Ok I get that you are very busy with the China release, and you are all doing your best.

Howerver, what i do not get is that at the introduction of the megaservers it is announced that you will roll them out slowly and listen to feedback. Next to that most maps that were included in initial megaservers release, were the low populated maps that benefit most from it.

After the first weekend the reports of trouble/concerns with megaservers grow rapidly, but no one reacts to this with a reply on the forums, INSTEAD after the weekend the Megaservers are rolled out to ALL the other maps, including high populated maps like queensdale that hardly needed megaservers to begin with.

Still no reactions on forums and 10 days after the feature patch we get a nice blogpost titled “Rollout of megaservers is complete” ok it contained a small line that there still are issues that need to be resolved but thats all.

If you were so busy, would it not have been better to put the roll out of mega-servers on hold till after the China release so you all would have had some time to discuss the issues that came up with the community first and find a solution for this?

Goodluck with the release, i look forward to see some more feedback/solutions about the current issues in the future.

Also ANet’s silence in the latest 2v1 is not helping the situation but it is what it is….

They haven’t been silent, in the latest ready up they mention it and its clear they have no problem with it. But anyway for the last 2 days or so its been relaxed so there are plenty of fights.

Yes. Since the servers’ population are unbalanced then why not just 2v1 the stacked server all the time?

After 2 years someone finally figured out how to balance WvW.

WvW has always had 2v1 but never to this extent (TQ vs. BG). There is nothing wrong with normal 2v1 but coordinated 2v1 can get toxic as we are seeing it now.

If other servers follow JQ/TC example then WvW will become a dead zone with many casual players who just want to play and have fun end up leaving…

Also ANet’s silence in the latest 2v1 is not helping the situation but it is what it is….

Account bound crafting? I don’t see it mentioned anywhere.

I am not sure why crafting professions and levels are not account bound? For example if my jeweler is level 500 then why do I have to log to that character to craft a lvl 500 item? Wouldn’t it be more convenient if the crafting levels were account bound?

You asked for the dev’s response and they responded saying they are busy. What else do you want? Maybe some of the dev’s are on vacation or they are short staff’ed or what not.

That said, I don’t think we really need another CDI since they have proven to be a waste of time.

This is one of those dungeons that is painful with pugs but really fun with an organized group…but again where to find an organized group is a different story. Personally I have done it 4-5 times with random LFG and managed to finish it 2 times out of 5. I will not go through that again. Also the dungeon needs a repair station.

tPvP impossible for mid-hardcore tPvP'ers!

Since the latest patch, the team based PvP has become a farming ground for solid PvP teams and it has totally ruined any chance of normal PvP’ers of winning in tPvP.

As a causal or mid-hardcore PvP player (currently rank 36 with least 5-10 matches every night), I used to enjoy tPvP and queuing with random players was never this bad. At least most players knew how to play tPvP and more or less had done their good share of tPvP.

Since the latest patch it has become almost impossible to get placed in a decent group and the low chances of wining a team PvP match is now reduced by bringing new PvE players into PvP. Nothing against PvE players doing PvP but the balance is just out of whack now.

Before the patch, doing a random queue for tPvP had a chance of %50 or more winning. At least from 10 matches, I remember winning 4-5 matches which I was fine with. but since the patch I have done 40-50 tPvP matches and lost almost %95 of it. The one match that we won was because one of the players from the other team dc’ed for 5 minutes. Even that was a close match and we almost lost. So basically we get dominated by hardcore tPvP teams who are on teamspeak and have played enough to know their ^$*#…

The ranks are now hidden as well but a proof is that I see the finishers on the opposite team (shark, bear, etc…).

So is ANet going to address this? or I should just forget tPvP and stick to hot join which I absolutely dislike since there is no team work and strategy?

PS: I called mid-hardcore, referring to PvP players who research their PvP build and know the maps and also know what to do at certain time during the match, etc….

PS 2: I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the hardcore tPvP’ers troll this post since farming new PvE players must be pleasant…

I read the patch notes but didn’t see this….

Since when I have to link all my gears to the whole party after entering a dungeon? And if I refuse to do so, I get kicked right away.

Since when if I get downed during a boss fight, I get kicked from the dungeon?

Since when if I don’t know the new (post-patch) spot to stack for the boss, I get kicked from the dungeon?

