Guardian only behind ele, thief, rev, and engineer.

It is ahead of mesmer, necro, warrior, and ranger.

Stop crying. Your hammer rotation is braindead and nets you 29k DPS, way ahead of power ranger’s 18k DPS or mesmer’s 13k DPS.

That’s not remotely burst. BB’s a godkitten long channel with obvious telegraph in a a meta full of reflects.

I consider burst windows to be no longer than 3 seconds and to be from skills that are hard to respond to.

BB’s channel finishes in the time it takes to complete a dodge roll. Same with smoke assualt.

Where do you people pull this bullcrap from?

You are confusing cast time with channel time. What I said is true, you can completely dodge both of those skills.

These are channeled damage abilities! They don’t do the entirety of their damage until the channel is complete.

A single dodge won’t take up even half of the time this channel goes through.

Guys read the texts:

nerfed

Axe AA

Have yet to decide if I agree on this one…

Don’t take too long. Basically you are missing the return hit if there were 2 targets and that 40% extra will not make for it. Also you will get less might stacks when there are 2 targets or more.

Basically: when there is one target you will it 40% dmg. As soon as there are 2 you’ll be nerfed one full hit (40%40% <> 100%) and more importantly you will miss that extra might stack you benefit not only in power but in condi damage (axe 2 and axe 3)

Yeah I know. It’s basically a buff vs a single target, and a nerf in all other situations.

I wish they would have gone this route instead:

33%->33%->33%
to
60%->20%->20%

It didn’t need a nerf, period lol.

In fact, a 40% buff is worthless with how little damage ricochet does to begin with.

These devs are clueless about DPS balance.

All they balance for is their obnoxious MLG esports wannabe spvp format. PvE and WvW large scale fights be kitten ed.

The changes are basically marginal for everybody but Guardian.

Core mesmer got tons of buffs:

  • Arcane Thievery
  • Mantra of Distraction
  • Mantra of Resolve
  • The Prestige
  • Signet of Midnight
  • Mirror Blade bounce
  • Phantasmal Defender

You can’t say that everyone got marginal changes.

Ours is whack. Who uses Moa? and Pigs? Those changes alone could be 10 different changes to our class.

GG.

Spirits = Trash
Shortbow = Trash
Traps = Trash
Core Pets = Trash (Still can’t hit targets)
Core Traits = Most are Trash

Who in hell uses any of those mesmer skills in raids or large scale WvW anyways? Those mesmer “buffs” are trash.

Nobody uses those phantasm utilities because illusions die as soon as they spawn in WvW.

In WvW you are forced to run blink+portal+veil, no space for mantras or useless phantasm utilities. In raids, you run 2 wells and signet of inspiration.

As I said, no one received any changes worth a kitten .

This list of changes buffs Mesmer in every conceivable game type. How on earth are you disappointed?

Buffed in ways nobody wanted or needed. More quickness where permaquickness was already a thing.

Buffed some phantasm utilities that nobody will use in raids or WvW (illusions still die before they even get to do anything) anyways.

The only generally good thing to come out of it was mirror blade reversal.

Like, staff was total garbage outside its defensive applications, and they nerfed the defensive skills while not even bothering to buff the autoattack damage or its pitiful 150 health spheres at the end of the auto chain. Staff 2 still costs a metric ton of energy, almost the full cost of a Phase Traversal.

Didn’t even bother actually improving Ventari or Mallyx let alone mainhand Mace either.

Was the damage of blurred frenzy increased to compensate for the longer cast time, or is it back to being a dps loss over just autoattacking?

Probably not. Remember when they changed the ranger mainhand sword autoattack? Thety actually decreased DPS on it because they didn’t adjust the damage values for the new animations/aftercasts.

Defender now apparently pulses protection which is somewhat interesting.

But other than that it just sounds like they’re tweaking a few minor numbers in a “look, we did something” kind of way. An entire second or two worth of quickness! And that 0.5s on blurred frenzy (which is affected by quickness btw) is really going to save you in a clutch! Doubt shatter spam is gone either.

