[CDS] – Sanctum of Rall
i think Battle Presence is bugged in a sense where your party will still get the passive, even thuogh you might not. ceratinly a good choice in dungeons if you’ve high healing, etc.
on scepter – it is rather boring gameplay if you’re just AA-ing away. perhaps the scepter as a whole could be reworked. though i will say, scepter does VERY high single-target damage. so against bosses, i don’t find it being particularly harmful. though against groups of mobs, perhaps not the best idea. at least in sPvP, the scepter torch set up can do a LOT of damage. : )))
and in regards to support – not all Guardians are built for pure support. though i will argue that no matter hwo you build, there will be some elements of support regardless, though some builds can entirely minimize that aspect. but if you’re saying Guardians you grouped with, claim to be support, then display the above mentioend actions, oh wells. : ))
:OO get better soon, buddy. flying sick is never any fun. : (( praying for yer health.
no need for sorries. am sure we can all wait.
yea the addition of defend / assault points would be good. i do those through normal play as well. perhaps, it could be capture/defend/assault say.. 15 points? though i feel 10 is enough as well.
tried it out last night. joined a 10v10 match. no special conditions.. and it was pretty fun i felt. given.. lot of “zerging” going on.. but it’s not to say you can just hit 1111111 and come out victorious.
our team was doing pretty good most of the time. on one map we were down about 350 sth to 400-ish on Forest.. then a few more vocal Team members started to call strategies out. “stick together” (yes yes, i know.. XDD), “x enemies here, go cap x!”, “creatures up in 20s, standby and take both of them”, etc etc etc to name a few. and we actually came out on top that game at the very end, super close game. but it worked.
of course, this is just one instance as well. but i guess i want to say it’s not ALL bad….
huh, wonder why i didn’t think of this! with the increased efforts to get the PvP daily, i too would like to see increased rewards. just slightly if anything. to be honest, idon’t really mind.. BUT it would be more than welcome if they were to up the rewards : )) not asking for anything out of line.
where’s my loaf of bread!??
that’s pretty neat though. just makes me wonder how much more we’ll be able to do when custom areans get even moer fleshed out!
hey Emily! i had a similar problem when i first entered dungeons as my Guard lol. though i feel with dungeons, you need to know as much about the dungeons, each encoutner, the mechanics as much as you need to know about the Guardian class. or any class you decide to take into any given dungeon.
when you practice more and learn more, you’ll find yourself changing traits and weapons halfway through the dungeons to best equip yourself for each encounter. though to be honest, it’s not entierly necessary : )) but the Guardian’s set up allows us to do so.
a good youtube channel to check out would be Strife’s youtube channel. he covers most dungeons on his Guard (who he started out with iirc), as well as Warrior and now Mesmer. note that he and his group do speed runs, but he does explain each encounter quite nicely.
and lastly, to be honest, you can play any role in dungeons. i can’t speak for high level fractals yet since that seems to be a different beast in itself… don’t let other people dictate how you should play as a Guardian. it’ll be hard for people to get out of their mindset that Guardians are supposed to only, well, guard and support and heal. we can do anything from being extremely survivable, to being extremely DPS-sy. but if you know you want to do support as much as you can, go that route. : ))
same for WvW. i started off as being mainly hybrid.. decent damage, pretty darn good survivability. then i went the more DPS route. less forgiving in terms of making mistakes but i killed a LOT faster. and most people don’t expect a Guard to be able to hit that hard. then now i’ve been exploring being more supportive as well.
some weapons to note – mace / shield is a nice supportive combo. staff needless to say. hammer is pertty good too. but to be honest, all weapons would work because i feel the Guardian has so many innate supportive abilities that we’d have to try hard to NOT passively support our allies. with that in mind though, you can definitely build for that. shouts for example, consecrations, area blinds, area denial, area control, healing symbols, knockbacks pulls to take off focus fire from your enemies, etc… am sure you know all about this already.
regards to the Guardians low health.. it’s due to the damage mitagation skills we have and also the ability outheal any damage we take. obviously, you’ll still want to recognize and avoid the big hits or focus fire. acuse that’ll kill anyone. XDD
if you wanna talk more, i’d be more than willing to help and we can go through some builds even. good luck!
