Mesmer downed and thief downed and ele downed are the only downed states that can stop stability/stealth stomp.

Mesmer downed 2 does not block a stealth stomp – it requires a target.

In a team fight you can target any other player. And you can still prevent a stealth stomp by starting to mash 2 when you are expecting to go down.

Guardian and thief are best for this.

Thief with acrobatics clears both weakness and cripple on dodge, so that’s all her condi applications cleared when you dodge on thief. As thief with feline grace you get 3 base dodges, vigor for even more dodging on a 15 sec cd heal that also dodges. And if it weren’t enough you can bring smoke powder to pick up light orbs safely. You got shadow step and speed signet.

Go condi rabid or settler spec on thief with pistol/dagger and shortbow, makes the whole encounter cake.

And to top it all off when you dodge on thief you drop caltrops, which bleeds and snares the boss.

This encounter is such a joke when you compare thief/warrior/guardian versus a class like the ranger or necromancer.

Not really. Hammer+axe/mace warrior will outpressure any condi build and most stabilities are long enough cooldown that the warrior will just axe auto your face off.

I think the specs that do best against warrior are s/d thief or a shortbow+d/p thief as you can pretty much control the warrior’s output. With points in acrobatics a thief can easily handle a warrior.

mace+ shield+gs warrior can just easily disengage when stability is popped and come back when it is on cooldown and finish you off.

Specs without heavy peels/cc/burst or evades will not beat warrior. You can’t out-attrition a good cc warrior. Their damage is too high to be tanked. You have to counterburst them or cc the crap out of them.

Mesmer won’t win against a good thief because it’s a burst spec and thieves’ stealth/evasion is extremely strong against any burst build.

Prismatic understanding or phantasm mesmer is probably a much better match up but nobody uses those in spvp.

You got stealth without autoattack, which is a lot better than the garbage necromancers and rangers and engineers have.

And the problem with the mesmer really is their poor sustained damage. If they can’t land the shatter or phantasm spike, they do no damage and the current meta builds have more gap closers or do ranged damage that the mesmer just can’t keep up with.

Too much of the mesmer’s damage is tied to his illusions. The shatters also suck without investment (need heavy trait support) and Cry of Frustration is outright bad, while Diversion’s daze doesn’t take amount of clones into account while some warrior can stun someone for 3 seconds on a low cd your mesmer gets huge cd’s on a 1 sec daze and a 25 sec cd buggy aoe knockback.

Clones outside staff and sword just do nothing. Nobody will take scepter because it doesn’t have clones on demand, you have to go through this delayed autochain that also does no damage whatsoever, and then you’ve got a skill with huge windup for 5 stacks of confusion while the engineer does it in one single hit with toolkit and can upkeep high stacks of confusion than the mesmer can in addition to all the other conditions the engineer gets plus his survivability.

Scepter has really bad autoattacks on all its attunements, making for poor sustained damage and only good mid-high cooldown burst.

Ele has bad autoattacks on most of his weapons outside lightning whip, period. It’s why his only viable sustained dps spec in pve is lightning hammer and not any of his mainhand weapons.

sPvP’ers are raining buckets of tears over conditions, so expect condis to stay the same as mostly everything that’s bad in PvE because it’s strong in spvp.

Condi doesn’t benefit from vulnerability or % damage boosts. Mobs don’t have much in terms of armor to make condis shine over power specs. Mobs rarely have high protetion uptime or require that the group disengage constantly (where condis shine because they continue to do damage regardless).

Because most attacks from mobs are one shots or take out over half your health regardless of toughness, you need to focus on dodging and killing as fast as possible before you go down.

If the game had more sources of pulsing damage and conditions and ways to mitigate people just sitting on top of a mob with aegis or a reflection wall, you’d see the meta change.

You know, less kittened lethal shot mechanics and more attrition built in so support and condi specs become more desirable.

Well, whenever this argument about ‘which class is the best’ comes about, it just becomes nonsensical to the point where everyone starts stating which class is the best/worst using arguments which are based either on questionable methods or skewed to put whatever class in whatever light they wish to.