Nothing substantial or impactful for now.

It’s worth noting that .5s quickness on Tides of Time ends up kitten out, .5 in 3 times in a full PvE quickness rotation for a total of 3 additional seconds of quickness, doubled by boon duration to 6 seconds, shared to your teammates several times. This small .5s boost ends up boosting total shared duration by 6 seconds.

Let’s be honest here, more quickness is not something we needed. Especially when the true benefit is as usual for a raid group and the returns won’t be as noticeable in other formats.

If you get to a choke point with your melee train, that’s what shadowstep and bandit’s defense are for. You can even use shortbow 5 to port past the lines of warding as your guardians/revs push through and switch to staff when you collide with the enemy zerg.

Trait spite + reaper blighter’s boon, and it’s 200hp every attack, and around 600 every second once it’s hp goes below 50%. If you don’t play like Gohan and learn to doooooodge! then by the time your life force plums down to 0 you’ll have some regular health to work with.

And in normal mode necro is a life stealing machine – dagger #2, signet of the locust, or the mini signet of vampirism from trait..

You’re probably not very good at mesmer if you’re getting beat by druid, as druids are weak to condi spam and mesmer got that in spades.

So basically, get yourself some trailblazer gear, runes of perplexity for the confusion, a staff, scepter and pistol, trait Prismatic understanding and get decoy and mass invis, blink, and mantra of distraction.

The ranger will die to conditions, or he will have to run away, and your stealth will make the ranger’s pet kitten and interrupt their burst skill.

Don’t be bad and run power mesmer. Power mesmer is trash, especially power shatter.

Gross. Why would anyone encourage people to play a kittenty plex condi mesmer….

A good power mesmer is much scarier than a boring kitten condi mes. Condi mesmer is like condi thief, they arent particularly dangerous unless you over commit, they are just annoying as hell to fight.

Because this druid build is also gross and basically a bunker build with stealth resets. This druid build also only beats players who over commit, as druid does jackkitten for damage and the pets won’t hit anyone who’s moving so the druid needs to kite you around the pet for the pet to land hits at all.

Power mesmer is trash. It is weak to thieves, it is weak to warriors, it is weak to scrappers, it is weak to about any condi build.

The duelist/roaming build for a mesmer is condi, sorry you are so bitter about losing to them.

Please note this video was only made because the community I attend too kept asking the same questions. I understand somebody who mains and has been playing REV might not enjoy this video so much. Once the patch drops I will make a new video that will be more advanced and more helpful to people who want to take it a little further. It’s always been necessary. Death shroud isn’t anything special, its a weak damage sponge that does less damage than being out of shroud, and when you come out of shroud most people have wasted their heals already and you won’t get healed back up.

Their design is pathetically negligent. I mean, death shroud completely undermines what druids bring to healing, or tempest water fields and heal shouts.

Necromancers are among the easiest classes to focus down and blow up.

Anyone tried a decent frontline DD build?

in Thief

Posted by: Zenith.7301

Zenith.7301

D/D is tough. The front line aspect is Death Blossom which doesn’t work that well – short evade and moving through targets (putting you out of position) coupled with primarily condi damage doesn’t work that well. Dancing Dagger spam is better done from mid-line/back-line but why when you have SB. Not all weapons are created equal – Staff (Dust Strike is insane) and Shortbow if you want to frontline.

@ Azukas – he is (or his friend) is correct. The key to Thief and really any bunker build is healing (self and group generated). But that’s why Venoms/Venomshare is so good. Stealth isn’t bad either if you want to escape/rez on occasion. Sustain healing is the key but Signet of Malice is not nearly as useful as an evade/remove condi/short cooldown heal Withdraw.

IMO, poison condition is highly underrated in WvW zergs but even with the condi cleanse, it still is good with all the constant heals going on and makes it extremely good even with zero condition damage builds. SB has it all (attacks that can’t be reflected/Poison, mobility/blind, AoE bounce for tagging, on demand secondary evades, Blast Finisher, ranged immobilize – if it had 1200 range on Autoattack, it would be king).

