They removed it from Ranked, its still in Unranked though. Sad, at least it was different than point vs point.

People are unable to adapt to changes in MMOS

remember the new wvw maps ? ALL that work out of the window because people were unable to adapt…. i agree that it was a Maze… but seriously….

same with every single new spvp game mode…. then they cry that there is only point v point….

Majority of people cant adapt to new game modes and mechanics for some stupid reason…

and i see this in Majority of MMOs and MOSTLY the pvp players are like this…. these are the type of people that hold back games from going forward in many aspects….

Well, we still have a few weeks until release and there Reaper rework…
I don’t Care for Meta and minimax kitten… I do Care about my damage output…
Just yesterday I was running in Siren’s Landing to do they hearts.. and a mesmer just needed 3 hits to down a ley line scavenger… While I needed 6…
Stupid example I know but when I saw that I felt sorry for the Necro class as a whole….

i know that feeling…. the best part is when i want to aoe down mobs with GS…. and before the animation even winds up for a hit that takes down like 50% of HP…
BEFORE it even hits a mesmer or ele that just walked by casualy allready literly instant aoe killed all of them….

like come oooon…….

also that feel when reaper forms entire full Duration spining attack does not do as mutch dmg as a mesmer or ele with instants in a second …….

i sometimes think why i even play this trash class…
then i remember i can solo champions and some bosses and i feel a bit happier….

need to show those lifeless AI boss mobs who is the big guy here am i right ?

Kind of the other way around. Staff eles tend to be more glassy and dagger eles tend to be tankier.

Healer/support Staff Elementalists are unkillable 1 vs 1, they are not glassy at all. Dps Staff eles are indeed a free kill.
But i was wondering what these super though dagger ele builds look like, since celestial is no longer availible? I mean i do next to no dmg to them (especially no condi dmg) while they can still kill me with ease.

i think i know the answer…

your a condi player….

Eles have the Most condi removals in the game….
the only way you gonna kill an ele with condition dmg if you BURST him down with your conditions while cc ing him…

otherwise they laugh at conditions…. like its not even there….

let me add this also to my 400 miles long List of stuff Necros don’t have….

Well…reaper shroud has access to stability so its technically a safe stomp

in a fight thats not a safe stomp… because you alrleady prety much used it and its on some form of CD or NOT but will be removed while trying to use your slow ass stomp….

Stealth is a safe stomp , immunity is a safe stomp , engies machine is prety much a safe stomp , Super speed is a safe stomp…..

OP, you don’t get it.

Scourge does have aspects to it that are ridiculously OP.
Specifically, damage wise, I managed to get multiple shades to pulse on one target several times. Including the F5.

This is beyond broken. IF you do not understand why this is broken, that lack of understanding is why you performed poorly as a Scourge. Other classes cannot do this, and we know from the design videos this is not intended.

If you did not (ab)use this, then you obviously don’t get what this is all about, because you just used the skills in the indended way. Nobody wants to nerf that.

i do get it thats why i SAID it does needs some fixing and changes here and there i know about that bug…. still laughing at people that want to nerf bassicaly everything on the scourge until it cant do anything without getting rolled over again….

Necro 30k HP no toughness gets almost instantly blown up by Power burst thiefs and mesmers
necro 20k HP 1000+ toughness can survive 2+ burst opening from them…

Toughness is STRONG but you need a good 1k to feel the difference and a HIGH base HP…

Im srry but no, it can not be toned down, both from a balance and design perspective.

From a balance perspective, warrior is designed around sort of soaking damage, that is why its damage output is lower.

From a design perspective, this game heavily leans towards glass cannon builds, that is NOT what you want, you want diversity both in builds and strategies, in a game which meta revolves around glass builds and invulnerabilities, having a class that is designed around being able to soaking damage and extend fights to win, brings diversity to a very stale meta.

Warrior much like Necromancer are built around soaking damage. Learn to deal with it instead of doubling down on your preferred meta.

Necromancer is paper compared to a warrior…… just saying..

and warrior can dissengage fights not like necro…..

also a warrior has better mobility…

Can do some real dmg and Burst ( like most of the other classes with 3x the ammount of defensive utilities ) people magicaly forget how easy is to nuke and kill one and complain about necro being OP……

people are to used of facetanking everything a necro have and just roll over them when they did not had a pocket helper….

Suddenly people need to watch out for some stuff a necro does and counter OR avoid it while fighting a necro…

AND SUDDENLY we are brokenly OP….

all this Necro OP crap… im laughing at you people….. especialy when we have classes and builds in the game for like a year now that is egual or more broken….

yes Scourge DOES need some changes here and there and fixes and stuff…

The thing is you can’t keep 3 Shades up perma. You blow your three Shades then you have nothing for 15 seconds. Its all burst and no sustain.

so what ??? kill the necro then cap the kitten point….

