you dont even look like your trying at the first fight there.gj man
Try using Locust Swarm, Spectral Armour, and then go into shroud. Easy 10+ secs of “invuln” in teamfights while you sit comfortably in shroud, sippin’ on coffee.
You gain about 3% LF from each enemy hit with Locust Swarm+Chilling Victory and 8.8% LF from Spectral Armour. Also recently I’ve been using spots in teamfights where enemies can’t easily get to you (or can’t even port to you) in some cases (revs, thieves, guardians). Almost every mid point (and many side points) have those spots and I rarely see anyone (especially Necros) use them.
Edit: by lap I mean lamp
woops
any decent team with a dh would melt the necros shroud in 2 seconds. and basically the only way to do good is to exploit the map correct? cause thats messed up dude.
There is plenty of reason to increase supply. 82 of them as someone mentioned earlier… I happen to believe its more then that as there are numerous food/consumable recipes that take these as well. The problem is that they tie in with legendaries. As i said before, these are obtainable at about the same rate of T6 mats droprates, so it doesnt make sense to keep them that rare.
The cost is not a good reason. Neither is the recipes they are used in. If people can’t get past the FACT that the TP is driven by supply and demand and make suggestions that are inline with that philosophy, you are wasting your time. Price reflects all that, so the idea that the price is ‘wrong’ and demand needs to change makes little sense. We also know Anet monitors all these things and will adjust if they think it needs to be.
but you cant farm it yourself. i cant sell laurels on the tp.
Thread isn’t about laurels so …
laurels are=to mystic coins. both on a cap. yet laurels arent sellable. you said you can farm it like any other resource. which is a lie.
GW2 has never worked in the way you think it should, why should Mystic coins be any different? Frankly, getting Mystic coins as a login reward is quite generous considering what they are used for.
You make it sound like GW2 is a car that only drives backwards, and changing that to include forwards it unnecessary. And then calling it generous that the car drives at all. I doubt that’s the argument you wanted to convey. xD
No, I make it sound like Anet provides a consistent gaming experience and opportunities for players and that the OP hasn’t provided any compelling reason why THESE particular items should different from any other material on the TP. Simply put, the way you obtain Mystic coins is inline with the overall philosophy that Anet has for everything else that’s a material on the TP … you can farm yourself or you can pay for privilege and get them now on the TP.
If someone is going to argue that they need more mystic coins and shouldn’t have to be ‘ripped off by players on the TP’, then they are going to have to have a REALLY amazing argument to show that Anet has completely crapped up the way players get materials, in general, leading to an even broader argument of how players are rewarded is completely broken because Mystic Coins are not exceptional in any way from any other mat you can get in this game that is treated in the same manner.
Good Luck with that BTW …
but you cant farm it yourself. i cant sell laurels on the tp.
looks great on my female amazonian norn warrior.
the only people who complain about mutliloot being a exploit are people who can make gold efficiently elsewhere and want to sell their stockpiles of ectoplasm so they make a large profit. greed. just want to point this out. otherwise no one complains about free stuff. someone is handing out 20’s are you gonna complain about how they shouldnt be doing that?
First of all, try to enjoy the game for the games sake. Don’t make it a job. Just do what you want to do and masteries will slowly come to you over time. I guarantee that if you think about only masteries too much and that is your ONLY main focus then you will feel overwhelmed and maybe get burnt out. Need to understand that a very small handful of masteries are very useful. However, most are not needed in the game. They are split into HoT and Central tyria masteries. This means only experience in central tyria (including fractals and dungeons) can go towards central tyria masteries. Only experienced gained in HoT areas (including Raids) can go towards HoT masteries. You don’t need to finish a whole mastery track in order. In fact, I would highly recomend you don’t. I would go for masteries in close to this order.