The #1 thief issue in WvW zerg is lack of stability. The only alternative besides running with Guardian is lots of stun breaks and evade/position away from front line (or running a perma-stealth build). It’s not easy.

DD, not D/D. I meant DD= daredevil.

The signet procs on all damage. So what he would do is throw down the caltrops in the middle of a zerg while dropping cluster bombs. He would easily tag 20 people and getting healed 20×132 every second is quite substantial when you are also blasting water fields. Now add in 15% of all crit damage as health and 102 heal for every point of initiative you spend…..

You pair that with perma stability protection might etc and Frontline thief isnt a myth anymore.

Caltrops is capped at 5 targets per hit so 5×132 per second (per your example) IF no one evades/distorts and there are 5 targets in the 240 radius.

Withdraw also triggers the DD evade traits. Beyond movement condition clear and evade frames, it’s also a low cooldown and insta cast. IMO, no choice except for certain solo roaming builds and even then.

Perma stab/protection ??? from your team … honestly, any class would do in that case.

I would never take withdraw in a frontline. It places you out of position when the whole point of a frontline is to truck through the enemy team into their backline, I don’t want to isolate myself behind my melee train to be blown up to bits.

PS: a Nomads thief will still outdamage a soldier/knights guardian or revenant running the meta staff/hammer build.

That is not up for debate. Thief base numbers and benchmarked DPS from autoattack alone is like 7-8k DPS ahead of what guards/revenants are pulling.

So you don’t offer support but you offer significantly more damage. And thief staff auto has a built in reflect to boot, which is immensely helpful in a frontline build.

I don’t think people have played other classes if they think anything other than elementalist can rival thief damage output.

Signet of Malice is also pure trash because in a frontline you’re not dying to sustained damage, you die to massive spike while being pinballed to death or rooted for 193672916392 years.

And by the way, I’ve played marauder ele with pvt trinket and cavalier weapons in zergs, and ele is squishier than thief with the same low health pool and even lower armor.

No, ele doesn’t have more tools to survive than a thief in a frontline. Perma prot already comes from guardians and revenants so cantrips do nothing, and arcane shield only blocks 3 hits so its trash amidst the sea of multihits, it won’t even last a second with weak guardian staff autos taking it off.

Are we going to get damage buffs for LS3?

in Mesmer

Zenith.7301

I don’t even get why we have this crappy hybrid of boons and conditions on staff. The staff auto boons are utterly unnecessary, and the power base numbers of the auto is the lowest in the game, with one of the slowest projectiles in game.

Removing boon bounces on allies would significantly help our cleave condition capacity. Balance the conditions on the attack without bounce on allies.

If you removed the vulnerability from the condition pool, that would also be immense for its DPS ramp up. Or they could just make it apply vulnerability AND another condition.

Chaos Armor needs to have the prot baseline back again. Chaos Storm needs to actually hurt with conditions instead of being a field you use to fish for aegis and to land interrupts.

And in the topic of damage modifiers, Wastrel’s Punishment needs to be scrapped and make it something proper like a % damage increase on targets activating skills for 10% damage and on inactive targets 5%.

We also need all our grandmasters on all our traitlines to not be utter trash. It’s bad enough that Illusion 15% extra damage adept is far bigger a boost than any grandmaster we have in the vanilla traitlines.

It kills me they made Power Block completely useless in PvE and it’s just a crappier version of thief’s headshot+pulmonary impact play, not to mention distracting daggers. Thief, engineer, and warrior are far better classes at lockdown than mesmer is, and that is wrong.

Resistance doesn’t wreck balance nearly as much as being pinballed around to your death by the rows of lines of warding and warding circles on top of the 193692615392165349826534823 centuries long immobilize duration from epidemic bombs. Kinda hard to cast resistance in a frontline when you’re getting tossed around unless you have 3 guardians in your party feeding you stability.

Revs are mediocre in raids, being replaced already by commander chronos, and in spvp berzerkers completely overshadow revenants after the nerfs.