@Hicci – i just started playing scepter torch i PvP as well.
pretty darn fun. but agreed, projectile speed i sth i’d want to see changed. i feel as of now, scepter is pertty consistent at hitting around the.. 300-600 range, lol. ://
good luck swiftpaw! let us know how it goes. : )) just by way of background, i used to strictly run AH. and i still do depending on the build.. but the Guard has a lot of built-in damage mitigation already so you’ll just be playing that up a bit more and even mroe pro-actively without the steady stream of healing that you might be used to.
again, i’m no expert at high level fractals but i was just running mace shield last night (testnig out the new skins) and even in PvE it’s been quite fun. definitely very effective, still hits hard and you’ll be able to provide some sustenance, like you said, with the mace and shield. you have access to regen / heals / knockbacks / block / protection from just that weapon set all of which actually help deal dmg as well (apart from shield push i guess).
i guess one thing to note, if you have a group you’re running with and if you DO use VOiP, let peolpe know when you’re using the AoE knockback, since you did mention in PvE, you generally want to keep mobs tied together.
but even then, you can use the knockback to ur advantage. so last night for e.g. i was just doing the Braham living story (given this is pretty easy stuff), so we were two manning it up. if some mobs were after Braham, some after me and they were scattered, i’d position myself so i would knock those around me to where Braham’s was (line them up so they get pushed back together in the same general direction).. and in essence, grouping the mobs together. then you drop symbols, protector’s strike, smash away. i felt it was quite effective actually.
just thinking off top my head, if you need a bit of breathing room for you and party, drop symbol of faith, hit shield 5 twice, so you get the AoE knockback + interupts + a heal.. then hit Esc to cancel the rooted animation (of course, given you don’t need projectile protection), then switch so GS, binding blade, drop symbol of wrath, let GS 5 tick once or twice more, pull them in (so essentialyl two interupts in short succession), GS leap if u want for more retal and AoE blind is always nice + it’ll add a ton of vuln to them if you have a bunch of mobs aorund you, whirl and watch the number tick
D

doode, Harbinger, i have to say, i can tell a LOT of work went into this, and i must say… that i love yuor new stats spread compared to before. don’t get me wrong, that was awesome as well but you’ve got GREAT ground covered here. i too, try to stay above 3k 3k but in your case, yuo have high enough healing power, barely shrot of 1k, so lower armor i feel is alright, and your health is not SUPER high, but good to survive some conditions or burst if need be. and then the CRIT CHANCE AND DMG!!! moer than makes up for the slight drop in attack. and tbh, 2.9k vs 3k, with those crit ratings, it won’t matter much.
that is pretty darn awesome. : ))) so, well done good sir, well done.
you’ve set the bar higher and i shall try to revamp again ; )) heh. i have similar ratings for oen of my builds, cept if i want to bring up my healnig, i’m gonna have to revamp quite a bit too lol
i have various builds, and i sort of have a LOT of fun with my staff when i’m running a high power/crit/critdmg build.. cause the staff covers so much ground it can do massive dmg actually!! and tie in with dropping s ymbol on mobs that don’t move or rooted enemies, throw in empower for the 12 might stacks = 400+ power.. and you can kill thigns decently fast.
D it’s great for putting pressure on a group of enemies.
though needless to say, it’s amazing with it’s support utilities as well! so really depends how you want to play : ))
and with regards to healing power – i personally have a threshold of about 1k healing power for me to directly invest into it. meaning, i don’t mind having any amount of healing power if i’m not actively giving sth else up for it. so if i do deliberately choose a piece of gear, whether it be runes, sigils, weapons, jewelry with healing power, i aim to go above 1k.
i actually kind of like berserker for staff. lol but maybe that’s just me. : ))
hmm, i like playing with builds and coming up with stuff. i’ll try to put something together real quick, or maybe even a few examples after i come back frmo lunch.
ni the meantime, lot of great threads about there about builds and you can check them out too! most of them also do a great job of explaining how the build works as well and not just giving you a stat spread.