HoT
1. Gliding
2. Bouncing Mushrooms
3. Updraft Gliding
4. Up to youAfter number 3, you can spread out a little to other mastery lines based on my suggestions below and what the masteries offer. One thing to consider is that as you work down a mastery line, the masteries will require more and more experience to complete the mastery. They will also require/give more mastery points. This is why mastery lvl actually may seem a little skewed. Someone who is mastery lvl 1 is several masteries away from lvl 20. However, someone lvl 150 may be only 2 masteries from 170 because the last masteries they need require a lot of mastery points. As you start of finish your masteries, you may run into problems with running out of mastery points. A lot of these mastery points are locked behind adventures. However, at first don’t worry too much about getting gold in these adventures. Some of these are actually really, really difficult to get gold in, while some of them are easier. This link will give you an idea of their difficulty levels in order.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/42gd63/if_you_could_rank_the_adventures_in_terms_of/
The masteries stated above are the only ones that I would say are really necessary. Eventually, you may want to complete the whole gliding track since it makes it easier to complete some adventures and get around.
In the Itzel lore track, you want to work your way up to Itzel poison since it is needed for some mastery points (don’t worry about the last two in this track unless you are just looking for some place to put experience).
In the Exalted lore track you want to do Exalted Markings and then only get exalted acceptance when you are ready or want to buy something from the exalted. The last 3 of the masteries in this track you don’t have to worry about unless A. You Want a Place to put experience or B. You may need it if you are working on your profession achievement for the weapon skin.
In the Nuhock lore mastery line you want to get up to the 2nd mastery (Nuhock Wallows). This makes it easier to get around. After this, you can get Nuhock language only when your ready or want to buy something. Nuhock stealth detection is really only needed if you want to get one of the profession achievements (although I managed to complete it without this mastery). Don’t worry about the last two unless you are just looking for a place to put experience.
The Forsaken thicket mastery line is useful only in raids and you can only unlock it by defeating a raid boss. So, don’t worry about it right away. Only worry about it if you get involved in Raiding.
The ancient magic mastery is only useful in Bloodstone fen (available after the new living story 3 part 1) So, you can work on it when you get there. However, that will be a little down the road.
Central Tyria
Advanced logistics for auto looting is pretty useful so you don’t have to take the time looting bodies. However, it will take you awhile since its at the top of this mastery line. So, its not necessary, just nice. Don’t worry about it too much.
The legendary crafting line is only useful if you want to craft a precursor or one of the new HoT legendary weapons. However, be warned, you may need to check around with the prices. Some precursors are actually cheaper to buy straight from the trading post than to craft yourself. They generally require A LOT of ascended crafting materials.
Based on your post, you are probably interested in the Fractal Mastery line. If so, this is were I would put all your central tyria experience until you finish the whole track. You will need to get the first two masteries to get your Agony resistance up higher. It is a lot easier to get your AR up higher with these masteries since they let you “attune” ascended rings, or add another infusion slot to them. Recursive Resourcing is also useful as you get more from chest of the Mists (I personally just saved my chests until I got this mastery and then opened them all at once). The last in the line isn’t really needed. However, it could come in handy depending on the fractal, tier level, and raid group. Basically, its like a one free life. However, you need to collect it in the fractal to use it. You will get to know the location of the mistlock singularities later.
also unlimited gliding is priceless
Thank you for completely missing my point.
I didnt miss your point, its just that you dont have a clue about statistic. Just because something is possible does not mean it will ever happen in the lifetime of the universe.
And 85 out of 91 is even more rare than 9 out of 91 because the chance of success is lower than the chance of failure.
“because it probably wouldnt happen means the op is a liar and it didnt happen” good logic.
you killed a beast at least. gg you
One of my teammates ACTUALLY left because of the DH stack.
After DH nerf DHs be like omfg Anet ruined DH it took me more then 2 seconds to kill someone….
If i could solo que to legend with DH with like a 80% win rate in season 2/season 3, I doubt I’ll care much if they nerf DH after season 4.
if you were able to do that with a dh through all those seasons then good job.
honestly i think most moa complaints are about engineer’s. i had a engineer moa me every fight of a game a week ago and cannot for the life of me figure out how he did it so often. also my char slots are maxed and cant make one to try it out
im ok with that as a DH, just drop necro health to the guardian base health, and buff guardian to warrior health.
Note: guardian has 10k HP base, and being heavy is like 10% damage reducing, the block are there to cover the health gap, since outside meditraper class dont make damage and dont have surviability.
