the way they check data is by seeing who all plays a char. feedback is mostly irrelevant as every class calls one another op and themselves up. a ton of people play necro. which means its not useless and deff not up. just not op anymore.until that population drops dont expect any buffs.

I stand corrected, but as far as I know, they only go into Ascended trinkets. I do not know if since the patch they can be applied to armor as well. You can buy the ascended trinkets from a WvW laurel vendor.

If you are talking about whether you need to activate them once it is needed, you don’t. They work similar to armor, it is just a stat that blocks agony given to you. If you are talking about how to obtain them, well you can buy them off the TP at quite expensive prices, or you can wait for them to drop from the fractals themselves

ive got some 1’s but they wont go in any slot i have atm. i have a ascended necklace and thats it. would i need ascnended gear to put them in my gear so i can do 25 fractals?

as i go up in fractals i know ill need them but not sure how to use them?

If your character wears a chainmail bra you have just as much chance to stay alive as someone wearing a full suit of armor that covers their entire body. This game is called “Fashion Wars” for a reason. As in, most of what people do is get outfits, dress up, and try to look good.

Let people dress their characters how they like. It’s not hurting anyone if they dress them in slightly less clothing than something you would put on your character. There are a LOT of clothes that cover the entire body in this game, but not a lot of clothes for the people who like to wear less on their characters unless you’re a light armor female.

Swimsuits will be a welcome addition to Fashion Wars, I think. I wish other people would try to stop putting their “morals” and “how women feel about armor” on everyone as if they speak for everyone in the entire world. Swimsuits are fine, they are no less immersion breaking, as someone said, than a giant cat with Macaw wings and purple hair in rainbow colored armor.

Oh and for the person who says this is “not an RP’ing game,” it totally is. There are lots of Rp’ers on here, they hang out in the hot springs and take off their armor, I know because I’ve been in RP guilds before. So, yes, this IS an RP game. Sorry

agreed. i played neverwinter which for me was a pvp heavy game. even in gw2 im really into pvp. i used to not care about looking good then i made a friend who did pvp and did it and i just started liking it a lot. usually my characters would look good too. i loved it. i love it here also. looking good and kitten is just fun!

GW2 is an MMO game that was built around a PVE storyline. PvP always was a by-product of it. It’s not a game that was made 100% for PvP like a Moba, Streetfighter, or some FPS game.

I personally think GW2 has the best PvP combat across all the MMOs to date. You should compare it to other MMOs instead of Halo or else you’ll be utterly dissapointed.

neverwinter in my opinion had a much better combat system. not having to hold down a button just to move your camera is amazing. more dodges means faster moving combat that lasts longer.mouse click is attacks also. aiming matters. gw2 its all auto aim. neverwinter sadly was a F2P and P2W like no other. they ruined it as time went on.

There are 2 major issues with going the “just close some servers” route.

1. This “population problem” is only a wvw problem.

2. It creates the public perception that the entire game is dying.

I personally feel that going a 3 sided route, when you zone into wvw, would look and be the best option. This keeps individual servers preserved for the rest of the game and allows the devs to use individual server linking to combat wvw population imbalances.

Another option would be to rebrand the game to 3 “faction” servers, but that is tricker to balance populations for wvw.

Edit- Just some thoughts and basic maths to think about…

In October of last year the monthly concurrency rates jumped to 3,000,000 players, and I’m assuming only US and EU were counted for that figure.

There are 51 servers combined from US and EU, so that would be roughly 59,000 players per server in the wonderful world of averages.

If you think about the above numbers and then look at the wvw population, you’ll see just how poor participation rates are for wvw as a whole… So the devs either need to condense populations in wvw only and/or put some major reward carrots on sticks like paths to legendary weapons, legendary armors, legendary trinkets, legendary runes and sigils and infusions… to make wvw extremely attractive to everyone and to keep them playing.

I don’t recall if it’s free only once. It certainly isn’t free all the time so it’s likely that you do get a free transfer for the first timers

alright thank you. i talked to a friend who said i didnt need to transfer. i did it anyway but still nice to know. i dont mind dropping money on this game. so if i want to do it later im fine with it costing. the devs deserve it.

difficulty in general. this game needs tanks. neverwinter fixed their easy mode by making everything in dungeons one shot anything thats not a tank. it required the traditional roles again. which is needed for teamwork.

move that does 15 million damage but has a cooldown of 48 hours. not usable in pvp.