[edit]
and oh, by PvP, do you mean WvW? or sPvP?
here are a few builds i’ve super quickly put together with a brief description. you can test ‘em out and see if you enjoy them. and of course, mix and match anything you want to get to where you need to be! do note, these are not min/maxed stats if you’re into that sort of thing.. but it’s friday afternoon, rainy outside and i am getting sleepy after lunch lol XDD if you do want to discuss further though, i’d eb more than happy to try to help!
Since you mentioned you’re gonan be helping a lot of other players, i’d recommend maybe trying this build first. pretty standard, survivable, but by no means do you hit softly.
i’ve left 10 points up to you where to put ’em.
i’ve slotted soldier runes so you’re pretty “tanky”. so obviously shouts are a clear choice here – each shout will remove 1 conditino and convert 1 to a boon with Soldier rune set 6th piece bonus and Pure of Voice trait.
altenatively, for runes you could go 2x Water 2x Monk and then 2x Major Sanctuary or 2x any protection runes or anything else you want. boon duration is pretty strong in a group setting and as a Guard, you have access to a ton of boons. if you are goign this route, i’d suggest the last 10 in virtues.
once you get used to this you can start slotting in even more berserker stats or try out different builds.
for e.g. this next one is slightly more DPS focused, though not to the point of the build Guanglai listed above, which would hit even harder. i played this in WvW for a bit and you do pretty nice damage. though you’ll have to be on your toes a bit more. and i actually feel meditations and Monk’s Focus works ebtter so feel free to go that route (Monk’s Focus heals you for a decent chunk each time you use a meditation). though in dungeon setting, if you’re looking to have some “passive” support to your goup, shouts are always good. have tried this abit in dungeons as well and i definitely kill faster, so ultimately, more support in the form of alleviating your allies of dmg from mobs.
more than enough armor, more than enough health and use your blocks, blinds, heals and dodges at teh right time, you’ll be more than fine. you can even take Signet of Judgment for some extra dmg mitigation. you can definitely switch up the runes for even more crit chance / damage or power for more damage. ruby orbs are easily the best choices for straight up damage (and they’re a lot cheaper lol).
alrighty don’t want this to get TOO long.. so i’ll leave it at that for now. there are still a ton more builds that you can explore. check all the traits, all the weapon skills, rune sets, etc and try to find something that works for you. i have about 7 builds lol (in terms of gear sets) and i still constatntly change trait distribution around and stuff. going from full healing —> bunkerish play --> raw DPS —> high crit buils.. lsit goes on. : ))) hope this was somewhat helpful!
(edited by akamon.2769)
heh, gotta say i love it when those retal dmg numbers pop! i go “woot woot” in my head errtime i see one jump up on the screen!
am i the only one that thinks Smite —→ symbol could be OP? don’t get me wrong though, i would LOVE IT and play the scepter almost all the time. it’s actually one of my favorite weapons (okay, tbh, there’s not one Guard weapon i don’t like) and i may be missing the point with this, but i get very in your face with the scepter. i use it like it’s melee. and then immo to close in, OR, get away if i need some breathing room.
so hearing this makes me even happier. faster speed could easily fix the problem. i do hope they don’t touch the damage component though. because it is pretty darn decent.
ah, thinking agani, YES TO SYMBOL on #2 PLS. then they ought to add a symbol onto the sword as well
but i’ll leave this thread about the scepter
i know a Guard who uses rampagers! and they’re quite effective with it. sadly, we don’t HUGELY benefit from the condition dmg.. but at the same time, it still works.
but to a certain degree i agree, since that’s only one example of someone “breaking the mould”. at the same time, do you think with too much customibility can be a bad thing? i’m relatively new to PvP (still rank 13, 14-ish) but it’s pretty much most of what i do now… didn’t they choose more “standardized” gearing options to streamline it? so it IS more about skill >>> gear?
though at the same time, build diversity should definitely be more promoted.
i have noticed more people in tPvP multi-capping a point in some PUGs, etc. stuff like that?
Jang, thanks for your message. am sure it’s much appreciated by many. hope your decision has served you and your mates well! when i get back on WvW, i hope to run into you guys as i’ve heard nothing but good things. or rather, i phase out the bad unless if i’ve experienced it first hand.
again, it saddens me to hear that people from SoR badmouthed you. that’s unfortunate but i know you will find plenty great SoR players on the field, as well as JQ and BG players. good luck! and most importantly have fun.
aja aja hwa-ii-ting!!