Note: ive been using Spirit weapon against necros and ive tanked and won some, does that means Spirit weapon are op to?
my gaurdian using the meta build has 17k hp. which might as well be tripled considering all the blocks and heals. doesnt matter how low the hp is when you can block for a really long time.
No, that would add to the powercreep. The problem is that conditions do too much damage, and condition specs can stack conditions too easily, while also being tanky.
Sure that’s why most of the meta is power.
No spec should be able to apply powerful condition damage and then literally be able to run away while the damage ticks away. Or worse yet, the conditions continue to tick while CCed. Power specs are shut down from CC or being forced to run. Condition specs aren’t as much.
Well the difference with power spec is that when he runs away, the damage is already done. Also condi specs are shut down by cc: no application means no damage.
that and the reason necro is so bad is that you just apply a ton of pressure at the start and while they take 10 seconds to respawn you get to take the point.
You still on that DH phallus?
“only dh’s are balanced everything else needs a nerf”
GOOD THINKING
For a game where you might have to fight DH regularly, then unblockable gunflame power build is very effective. Typically condis are pretty ineffective vs DH and Scrapper as they have good condi clear and without taking high spike damage they also have good sustain.
do you have a link to it? i dont see it on metabattle.
Add channel to F3? Sure, just give us Warrior regen heals during it.
Actually, Warriors has everything to gain because being a Warrior means that everyone is against time as Wars keep getting stronger.
Lower the 2day long cd on F3 in addition to having Warrior like healing.
There we go.
show me a video of a warrior healing 17k in seconds and then well talk.
Video proof. Thief OP. Needs nerf.
Backstab to powerful.
Spammable Interrupts without end.
can fly
one hits guardians with shield up
can create too many minions.
wish my thief did this kind of damage.
using maceshield bow i feel like im hitting punching bags. they never die and if they are any good they kill me everytime. i can avoid their entire rotation and theyll have traps back up before i can get them to half health and dont even get me started on the healing.so can i get any tips to counter them? should i be running a power build or something?
(edited by abaddon.3290)
no no no no no no no no no no no
One ignores all the damage / condis you give it, the other has permanent evasions and constant stealth , both way op
for pve? are you mad or something?
Moa has always been in pvp it’s good couter to transformations if you remove a counter you also need to remove what it counters so if moa is removed I will call for removal of minions astral form death shroud lich form plague form rampage and tornado from pvp
And when we continue in this path eventually pvp will be place were we can test who has best autoattack
why is it a instant cast then when almost all elites take a second or 2?
go to your graphics options and turn the character models at the bottom to low on both settings there.
I want to be play the game on max settings, because I am able to. I don’t want to lower the graphics just because some players want to make the most obnoxious looking characters ever. I rather have an option that remove objects—backpacks in this case—that have started to destroy the awesome and beautiful appearance of the rest of the game.
Backpacks and flashier armours and effects were finer back in the older days (except for the humongous spell effects that were going on in combat) but now flash armours, visual infusions and obnoxiously big backpacks in form of wings have appeared far too much, and just destroys the general feeling of the game world.
then thats your problem. not anyone elses.
And he’s asking for ANet to give him a solution that would work better for him. It’s not like he’s asking for the backpacks he hates to be removed from the game. That would be absurd.
He’s just asking for some means to enjoy the high graphics settings without having to see the backpacks he doesn’t like for whatever reason.
And there are good reasons for there to be a hider. Jumping puzzles in areas with already bad camera angles. People who get literal headaches from a particular backpack. One of the backpacks is just incredibly ugly to them and it ruins their enjoyment of the game.
he does have a option all it does is make all players wear basic realistic armor that keeps immersion. “b-but muh max settings” what? do you like to sit in lions ark and brag about them or something?
That option only works in PvP. It doesn’t work for PvE.
If they do any sort of hide item feature it should be: hide all or hide none. That way no one can argue about what is too “flashy”, “big”, “immersion breaking” etc.
The easiest would be to give PvE the same thing as PvP. I’m also only arguing for it due to the objective reasons: large wings on large Charr, or even just large Charr, make it hard for others to do jumping puzzles when the camera angle is already bad. Not because large wings are out of place in the game.