The same, mutatis mutandis, could be said about dragonhunter trap stacks, and we saw how popular having that in a point cap game was…

yeah the difference is that Hunter traps are invisible so you cant just move arround them

and there are traps and even DH bow abilities that LOCK you inside their traps radious…

Scourge has neither of this so just move arround a bit or just straight run through a necros shade fast with the bloated def CDs most classes have and nuke the necros ass……

or just outright Blink/tele to the necro and pound him to the dirt…..

It’s unbeatable in duels and effective in team fights. It can sustain outnumbered for quite some time. What more do you want?

prety much this… i barely ever see a Warrior go down in a 1v1

most of the time we need to gang up on one and even then they can tank the kitten hell out of us while running around and even kill someone if we don’t have a support with us….

the only time Warriors seem to have issues are with Bomber Mesmers/Thiefs
seriously it feels like warrior are farting heals while fighting one….and still can hit pretty kitten hard…

It’s a pve raid trait imo, most skills will only affect your own subgroup in raids, with having shade skills affect 10 people, it effects the entire raid, making necro a super viable raid barrier support. Since whatever subgroup he is in he can barrier 10 people. With the shade skill and condi remove 10 people and heal 10 people with the blood sinergy.

total effected people is the same 5 for each regular shade plus 5 for you is 20 or 10 for mega shade 10 for you is 20 either way you can effect 20 players

You don’t understand how raid subgroups work. A skill affecting 5 people prioritizes the 5 people in your subgroup, it doesn’t matter if you have 2 shades out and are next to them yourself, if your subgroups are sorted so there are 5 people in your subgroup, wich is mostly the case in raids, the skills will not affect the other subgroup unless you target 10 players.

And you don’t understand how Shades work. If you have one regular shade out, all of your F skills are now hitting 10 targets.

But aren’t the only effects that can hit more than once per shade the ones that don’t affect allies (aka manifest sand shade effect)? So if you were all stacked up, having multiple shades wouldn’t make a difference but Sand Savant would?

puting down 2 shades into your group eguals puting down 1 big shade into your group… if we ignore your own aoe arround you….

If they allowed multiple shades to pulse on a single target, they’d have to balance on the assumption that people would be trying to stack the shades so as to get multiple triggers on their primary target, so they’d have to make the individual triggers sufficiently weak that getting three or four triggers on a single target on one skill use does not become OP.

Which would essentially make them so weak that you have to stack them to be worthwhile. They have to forbid it or it will become mandatory.

Not allowing shades to stack their effect on a single target means that they can make each strike powerful on its own, rather than balancing on the assumption that important targets will be being hit two, three, or even four times.

Isn’t it a test of skill to see if you can catch a target in multiple small AoEs? One Shade = decent, Triple Shade = dead. Poor positioning should be punished against a area control class.

Why would you need to nerf the procs at all? Does 100 blades need to be nerfed because you can get a full channel on some targets?

Why shouldn’t someone get blown up if the Scourge blows all their CDs and the target stands there and does nothing?

Add to that its a great way to balance PvE and PvP. Only NPCs and bad players get caught in multiple Shades.

Most capture points, Foefire middle excepted, are small enough that you could put down three shades that overlap the majority of the point while leaving very little of the point, if any at all, outside the area of effect of at least one, and don’t forget that the Scourge themselves count as a shade. If it was possible to hit a single target with multiple shades, then all the Scourge needs to do is be on the point themselves and anyone who contests the point will be being hit by at least two, and quite likely four, blasts.

At anything even close to the power of this weekend, that’s not ‘skill’. That’s ‘I own this point now, anyone who tries to say otherwise will die as I faceroll F2-F4’. It’d make the old turret engineers and full trap dragonhunters look like easily countered amateurs at point control.

And that’s just considering PvP, where your opponents can be reasonably expected to try to avoid being hit by multiple shades if they can reasonably avoid it. There are raid bosses that are stationary, or close to it…

I read a story on here or reddit on how players were hesistating when they saw a Scourge defending a point. People were actually afraid of Necromancers for once.

I mean what are some of the nerf herders hoping for? Do they think that if they act all meek that somehow Anet will take pity on Necro and be merciful? 5 years of GW2 tells me that ain’t going to happen.

I swear some players are so used to being kitten on that have come to accept it as normal and that they are noble martyrs for supporting the nerfs. If Scourge does get nerfed are they going to cheer?

I for one welcome the Scourge overlords. Time to put some real fear into GW2.

agree im playing necro since GW2 release… and other classes also but necro is the main.
and with scourge was the 1st time people actualy could not facetank and roll necro over…

people actualy tried to avoid necro abilities instead of just facetanking everything you throw at them while killing you…. even tough even NOW there are some classes and builds that can almost facetank shades….

right now scourge is good only in ONE thing and thats area denial…
nerf that and necro AGAIN will left with nothing….

people will again just facetank everything a necro throw at them with their billions of blocks/evades/immunes/heals/Resistance then kill the encro…

i mean come oooon i need to use the kitten Wiki to see the CHAIN crafting list i need to go through to craft a single item so i know whats the 5 million of mats i need for the 5 milion stuff i need for the other stuff i need for the stuff i actualy need…..