Then the devs read this mess and ‘tries’ (if they do) to interpret what the heck is going on and end up screwing class balancing even more.

The devs know a hell of a lot more about class DPS and balancing than we do. For the longest time people cried about rangers being bad and the devs did nothing, because they knew rangers were actually good and that players were just being a bunch of crybabies.

We just need to wait for someone to figure out how to play necromancers well.

Rangers are great.

In comes Liadri and suddenly the great ranger design is illuminated for all of us to see.

I can see it everytime I go into WvW too.

Not really. And a Hammer+ axe/mace warrior will just cleave the spirits down in a few seconds anyway.

You don’t seem to realize how strong the sustained and burst of a warrior can be if he can stay in melee, which he can due to signet of rage with lyssa runes for cleanses, cleansing ire, and 4 stuns under 25 sec cd’s.

If you happen to have wasted dodges on any of his stuns he’ll just use eviscerate and take out 1/2-1/3 of your health and just autoattack you with axe to death.

BTW, if the warrior wants to be cute in the match up he can run zerker’s, fear me, and signet of stamina. You’ll barely have any condi uptime on him as he’s wearing you down in between CC’s and raw sustained.

Zerker stance is just kinda OP at the moment and lets the warrior hardcounter most condi specs because 8 seconds of immunity+cleansing ire+signet of rage+ lyssa runes allows him a lot of time ignoring condi pressure.

On the other hand a phantasm mesmer or an s/d thief counters him pretty handily. You have to outburst him.

Offensive Guardian

I use the scepter to immobilize. the spirit hammer to knockdown and knock back plus the pull you can use from the Greatsword. No one gets away…..

More cripple and snare would be nice though.

Condi cleanse, stability (and how many guardians in pvp can actually run spirit hammer in teamfights, not just 1v1?), and the greatsword pull is among the most telegraphed of guardian skills so it’s easily dodged.

guardian is meant to be played as a defensive profession. I have seen some guardians do fairly well offensive though, this is how you do it.
1. Do your spinning sword slash move.
2. When they get out of range pull them back to you.
3. Immobilize them.
4. Do your spinning sword slash move again.
5. Keep doing your spinning sword slash move until they die.

But asking for guardians to be more offensive viable is like asking for thieves to be bunker viable. Thieves are the worst kind of bunker in GW2, do you think they need to be more viable to be bunker specced?

Most baffling crap I’ve ever read. Of course there should be thief bunkering builds. You know, how rangers can have bunker builds but can also build offensive trapper.

Engineer can build glass cannon condi hgh or go bunker as well.

This is not unique.

Last time I checked, Whirling Wrath has a 10 sec cd, and is a channeled interruptible skill that needs melee range to pull off. If they get away, and don’t brainfart and dodge as soon as you try to do bindingly blade projectiles, you won’t catch them.

And even if you managed to pull them back, a 10 sec cd on whirling wrath won’t allow you to spin again for a good bit.

Use scepter-torch/scepter-shield instead of GS.
Or bring retreat if you want swiftness.
And don’t use Zealots Defense as a DPS skill.

Guardian, just like entire GW2, doesn’t need any more dartboard buffs.

Chains of light is a 20 sec cd. You also happen to give up a retal symbol and much of your burst aoe from greatsword just to trade for a 20 sec cd root and projectiles people can outrun.

This is like telling a warrior that if we removed the cripples/several charges from their greatsword or axe, that they should take the longbow for skill 5 root just so they can have slight uptime on a target. It’s absurd to present a single long cd root as a solution for melee uptime against classes with perma swiftness, a whole of evades, and several snares to apply to you.

There is a reason why there are no offensive guardian specs in tpvp teams, so leave the bias because bunker guard happens to be annoyingly strong out of this conversation.

Offensive Guardian

People tend to complain about how hard it’s to land attacks as a warrior, yet having played both warrior and guardian the guardian is so much worse off. As a warrior I have several tools to sit a target in place to eat my spikes. I have access to cripples, ample acces to swiftness, and a good set of stuns.

I cannot say the same for my guardian, and I think we need some quality of life improvements to see anything more than bunker.