Hell, my mouth as a necro waters when I see a rev (who’s weak to condi), compared to a godkitten warrior with 1936293629367 thousand years worth of immunities, stuns, and the massive burst and healing.

Warrior has always stomped any build of ele because eles have garbage stun breaks on long cd’s and low base health which means warriors with stuns as low cd as 10-15 seconds can land 8-10k 100b and 7-9k eviscerates on the ele pretty often.

With healing signet and OP adrenal health plus two endure pain procs for 12 effective seconds of invulnerability it means the fight is pretty lopsided in the warrior’s favor.

In general berzerker warriors are stupidly OP roamers at the moment.

Bear in mind that when you mention that druid utility, such as protection and SnR, you are talking about even lower DPS variants than the already low one with marksmanship.

Both druid and mesmer are outright garbage DPS classes and both need DPS buffs.

If you actually look at the common denominator, all the weak DPS classes are pet classes.

Necromancers are only strong for boon corrupt and epidemic aoe, otherwise their single target is among the lowest of the condi specs in the game and they’d get replace by engineer/condi warrior.

Power necro is miserably bad, much like power mesmer and ranger.

Rework Revenant Sword

in Revenant

Posted by: Zenith.7301

Zenith.7301

Too bad cause sword behaves like it want to be multiple target weapon. I mean just look at this sword.. its full of aoe

So when you were challenging my statement that sword wasn’t situational by pointing out that it’s the only weapon that punishes you in 1 vs X situations … you were lying to me?

I mean, I can’t follow you. You tell me sword punishes you in 1 vs X situations, but then turn around and point out sword is full of AoE attacks, which are clearly intended for 1 vs X situations and that you prefer it over staff because of it’s AA damage, even though staff is intended for 1 vs X situations. You don’t see how contradictory those two statements are?

At this point, the only conclusion I can come to is that you’re willing to make any negative statements, even if they contradict themselves, just out of desperation that Anet sees them and ‘fixes’ everything. Not a sound plan.

Sword aa is getting stronger with more enemies in front of you. PS/UA is trying to act like aoe but works in opposite direction by punishing you in 1vX. Yeah how that makes any sense? Am i contradictory myself? No, sword desing does that already on it own.

Again, you were the one that called out sword as situational because it’s not a good 1 vs. X weapon, not me. I really can’t follow your discussion. Feels like you are arguing with yourself at this point. You haven’t provided any convincing evidence to make me think I was off track here.

Like talking to a kid. No matter what devs have to say in this matter, sword right now act as aoe weapon but unlike other weapons (any in this game) it loses damage to single target the moment you press 2 or 3 drastically lowering your dps. Meanwhile your autos deals more damage to a group of enemies. Sword desing contradicting itself in current state. Its needs reclafication to either keep it as current aoe weapon and fix it damage on 2&3 to not cause damage loss on a X target or rework it into pure 1v1 weapon. Im done with you btw so bai, i bet you coming from NA and you guys arent know for being.. smart. Pointless to continue discussion at this point.

lol, really, needing to comment about an entire region? What was smart exactly all the world wars you Europeans started, or the pogroms or the countless ethnic genocides, or the fact your union is falling apart with more prospective departures or several of your states threatening default? Your stubborn affections for kings and queens in modern day democracies.

NA is the dumb one? I’d venture to say Canada and US are doing pretty well by comparison.

Revenant sword needs to change!

in Revenant

Zenith.7301

The problem was shifting the damage away from autoattacks into sword 2. That was a mistake.

Sword 2 was always meant to be a snare, and they forced it to be our main nuke.

Then they nerfed UA into irrelevance by gutting its range so the time you were mid animation most targets with swiftness could walk out of its activation.

Add to that all the massive nerfs to shiro, especially the hamfisted Phase Traversal nerfs that make it so once you use PT you can only autoattack your target for several seconds, and you can only really regen energy decently unless you legend swap.

Then there’s staff which was utterly nerfed, they didn’t even bother buffing its miserable autoattack or the pitiful 150 HP healing orbs at the end of the autoattack chain.