If you click on the magnifying glass icon next to an ingredient, it takes you straight to that recipe so you can craft it. Then closing that recipe brings you back to the recipe you were previously on.

You can also right click any mats you need more of to bring up a TP window to buy it.

yeah and that recipe also have an item with a recipe that also have an item with a recip….

you realy don’t see a prob with this ?

this is a “We put a bag in your bags so you found bags when you open bags in your bag” issue just on a Crafting level….

It is a Legendary for a reason. If it was easy it would be named something else. It is supposed to be a journey to get the materials and craft, not a week long hopscotch and Skip To My Lou my darling. Earn your shinny weapon, this isn’t welfare wars.

also about your idea of jurney….. standing in 1 place with a book in 1 hand that lists 25625 stuff you need to do and click and a hammer in the other to do it is the jurney ???

give those gear items different materials that only drop from hard or specific things bosses and places and once you get them just freaking Build the item with those….

thats a jurney… standing next to a forge with the wiki open is not………

Played MANY mmos and the crafting in this game is Brutally tedious and annoying compared to others out there…

the moment you want to craft anything that is even a little remotely useful

-you get the mats to craft something that is needed to craft something so with that you can craft the stuff that is needed to actualy craft the thing you want……………

are you serious ?
and the worst part is when half of that is even time gated… like are you seriously serious ?

im not realy a crafter player… i usually don’t craft but when i DO craft im fine with it… but the crafting in GW2 is just a Boring and annoying chore and outright stupid………

There are speed hacks wallhacks and teleporthacks, but damage and stealth hack is impossible without an in-game glitch, because of how the game was coded

If holosmith is overpowered then thief, guardian,warrior,mesmer,necromancer,mesmer are overpowered

seriously everyone calling doom and gloom on holosmith cuz it can achieve 4k/s dps

thief has been able to spam 6-8k/s with auto attack for over a year without a heat build up mechanic , everyone expects engineer to be mediocre is what seems to be the problem.

I had the same thought as well
I remember when Anet decided to buff Thief’s dagger autoattack and was left wondering well why not also buff the necro dagger autos?
god knows that the weapon needs similar buffs to at least scare peopl a bit in melee with necro

necro the forever forgotten class….

Why are you blaming players for standing near shades, you can cast your shades directly onto people to hit your other f-skills. Shades have 0.5 cast time and the others are instant.

immunities , blocks or even infinite evades say hi…..

or they just simply fast jump in your face CC you to hell and take away a MINIMUM of 50% of your HP the moment you place one down near them on them…

also hard to place it on people that spamming Clones and Invis all day…..

FogLeg, I totally agree with you about the class learning needs more time. However, alone with the extension of the “in fight” used keys to F1-F5 it becomes more difficult to handle and to get used to it. Fight rotations are more complex and heavily depends on the fight dynamics, if the target is moving on, you’ll need to adjust the sand shadows for optimized fight. To me, this is just not fun to play, compared to the easy use of the shroud. (therefore see my suggestions in the first post)

And yes, the class is overpowered, since I saw the first guild zergs in wvw containing almost just necromancers and guardians.

yet noone cries about guards huh ? give me a break…. Necro the only class needs nerfed the moment its meta in something am i right ?

I am not crazy about the colors either, but I would rather they reduce the size because it is just too wide and goes past the edges of my screen. It gets annoying having to move it everytime.

Unfortunately in this era of 4K the minimum screen resolution is 1366×768 and in only a few short years that minimum resolution will become 1080p.

in my opinion 1080p is the average nowdays…..

you can upgrade your T2 to legendary..

T3 is only for the extra effect on the skin…

you can go T2 > legendary
or
T2 > T3 > Legendary

you can do that without the trait also….

Yeah 1 common shade is enough to “support” 10 players in pve raids. It would be a waste to take this trait just because 10 players are affected around it.

In WvW raid, the fact that it affect 10 player might be a good point but it would be more effective to not take the trait and spread the smallest shades.

As for PvP… well that’s a 5v5 gamemode most of the time, their is no value in the fact that it can affect 10 friendly targets and 10 foes.

The value of the trait definitely lie in the fact that it allow you to benefit from the full effect of the minors traits with a single shade and not the fact that you affect 10 players/monsters with it.

I think it’s worth it even if it somehow limit you.

still does not worth it for the loss of the HUGE dmg increase you get from the other trait….

flashy and extra is the reason im playing games and mostly avoid simulation type of games………….
also this game is hell of a lot flashy and extra sooooo its more like are you playing the right game for you if these stuff annoy you ?

play for Honor instead or something similar ?
Dont ever touch metal gear rising tough … that kitten awesome game would make you hate it.
