What should I do before this event ends?

Seeing as the newest update isn’t annoying, you can do the event and farm up those spinal blades in LA. The music is great, the atmosphere is great, events are normal but the main event with the knights and hologram are awesome
I think you should try your builds in solo join instead of the 8v8s. People want to just finish dailies i.e. player kill and cap and games played. Non of the dailies have anything about winning unless it’s solo arena/team areana.
If you want sPvP I’d use manudiao’s first build. If you want WvW I’d use his second one. Though I’d certainly use hammer in there for the blasts when commanders call for it. I’d only have staff when you’re on the move, switch for combat to have GS and Hammer. You most likely won’t even need the staff if you’re zerging since there will be plenty of electric fields to blast with your hammer.
You could be like the best friend in the world and give him the $10 to transfer.
Sylvari’s Venturi code’s are basically King Arthur’s codes of chivalry. What better class to be than a guardian for that race.
I knew the Sylvari were going to be my favorite race before the game even launched. I was a GW1 player and was really excited when I found out they were doing GW2 and watched it very closely. Fell in love when the announced the Sylvari and the trailer they had with Ree I was sold.
I came for the innuendo…
Are you… talking… about something else?… o.O
Whenever it’s asking you to travel, the message is prompting you to travel to wherever you are qued. If you’re in an overflow you’re automatically qued to go back to your home world. It would never send you to another overflow.
Love this idea. Though keep the reset simple and make it the same as new dailies. That way I can play some of my favorite zones each day and go through the multiple worlds (mostly Maguuma… love me some Maguuma)
pownguin and BrunoBRS clearly didn’t have their tinfoil hat on while reading this >_<
Just don’t try joining groups advertising speed clears, if you don’t have full berserker you’ll probably get booted.
I can’t wait for the day when that’s not the case. It’s literally one of the only reasons I got Beserker gear (and also I feel taking more dmg in lower level zones makes it a bit more fun haha). IDK maybe that will always be the case for speed clears.
Good luck and have fun
GS, Staff, and Hammer are great WvW Weapons. Staff works great with both weapons and helps yourself and allies with the number 4 and the CC from 5. The hammer is great for it’s on command blast and protection. Also the CC’s it has are fantastic. GS also has decent CC, mobility, blind AoE, and the whirl is great for Condition removal for surrounding allies with your light field. My preference in WvW is GS and Hammer. I say if you really want to stop a zerg, either running to you or from you, you probably would prefer staff for it’s #5 and the hammer for it’s #3 and #5.
As far as armor I think a good Mix of PVT and Knights is great. It is not terrible with dmg but great for survivability. It will definitely be able to stand and take some trash hits. Regardless of full tank or glass cannon you should always learn to dodge the big attacks. Beserkers will most definitely make you squishy, without a doubt. Not knocking beserkers (as that’s what I use for general PvE and easy dungeons). But if being squishy is what you want to avoid, that’s the same thing as avoiding beserkers.
Your assumptions on armors are all pretty spot on. I’d definitely have multiple armor sets for WvW and PvE. Beserks for PvE as it’s pretty simple and playing smart will keep you from getting killed while dishing out big dmg. Do the PVT/Knight mix for WvW so you can have high dmg and toughness while keeping decent crit chance and vitality. That will help you be on the front lines and charge into zergs during the big fights.
For a build, Consecrations are great for Dungeons, Fractals, and WvW. pretty much everything on the guardian is fun for general PvE (I personally run Shouts which kind of work as well in dungeons with switching between hollowed ground or WoR).
As far as AoE from carts. Without dumping WvW points into the defensive line from sieges, only more toughness and vitality will help you take the hit… Honestly you’re just going to have to try and stay out of the red circles. If it’s an upgraded AC with someone speced into it there’s really no help any armor can bring, so instead of seeing if they are upgraded or speced into it, always just try to avoid it if you can. If you’re at a wall and trying to ram or trying to protect the rammers, best thing you can do is just bring a hammer and blast those waterfields.
IDK if that helps but that’s just another opinion to think about =) Hope I helped a little.

I’m just going to throw this out there, a Sylvari Female Elementalist looks AMAZING in the 350 (I think 350) Tailor rare armor. It Might be the one before that .It’s the one with the fairy wings and the hood. Completely amazing.
Tuomir will have non of your nonsense. He will smite thee with all his condescending tone.
You’re absolutely right but your last sentence in your first post and your first sentence in your second post was not necessary =/. Please be pleasant and respectful.
Guardians I think are by far the most forgiving class for PvE and leveling.
Also their soldiers with magic… that’s a win right there. Obvious choice is Guardian
If this is true they could be similar to the Orks of Warhammer 40k…
WAAAGH!