Staff 2 in total costs 20 godkitten energy to use, that’s insane. That’s almost a utiulity level cost for an attack that as a condition requires you hit a foe that’s activating a skill. The ability already has a conditional to trigger and on top of that they add 3 times the energy cost of the initial chain to the follow up on a class that unlike thief was not given any resource management in traits.

Another problem is outside Glint and Shiro, the otehr legends don’t have viable stunbreaks. Because all our mobility is pigeonholed into shiro, and the energy costs and lack of baseline defensives mean we can’t run sword/axe to close distances and UA no longer has the range it used to, it means the rev MUST run shiro.

So a rev can’t even run Mallyx without losing significantly in another department, and Mallyx is utterly useless outside its ability to generate resistance as the other skills do nothing of worth. No viable stunbreak on mallyx.

Ventari is the biggest offender, with no good stunbreak, like Mallyx with massive energy costs on utility, and to top it off the only legend that’s utterly useless without healing power as its heal is the worst in the rev kitten nal and taking Ventari means taking a huge hit in survival for only projectile deflection.

My big wish would be that illusions don’t despawn until we’re out of combat, that illusion generation is shaved from traits and put into the weapons themselves, and that phantasms are just illusionary summons that do bigger spike of damage but despawn after doing the attack so you don’t have 3 up.

In turn, phantasm skill cooldowns could be reduced to the cooldowns of 100 blades (6.5-8 seconds) as our big hitter skills. They probably would need a cast time reduction though, it’s pretty much impossible to hit a thief with a 1 sec cast time on top of the illusion’s animation anyways.

We would scale much better as our autoattack and ability damage like Blurred Frenzy (which needs to go up to at least the damage of a pistol shot, which thieves can spam 3 times and theirs stuns) could go up.

Increase our sustained pressure and scaling damage so we’re not just some mindwrack one hit wonder that’s either doing that big burst or failing to land it and being useless for another 10 seconds.

Hell, I’d remove the 3 clones, cap illusions to two and scale our shatters accordingly.

Cry of Frustration needs a rework, and Diversion needs to go back to being aoe baseline and 1 second stackable per clone (and diversion needs to apply the daze immediately, not wait for the clones to walk to a target as that is the most unreliable interrupt in the game).

It really kills me to see we were supposed to be the CC/interrupt/denial class and instead a head shot spamming thief with pulmonary impact is a far better iteration of gw1 mesmer than gw2 mesmer will ever be.

Even warriors/engineers have more lockdown/interrupt potential.

Necros and mesmers should have more degen capacities. Endurance steal/degen (and not weakness, which theieves can pretty much cleanse with their kittened OP traits by spamming evades), damage decreases and ways to frustrate and deny the enemy.

Are we going to get damage buffs for LS3?

The Exalted Trial took me 4 tries alone because I couldn’t kill the dragon minons fast enough. In full zerker gear.

Try doing the timed LS2 achievement in the Durmand Priory library as a mesmer. It’s hell.

Nothing, as usual. Tooltip polish, a few useless marginal tweaks to marginal traits nobody uses nor will use (much like the previous pitiful “buffs” to axe).

I never expect meaningful balance or overhauls of traits/utilities until the next xpac, especially not from this company.

I just think that steady focus should trigger on consumed endurance instead of full endurance, like the thief trait. We spend a far greater amount of time with endurance not filled up than when it is filled up.

Similarly, if Predator’s Onslaught is going to stay as is, then greatsword (having to waste your block to cripple something is kinda silly) and other weapons that aren’t mainhand sword need better access to high cripple/chill/immob uptimes without gimmicks.

The moment of opportunity on our signets could also use the thief signet treatment, which instead of this big bonus that usually gets consumed by an autoattack or the pet’s autoattack, it buffs the next 3 ability casts.

Or they can keep the damage bonus on the ability, make it two stacks, and only consumed by special attacks which we could categorize as abilities that are not the autoattack. Especially useful to the pets so it applies to their damaging abilities instead of some gimpy autoattack.

