Yeah it sucks, i don’t know why they didn’t make the Fleshgolem underwater. It makes no sense at all.
Just stopid.

I’ve currently leveling a MM Necro, it’s lvl 45. At lvl 80, is the MM necro available in WvW and Dungeons or will the minions just get one shotted?
bossoms of Eir….
People have gotten too focused on the Living Story and think it’s the only thing ArenaNet are working on. They will add new zones, they will add new dungeons, lfg tool etc but it takes more than 2 weeks to create this content. A new zone might take 3-4 months to create, if they want all the dynamic events, the lore, the npcs, the feeling of the zone etc, to be just right. Give it time folks, ArenaNet is done with their testing of the living story, it will be much bigger updates from here on.

“There may be other agents at work” could be a hint at the living story and the culprit might be from the Maguuma Wastes.

ArenaNet said they would release something like this long before beta started but it never happened. I don’t know why.

Legendary ranger pets!
Ranger pets sucks, maybe that’s why.
I’ve been playing trap ranger since i started my ranger, it’s good.
If there’s going to be a third heavy armour class let it be something dark and use scythes and two-handed axes.
Legolas grabbed his
Any MMO can be the fastest selling MMO when you pick a random arbitrary point like 9 months.
SWTOR sold 2 million copies in its 1st month and WoW has sold over 100 million copies in 7 years.
What an awful statistic!
GW2 sold 2 million in 2 weeks.
WoW vanilla retail game sell for like 1 dollar. I could buy 1000 of those right now.
Prices goes down so you can’t really go past 12 months and still count who sold most.
(edited by Zoid.2568)
Colin had mentioned not terribly too long ago that they were close to releasing another sales milestone once they hit a specific target… I wonder what that target is and how that’s going?
I’d guess it’s 5 or 6 millions. 4 millions isn’t really that special if they slowly but steady sell more and more boxes, they will hit a bigger number soon and over 3 millions were still 5 months after release and now it’s over 9 months.
^ Yeah i’ve read that, but i’m pretty sure that’s not all of it. By looking at the China trailer for GW2 you can see new hairstyles and more, so more content will be added but what exactly?
10 i think. Can screenshot them all later and upload here.
When GW2 release in China the west version servers will get the same content they do (however china servers will be tweaked to fit their playstyle), so hopefully we will get more livelier cities, new armour, new hairstyles, faces etc. New dynamic events, revamped content and maybe a new zone.
What do you think we will get with China release?
Edit: Some info about china beta phase 2 http://www.mmoculture.com/2013/07/guild-wars-2-2nd-test-phase-for-china-begins-in-september/

I made a really good support build for Warrior to use in PvE and WvW. I haven’t tried it in-game but on paper it looks good, in-game i use something similar, healing shouts etc and it’s good but it’s not perfect, that’s why i made this build.
I can agree on that Arcing Slice need a buff, do anyone even use that burst skill? it gives 20% crit chance for stage 1-3, no real good damage either.
No. We need new weapon/weapon skills, elite skills, utilities, healing skills and new traits to chose from.
by three little..
Yeeeah at last i get Braham’s weapons.
and ate his…..
I really liked the story with Braham and Rox, much better than most parts in the personal Story.
Now, it surprises me that Braham and Rox have a severe case of short term memory. Hell, they forgot who I was and reintriduced themselves to me ( Try talking with them inside the Crown Pavillion).
Yeah i know, that’s pretty lame. I don’t know why ArenaNet do that..
I assume the Living Event will change zones or parts of zones. Some new enemy taking over a zone and raising an army or a stronghold, new mobs, zone may change because maybe a dragon landed there and burned the whole zone into crisps etc.
Does a Living Story event leave an impact on areas that it occurred in even after the Living Story has completed, or do zones go back to normal afterwards? If I play through an area that was the focus of a Living Story event two months ago, will the area feel different than it did before the Living Story event took place there? Also, do Living Story event primarily focus on level 80 content, or are there Living Story arcs that focus on lower level areas?
It’s hard to say if your experience would be different since there are 3000+ dynamic events in the game which can be triggered by various stages of success or fail.
Would depend if you played them all the first time the first time you leveled (not likely), or if you followed through on event chains, etc. I know they’ve added a few permanent events (Modus Sceleris, Skritt Burglar) and the Living Story keeps rotating in and out more that change over time. They also added quite a few new jumping puzzles and secret areas.
Another thing you can try is playing a different race or a different order to see a completely different way for the story to unfold.
I guess I mean something along the lines of:
Since one year ago at launch, did the majority of those 3000+ events change or are they exactly the same?
Sadly, I have played at least one character of every race already, but I have yet to play each of the orders (though I am not very fond of the Personal Story system).
Right now there hasn’t been a lot of permanent content as ArenaNet said they were mostly testing what works and what not. So real permanent content will be released in the next weeks to come and into the future. Hopefully we will see more changes to the world like that.