Personally I don’t care as I have already done my share of PvE dungeon and fractals; but this is unacceptable and ANet should do something about it for the sake of the new players.

why hide the ranks of the players’ ranks at the end of the match? The tPvP matches are still unbalanced but as a PuG tPvP’ers it would make me feel less unskilled by seeing the opposite team is a bunch of rank 60+ players. But now I can’t even see who our team loses to?

Is this a way to hide the so unbalanced PvP game you guys designed?

Yes another thread on Badge of Honor…

PvE gets tons of different currencies for almost everything. WvW gets one currency called “Badge of Honor”.

Other than the Gift of Battle, there no other item than would need these badges. You get some small discount on Ascended stuff if you have badges of honors but still not enough.

Make some items purchasable only with badges of honor or just remove this useless currency from the game….

JQ tricked SoR into double teaming BG during the season one and also during off season. But at the end, look at what happened to SoR. Where are they now? What remains of SoR?

TC, you worked hard to get in Tier #1 and doubling teaming other servers will not win you anything. At the end of the day, JQ will not let you get anything more than 3rd place. JQ will use you and then spit you out….

PS. Almost forgot. TC WvW is basically SoR WvW guilds. So I take that generous advise back…

Post Edit: All i am saying is that TC is a good server and I know they pushed hard to get where they are today. They are fun to fight against in WvW and it would be a shame to see them go down because of JQ. Double teaming is part of the war, but I think if TC can fight honorably they can get #1st and #2nd place. If not this season maybe next one.

As someone who doesn’t care about gold since there is really nothing in game to buy with gold other than legendaries which are out of reach of many players, I always wonder why gold farming or gold rewards always get nerfed but TP flipping stays the same.

Who cares if some players decide to farm all day? isn’t that way most MMO’s are played? The rate that gold is obtained by farming is a lot less than TP flipping. With good TP flipping you can get 1k-2k golds with each patch if you invest in the right place. But gold farming is really harmless as I see it. so what if a champ train gets you 10 golds an hour? is the game’s inflation is that bad that a 10 gold per hour farming will mess it up?

I’d say do something about TP flipping and leave the gold farmers alone….

A player sitting on 300k golds can have much more effect on the market’s inflation that the players farming 10 golds an hour 40 hours a week.

So I understand the philosophy behind the transmutation charges for each skin, but it is way too high for someone who has many toons and wants to re-skin them once in a while.

To re-skin a toon you need 6 transmutations for the armor and 2-4 for the weapons and backpiece. That is 10 transmutations in total or 200 gems or almost $3 fee.

A better solution is to charge 1 transmutation per a total make over. In other words, it doesn’t matter if someone re-skins one piece or all ten pieces in one go, you still get charged 1 transmutation.

What I look for:

Do keep in mind that “scouting” is a community created meta that gameplay mechanics have no bearing over. A game cannot tell the difference between a scout and someone who’s afk, as they’re largely doing the same thing. How can you differentiate between two characters standing around in the same spot, while one’s scouting and the other is afk?

Since it’s a community created meta, it should be rewarded by the community – BG recognises and occasionally reimburses scouts for their time. Others should probably start doing that too perhaps?

Defending on the other hand, needs to be made easier and more rewarding. Laying down 6 superior flame rams with 10 omega golems backing you up means that there is very little you can do to defend the structure if you’re even 30 seconds late in responding, assuming you have the numbers to defend in the first place. There’s got to be something devs can do about that.

The game detects AFK in WvW/EoTM and after 15 minutes of being AFK, the player is sent beck to LA.

Also Scouts are not completely AFK, they need to refresh siege and check different walls or even report stuff in map chat. Also browsing TP….

It is certainly not easy to come up with a solution for this, but Anet’s is got bunch of smart devs that can make this happen…

As I said above, we will address these, ideally, by the end of the year. The rewards will be better and the numbers will be less crazy town. There will also be some changes coming sooner than that that will go some length to addressing the imbalance in terms of total achievement points in WvW compared to PvE.

Hi Devon, I will praise your honestly and courage and will respect you decisions and efforts, If you come out and say the issue won’t be worked on. On this particular issue and the 100 other ones. We understand if you say the team has other priorities and don’t expect this to change. That for me and some others is more valuable than any other fake promise. This coming patch raises so many questions on why the change of heart after all this time and why now?

The feature pack brings a lot of new changes to the game and most importantly the account bounding of skins and items, mixing PvP and PvE, server merges. Each one of these changes goes against the initial design and what was planned for GW2 in the long term….