Holy kitten i just want breakstun with stab don’t fill me in with your nonsensical rants tyvm i know what other classes can do, but you don’t even think what happens when your suggestion get adopted, how many QQ thieves, mes, necs, ele would come to this forum. we’ll direct them to you when that happens.

Ignorant. I’m done with you.

We’d actually get on par with other classes when it comes to personal performance. That would happen. Of course other classes want us to stay bad. No one wants to lose to a class that has been considered one of the most awful ones for almost 4 years.
If we become at least as powerful as other meta classes, I can get over all the cries and tears of baddies and newbs. That’s a price we all can pay.

Now that we all know that you just want rangers to suck, shall we call it a day and ask you to ignore this thread so other possible ideas how to improve ranger are shared?

In the name of the ranger community, thank you.

You don’t get it too? I would welcome buffs but in a more spread out and synergistic way than dumping everything into one single utility skill. Is that so hard to comprehend? The first page listed many great ideas already then I suggested a breakstun + stab on lower cooldown then came this guy with this kittened idea that no we suck we need everything concentrated into one utility skill so we can leave all the dumb traits untouched. So smart.

Terminally dumb, I see. There’s nothing synergistic about a damage buff on a 25% run speed passive signet. Nor a second stun break on another signet because you’re apparently to lazy to look up the fact that we already have a stunbreak signet, it’s called Signet of Renewal.

You want your breakstun with stab. I don’t want my damage on mobility signets that are never used in PvE.

I think I was mistaken by calling you clueless; you’re just horribly obtuse.

Stats for WvW blobbing

If you main frontline and you’re facing 50+ man blobs the way we face Blackgate in Tarnished Coast, running berzerkers will see you killed in no time.

You need a minimum of 3k armor and 24k HP to not be pinballed to death in between the permanent immobilize epidemic bombs with the ele bombs and melee trains smashing your face in.

You only got 2 dodges, no blocks whatsoever, no invulnerability or sself resistance application. There’s only so much play you can do when a zerg of 50 people are pummeling you as you push with your melee train.

That’s why most necros play mid/backline. You have neither the mobility nor hard defenses/evasion to not be pinned to death.

Marauder/Valkyrie+cavalier trinks is a bare minimum for a dedicated frontliner.

]No. They aren’t. They are needed only to populate content that would be underpopulated otherwise – so, one that is generally disliked.

Yes, the rewards need to be good (as the dungeons nerf clearly shown), but they don’t need to be exclusive. In fact, making people play the content just for those rewards is often seen as a bad choice. Just ask most of the sPvP veterans what they think about “PvE scrubs” that were playing ranked just to get the backpack.

Or maybe ask worldbosses before the loot buff. If you make things available in more paths, people choose the easier road everything and the other path dies. This applies for all content. Add the map specific rewards in HoT to all HoT maps and all maps except Auric Basin die.

They might, but why wait?

Why do you need to have everything the second it comes available? That’s the charm of GW2, all content stays relevant the whole time, why nerf something for crying people when time does the same?

This is the argument of idiots.

WoW raids have been cleared, including mythic raids, with gear from the previous tier and little/no gear from the tier of the current raid.

Gear is not the driver for raiding in WoW. Raiding is the driver for raiding, because the challenge of the encounters is fun.

And don’t pretend for a second that GW2 raids are more complex than Mythic or WoW or Wildstar raids.

Yes LFR is driven by gear progression, the difficulty is a joke. Reduce the itemlevel to heroic dungeons and many won’t play it anymore and the rest plays it once.

WoW raids aren’t complex. They are overloaded with mechanics because addons trivialize most of them. Adding more mechanics is the only way to make them hard.
Reduce time for CC at Matthias, increase damage from all sources and remove the ability to revive downed people and you have a mystic raid boss.

Um, not really. Because LFR already drops gear that is worse than mythic dungeons and normal Highmaul, and people still do LFR. You know, for those legendary materials or because they’re bored or because they’re tanks/healers and want the bonus bags for chances at rare mounts.