I think Flurry with a stomp after, then swap to hammer and use that burst skill for AoE stun would be great. Or start with Flurry, Hammer burst and then stomp.
Kodan look best imo. If we are looking at non-playable races too.

I really liked the story with Braham and Rox, much better than most parts in the personal story. The living story with the woman in Divinity’s Reach was also very good, i liked the black and white cutscene and she had a lot of personality.
I wish champions and world bosses were harder, so you actually have to think when you fight them. ArenaNet want some sort of speedfarm in the game and champions are going to be the new speedfarm. Before, CoF p1 was the speedfarm everyone did.
It’s very clear, even if ArenaNet doesn’t say “Hey, we want champions in the open world to be our new speedfarm, so we are replacing them with CoF p1”
Liadri is harder, i gave up after 50 tries or so but i’ll try a few more times. Clocktower was fun even if you failed and failed, didn’t matter cause i had fun, but after 2 hours or so i made it and completed the Clocktower and i even ran it more times because it was FUN.
Liadri is a different story, there’s a few methods you can win against her and even if you use those methods (builds) it depends on how good you are as a player, if you’re not good enough you won’t win.
Do Clocktower 1000 times you will win atleast one time of those, even if you’re a bad player.
Do Liadri 1000 times you won’t win if you’re a bad player. Unless you have the luck on your side.
Place the role within the encounter mechanics, and not as a role that’s made before you even start the fight.
Encounters don’t really have many mechanics, almost every encounter in the game can be berserked down. Only fractals and some Arah encounters do need support or tanky speccs.
Your question was ‘how would you encourage roles?’, not ‘why are roles not needed?’.
My answer to encouraging roles would be to view control, support and damage as aspects of combat and not simply roles, and have the actual roles built into the combat mechanics, and not make it so each person is stuck in that role. This way, players can look at what tools they have to fulfil that role.
I.E Cliffside fractal, the person with the hammer has the role of damaging the seal.
Yes, you encourage roles by making them useful.
If you don’t need support or a tanky specc, then why use it when you can kill everything faster with a berserker specc? waste of time. That’s how most players in GW2 think. That’s not their fault, it’s ArenaNets.
ArenaNet haven’t made either CC or support builds very viable. CC doesn’t even affect bosses because of defiant, which makes them immune to CC. If ArenaNet change encounters mechanics by making them more difficult to fight and make fights a bit longer and change defiant on bosses so you actually can use CC on them, not be able to stunlock them but make CC effective. Players will start using support, tanky and cc builds.
In GW1 nearly no one ran full dps builds, because you couldn’t, if you did you were screwed. ArenaNet made mobs in GW2 a lot simpler.
This is a problem for all classes, not just guardian.
Place the role within the encounter mechanics, and not as a role that’s made before you even start the fight.