I’m da hand of Gork and Mork, dey sent me to rouse up da boyz to crush and kill ‘cos da boyz forgot what dere ‘ere for. I woz one of da boyz till da godz smashed me in da ‘ead an’ I ‘membered dat Orks is meant to conquer and make slaves of everyfing they don’t kill.
I’m da profit of da Waaagh an’ whole worlds burn in my boot prints. On Armour-Geddem, I led da boyz through da fire deserts and smashed da humies’ metal cities to scrap. I fought Yarik, old one-eye at Tarturus, an’ he fought good but we smashed iz city too.
I’m death to anyfing dat walks or crawls, where I go nothin’ stands in my way. We crushed da stunties on Golgotha, an’ we caught old one-eye when da speed freeks blew da humies’ big tanks ta bits. I let ‘im go ‘cause good enemies iz ‘ard to find, an Orks need enemies ta fight like they need meat ta eat an’ grog ta drink.
I iz more cunnin’ than a grot an’ more killy than a dread, da boyz dat follow me can’t be beat. On kitten enah we jumped da marine-boyz an’ our bosspoles was covered in da helmets we took from da dead ‘uns. We burned dere port an’ killed dere bosses an’ left nothin’ but ruins behind. I’m Warlord Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka an’ I speak wiv da word of da gods. We iz gonna stomp da ‘ooniverse flat an’ kill anyfing that fights back. We iz gonna do this coz’ we’re Orks an’ we was made ta fight an’ win!
-Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka
WAAAAAGGGGHHHHH
We’z da shootiest
It’s just one of the easiest places to get your dailies. There are always champions, Veterans, Group events, and normal events going on. It’s easy to get 15 kill variety, and has a kitten ton of ambient critters. It has it’s own crafting and it even has it’s own chest boss. It’s just like that jack of all trades but a master of none.
I was actually thinking the same thing. I love the first portions of everyone’s stories and also when you chose an order and joining it.
I kind of wish there was just more of it. I thought the story was a little short.
That might be a little much though making the same amount of content for a single player game in a MMO while still keeping the MMO side full.
I agree that the earlier levels were definitely a lot of fun with your companions and characters. It also felt like my choices mattered more from character creation. It was like your character was the same character once you started your “Vigil,Priory,Whispers” events no matter what your choices were (Though I still liked the quests from them). Then during the last part with the invasion of Orr you’re basically just taken for the ride.
I mean overall I did like it. I thought the Missions from GW1 were a little more filled out in both content and story but this wasn’t completely far out there.
If anything it would have been a really good feature for different NPC to treat you differently depending on your choices in the open world. I think that would’ve been an awesome feature. Like even with the voting we just had if the proponents of one side treated you nicely while the opposition would treat you nasty. We’ll see what happens
OP, this is was initially a fantastic post until it went to the crapper very quickly. I was excited to see what people would respond… but they kind of didn’t at all >_>. I primarily play Guardian in the zerg (commando style charging into zergs w00t w00t blasting hammer for le might or swiftness).
I actually respect theives a lot who don’t go with the zerg. They do the work everyone else neglects. Scouts are incredibly important to the zerg. Lets ally zerg know where to go. Killing enemy scouts is incredibly important. Keeps enemy zergs in the dark to your troop movements. Keeping Keep Waypoints contested makes it easier to siege other towers/ keeps without quick reinforcements (or just general harassment). Cutting people off from the zerg or preventing people from picking up supply from camps is amazing in slowing down zergs attempts at towers or keeps.
I know it sucks to be the victim but people behind the scenes being sneaky and cutthroat are also very necessary in war. It may not be as glorious as say a Knight in Shining armor rallying the troops to victor but it’s definitely beneficial to the troops. Thieves need less hate and more praise for doing the “dirty work”.

An elite signet would indeed be cool. I’d also like an elite where we summon all of our spirit weapons at the same time. I don’t know if it’d be balanced or useful, all that I do know is that it would look awesome..
EDIT:
Signet passive: gives buffs relating to spirit weapons.
Activating signet: summon all spirit weapons.
That is an awesome Idea. I’d love spirit weapon elites. Would work well with radiance having both Spirit weapon and signet traits. Maybe if the signet buffed their suitability too. Spirit weapons need some love <3
Trying to learn positioning. I’m still in that Guardian mind set a lot of the times where I jump in going “Don’t give a D#$% don’t give a F#$%” lol. I’m trying to kind of keep that same mindset but use it with the Thief. That’s kind of the best build I can come up with
Like the title says I’ve just started really getting into my Thief. Last week he was 16 and now he’s 41. I’m trying to think of a good build to get into once he reaches level 80. Currently I have 20 in acrobatics using Power of Inertia (II) and Vigorous Recovery (III), and 11 Trickery (III) Catchable. (I’m debating on droping Power of Inertia for Quick Recovery IX)
This is the build I’m thinking about using at 80. http://tinyurl.com/ojl5bwo
The Gear is debatable.
