and planning to get rid of extra points in arcane but doing this opens many new desirable horizons.
Retired elementalist theorycrafter
I agree. In my opinion it is staple for PvE.
Retired elementalist theorycrafter
Let’s face it: no one actually encounters scripted agony and tell themselves “wow that’s cool I am so glad they implemented this!”
It’s bad.
Retired elementalist theorycrafter
40-49 was very easy
70+ was a bit hard, but honestly that is how real PvE should be.
Retired elementalist theorycrafter
Weapon neutral?
Try my 30/30/0/0/10 build: it works with daggers, staff, scepter, LH, FGS anything! But it requires a high skill level to work properly. The Dec 10 patch will even further buff my build and make it even more compatible with staff and conjures
Retired elementalist theorycrafter
It is good, otherwise it would completely remove the point of having AR and remove one the the biggest reasons why Ascended Gear only have a very slight stat increase from Exotic.
AR is a perfect way to have progression, while not effecting the balance of the game itself. Removing the only thing where AR is required would remove the point of progressing it.
You are taking the problem upside down
Retired elementalist theorycrafter
Am I the only one that considers the engineer one to be really funny? Though I admit it will mostly shine in a wvw or pvp environment.
It looks complicated, it will most likely be bugged.
Retired elementalist theorycrafter
Other than maw im pretty sure you can dodge most agony attacks?
All end bosses have scripted agony and every ten fractal you get an instability that periodically inflict scripted agony (fotm 40 & 50).
Retired elementalist theorycrafter
I refer to scripted agony as the agony attacks that are generated by the dungeon script rather than by mob attacks. Scripted agony is unavoidable. Therefore scripted agony is bad.
What are your thoughts on scripted agony? If you share my opinion that it is bad please express it as loud as you can.

And anyway crafting a full set of ascended armor will cost a lot of money.
Retired elementalist theorycrafter
Is anyone still playing D/D full water full arcane for real?
Retired elementalist theorycrafter
If they didn’t intend that then they would have hard capped the levels (like they did now).
We should haven’t to suffer because the developers are incompetent/lost.
Ouch be careful! I got my posts infracted because I said Anet released content with bugs.
Like … they are trying to hide it you know, well, like if it could be hidden!Good point. I fixed it.
Right, but now you deserve a ban for saying something that is utterly wrong
There’s not way out of this for you!
Retired elementalist theorycrafter
It never worked since pre-release although we have been as vocal as possible about it.

Hard to say on Warrior. If it really converts all damage then you can easily heal a lot during some bosses. If it is based on getting hit then it’s really pointless.
Likely it won’t “convert” damage but rather give a small heal for each hit received. The question is whether it will negate the damage from hit received: if yes it is yet an other OP skill for warriors in PvE.
As for the elem skill, if it has a 25s cd like datamined, it will fit very nicely into my D/F optimal rotation.
Not very OP if you have to give up your healing skill for it. Against bosses you are able to eat like one attack. So you sacrifice your healing skill for one extra “dodge” every 35 seconds.
It is more than one dodge: 3 seconds actually equals 4 dodges!
From the numbers I see in the gw2db the healing per hit seems quite substantial. Most of the enemies and bosses have at least 2 seconds between their attacks. And quite often that number is 3+ seconds.
If you are willing to spend 4 dodges on one attack, then yes, that healing skill is worth of it.
Well for Lupi’s projectile shower it will be awesome
Retired elementalist theorycrafter
:/ chest isn’t in game? devs lied?
well kitten isn’t that great
It’s not like it is the first time isn’kitten