GG BG “if” you win. =)
We’ll try to keep making it not so easy on ya this week though. Competition prevents stale wvw and there has been some fantastic fights this week.
In before SoR has an amazing community post…
but we really do!
should yuo want to be our guest, i shall be your humble host. XDDD
i like the skins. i bought two maces and one shield. might get another shield.
though i will agree, the tooltip was a bit misleading. it should just state it’s a one time use. knowing how skins work, i read it as, “you can use this anytime after you purchase it and don’t need to use it right away” kind of thing. but still single-use only.
ANet, perhaps look into this to ensure no more hiccups like this in the past.
i would like to know as well!
and is it confirmed that we can get them now from BLC? i don’t want to open any until i know lol. XDDD
i certainly don’t mind it. : ))
and you seemed to have neglected the fact that there is a ton of content (including cosmetic items) being poured out into the game, in-game, through playnig the game as well.
:DDD stocking up as we speak! lol (which exchange rate has gone nuts already)
and a ton more other stuff on the reddit thread!
please don’t touch staff. staff 1 AoE is amazing. even without super high crit, you actually do alot of damage Staff 2 could be changed, but it’s pretty amazing as is. staff 5 is one of the best skills in the game. you can knocksomeone down by just placing it on top of them. watch them stubmle again as they try to get up. and if you use it in choke points? no one’s walking anywhere but into it.
Guardians can be amazing offensively. even with the staff. you’ll realize how much pressure you can place on even a zerg with jsut staff 1. now mix is usage of the other skills and a second weapon set and you’re definitely a formidable force.
checking this out now!
Silven’s PvP Guardian guides helped inspire me a lot on how to approach sPvP in gw2 as a Guard. : ))
yea so far been playing the same since patch, and more or less unchanged. great 1v1 and 2v2 capabilities is pretty improtant though in PvP i feel. least from the fights / teams i’ve been in so that’s good. will check out vuln on immob and see how that goes. will ahve to get used to it a bit but it’s always useful for locking enemies down. ; ))
and i saw! can’t wait to check it out. the day i left my earphones at home : (( lol
re: Runes of the Warrior, i actually use 5 out of the 6 on a variation of a DPS symbol build. however, i never thought of using the -1s swap CD, since i’m using fire sigils. the faster recharge for the dodge heals seem nice with energy, but then i’d be losing the DPS from Fire.. hmmm. though i have noticed a few moments where i coulda used an extra dodge lol XDD
p.s. Silven, so you are looking for some to play on NA now as well?
hmm, you can build in almost any way, and the greatsword could fit in well. so depends how far down the DPS line you wanna go vs how much survivability you can retain while doing so.
what areas of the game are you mainly interested in with your Guard? and what level are you now?
p.s. are you going for the sylvari cultural armor?
Eh? Where can you get ascended back pieces for gold?
these guys, i assume : ))
that being said, you do still need 1 vial of condensed mists essence for each craft.
i had to buy two maces for me Guard – one PvE, one PvP. ://
supposedly you can jump with it!
if i get one, i’m going to craft it. and have fun lol
^^^ this. i LOVE this site and thanks xanthic again and again.
remember once you open a page and start the process, don’t refresh! since it’s update quiet often, as stated in xanthic’s sig.
also, i recommend buying all the mats you need right off the bat when freshly refreshed. in case of those TP savvy who like to “play” the market. ; ))
i agree that finding a build + gear that works for you is half the battle. though, then the other half is how you execute it. not anyone can just pick up any given build and play it the same way you do. that’s the beauty in it as well.. that you own a build, not just by coming up with it and have the numbers on a stat sheet and synergies listed out.. it’s how you put it into action, how you face up all the other builsd and professions AND players in the game, that allow you to shine and own up to your build.
is perhaps one way to see it. : )) for those of you who want to share, already do. and for those who don’t, there is an option, though some may feel they’re being forced to only play “private” arenas.. am suer more will open up in due time. or start your own when time comes!