More damage is not really the solution. Guardians do very good damage, the problem is landing it on a moving target.

The offensive guardian may have a port and a leap if playing s/f+gs, but that’s simply not enough when the opponent can open the gap so easily and consistently. This is in part because of a few things holding back the offensive guardian:

- Lack of snares
-Lack of swiftness to keep up with opponents who can easily have either a signet or high swiftness uptime.
- Lack of synergistic CC on his weaponset for his burst abilities.

Let’s face it, Zealot’s Defense is so laughably easy to avoid. Does it really need to root the guardian, a class with low uptime to begin with?

I propose some tweaks:

- Flashing Blade could provide a cripple and swiftness when it hits.

- Greatsword leap or Whirling Wrath could apply a snare.

- Bane Signet’s cast time should be reduced to 1/4-1/2 sec cast, reduce the cd a bit.

- The chill on crit trait should apply to all weapons, and be a 3 sec chill on a 10 sec ICD. Move Glacial Heart to the Virtues adept traitline and switch it with retaliatory subconscious (that belongs more in a defensive line anyways).

- Searing Flames, if it will stay on a 30 sec cd, should strip 3 boons instead of 1. Otherwise lower the icd to 5 seconds and one boon removed per burning application. Removing a boon gives the guardian a application of fury.

- Condition removal on signet use should clear 2-3 conditions per signet use, not one. Maybe make it 2 conditions removed and a heal for removing the conditions or might procs for removing conditions.

- Judge’s Intervention could use a cripple as well.

- Merciful Intervention should be instant and grant a few secs (3 secs) of prot and aegis.

- Make one of the traits proc weakness when blind is applied.

Basically, give the guardian better tools to land his burst and sustain himself in a teamfight.

They were disqualified not banned. If they follow the eligibility rules next time, maybe then they could claim a prize.

It’s not baffling at all for ArenaNet to disqualify them and to enforce the rules.

Teams should be responsible enough to inspect their own members and make sure every single member is eligible to play in the tournament. What were the other 4 members of TP/TC thinking to take on the HUGE risk of having a possibly and now clearly ineligible teammate.

Other teams made decisive cuts and dropped underage or otherwise ineligible team members and TP/TC should have done the same.

What you are talking about is basically saying “replace Mogwow if he were ineligible with someone else”.

And it’s a meaningless reply because by the very nature of the long term involvement of these players in their respective teams, it’s not a simple case of replacement. Maintaining teams is as much about the chemistry and relationship between the team members as it is about bringing someone in with good performance.

Replacing Xeph WILL have a considerably negative impact on them considering for how long their team setup and dynamics have included him. It’ll take months for another player to ease into the same quality of dynamic.

Allow Conditions to Critical.

The big problem with the OP’s suggestion is that it is trying to get rid of everything that makes conditions worth using in the first place. Not to mention that conditions already necessitate precision for procs, and also necessitate toughness and vitality to survive long enough to take effect.

Not true, a condition player can still kite/use his conditions to keep people away from him. He does not need to melee to deal good damage.

What a lie lol.

You can’t kite a half decent thief/warrior. They have way more gap closers and cripples than you have gap openers.

mace/shield+greatsword warrior can just ride the necro 24/7 until the necro dies. It’s a total lockdown.

Spirit build - I am quite amazed

The build is easily killed by a good CC warrior. Land a skull crusher into a hundred blades half the ranger’s health is gone.

Otherwise go hammer+axe/mace and even if the ranger pops a stunbreaker the warrior can use berserker stance for 8 secs of condi immunity plus runes of lyssa signet of rage for condi defense until his cc cd is back up and your stunbreaker is still on cd.

I don’t get warriors who complain about spirit rangers. It’s one of the few power specs that can mow through the spirit ranger.

Spirit rangers do good against spike builds that can’t sustain damage because they can foil the spike and wait out a heal without pressure. The warrior, unlike a thief or mesmer actually does monstrous sustained even when he’s not spiking when he’s in melee with you.

You don’t really need sustain in this fight. The only reason why my health is dropping is because I need to generate adrenaline.