Good summary for huge much we are dissatisfied.
Retired elementalist theorycrafter
Agony is only subject to agony resistance alone.
And Anet’s will to make us farm instead of rewarding us for our skills.
Such skill putting 30 into earth~
I bet you my ascended dagger that it won’t work.
Retired elementalist theorycrafter
Yo Anet, sup.
Surely you have noticed how unhappy your customers are with the last patch “Fractured” you released.
Do you plan on giving us feedback on it?
There are thousands of posts telling about how your customers dislike that patch. The reasons for this have been stated constructively and clearly.
The player-base is wondering what kind of measures you are going to take to prevent this lack of quality in the future.
We can bear one bad patch, but I am afraid we can not bear the idea of your studio being okay with releasing such content.
The question is: do you care about your customers being dissatisfied or not?
Retired elementalist theorycrafter
The truth is we don’t care about titles. We were having lots of fun playing in fotm 80 and Anet took that fun away from us.
Retired elementalist theorycrafter
What if I normally buy rares from the tp to farm ectos or luck?
Retired elementalist theorycrafter
Off hand sword
GS whirlwind attack
Banners, FGJ.
And soon they will get a heal designed to absorb attacks.
It is a well known fact that – projectile defense aside – warriors are the best in PvE.
Retired elementalist theorycrafter
The truth is that warriors have the highest armor, hp and close to the best personal defensive abilities (more dodges and blocks).
no
You are right, shame on me I forgot to mention two things: best group buffing and near best damage.
Retired elementalist theorycrafter
The truth is that warriors have the highest armor, hp and close to the best personal defensive abilities (more dodges and blocks).
Retired elementalist theorycrafter
That is why I said that in the end it all comes down to your playstyle
For the record I am not a fan of S/D though !
Retired elementalist theorycrafter
I use a pure fire staff build for every dungeon, including arah many times a day and ive never had a problem
It is not about having problems, it is about performing better.
You could use the earth shield and have no problems, yet you would be performing poorly.
Retired elementalist theorycrafter
Oh yes yes the clever and educated people at Anet saw this thing: high level PvEers generally buy less gems so there is no need to catter to this player group. Oh yeah very clever indeed. So clever that now we will buy even less gems.
Retired elementalist theorycrafter
I think you just need to play at a higher level of performance to understand how lacking staff is.
I am saying this objectively, not trying to be offensive.
I leveled up with staff exclusively, I played through almost all content with this weapon, but then I tried to perform better and that is when I switched to daggers.
I still occasionally use the staff in some specific situations. I could explain in details why I think it is weak but such reasoning would only apply to my playstyle since in the end it all comes down to this.
However I can tell you one thing: if you want to achieve more in this game with the elementalist you will have to switch to a playstyle that is not best fitted by the staff.
Retired elementalist theorycrafter
I fully agree with Keys’ view on speed-dps testing.
By the way, Keys, I am really fine with the idea of you explaining your setup here in this thread.
Retired elementalist theorycrafter
Really LTDodge
No offence but I can solo fracals lvl 10 with my elementalist having 10k hp !
Retired elementalist theorycrafter
Do you know any viable warrior builds that don’t use their burst skills? Do you know any good guardian build not using virtues? Do you know any good mesmer build without shatters?
If you do not want to use the mechanic of this class you should play an other class.
Retired elementalist theorycrafter
Oh god don’t ask them for new skills: they can’t balance the few we already have!
Retired elementalist theorycrafter
Because they are immobilised.
Retired elementalist theorycrafter
They reset fractals, dungeon paths, pvp ranks, gaming philosophy, then hell yeah why not world completion!
Retired elementalist theorycrafter
They should remove this aqua breather thing altogether.
Oh wait actually they should remove underwater combat.
Or combat.
Retired elementalist theorycrafter
Hey guys!
Take a look at the page for the Dec 10 patch:
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/releases/december-10-2013/#events
It’s funny how the used the word “lingering” with “poison”
Hey maybe this lingering thing won’t be broken! Room for hope!
Retired elementalist theorycrafter
I have never been so afraid before.
Retired elementalist theorycrafter
Sorry Zel, I’m the only one allowed to have a topic on this.
Jokes. <3 they just can’t wait for Fractured to be an archived sub forum!
But we won’t forget.
