I want to see an orgie in Divinity’s Reach. A centaur head on the “king” of the orgie, everyone is drinking blood and eating meat and bread while kittening each other.
I’ve tried this versus some in my guild, great pvpers.
Mesmer shatter build
Warrior stunlock build
Necromancer (deathshroud build?)
Ranger
I can adapt too most situations and win, it’s just a matter of skill.
What about if DT were moved to focus #4 (with a slightly longer CD), as its actual uses are an offensive form of defense (area denial, zoning, stomp denial), and instead give scepter 2 a proper offensive skill that can be used to more reasonably do damage. This would make S/F way more useable as it is not a complete sacrifice on offense vs. S/D, and fits the theme of offensive-defense for fire.
Scepter-2 on fire should be more reliable damage, perhaps similar to staff 3. For comparison, Dagger 2 (dragon’s breath) and staff 2 (lava font) both do decent damage, burn, and can be used frequently. They are also more reliable for getting a few hits. A new suggestion for Fire Scepter-2
Firebomb
Cast time: 0.75 s, Recharge: 6s
Damage: 300, area 200
Burning: 2s
Call down a single bomb of fire from the sky, dealing damage in the areaAnimation: similar to comet.
Of course, the numbers need to be tuned. Dragon’s tooth should be given a longer cooldown and make a fire field after falling. The idea is that Dragon’s tooth will act like engineer’s BoB for area control. Perhaps it should be cast at the player’s area as opposed to the enemies.
No thank you i don’t want Dragon’s Tooth on my focus. Rework the skill and make it ground targeted or replace it with a new skill.
Dragon’s Tooth should be ground targeted.
Thunderstorm
Type: Elite Skill
Create a thunderstorm around you. Any enemy that stays inside it has a 50% chance to be stunned for 2 seconds, can only be affected every 4 seconds. Deals 300 damage each second and has a chance to stun.
Active Time: 10 seconds
Cooldown: 180 seconds
Major Trait: All elite skills have a 20% reduced cooldown.
Fire Grab is easy to hit with. Dragon’s tooth is a lot harder to hit with. ArenaNet should concentrate to improve other less popular weapon to make them more popular and for different builds that wasn’t viable before.
I’ve been playing with Dagger + Focus in SPvP today. I like it, maybe i don’t have the best traits but i do some really good damage and i have a few defensive skills to keep me alive/away from damage.
This is how my build looks right now.
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fEAQJAodhMmIblR4gjDAhCHMeohHfIeYhDSA-TkAg0E1oqxVjpGZN2aGYMDB
(I mostly use air elemental as it stuns and when enemy is stunned i do 20% more damage)
(20% reduced cd for earth skills because 10 sec reduced cd on Obsidian Felsh which makes me invulnerable for 4 seconds)
Edit: Swapped out Sigil of Purity for Sigil of superior Leeching as it shared a global cooldown with Sigil of Superior Blood, and now you also get more lifesteal for better survival.
Anyone have any tip for a perfect Dagger + Focus build?
(edited by Zoid.2568)
Well.
Sword: katanas
Greatsword: Gatsus’ sword from Berserk, the giant sword he get from the blacksmith.
Staff: A cross formed staff made of autumn leaves.
Dagger: Alibabas’ dagger from the anime Magi. Can call forth an element on the blade.
Mace: Medieval spiky mace (of doom)
Hammer: Medieval spiky hammer (of doom)
Focus: A skull with black liquid dripping out of it
Scepter: A single shard of light with a starshaped head
Shield: Rocks embedded into each other to form a “mountain”
I don’t understand how you can be born a hero. What actions have you taken to become a hero at birth? then you saved millions of people from extinct and you’re just somebody now?
Makes no sense.
Achievement system and food. A good decision by ArenaNet.
I would have liked the story to be more focused on you as you struggle to become the hero, better immersive story and impactfull decisions and missions, more focus on grouping (like missions in GW1), in-game cinematics or live theatre (no cinematics at all, focus more on body language and the area surrounding you) better immersion.
Heres a link to the Cantha themed weapons:
http://dulfy.net/2013/06/11/gw2-dragons-jade-weapon-gallery/
They come out of dragon coffers which are selling for around 1 silver 40 copper on the trading post. Enjoy.
Yes but their not that good looking.
Do you think we will see new chinese/asian (canthan) themed weapon and armour when GW2 launches in China? and maybe legendaries?
I agree with you. The Warrior need better support abillities to compete with Guardians, also for self use.
Have you never played the warrior selfhealing weapons swap build? you can do some crazy heals while dealing quite some damage.
There’s a difference in people who want to find great build for their class and experiment. Then there’s those who want to whine because they can’t adapt.
Colin Johanson have said that they don’t have to follow one story at a time, they can take a pause, continue on another story and then come back to the other story again.
Underworld makes sense as a new zone, it’s in another dimension, not even in Tyria, Elona or Cantha. The living world events isn’t supposed to be predictable, that would be boring as hell. Some things should just pop up from nowhere and surprise us.
A gate to the Underworld opens somewhere and we have to go and discover it, abyss monsters flood Tyria and we have to find the cause to this leak of abyss monsters. Then we might be able to go down into the Underworld, maybe not directly after, they might continue on another story and the Gate to the Underworld is still there to be seen and they will continue on that story later and let us discover the Underworld and what’s inside that gate and dimension.
New types of legendary gear probably means parts of an armour set. Chest, Shoulders, Helmet,Gauntlets etc. Hopefully we will be able to upgrade the existing dungeon armour sets to legendary, with new looks and effects.
Edit: I would so love to see a Legendary Arah Armour Set or Legendary Ascalonian Armour Set.