Sorry for not talking SPvP or WvW but all speccs works in WvW and SPvP. Tanky speccs and support speccs are very effective in pvp, i agree they should bring in more support/tank utilities/elite skills and traits to make them more effective.
It’s the encounters mechanics in PvE that makes support and tank speccs less desireable, unless you do fractals or maybe arah.
ArenaNet i have a question for you, it’s important to how you want the game to play and be played by the players.
How are you going to solve the issues we have with roles. Almost everyone specc for zerk to get as much damage they can and run through content to increase their goldgain, it’s all about farming. How will you encourage players to specc support or tanky? this is for all proffesions in the game. I won’t give you any hints.
I already have answers to this but i want to hear your opinions so we know if you know the issues GW2 have and how you’re going to solve these problems. If you give the wrong answers i will have to write a long thread about how you don’t know anything about the issues in your game and hopefully it will help you see the issues so you can fix them.
You don’t need to spec support when you can suppot in full berserker.
Tanking doesn’t work because of the random aggro mechanics.
If ANet make it so classes aren’t self sustaining and give clearly defined aggro mechanics then the “problem” of roles will be solved.
i know GW2 doesn’t have taunts and that’s good.
No, you can’t go full support when using beserker.
Most classes in GW2 don’t have very good support abilities to make up for the loss of damage if you specc full support.
Same if you specc full tank, you don’t get anything near worth the same amount of effectiveness a berserker do.
i can show…..
Dragon Hunter
The dragon hunter is a class who uses his body and emotions to fight.
He can do hard flaming punches, make his skin harder than steel, create crystal formations beneath the earth to rise above, focus his emotions and release a blast of electric storms through his mouth, summon forest vines to catch his enemies and many more things..
Dragon Hunters are infused with the power of the dragons, which is the new movement to strike back at the dragons!
Zhaitan is back, he never died when he fell through the mists and mountains, he was only injured and fell asleep. Now 2 years past he has awoken again! it’s time for the Dragon Hunters to strike back!
In a new raid instance, a big battlefield at ground and airships flying above. We need to prepare for war, soldiers are marching with weapons and machines and the last stand of Zhaitan and his army is near. We will be victorious!
Still no answer. I’ll give them 48 hours, if we have no answer by then i will start a new thread and tell them what’s wrong and what needs to be fixed.
there were trolls..
The AP system is to get rewards for the time you have played. There’s no difficult content except some dungeons, like a few Arah paths, fractas and if there was really tough content to tackle they would most likely done a seperate tab for Hardcore AP or something like that, to really show off your skill.
(edited by Zoid.2568)
As hammer doesn’t work against bosses because of defiant which make them immune to CC, hammer is only useful against normal and veteran mobs, but really is a weaker weapon than axe or gs.
Increased damage and/or some conditions on skills would make it more viable for tanky/support builds, maybe even zerkers would use it but please leave some weapon away from zerk builds. Zerk warriors already have axe, gs, sword, mace,longbow,rifle..
Kodan and Tengu are going to be playable races. I didn’t say these Dragonborn will be a race added as the first race, but sometime in the future. The Living Story is neverending, it will go on for years. It would be interesting if there was a race with dragonpowers, that could fight the dragons on a more equal level.
How did we kill Zhaitan? with a few cannons. The story of that fight is pathetic.
I really hope he didn’t die.As for Zhaitan, he fell from a high place into cloud and water. I never saw a corpse. Every monster movie that has ever existed tells me that he’s just fine. Just like we know the Ancient Karka is dead because it turned itself into a molten statue for all time. There is no proof of Zhaitan’s demise.
Do you think we will see Zhaitan on a huge battlefield in a raidtype content ArenaNet are working on? not long ago in an interview they told us they are working on something like raiding, like their take on raiding.
I really hope that it is the final battle to kill Zhaitan.
that would be sweet, have a spirit wolf pack or minotaurs run with you
I think that would be to huge of an effect for something that should be something smaller.
old bearded norn..
Well, yes that’s how it is. If AP is collected by doing easy content and daily content that proves nothing of how good you are as a player.
I played LoL yesterday and a guy before we started playing said “i’ve played LoL for 3 years..i hope you’re not noobs”..the next thing that happens is he does stupid decisions, either run in solo and die or leave the team and don’t support us with his support abilities and really just blame everyone else. He must really be very ignorant if he haven’t learned anything in those 3 years of playing LoL.

Whatever way you look at it, a creature that can live in lava shouldn’t be able to be burnt. Same as a rock shouldn’t bleed, and an Ice Elemental shouldn’t be Chilled.
These sorts of things make players think of different approaches to how they fight enemies.
Rocks can bleed in GW2 though..
Dredge can’t be blinded, those mfkers.