“only works in pvp” so i can tell youve never used it. because thats false.
For one I have no idea why you are so aggressive against these options being added in, since they do not affect you in the slightest, and two the Standard Model option is only in competitive game mode which is sPvP, while you can lower the Character model quality, it does not remove Back items or weapons the last I checked so you see people running around in Grey default Armor with particle effects and giant back pieces still.
So I ask you why should other players be forced to look at your choices, and conform to what you want graphics wise? Why should they have to lower there game quality because of other players decisions on Armor/Items that provide nothing other than Display clutter and rob them of better performance on their machine?
they are already added in. im not aggressive here im simply stating you dont want to use them because “muh max settings” that only affects other players and puts them all in realistic armor everywhere. someone posted a screenshot of it. your asking to waste dev time on something thats already in the game.
No using the character model quality does not remove legendary armor or Backpieces or their particle effects, why should other players have to lower their gameplay experience because of people like you? The only place that Standar Models removes all Particle effects from items and back items/ Legendaries is PvP no where else.
“people like you” get out of this us vs them mentality. i dont even have a legendary item or insane backpiece.

Class stacking is a symptom of builds which are highly successful despite taking little skill to play.
Treat the cause, not the symptom.
treating the symptom will balance as a band aid for later. class stacking will always be a problem and there will always be easy builds.
go to your graphics options and turn the character models at the bottom to low on both settings there.
Y’all missed a basic point, well actually 2 points.
First, a system like the one you propose would not have attracted casuals to come try pvp. That was a major reason for the backpack or it was made a major reason.
Two, yes I just finished my Gift of the Competitor. No, I’ve never made “Legendary” rank. Still I put in insane hours, played classes I was uncomfortable with and won and improved my game from a 16% win rate at a low point in Season 2.
I earned the wings as much as or more than the people who rode stacked matches and win streaks to Legendary.
Really? Do you really think you “earned” them more than players that invested months and years in attempt to improve in pvp?
Yes, there were few that rode that lucky winstreak in s3 but there are also plenty of veterans and good players in generally (including pro league players), who were forced to carry bad players/casuals/pve’ers, that came for the carrot and who otherwise didn’t give a flying kitten about pvp and never bothered to actually improve or invest time into this mode. The wings are ruined for pvp’ers. After years, we still have nothing to show off with (except for pro league players – you can see them in world tourneys) nor actual goal/motivation to improve. The closest thing we had was old skill-based leaderboards from years ago. Since then pvp just became more and more casual and there is no way to tell who is good or who is bad anymore, until you actually see them action.
I got my wings in s2 because i can, then there is average Joe that never pvp’d till HoT also with wings, that he slowly but securely got in s4 thanks to all safe nets. How lovely.
Here is example for fractals: to get legendary fractal wings you need to complete lv 100 mai trin (which can be major pita if you are unexperienced or have crappy group). You have those wings, it means you completed lv 100 fractal. There is no way around it (unless you pay for carry, but it is different story). PvP wings? – maybe this person is a pvp’er or maybe this person just spammed queues for 4 seasons.
I really hope that devs hold their word and leagues will be more skill based next season. Surely, i might possibly not reach legend (who knows, i am by all means not amazing) but at least it will have value. And it will be motivation for pvp’ers to improve instead of just mindlessly spamming matches.
i highly doubt most the people at legendary invested months or years to get it.
There’s no counters to necro shroud.
Actually there is a counter to necro shroud: don’t let the necro get shroud. honestly if people expect that necro has no shroud when they just attack through spectral armor then that’s their fault.
That’s not really a counter. Necro has several unblockable attacks that give life force, as well as the fact that you’re asking people to just ignore you when you activate spectral armor, which can be difficult to spot in a big fight, just like moa casting.
ruining berzerker and completely killing any necro that goes against a mesmer.
There’s no counter to berserker mode BESIDES moa. You have perma stability, massive HP regen, and plenty of blocks and damage ignorance to go with it. A well-placed moa says “screw your passives” and reverses that. And moa can’t be spammed with any particular frequency either. It’s on a long cooldown.