There’s not just one story in the living world events. Sometime we will see Crystal Desert, sometime we will see Maguuma Wastes. They can start a story and follow it for 1-2 months, in 2-4 chapters and then they a break from that story and continue with another one and later come back to that story again.
Crystal Desert will most likely be about Glint and Mursaat.
“just collecting achievements” in GW1.
Never played it, did you.
Yes i did. for many years.
Ah ok so it’s per 5 points. Thought it was every point. Ok then, only 500, 1 free chest.
It’s 50 per title not 50 per every point. The maximum from HoM is 500 not 2500
You misunderstood…
You can get a total of 50 HoM points and each HoM point reward you with 50 Achievement Points in GW2. 50×50 is 2500 achievement points.
Edit: That’s 5 “free” chests for playing GW1.
So you get 50 achievement points for each HoM point. Someone who has 50 HoM points get a total of 2500, by just have collecting achievements in GW1. How is this fair? i thought the achievement system in GW2 was for GW2 and not GW1. there’s already HoM rewards that you can get, but why make it easier for GW1 players to get achievement rewards also?
I’d like ArenaNet to answer why GW1 players deserve GW2 achievement rewards more than dedicated GW2 players.
I would polish the living kitten out of this game. It needs a SERIOUS polishing.
Glad that that’s what they’re slowly doing.
Polish faster.
Not sure if trolling or simply ignorant. Some things take time. Polishing is not a job one should rush. Bad polish is worse than no polish.
With the new 4 teams instead of 2 teams (the live teams) they have more time to polish their content before release.
I would like to see AC set glowing in night as weapons.
Now this is a cool idea alright !
That will most likely be a Legendary Armour Set. They may let you upgrade the AC set in the mystic forge.
But the radiant set looks awesome, besides the helmet imo. Without any metalparts/parts that don’t glow it would lose at lof ot its charm.
Looks good on warr or guardian sure, but on light or medium classs it doesn’t look as good. Both radiant and hellfire are pretty much heavy armour, hellfire might be a bit medium armour. Should have made one for each armour type..
I agree, the radiant helmet looks like crap. sorry to the one who made it.

You miss the point of this thread. I didn’t make this thread so you could tell me/us how much better Radiant is than Hellfire. I made this thread so you could write how much better they could have been made.
Looks really kittening wierd with silver colour on gauntlets when my armour is gold/black. Can’t even dye them.
Well then the appropriate action is for you to adjust your dyes. Not expect the shine color to adjust to you.
No. I don’t want a full set of armour in silver. Make the whole gauntlet shine instead. No point in leaving a part of the gauntlet silver or whatever colour it is and then don’t let us dye it.
No, I don’t really want a 100% glowing armor set thank you.
I like the silver, but I guess it would be nice if you could dye that part.
See, now you’re starting to talk. I like you a bit more now.
Yes, if we could dye that part it could match our armour sets without looking wierd.

The Radiant Vambraces doesn’t look as good as they should. Why aren’t the whole gauntlet glowing? there’s a part of the gauntlet that’s silver and no glow, doesn’t match the rest of the armour and looks out of place. If they aren’t reworked, i’m pretty screwed for not chosing hellfire.
Because that’s the aesthetic choice? Deal with it until Anet releases a fully-glowing glove piece.
So you think Radiant and Hellfire look equally cool? Radiant look like tier 1.5 ascalon armour and Hellfire 2.0 CoF armour. Radiant need that 0.5 extra to be on par with Hellfire.
Bump this dissapointing to hear. But any screenshots for proof? You cant really claim something is wrong with the gauntlets without posting some evidence. Also maybe its only you that sees that these gauntlets effects arent what you expected and other peoe are fine with it. So if you expect Anet to fix this then post screenshots ^^

silver/gray colour. Doesn’t look nearly half as cool as Hellfire. kitten why did i chose those