So I think the main tactic is:

1. Cripple the boss
2. Clump the enemy clones with the boss
3. Use fear me
4. Bull’s charge + frenzy + 100blades + whirling to a safe spot.
this should bring the boss down to 25% hp
Separate the boss from the clones and finish the job.
Sounds about right? – Requires extremely good timing….

I don’t think Fear Me! requires precise timing. If clones are away you probably don’t have to even use it. That said, I still have done this only few times.

5 successful attempts out of 20 from one of the best solo players in the game, good luck to any normal folks attempting this.

Hey, I also need some tries to understand what’s going on! And I played really aggressively to get a good looking video (I died so many times when an orb was right next to a clone).

it helps a lot. the only reason i die on my thief is due to lack of sustain and mitigation.

use shortbow 3 to mitigate her phase 1 without wasting your dodges. Run withdraw.

When phase 2 gets there it’s about using cnd+ stealth utilities to stop the visions momentarily.

I think pistolwhip spam might actually be a viable choice as you can just use the immunity frames to melee her freely.

Several times get her under 50% with conditions only to die horribly due to a fall.

What are you? Bunker engi? Lol.

I have tried this on Elementalist about 35x and on Necro several times as well.

Necro is a bad-bad idea. Lack of evades. Necro can only pray for luck with orbs, pulling him outta shadow fall and giving rally.
Elementalist is much better but he can’t be thin. Best tactics with Liandri – staying at one clear spot. 1 shadow fall – miss, 2 – evade. So you don’t need to rush in circles like crazy and don’t lose damage.

Necro is not that bad. Your damage with condi set is huge so you’ll kill her fast while kiting her. Use endurance regen food and use well of power so weakness and the other conditions she applies get turned into vigor and stuff. Use signet of the locust or spectral walk for movement speed.

You have consume conditions and condi transfer to easily keep yourself cleansed from her conditions and your condi damage cannot be body blocked as it’s not projectiles.

Stay around the center so you can easily get to the safe spaces.

Everything is much better than ranger.

I run ruby orbs in wvw scholar is useless in a teamfight and I don’t like lyssa since I run banners and banner is a long cd.

And no I don’t want to get t3 cultural twice to get two berserker sets with just different runes when the difference is not that huge.

I want my specific look for my character and I don’t have the gold to spare on two t3 sets after my legendaries. I won’t change looks for a marginal benefit of scholar over ruby orbs.

Guardian:

Backbone of WvW teamfights.
Mandatory bunker in spvp.
Prime utility/damage class in PvE.

I would only say if you like roaming that the ranger is better than the guardian because oh god guardian has no snares and so chasing is a losing battle. Everything can just kite you and disengage from you.

But at least you get swirling blue lights and fires! I loved bugging out my blue fire breath while running around.

It’s a 3k aoe, basically a cleave melee autoattack crit. I don’t think people would ever choose storm spirit if it didn’t have that active as wasting a utility slot for a swiftness proc would be pointless and nobody would grab that.

The storm spirit also means sacrificing a stunbreaker. A good warrior will land a skull crusher on you and pull off a 100b>whirlwind after you’ve used solar flare already.

Why don't you just erase pets from this game.

From the encounter design it’s obvious with all the lethal one shot aoe fields that I’m going to have to do everything on my ranger with the pet dead most of the time.

It’s not amusing when your class mechanic is punished by the encounter design so consistently.

We should also delete boon spam, illusions, kits, stealth, Death Shroud (or w/e), banners and elements.

Neither are broken to the degree of the pet mechanic. Fail at being cute.

The only comparable mechanic failure in pve is mesmer illusions and at least they can get one spike hit from the phantasm and then shatter them for a benefit so it isn’t entirely broken like the ranger.

Isn’t that the entire point of the phantasms to begin with? Spawn in, hit the target and die? All the mesmers i’ve talked to (even phantasm mesmers) have all said they have no problem getting any shatters or phantasms off on Liadri because the illusions don’t need to survive the AoE, they just have to be spawned and blown up between blasts…

Yup, which is why instead of killing her on my ranger, a painful effort, I went and killed her with my phantasm greatsword mesmer and my guardian, as both are much better suited.