As for necro, most of the time I see it being used against necro is when they enter shroud in order to not die when they’re being focused. Good necros stay far enough away from the fight to nuke without getting focused. Moa is pointless if the necro isn’t under any real threat.
And with celestial form, at least it helps counter the ridiculous heal-to-full and stealth skills they have.
I’d also like to point out that if you do get moa’d… you do have skills still. As soon as I get moa’d, I pop #5 because it’s an evade that lasts a significant length of the moa spell. And I still have evades…
The only time moa is a real threat is if you’re getting focused already — if you’re not in any particular danger, it really isn’t a threat.
because shroud is a ranged attack. yeah right….
why did you block out your skills?
That’s not true, the elite already worked for 3 second by denying your skills.
However aside me forcing to recognizing diferent kids of purple it gets even worse when the different kinds of purple starts to overlap. It’s really not that obvious.
So you’re saying you can’t play without your own sets of skills for 6 seconds even if you can survive perfectly well half of that duration? Then there isn’t really much to discuss here, clearly you have different priorities.
It’s really pointless to discuss your own subjective opinions on whether it is obvious when fact is the counters and animations are all there. Best to go to HotM and find the NPC mesmer there, he spams moa a lot. Sometimes even in stealth unlike meta mesmers
if it takes more than 6 seconds to kill any class thats not a tank when they cant do anything your doing it wrong.also i would like to point its a lot longer than 6 seconds when you consider what it does to people. ruining berzerker and completely killing any necro that goes against a mesmer.
as a person who plays multiple classes but mains a necro i highly disagree.EVEN GUARDIANS ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT THEM BEING OP.
I am not complaining, I can beat any symbol guardian/dh in like 30 sec with my normal traited DH (gs + lb). Guardian just cant complain of being op cause we got 1 buff in like 3 years and guardians are overwhelmed by it. Buffing is something strange to us.
gaurdians didnt really get much of a buff. everyone else got nerfed hard.
(edited by abaddon.3290)
If this constitutes criminal behaviour, use google to find how to report it outside of GW2. In the UK you can report it to the IWF for instance. Elsewhere you may need to report it to your local police force.
most places it isnt illegal but i wish i could see the look on the customer service’s face when he gets this
so lets summarize….guardian haters:
(aegis haters)
-thieves which have 10k dmg in 1 attack (backstab) and 7k in other attacks (HS, Vault)
- warriors which have 10k in 1 attack (eviscerate, decapitate) and 7-9k in other attacks (arc divider, arcing slice)I dont see any complaints from Druids, Scrappers, Reapers, Chronos, Eles, Revenants cause they pretty much negate traps and blocks and outsustain our dmg….
as a person who plays multiple classes but mains a necro i highly disagree.EVEN GUARDIANS ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT THEM BEING OP.
Oh no my “I win” button has a counter if I don’t happen to be dodge rolling or aegised or invulnerable when it lands
nice strawman
its not worth it at all imo. just get ascended and enjoy playing. now if after your full ascended and done everything and are bored? then you might consider making them.
thief is working on getting nerfed every balance patch til the game is over. i suggest finding another class unless you just absolutely love the thief. if thats the case stick to pvp as everyone will hate you for pve.
auric bason meta event. esp multilooting it.
Thieves can kill people without breaking stealth and channeled skills damage through stealth. You want to fix it? Remove stealth. Everybody happy.
you dont know much do you? ill admit i was wrong about it being a exploit but the second a thief attacks someone stealth is broken.
You were saying?
thats 2015. wouldnt work well nowadays

i like people defending a exploit here. let me guess you play rangers.
if you want easy flowing pvp? gaurdian. if you want decent pvp and really good pve? warrior
I wouldn’t be surprised a lot of people are playing them.
Since shortly after HoT launch Guardians saw 0 representation in high level tournaments and extremely small representation in higher level divisions.
Even in the mid-ranges people were throwing abuse around to anyone playing a Guardian because it was sub-par.Now that it’s actually been buffed to be equal to other professions and competitive of course people want to play their Guardian characters again!
There has been 8 months before July 26th when people didn’t want to play them, or others didn’t want you to play one.