If you say WoW mythics are so trivialized by add ons please feel free to link us your character logs rankings and mythic kills achievements.

Because these “trivialized” raids still take far longer to clear than the 1-3 days it takes to clear a single wing in this game.

You yourself kinda just admitted to that when you suggested changes to Matthias to make him “mythic”.

P.S. This game already has add on’s. They’re just not officially supported, but that doesn’t mean they don’t exist.

The raids in this game don’t need nerfs or easy modes. Their difficulty is pretty average and that’s fine.

Yep. Auto-attacks being so strong is what needs looked at nearly across the board.

If autoattacks are not strong, then cd abilities need to be stronger to compensate for DPS.

Which will not be done because then PvP crybabies would shout to the heavens as their 20-24k small health pools relative to PvE get bursted down by skills doing 14-15k damage.

The bane of this game is that balance is not split, so ability damage is balanced around PvP with health pools that are 23k HP at best, so even abilities that are truly garbage like necro axe 2 seem OP because they did 12k damage even though necro mainhand axe is a terrible weapon and axe 2 is terrible DPS for its channel time.

10 sec/30 sec= 0.33…

0.3… x25 = 8.3 % damage boost overall.

Basically, the signet is an inferior version of the damage modifier a thief gets from a minor trait that gives them 10% increased damage when a target has conditions.

Best damage modifier a ranger has is a 25% from marksman, assuming no endurance is ever spent and cripple/chill is permanent on a target.

Thief has 10% on a target with ANY condition (far easier to maintain….), 20% against targets under 50% health, 17% increased crit damage from traits (27% against targets above 50% health), 10% additional damage from bounding dodger (given their rate of endurance regen with staff mastery bounding dodger buff has near 100% uptime), 7% increased damage at melee range, another 10% from staff mastery.

So daredevil, with way higher number coefficients and base values than ranger, has:

-47% increased damage modifier vs. the 33.% ranger would have with my suggested Signet of the Wild, which also costs us a far more valuable utility slot vs. a trait slot.

-17-27% crit damage bonus modifier.

But somehow I’m the guy who’s insane just because you’re clueless about the damage and coefficients/modifiers other classes have access to.

This is why rangers are in the garbage state of DPS we’re in, because of people like you.

So, all the while we were talking about changes for utility skills and you decided to derail into damage modifiers in traits. Right.. Totally off topic now.

And get your facts right though I have always lament the fact that we do not have enough personal dps, but Anet gave us party buffs and so we aren’t allowed to have high personal dps, or else it would be too op. Get it?

You would be better off keeping things separate and suggest a buff to traits than to lump everything together into a single utility skill.

You complained about damage on a utility skill, I’m telling you the damage from that utility skill you are suggesting is too high amounts to 8.3% damage, lower than a minor trait let alone a 7.5% damage buff for an entire group from frost spirit (8.3% damage boost on a single target would make for a pretty bad utility if stability was not on it).

So, yeah, you’re pretty clueless.

And, no. Phalanx Strength Warriors outperform power druid by like…7k DPS and Phalanx Strength Warriors bring the greatest offensive buffs in the game with banners, Empower Allies and 25 stacks of might.

So spare me this bullcrap about not doing DPS because of group buffs, because revenants bring massive group buffing and do 30k DPS, or in essence 12k more DPS than power druid. Guardian hammer is 29k DPS, and that’s perma prot and healing.

Hell, if they nerfed Phalanx Warrior might stacking, elementalists would simply be running Heatsync on warhorn and still doing 34k+ DPS, on top of their stupid OP heal shout.

That’s backwards. It’s signet of the hunt which should break stuns and grant superspeed.

Signet of the Wild needs passive switched away from that useless 70-80 hp heal into the same power stat boost thieves/necro/warrior get. Make the active a 1/4 sec cast and reduce cd to 30 seconds, increase duration to 10 seconds.

25% extra dmg 5 stacks of stabs on 10 sec duration with a 30 sec cd base. Are you insane?

10 sec/30 sec= 0.33…