i don’t think retal was ever the be-all-end-all for Guardians since the very first big nerf? i was still leveling then so correct me if i’m wrong. retal though does add a bit of gameplay, in terms of watching out for what boons your opponents have and react accordingly (use single big hits instead of multi hitting skills, etc) and vice versa, if you have retal, you can choose what shots to take from your oppoents as opposed to which ones to avoid completely, etc.. perhaps in zerg fights it was out of line, but what isn’t going to seem overpowered when you have 50v50?
seems like another band-aid “fix” at the moment. though i think it’s good they’re actively tring to balance the game. i know that it will take time, so hopfully we’ll continue to see more changes in the future.. of course, not just to the benefit of this class, but the overall big picture and longevity of the game.
i put this together super quick for a decent stat spread. Guanglai or others, feel free to help improve. i didn’t use any ascended gear for the sake of “simplicity” but there is a lot more room to improve. i went with larger and healing symbols as well, personal preference. persistence argubly can serve better purposes since most mobs don’t know how to dodge out of your symbols. also, since armor is a bit low in this build, i opted for healing symbols to help with the survivability a bit.
and on that note, with what i’m linking below, i feel armor could be higher. and the low critical damage is not making full use of the high crit chance. :///
i’d wanna say having bloodlust on your weapons to get 25 stacks of power as well for “maximized” dmg. but if in fractals, i guess the maps change so much, so unsure if the stacks will last / worth it.
agree what you’re saying with shield in PvE.. i like using it to push foes into walls – so you get the interupt, while they remain “in place”. focus is definitely more suited in PvE with the mace, but hey, i picked up the shield and mace as well and looks >> practicality at times lol XDDD
(edited by akamon.2769)
if i play hammer, while hitting hard, i am going for more “survivability”. while with the GS, i am aiming on hitting as hard as i can, killing as fast as i can. and in gw2 at least, there are points where i try to find balance, but i want to say though in general strengthen what you’re good at, before making up for what you’re lacking. i.e. GS i feel is best focused on more DPS, though not to say, to completely ignore your defenses. finding that balance will be half the fun. : ))
i don’t mind in a sense.. lol, means when i get to play but time it short, i get to play an extra match so i can get the “daily” lol XDD
but yes, they’ve significantly upgraded the requirements for daily, relative to what it was previously.. which was like super fast.
in the end though, i play for PvP-ing. but i do keep track of the daily and will aim to get it done.. beacuse, why not?
1v1’s i definitely enjoy as well. what frustrates me more than losing a 1v1 though i’d have to say from my point of view.. is when another two or three come long and then you lose. lol. it’s expected, since PvP are group games, but especially when you’re in the process of finishing someone off a decent 1v1 fight, then 2 backstab thieves come and insta-down you, then stealth stomped you while your defensive skills were on CD. XDD
i’ve seen some great 1v1 warriors that never die, but don’t just run and heal and come back either. and have also seen some great thieves play awesome in group. people jsut need to break out of the “class only = this ONE utility” mindset.
if anything, i was actually looking forward to the signet changes. bane seems decent, but the rest are still.. we’ll see how it plays out though. was really looking forward to a change to signet of judgment, but perhaps, could have been OP….
people will argue that mace is STRICTLY support. to a certain extent yes. but if you were to pidgeonhole and say mace can ONLY do support, i beg to differ. perhaps sure, mace with focus is a more DPS-focused set, but even with mace+shield, you can still be effective in combat and put massive pressure on enemies.
i’ve run a 10/30/30/0/0 build with mace focus and mace auto hits for 1-2k and my symbols crit for 1k+. and my gear stats weren’t even that focused on crit, so you can imagine what it IS capable of. then here comes the shield. given the trait setup, you are argubly more “squishy”, though not entirely.. but protection never hurts anyone, so having shield 4 which is also AoE, plus does dmg it’s nto bad. then shield 5? another heal if you need. but best use? to interupt people’s heals, or big moves. the best thing about this is, there’s no “tell” so your opponents can’t readily avoid it since it’s more or less an instant knockback. i’ve even successfuly used the shield 5 to knockdown enemies that were running from me.
