i pvp for fun but i need the tomes now to get my revenant to max screwed up the lvl20 scrolls ugh…
anyway this had nothing to do with the issue that chronos have too much of everything.
especialy defense.
i usualy don’t call for nerfs im more a buff the weak weapons guys but HOLY MOTHER OF…………………………..
Too many DEFENSE compared to the dmg and cc they can doo
too many immunes
too many bubbles
too many 0 0 0 0
too many CC
and ALL of this with a crapload of dmg.
wtf seriously i kill a bunker guard easier then a chrono and they also don’t nuke my healtbar down while cc ing me to oblivion……..
Cele dd eles feel balanced compared to this.im not joking.

that feel when you create your revenant and start spamming tomes like a mad man just to found out that you forgot to use the lvl20 scroll and get stuck at lvl60…….. run out of tomes………….

Greatswords have the best skins usualy.
and devs said revenant is more of a brawler so yeah mostly gonna get melee weapons

i want to pvp for the fun of pvp. rank points will come eventually over time, so who cares. i just want to fight some folks, don’t you?
its arround 2-3 min for me to get into unranked majority of the times.
not only that but burn guard is also way more easy to play than bunker guard.
its the oposite for me i think its waaaay easyer to play a bunker.
you get like 3x the points and reward track for wining in unranked then in hotjoin.

its kitten good in the current Condi meta
since i switched to a full Shout cleric shield hammer / Staff guard i barely loose a single match.
and barely anyone dies in my team.
ofcorse if the enemy team have 1-2 necros totaly build for converting boons into condis 24/7 then i pretty much killing my team XD

i have 400% more top stats then games played XDDDThey heavily increased the amount of top stats you can get, so this is the norm, whereas your win rate is 49% and mine is 64%.
If I started the same time as you did, I’d have like 4000000% top stats to games played

Put some cap on stats so you cant go over a treshold
like you can’t have more then 1200 from one stat
and let US decide what sats to play with atm
i don’t have a single build on my 6 lvl80 chars that i enjoy in pvp because i only can get those build realy work in pve with mixing different trinkets gears.
im sure im not alone with this.
opinions ? i seriously can’t decide Hammer or staff…..
im leaning to staff because
1 i hate hammers
2 staff has cool fight animations
3 has some heal
but looking at PvP videos seems like everyone and his grandmother using hammer….
has some crazy dmg and range.
so going Sword/shield , Staff in pvp would i kitten myself ? on a Shiro/Glint build ?
and for pvp ? staff or hammer ?

no ammount of healing will save you from the bilions of 2 hit or instakill aoes some bosses do…….
To make off-hand sword more viable option, you could possibly change the Grasping Shadow in a way that you shadowstep to the foe, hit them and if the hit lands, then you shadowstep to where you started this skill with the foe you targeted.
This way it would be at least sort of a gap closer with possiblity to kidnap the foe.

lol a good thief will stay in stealth like 75% of the times while regening their healt like a mad man and every few secs they come out take a minimum of 50% of their enemy HP.
if your not like this your doing it wrong
also a good thief cant be killed they know how to escape from everything.
so yes STEALTH IS A VIABLE ARGUMENT.

seeing as i have ALLOT of succes with my cele Medi guard the burn condi prety much compensate for the lost power. and the healing increase is prety nice so i wonder.
i feel like the Condi stat would go to waste not many condi even in trait lines :/ as a revenant.

looking at the traits i prety much can build it with perma fury and 100% crit change
so that now i don’t need Precision what should i go with ?

does it even worth to get that 100% crit change on fury ?

In general, as far as I get the gist of it, you guys want to flat-out buff the guard.
But don’t you think, even with his flaws, the guard is in a good spot for the current meta right now?
The mentality of “increase skill X by Y amount” won’t cut the deal in the balacing issue overall. Other classes have the same problems as guard.All these skills you mentioned, which are considered “dead” or “useless” can serve a purpose in the current content, they are not completely off the table.

These skills&traits are fine as they are now ~ just my humble opinion.

the thing is, thats part of the reason why no one uses those skills
if retreat was on shorter CD, then there would be more incentive to use it since it would provide aegis in a short amount of time.
sanctuary’s CD is WAYYY to long for a skill thats not even that good (seriously, i still seem to get hit from everything while inside it)
not tested it.
but if i remember right AOE goes through it
Condis still ticking on you while standing in it
and warriors if they stand close enough they can hit through it with their sword because the bubble is THAT SMALL.
and the Puny heal that it gives does NOTHING even if only the condis are the only one damaging you lol

I think you just proved Obtena’s point. You can’t think about playing anything besides medi guard.
Look at it this way: Do you want to see Zeal fixed for PvP? Maybe they could throw in some healing or damage prevention there. Look at meditations from outside guardian. They are healing for almost 2k each, instant-cast (so no counter-play), with no healing power and Fury on top of that. It’s very hard to justify more survivability, more damage potential, and more utility like being able to stick to a target better.
Shouts work perfectly fine except against signet necro (which is a different issue).
I don’t get you. You want to nerf build that even now don’t have its place among rated pvp? Why is that?
And why bunkers dont use medi if heal is so strong without healing power?
And what am I supposed to play else beside medi guard? Bunker maybe or burn guard?

maybe in competitive play sure but random pvp/pve/wvw roaming you’ll do fine.

random pvp nope again blown up in seconds. you need to fight rrrrealy bad players to not get blown up.but now days even Random pvp is filled with engies eles warriors with meta builds jumping in your face.
also condition builds melt players with low hp. and there are ALLOT of them nowdays.
i dont know about you but i do just fine, you just have to know when to get in and get out imo
hard to do that when the 1st momment your jumped your getting hitted for 3-4ks left and right while like 4-5 condis ticking on you like a mad man the MOMMENT you engage.
its realy rare even with my 20k HP to meet an enemy team that does not make half my HP bar dissapear in the 1st 3 sec lol

thats why nobody uses them right ? and everyone is medi.
in pve majority of these also not used for the absurd long CDs and weak or short effects for that long CDs.
same with virtues lost of guardian players even forget they exists even traited they can be meh.
you need to understand to make people move out of medi they need other abilities that are almost as good or as good as a medi but in another way.

dragonhunter its a support back line not a dps class , u need to analyze the strenghts of the class , i find it amazing for wvw.

-Aegis needs to reaply every 20-25 sec instead of 40 sec Non traited
Virtue of Resolve
-passive heal amount baseline should be increased to the traited version
-Consecrations
Sanctuary
– Bubble size need to be 2x bigger and heal for 2x more
– CD needs to be reduced from 2 min to 50 sec -1 min
Hallowed Ground
– CD needs to be reduced from 80 sec to 40-50 sec
Wall of Reflection
– CD need to be reduced from 40 sec to 30 sec
-Shouts
Retreat
– CD needs to be reduced from 40 to 25 sec
-Weapon Skills
Sword
-Zealot’s Defense
projectile speed increased
Castable while moving ( should not root the player )
Too many iconic cool guardian abilities that NOBODY uses because of the absurd CDs in my opinion.

Back to OP, nice post and I mostly aggree with you. Dragonhunter is a very nice spec (at least for PvP) and doesnt need big changes IMHO.
If you feel dh is nice for pvp you obviously disagree with Op.
To OP you told us at the start of your post that pretty nice things were available on dh.
But at the end of it I did not notice them:
- pve bad (only good for solo)
-pvp meh(dh not at its place)
-wvw uselessSo what is good then ?
nothing realy hell even the animations are generic and lame lol ( wings are the only good one )