Account bound:

As a new player, I always felt that the game was designed to be character focused and each character has its own progress and rewards. We have seen it with fractals, Story dungeon modes, WVW XP and ranks, ascended and legendary items, etc…So why all the sudden change the original core design of the game and move towards an account focused rather than character per character progression.

Mixing PvP and PvE:

Also having played all modes of the game (PvP, PvE, WvW), it was kind of obvious that the devs wanted to keep each community into separate game modes. For example a PvP player never had to enter the PvE land, and a PvE player never had to enter the PvP land. A WvW player could play WvW only and level to 80 and buy ascended stuff with badges, etc…So why change than and all the sudden decide to enforce players to play all modes of the game?

MegaServer:

This is one of the biggest changes imo, and affects a lot of things. Why decide to merge servers after selling server transfers since the start of the game? Wasn’t the game designed to have each unique server as its own community and you had to actually guest to other servers if you needed to do an event or meet a friend or what not? This one can go on forever….

Rolled an engineer. Used crafting to level it from 0→80. Spent 100 laurels and 100 gold and 800 gems to get all its gear and make it look awesome. Then realized I don’t know how to play an engineer. I use it as a bank alternative right now….

Must say though, being rather casual, even I’m kinda starting to see that once I have a 80 of every profession and a couple more world completion, and finally geared up my main, there not too much else.

There really isn’t. I’ve got seven lvl 80s, and I’ve done world completion. There just isn’t really that much left to do in this game sadly. I’m thinking of trying dungeons since I’ve never done that as the community there doesn’t seem too friendly.

So you never run a dungeon in GW2 and you complaining that there is nothing to do in game when you get lvl 80?

Don’t we already get enough Empyreal Fragment, Dragonite Ore, Pile of Bloodstone Dust, that a chest reward for WvW season 2 has to include them?

I opened one of the WvW season 2 chests for completion of the achievements, and there it was in front of me: 70 Empyreal Fragment as the reward.

I was happy with the 2 greens I was getting before. At least I can savage them for some luck….

It could be just me but I am again enjoying the game as when I started GW2, rather than logging in everyday to get the Living story achievement and complete the grind; then log off and go vomit….Somehow the game is enjoyable again…

The feature patch applies to the whole game. Not just PvE or PvP or WvW.

They did add EoTM which is helping a lot with the 3 hours queues.

To be honest though, having shared WXP by April 15th is enough for some of us….

It has been said before many time but I will say it again…

There are three ways to get good loot/rewards in GW2:

1. Get a job → make money → buy gems with real money → convert to gold → Buy what you want

2. Learn to flip the TP → Make 10k-20k gold a month → buy what you want

3. Farm black lion chest keys → buy black lion chests → RNG chance of weapon skin → sell for gold → buy what you want

….or you can go play Diablo 3 ( patch 2,0) for 30 minutes, get some legendaries awesome drops, and then come back play GW2….repeat everyday….

Well right there is your main problem.. get off your AC and fight like a proper WvW’er.. … then you would of been able to of grabbed your loot while you played the game like real fighters

So being on AC is now considered improper fighting? and not accepted within your WvW rules?

They should offer +100%-%200 magic find to whoever transfers from high populated servers to low populated.

For example: If I transfer from BG to a bronze server, I get a boost of %200 MF. If I transfer to silver I get a %100 MF.

It’s terrible news for WvW. So many of us go to LA or Gendarran Fields to ask for help in WvW when it’s needed. Just going to screw a lot of PvE heavy servers over

….and all the AFK TP flippers will listen to you and jump into WvW for defend the world from evil and corruption.

Because you are dead.

Btw if you wp back right away the next bags from the next enemies you killed will pop on your feet so you can loot on your way back.

You sound like a PvE player talking in WvW forum….

First of all, my damage contributed to killing the opposition player, and that is why I am rewarded with bags and chests. So the fact that I am now dead, doesn’t mean I shouldn’t be rewarded.

Second of all, a lot of times people die in SMC or towers zerg fights and it is very possible that by the time they run back, that tower or castle is capped by the opposition.

Anyways, It is just a suggestion to ANet since the other day I was on a arrow cart in SM and I got back stabbed by some thief and died next to 1 chest and 15 or more bags. I could see the mouse cursor turn into a hand when I moved the mouse over the bags but couldn’t loot them.

You need server identity to kill the server with the highest PPT. You also need to know which opposition guilds you facing to know what to expect in a fight.

If your server has the highest ppt on the map, then you most likely get 2v1’ed.