Zenith aren’t the only cool looking weapon in the game. It’s not like you will have zenith weapons on all your characters.
- Revamp of all the dragon/chest events.
- Scale bosses better.
- New features and skills for all classes.
- More useful traits.
- New elite skills.
Great idea. I think it’s needed to compete with at least Guardian.
So classes in GW2 have really few elite skill to chose between, they don’t go with all builds.
Here’s a suggestion that would work well with most AoE builds for warriors.
- Absorb 50-75% of the incoming damage up to xxxxx damage for 5 seconds and release it in an AoE around you, up to 5 enemies. Damage is spread between all 5 enemies.
Edit: With master trait it’s 75%
(edited by Zoid.2568)
lol wtf? you didn’t even use shield bash/leap to get flame aura. This video proved nothing.
Well.. I did pretty much everything you can do in Bazaar of the four winds. Took me 4 days to complete most of the useful achievements. It’s a nice change to get a new zone with new stuff to do, Bazaar was really different and fun. Had really fun those 4 days and the new achievement sytem is very good.
Looking forward to Crystal Desert in about a week. Hopefully more content than Bazaar of the four winds have.
What we need is more information of the story. Like a living world event book, like the one we have for personal story.
Can they add new monsters? tired of kittening Wurms everywhere..
Kiel for council! Evon is a boring charr. Give him some beer or wine..
Name one other company that has “hundreds of skins” in their game for armor choices.
Any decent game, where the developer releases modding tools, gets hundreds and hundreds of skins all for free!
The modding community makes them, and many modders are far better at armour/weapons design than the fugly crap Anet’s so-called professionals have come up with since game launch.
Go to any mod hosting site and see for yourself ..
Not in mmorpgs. Take WoW for example. All the armours pretty much looks the same.
Just because you don’t like the armour doesn’t mean someone else doesn’t like it. Taste is like the butt, as we say in Sweden.
I just read the new blog post about The trek of the Zephyrites. Seems like next living world event will be a zone in the Crystal Desert.
09 Season of the Scion 1320
Exhaustion and heat may kill us before we get out of here, if the minor irritations don’t get us first. The desert winds blow sand into everything. The grains are like tiny biting mites that get between your skin and your clothes, cling to your scalp, and grind between your toes.
My companions have remained taciturn throughout our journey, and as we approach the battlegrounds, we’ve stopped conversing about anything nonessential to our survival. We’re too exhausted to do anything but plod onward.
It’s as if the wind, sun, and weather were conspiring to slow our progress. I’m beginning to understand why someone keen on security would make this the location of her lair.
10 Season of the Scion 1320
Our trek into the Crystal Desert has taken weeks longer than expected. The weather has proven unpredictable, but we have finally arrived at our destination.
I write this now from a hill overlooking the battlefield. An air of solemnity rises from the sand in waves like the shimmer of heat, making it difficult to breath. This is where Destiny’s Edge confronted the crystal dragon, and where our protector died defending us from her Elder kin. I imagine I can see the crystalline remains of her corpse from here. Tomorrow, we will know.

I found some old concept art on the Tengu. It looks like ArenaNet had Tengu in mind to let them be playable, maybe not at launch but sometime after.
There’s also alot of concept art in the book i have that didn’t make it into GW2.

Sorry the image code is broken…or i’m doing it wrong.

All the bosses in the game scale like crap. You can kill behemoth in 1 minute, The Shatterer in 3 minutes, Short Fused Felix in less than 1 minute etc. Where’s the fun? not only that but alot of people get stuck in wp and their camera get stuck. It’s no fun fighting a boss when you kill it so easily. Where’s the excitement in that?
Make them scale better..also maybe add more abillities that can wipe a whole raid of 80s. Please.
I guess you’re new to the game then. Before you could activate Reneewed Focus and still fight. Now you can’t fight while it’s activated, it’s a channeled skill now.
Had a break from GW2 for about 2 months. Now i level a gurdian and saw that the elite skill Renewed Focus was nerfed hard. The skill is not worth as an elite skill anymore, you can change it to a utility skill. My character raises his sword like Highlander instead of fighting like Gatsu in Berserk. Doesn’t make any sense. Now it has the same effectiveness of a utility skill.
Raise your sword, immortal for 3 seconds and reset your virtues.
Fight like a kitten, immortal for 3 seconds and reset your virtues.
Which one do you want?

Oh, i din’t know this. Thanks!
As i see it there’s two different options on how to make the customization to weapon skills. Weapon traits or new weapon skills that can be changed.
Right now we have very few weapon traits, there’s like 1 for each class that decrease the cooldown by all weapon skills by 20% and adds more damage.
If ArenaNet made a traitline for weapon skills only i think it could be easier to balance skills. While entirely new skills would make it more difficult too balance between all skills available to a class.
Weapon traits could in this case add an effect to a weapon skill or increase the effectiveness of it, like damage, decreased cooldown, additional stacks of a condition etc. This would be easier for ArenaNet to balance.
An example, Zealot’s Defense (Guardian shield skill). Instead of only blocking projectiles for three seconds it could also block melee attacks.
What would you like. A weapon traitline or entirely new weapon skills?
wow!! that looks kittening amazing and epic. Give me a whole set of armour.
