Nice way to get this thread – which is not about the Fractured living story update but more about the way Anet deals with its customers – out of the way of the broad public in the general discussion subforum.

Nope.
There are plenty of ways you can go to higher fractals without using a single exploit.
If Anet did not want us to go there they would have hard-capped the levels to 50 like it is now. They did not do this. They consciously allowed us to bypass their soft-cap with ease.

Of course buffs have varying magnitudes of effectiveness depending on the builds! Any dps test should take them into account. I also think warrior buffs should be included.

I didn’t get your message so I am going to explain in my own words what the attunement recharge rate is and you can tell me if we agree

The attunement recharge rate (expressed as a percentage) is how much more often will you attunement be recharged over any given period of time.

Pre-patch, with 30 in arcana you have a 60% recharge rate, so you have a 10s recharge time, while the base recharge time is 16s (0% recharge rate).
So for a given period of time, let’s say one minute, your attunement will be recharged:
- 0 in arcana → 60 / 16 = 3.75 times
- 30 in arcana → 60 / 10 = 6 times
How much more often will you attunement be recharged over this period of time with 30 in arcana? 6 / 3.75 = 1.6 that is 60% more.
So with 30 in arcana your attunement will be recharged 60% more often over any given period of time. This is the attunement recharge rate.

Of course this is just a virtual attribute: it does not mean that you will be able to swap to this attunement 60% more, due to other limitations such as the attunement swap cooldown.

Recharge rate = how many times the skill recharge in a period of time (for example one minute)

The formula for attunement recharge time is:

base recharge time / ( 1 + attunement recharge rate) = attunement recharge time

Before the patch the base time was 16s and the recharge rate per point was 2%, after the patch we will have a base time of 13s and a recharge rate per point of 1%.

If you are running a staff then you shouldn’t normally be within 600 range of the target.
As a staff you should be far away from most of the devastation meaning you won’t be taking much damage and your health would usually be over 90%.

This makes Vital Striking the obvious choice.

Wait I need to farm hundreds of fotm 10 before! I am so glad this game rewards me for my farming skills!
I think I am just going to speed up the process by buying thousands of AR at the TP then I will level up by doing only fotm 40/50, instabilities are too difficult.

At range you can avoid pretty much all arrows without dodging just by side stepping.

If the only point is get enough gear then just prevent entering unless your party has enough AR. And then remove Agony because it is really pointless at 1% ticks.

Fractals are more casual than ever because the difficulty from non-agony mobs has been reduced and farming agony to reach absurd levels is now possible – even via the TP.

Worse: you can also by-pass all instabilities! Yes: just ask/pay someone to open x0 levels for you and buy agony at the TP, tadam!

Only farming low levels is what you need to get to reach higher levels, and this is completely S … I mean my over intelligent asuran brain cannot compute the – undoubtedly clever – logic behind this choice.
I am going to get more asuras, maybe together we can work this out!

VI, VII and XII for the fire traits should be slightly better though (5% less damage for -20% CD).

It’s the basic high DPS staff build. You hit hard but you also die fast.

Heresy !! -20% cd is much better than 5% increased damage!

Fire staff has been constantly buffed since release and is now has one of the best dps potential of the game. Still, this weapon is a weak choice for PvE in my opinion.

Everybody agrees that the kill is impressive! The lvl48 kill was also impressive. There is no need to say one is more impressive than the other. That’s the point: stop claiming skill superiority; anyway comparing these two very different videos will not lead to any conclusions.

Yes conjures are helpful in various and numerous situations. The axe is yet to reveal its strength though.
The only problem is that using a conjured weapon is a heresy to our class mechanics.
Anyway you should experiment with all of them and learn how they give us specialisation possibilities.

The relative power of conjures has indeed been diminished since ascended weapon were released.
How this will evolve is for Anet to decide and so far we have no information.

As for me I wouldn’t mind if they do not boost the conjures since I am not fond of the way this mechanic works.

S/D + LH is indeed best played with zerker scholar
How much more survivability you need is dependent on your team and your skill level.
You can find survivability in traits and gear. If you decide to switch pieces from zerker to soldier then you should do it in this descending order of priority: legs/head, chest, weapons, rest.

It is not:
- Arc lightning has 10 attacks in 4 seconds (2.5 attacks per second, plus Lightning strike)
- Stone shards has 3 attacks in 2 seconds (1.5 attack per second)