Only reason for the celestial is because I still want to keep the Crit Dmg and I’m just a bit iffy as with my stats as my main (Guardian http://tinyurl.com/oyfmzz6) has a lot more health and armor and the power and crit chance is comparable. I’m just trying to get the toughness out of the teen’s and my health further away from 13k. I’m just not used to seeing such low numbers for health and toughness <_<. I’m assuming with the amount of dodges I’m trying to work on (and the evades) I won’t need that much. It’s just even when I tried to apply “Full tank” (cough cough not really, only Knights with the Soldier trinkets) it didn’t come that close. I’d definitely rather more glass cannon with Theif though because it’s ridiculously fun.
Long story short (too late) do you think with the Endurance return, and the easy access to vigor, and the evades, would this build do well in general PvE (and maybe just for fun dungeon runs) for survival. Thanks in advance guys.
“Look to the skies” was our hint from the developers, fyi…
A second moon/planet in the sky getting larger/closer each day that slowly fills the majority of the sky.
So Majora’s Mask? xd
My human just goes “Pet down!”… I kind of wish I was more like the sylvari in that case =/. It just sounds “matter of fact” in battle.
You can try and use this one. It uses both Sword+focus and GS (I know it doesn’t use mace or focus >_> sorry) But it’s what I use. I feel meaty and I’m able to deal a good amount of damage. Especially with the stacking of vulnerability once enemies start dropping and the might you gain at the same time.
I say they’d be much better when it comes to smaller groups. If you’re in the zerg I’d switch to the mass invisbility or time warp, depending on what the commander needs.
I actually like Trahearne but I think this would be an awesome idea. That whole “Beware that, when fighting monsters, you yourself do not become a monster… for when you gaze long into the abyss. The abyss gazes also into you.”
Sometimes the greatest villains were the ones who were among the greatest heroes.
Right now I’m currently running this build for PvE is http://tinyurl.com/ppemvut
The equipment (and food when I have the money to stock up) I’m striving for is http://tinyurl.com/mwwy2vo
The Build is designed to apply as much blind as possible causing vulnerability, with trait Blind Exposure, with the constant refreshing of your Virtue of Justice and your weapons skills on your Great Sword (#3 ability), Sword (#2 ability) and Focus (#4 ability).
Also the build is designed to stack as much might as you can with Superior Sigil of Strength, Empowering Might, and Inspired Virtues.
This is essentially a snowballing effect where my damage increases and the foes armor decreases over time.
Also with Altruistic Healing the constant application from your mights well give you decent sustain, and with your shouts (especially in a group) you can get a decent small heal out of them.
A good tip for your vulnerabilities is that when a blind is applied it gives out the condition to surrounding enemies (small radius). So using your Great Sword #3 which does a AoE blast when it hits causing blind to surrounding enemies, it will actually stack the vulnerability (ie if there is 5 targets and you hit them with your #3, that’s 15 stacks of vulnerability in 1 hit). So I try to find big groups a lot and dive right into the action.
I stack Power and Toughness as my two main stats with vitality and precision 2nd.
It’s tanky, and it hits like a truck. It has decent mobility, condition removal, and support with your shouts.
This is literally my favorite build leveling, and now my favorite build roaming and even in dungeons and WvW it kicks butt. Once I hit 40 and was able to put 15 into Radiance, 10 into Honor, and 5 into Virtues, I felt like I can handle everything.
Only down side (for me) is that there is no such thing as a good looking focus so sometimes I lose a blind skill by switching to shield because the Guild Tower just looks too awesome.
I’m not sure how much it would help switching the Soldier options with Cleric for more sustain but less health. I’m not sure if that is better survival or not.

Obviously it will have to have a different name but the skin is definitely a good idea to have. It would be nice to see a lot more sylvari-type weapons from the mystic forge.
I love the shouts so I run Save Yourself, Stand Your Ground, and Hold The Line
I have 3 Sylvari, Male Guardian uses Male Face #1, Male Theif uses Male Face #2, Female Engineer uses Female Face #2
The moment I found out about the Sylvari and the Guardian I knew they were a perfect fit. The Sylvari are about the Ventari code which is very King Arthur and the Knights of the Round table. The Guardian is the closest to the Knights I would think to the Knights of the round table (all about being protective and their virtues). Definitely an awesome fit. Go Guardian =).