If GW2 lost it’s shine, go play one of the newer F2P MMOs. GW2 shines up pretty quickly.

People don’t appreciate what you have until you lose it. I’ve been trying out that new F2P MMO and you will quickly appreciate Dynamic Events, simplified systems, an uncluttered UI You miss the larger zones in GW2, the lack of popup players around you, the standing in queue to cash in certain types of loot. Then of course the game’s “it’s not a subscription” perks like not paying for using certain features, like mail delivery that F2P must bare.

But of course some people don’t like simplicity in their games and that MMO may be for them. But once the Twitch streamers I follow stop playing when their paid to play on stream deals elapse, I doubt I would continue to play it. I’ll just add it to my list of MMOs I keep up to date on a weekly basis because I have minimal broadband and it’s easier in the long run to keep it installed and updated that downloading it from scratch all over again.

GW2 is easy and fun for me. Looks good enough even without nostril size sliders.

the thing i like most about gw2 {coming from wow} is that i dont have 1-0 plus mouse buttons and shift+1-0 as skills you need to use. its so many buttons it makes gameplay suck plus no dodge button.

g2a sells it for less than 30$ just saying. its where i got myne.

The complaints I have seen are often identical to the hate given to core tyria, season 1 and season 2 over the last 3 years, they’re just re-directed at the expac.

I’m not saying your opinion of it being a failure is invalid, I’m just not understanding your criteria. It did provide greater challenge – better ai, harder mobs, group events, raids – all specifically asked for by the community.

Better rewards is more tricky. The rng is still a bit of a plague, but improved collections, raid exclusives, precursor crafting, new mats which sell strongly on the tp, improved map rewards, all point to an improved direction. Not perhaps where many want, but not necessarily a huge failure either.

If you don’t find it fun, well that’s a subjective thing. Not sure I can say anything to the contrary to make you think otherwise – you are entitled not to enjoy it of course. I happen to find it massively good fun in most areas important to me personally.

What timers are broken by the way? I agree the DS mechanic is a bit silly, but what else?

there is 3 options for the devs they can keep rng and keep people busy playing and delaying the whining of no content or get rid of rng and everyone whines about being done with content OR work 24/7 have no friends or family time or free time and make a ton of content that will be complained about continuously. they cannot win here.

Hahaha there are a lot of ways you can go. Here is mine:

Start by unlocking Signet of the Locust so you can run faster. Shoot for Signet of Spite next for a damage increase.

For your trait line, first choose Blood Magic if you like the Dagger. It gives you health drain traits which work solo as well as on your minions and later your party members. It also gives you enhanced Wells if you want additional spike damage. Lastly, it’s second adept skill gives you perma swift as long as you’re using a dagger in your main hand.

Eventually I would also get your Death Magic and Spite specs trained, as well as your minion and well utility skills.

A very good build is simply using Dagger/Warhorn with a Blood Fiend for your heal, Signet of Spite, two damaging Well Skills, and the Flesh Golem. Blood magic, Death Magic, and Spite traits. Use a staff or Axe/Focus for ranged. This gives you good damage and sustain as well as some party support from Vampiric Aura.

Take the same build into Reaper spec by replacing Dea Magic with Reaper and using the greatsword as your alt weapon. Easy peasy.

Gear-wise, you can definitely swing Berserker, but Soldier’s Gear makes Necros seriously tanky.

For PVE, stack power and grab a dagger. Press 1 to win.

Get the two damaging wells and pop those against multiple targets.

Warhorn 5 for mobility, keep that up. Get spectral walk for perma swiftness with warhorn 5.

Get lich form if you want more PVE power, or flesh golem for a slightly disturbing friend in casual pve stuff.

Get the healing signet and use it as needed, comboing with dagger 2 for a huge heal.

Shroud when you feel there’s too many enemies and your wells are on CD, 5 and 4 while kiting and spam 1.

It gets pretty repetitive, real quick.

No longer needed, just open your trait menu and change them as you wish. However, you cannot ‘unlearn’ learned traits. Meaning, once you use hero points to buy them, you keep them.