I didn’t even bother trying on my warrior, we all know what a broken class it is in pve.

Traps are garbage. You are pretty much investing 30 points into a crit damage and precision tree and 3 utilities for a build that focuses on conditions, except it can be done so much better by a necro or engineer.

BM is not even viable anymore. How can you possibly say that when pet damage was pretty much gutted and the BM line of traits is outright horrendous. The only reason people invested in BM was to give pets stats and now that pets don’t even do the damage they used to there’s no use anymore.

Spirit build is the only build rangers have.

Go complain some where else, I made this post to get idea’s and how to nerf the Spirit ranger, not listen to you QQ about my kitten y ideas.

Did ANET think about Upscaled chars?

The main issue with catering it to upscaled characters would mean that it would suddenly be extremely easy to do on an actual lvl 80 character, which would defeat the whole purpose of the event.

Not if they balanced upscaling so that the stats are pretty close.

The issue is upscaling doesn’t work as advertised.

Make no mistake people.

What this guys shows here is more than just Warrior being strong. He has full control over his class and made not a single mistake. He knew exactly “what” she was doing and “when”. He is also the type of player that doesn’t take the easy way out looking at the way he dodges these AoE attacks while all he could do is just step aside.

His damage was insane, but still 1 mistake and he would have been dead just like any other person. anyways Good Job there and solid skills.

What other classes can burst Liadri down before her second phase even has a chance of properly activating? I’m honestly curious here. Not denying that he’s great at playing a warrior because that much is obvious. Just questioning why other classes can’t compete.

I think a thief could do that kind of damage.

Thief doesn’t have invulnerability or berserker stance to become immune to the visions and the weakness application attack.

This encounter is specifically designed for a warrior.

I can also see a berserker guardian with sword/focus pulling this off. Use hammer for circle of warding on liadri, switch to sword/focus for the burst.

Not nearly as good as a warrior but both classes can melee her pretty easy. A mesmer can melee her a bit before she starts spinning.

And the engineer and necro don’t need the crazy trait investment to make their aoe condi bombs work. Sure, larger bomb radius is good but that’s on the condi duration line not on some useless line that grants stats completely irrelevant to a condition build and then the only tiers of usefulness are on the second and third tier. The first tier has worthless traits for a condi build in skirmishing.

By stacking warriors or thieves you are getting boss kills of less than 1-2 minutes. That happens because of the frontloading they can do before reflection fields run out and they actually have to start worrying about the fight mechanics.

Burst is insufficient in this game only if you significantly increased the HP of bosses so sustained becomes more of a concern. But at the time being warriors and thieves can burst so much damage into a boss within a time frame that the sustained argument drops, and even on the issue of sustained axe warriors are only behind lightning hammer eles in sustained and the axe warriors are self sufficient by comparison.

My warrior in ruby orbs without might or vulnerability stacking on a random mob without cof sigils factored in is hitting his auto crits for 3.3-3.4k crits with the final crit of the auto chain landing easily for 5k+. That’s without stacks of might or vulnerability.

LOL, if you think ranger is good enough to dump your guardian I feel sorry for you. It will be a long time considering the pace of updates before ranger is in as good a place as the guardian.

Necro is very easily killable by 1 class. Thief, warrior, dd ele can still train him to the ground. Phantasm mesmer can do so as well.

you mean the one trait that fear people when you get CCed? i have it on my dhuumfire build…

You’re either giving up 20 in soul reaping, which means you have garbage for life force generation and are a ripe target for training, or you gave up 20 in curses, so you have no Terror.

Either is a horrible choice.

Ranger - Spirit Rework

This is not a rework it is a nerf.

Spirits need 30 points in a traitline to be any good, and because a particular bunker spec is using them to their advantage you’re advocating these spirits be nerfed even though other specs don’t run spirits to the same effect, and wouldn’t even consider running the spirits if you nerfed them into this.

I don’t ever see my glass ranger sacrificing any stunbreaker utilities for a 50% chance at an effect when the encounter is do or die. I don’t even see power builds currently using spirits because the spirits provide more to the group than they actually provide for the ranger outside the sun spirit.