ToF had an internal timer added and its duration reduced from 9s to 6s.
The initial trigger damage was reduced from 66% to 50%. Trap Dazes reduced by 50%.
PoB & Maw got a 25% cooldown nerf. True Shot damage was reduced by 20% in April.Just remember where community PvP perceptions were only months ago
guardians werent buffed much. every other class got major nerfs.
If you think you deserve compensation, prepare to be very dissapointed with your life, because thats not how anything in the world work.
im not expecting compensation nor do i want it but lets be honest. most mmos are down more because they are releasing code to fix bugs and such. anet doesnt exactly do that as often.
Were you trying to help balance Guardian when it was in the pits? ~.~
What do you find unbalanced about the current DH? The fact it can sustain itself? Finally kite…? Guardian still has its downsides. If enemies know not to step into a trap, it can really mess with a Guardian. I understand not every time a trap is placed it’ll be avoidable, but that just means they used a trap effectively. I do wish the trap play style could be replaced with something else, but that’s all AN has given us.
I just hope AN lets this blow over. In my eyes, right now Guardian is viable. Definitely not OP… If you really want to convince me Guardian is OP… Upload a video of yourself against a formidable DH or two… All of these screenshots people are posting don’t mean anything without any context backing them up
had a friend who mains a guardian decide he was gonna pick up his guardian again this season. switched to dh meta build and wrecked every game we went into. stomped enemy teams into the ground unless the entire team focused him. you see people queing up as dh so much there is 3 4 or even 5 in a game at a time. a “viable” class doesnt do this. a op class does. im not saying my friend is bad. im simply stating the class is so easy to play and do well that you dont even need skill to play it.i get it. gaurdian sucked in pvp for the longest time and your afraid of going back to that.but changes are needed.
It’s awesome, why would you want it to be gone. I mean if it slows any type of grind down for higher tier loot then I’m more than happy with it.
the only reason he wants it gone is because he wants the prices of ectos to go back up so he can make some major profit. its born of self interest. personally i dont care either way. if its nerfed ill find another way to farm constantly and make gold until someone else decides its a exploit and needs to be changed because reasons.
tl;dr-
“I don’t like it, therefore it is unfair and needs to be changed”tl;dr –
I’m taking advantage of this, so don’t you dare change it or call me a cheater.
calling people a cheater for multilooting is uncalled for and childish. i get you were trying to call him childish here but you just dropped to his level to do it.
Wrong. ANet’s decision on whether or when to make a change has no bearing on whether or not it is an exploit. An exploit is simply utilizing game mechanics in an unintended way. It doesn’t necessarily indicate that it must be “fixed”. Some exploits are rather minor and just become part of the way the game is played.
Again, there is no sound argument we can make to explain why they would have intentionally designed this one event so that players may participate once, and then receive the rewards multiple times. Thus it IS an exploit. Whether or not it needs to be fixed is entirely up to ANet.
so your argument is “if anet didnt intend it its a exploit” you do realize every class has mechanics anet didnt intend on it being used the way it is right? you know theres tons of these so called “exploits” by your definition. difference is this doesnt fit the actual definition of exploit. there is no unfair advantage. im sorry you want to sell your mats at a much higher price but we dont.
According to the all-knowing Wikipedia, an exploit is “the use of a bug or glitches, game system, rates, hit boxes, or speed, etc. by a player to their advantage in a manner not intended by the game’s designers.” There’s nothing in that about an ‘unfair advantage’ that you seem to have predicated your understanding of an exploit on… just an advantage unintended by the game’s designers.
Using multi-mapping to loot multiple times the rewards allocated for a single event definitely fits that definition of an exploit.
Just because some exploits aren’t given much priority to address, doesn’t make them any less an exploit. ANet has limited resources to allocate to a game that has a constant influx of bugs and exploits, and must triage where they allocate those resources.

P.S. Feel free to use some other definition of an exploit to defend your position if you will. I only used Wikipedia because it was an easy place to grab the quoted definition.
i wasnt quoting deffinitions i was quoting what the person said they thought a exploit was and anet’s deffinitions. wikipedia has no place in this atm.
this whole post is just a slander campaign that isnt working.