The spirits are also pretty garbage in WvW or against any team with cleave.

Something allot of player’s seem to forget and half reason I say bring it down to 50%. There based on HIT and not on CRITICAL. This is why we can bunker up so much, currently we can run Rabid/Shaman/Carrion/Knight’s with the 10/0/30/30/0 – 0/10/30/30/0 – 0/0/30/30/10 Spirit Build.

It’s the main reason spirit’s are so powerful and used as team support. It’s currently the strongest team support build with viable damage. So yes it needs to be reworked, rather then everyone saying it’s easy spec to play it will become spec which has higher skill cap and requires more skill then your avg FOTM ranger.

And don’t bring up WvW in SPvP forum’s.

Also how badly do you think this will effect the build, it’s rather small it will still be one of our most viable builds. Every time I read anything you say its all QQ your forum warrior now kitten off.

And why do you think people run 30 in wilderness survival, because they have a choice?

Empathetic Bond and Signet of Renewal are your only source of condi removal outside healing spring.

If the other traitline or the ranger himself had better condi removal options you’d see points invested in skirmishing for the bleed on crit trait, and we’d see builds with the spirit even then if spirits worked with crit instead of hit.

And yes I bring WvW in sPvP forums because your pretty little changes, just like pet damage changes spilled over to WvW and screwed over people.

You don’t get to screw over the other formats just so people can stop complaining about sun spirit giving burning to people.

Because the real issue here isn’t stone spirit or storm. It’s sun on top of condi spec players so don’t suddenly turn the spirits into an issue.

And the nature spirit is a 240 sec cd, 1.25 second cast elite. It better be stupidly strong. It’s not a 45 sec cd basilisk venom or an equally low signet of rage with lyssa runes that does full condi clear plus all boons on a low cd on top of its actual effect. It’s an easily killed/cleaved spirit.

That rez is pretty much the only reason you use the spirit as the healing is negligible.

Don’t kill a player before killing the spirit. Or CC the spirit when the rez is going to happen.

Ok, so I’m not saying you are wrong. I’ll just give you some tips how to deal with it.

1. Keep track of where the red circles will spawn. They have a pattern that doesnt change. Knowing where they will spawn on top of sort of seeing them was enough for me to do it without failing.

2. This is just tactics. You have plenty time to lure enemies onto them and then the rest away. And on top of that there’s a dozen mechanics that make it even easier, like knockback or shield stance.

3. Gotta go with the toughness there to neglect most of the damage if you can’t succeed. I used knights gear and completed it with plenty time left. Perhaps use a mango pie to keep some HP regen. If you want to, you can dodge every single auto attack to last to the second phase.

4. They spawn at certain pre-determined places. They have like 6 or so options of where they can spawn. And they always spawn at the same moment. So it’s sort of random, but still fairly predictable. As far as the ranged attacks, that is indeed super annoying so I would advise using aoe attacks for it.

5. Once you get to learn how to do everything as fast as possible, you should have plenty of time. I think I had a good minute left when I did the 8 orb achievement. And like I said, I didn’t have full damage spec.

What issue you haven’t really adressed here, in my opinion, is that in the second phase you can’t really melee her. So some classes that are weak with range have a real disadvantage. For instance, a necro is very short range which isn’t optimal.
Aside from that having a lot of condition removal really is helpful if you’re trying to get close to her.

Can’t melee her my kitten . Warriors and guardians can perfectly melee her, even mesmers.

The real flaw of this fight is the stupid time limit and the application of weakness heavily favoring specs that can spike her down before she wears you out of endurance with weakness application.

A class like the warrior can completely negate all of her mechanics. He can berserker stance to be immune to weakness. He can endure pain to negate vissions while spiking her or a shadowfall. He has frenzy to deal over 60% of her HP in it.

In fact I expect the warrior to be the easiest class to do 8 robs achievement with because you can just do the orbs while kiting with a rifle or longbow and as soon as you finish the orbs you can spike her down.

It is such a joke.

New Meta no more Mesmers :(

To stick with the thread, my opinion :

Mesmers are still very strong. They have no problem (maybe lack condi removal), the problem is the meta. They just don’t fit in, as many other classes/builds.

It’s not the condi. D/P and s/d thieves hardcounter mesmers as well as do current strong warrior tpvp builds.

Mesmers and eles were dropped because everybody has burst now, but mesmers and eles have poor sustained damage compared to the classes they’re competing with on top of the survival issues.

You dodge the phantasm and shatter and the mesmer does no damage himself.

The post above is so dumb. Even if it was 2k DPS, you’re not factoring in the mesmer’s garbage DPS and how that compares to other classes, including utility classes like the guardian and ranger.

It’s a pointless nitpick you make about guardian and mesmer reflect when the end result is the same. A properly used wall achieves the same.

And if you’re traiting 20 points into inspiration, you’ve gutted your DPS more than enough to be out of the question as a DPS class. In terms of DPS the swordsman or duelist outperform the warden in cooldown and interval of attacks, not to mention mobility.

And to even sit here and pretend that warriors and guardians and rangers don’t boost the DPS of the group by similar amounts while also putting out much better DPS is a joke.

As a mesmer you’re brought for the time warp and that’s it. Everything else can be replaced.

I tried this on PVT guardian but the difference against berserker is noticeable.

The more damage you can put while moving the much easier the fight is. And if you are a warrior or guardian you can pop blocks and burst her down in melee.

Well, at least you learn something new like on sword/focus guardian spamming auto is preferable over using zealot’s defense on cooldown?

How engaging that both for ranger and guardian their best bet is to spam the auto ;*(. Maybe if you run axe offhand instead of warhorn on ranger you’ll use a path of scars on cd.

I’m putting my agreement here as well. Equally challenging my kitten .

Oh equally challenging isn’t even up for debate, just look at the kittening warrior video where he drops her in like 10s after her invuln drops off, it’s ridiculous. Here it is btw…

Instead of fear me you can also take endure pain and the visions would explode on you without damaging you as you do frenzy/100b+whirlwind and then just blow her up with axe.

Also instead of bull’s charge he can take berserker’s stance and not be afflicted with weakness while bursting her down.

Everything about that encounter favors berserker warriors and guardians.

Why don't you just erase pets from this game.

Even if you did the previous fight and were kiting, my pet would be alive but would fail to hit a moving mob most of the time even with speed signet on.

Pets can’t keep up with targets at all because they auto-root when attacking.

Why don't you just erase pets from this game.

In the pavillion the pet is dead under a second. There is so much aoe and the pets ai is so bad that it has become pretty useless.

Even using a drake with its whopping hp and toughness it dies to several of the bosses in 3 seconds flat.

And if you use a bear you might as well bring no pet considering the bear does less damage than a non-condi spec burning tick (its auto is seriously like 400-500 damage with minimal crit chance, it’s just terrible like the moa).

Did you do close combat or rifle? I have seen some people doing in the warrior way and melee her down, but not too many.

Frenzy+endure pain+signet for endurance regen.

Go in and burst her while immune, back out after.

BM or condi bunker ranger doesn’t work too well because most of your condi application prefers melee. Throw torch and crippling talon get body blocked by the visions and there goes most of your damage as a large part of the condi ranger’s damage is a melee range splitblade+throw torch+crippling talon. If any of those gets blocked, aand the pet that is your main source of sustained damage is dead the entire time, it’s pretty stupid.

Necro and engineer on the other hand can sustain condis very well.

Or you simply use a shortbow and apply bleeds galore… Also, splitblade and throw torch, is not melee range… They’re 600 range which is 4 times the melee range for 2h weapons…

What part of body blocking did you not understand. Only splitblade pierces baseline. If the visions get in the way of a throw torch to the boss it’s a huge DPS loss.

Compared to my necro’s scepter with is not a projectile and several of its skills are aoe and I can sustain via my auto alone 6-7 bleeds plus poison plus burning procs.

In terms of sustained condition damage the engineer and necro do much better, because the ranger is balanced around his pet’s damage to compensate.

Except that pet damage is nonexistent in this fight.