Guanglai’s suggested build seems awesome as well. buff up the symbols on the mace and it’s hard to not play mace. you get mace #2 so often it’s lovely. know that approx 2 symbols of faith = 1 symbol of wrath in terms of CD’s on the GS so you can plan accordingly. drop symbol of wrath, then double up with symbol of faith on top, and with the higher crit rating from Right Hand Strength, watch the crits fly.
may take some getting used to not having AH, and i’d miss the crit damage, but it hink would still be workable.
or if you want to go “tanky”, i’ve successfully played hammer + mace/shield as well. i know many will say it lacks mobility, etc but it was extremely fun to play. again, buff symbols.
There’s no need to keep calling the entire server to be without class, Magical Sky Daddy.
Akamon we could be all be friends if we weren’t all trying to kill each other
i know right? now if you would be so kind to give me a moment to allow me to prep this finishing stake. remember, always use the pointy end! >; ))))
that’s the thing, you don’t rush straight into the zerg. less you do want to drop like a fly. you take the sides, go at an angle, break the group in half, etc. in addition to that, if you have 5 men and you see a group of 30, are you going to rush in? of course, fights are never even, but i’ll assume if you are planning to take on a zerg, you have a sizeable force on your end as well. what if you run with 5 hammer Guards, throw in other classes? what have you, will there still be 20 people focusing just you? and in anticipation of people focusing on you, you prep up for what you need for that initial clash. stability is almost a necessity. AoE blinds, blocks, you have other options to rack up your dmg reduction and other migitation skills. zerg fights go both ways. i wouldn’t be so quick to write off the hammer Guardian as useless.
the Guardian wasn’t designed for instajibbing, though it’s possible if some choose to go that route.. going back to the symbol e.g. sure, it may not one shot down anyone.. but those that run through get a little boon, smart players may dodge out, thus allowing your smart players to then lock ‘em down and focus them with one less dodge, if you blast the field, you get AoE retal and if you’re taking heavy fire (again, assuming your front liners are running with you..) the retal certainly marks a dent in their force as well. some will either get downed, or some may, just may stop attacking, which gives you some breathing room.
smart usage of Ring of Warding effectively cuts off a portion of their group, allow your peeps to focus them, or spread their forces. banish is just pure fun. need to single someone out? knock ‘em off a cliff? you ercognize CC is great. and even with mighty blow alone, it’s great for breaking up zergs and you can so easily down people in a zerg with just one hit since most often there’ll be more than a handful of people’s health hanging by a thread.
i guess my point is though, the hammer has served me well. in 1v1’s, in ZvZ’s. is it the go-to weapon for every single situation? i would argue most likely not as well. though far from being useless is all. : ))
(edited by akamon.2769)
@Nirvana – fair points. at the same time though, you are giving up other stats for taking Life, compotes and Stamina. sure, after your Life stacks, you can switch out to something else.. but i guess i am just pointing out that it may not be hard to have selfless daring be pretty darn effective, but it does not come “free”. same with every build decision you make in this agme. it’s all about give and take. could one argue that with a 620 AoE dodge roll heal out perform a Guard who has higher DPS or whatever other utility they brought to the field in a ZvZ? it’s hard to say obviously, but bottom line is, it’s not to the point where one could say it’s over powered.
@Exedore and others – i wonder how they’re going to approach “balancing” Energy sigils.
FannWong is a great commander. : )) and through our few exchanges on the field, a great person as well as far as i’m concerned. always appreciate your posts in here!! on par with a few other leaders (not just those with commander tags, mind you) from JQ and BG who keep their servers together.
take what you will from this thread, folk. deep down though, we all know we can’t live without one another XDDD
you CAN do ranged… but it’s not necessary on a Guardian. or rather, we excel at melee that much more. scepter is not bad, but even then i feel it’s more effective up close, but that and the staff can and does give you a little breathing room.
i didn’t level up my Guard in WvW. some peolpe loved it. i first dove into WvW at 21. had no idea what i was doing. didn’t even know the classes fully yet. so i leveled up to 80 in PvE, did dungeons, got gear, etc. learned a butt ton. and THEN brought it back to WvW. i’m a comlpete different beast now. there is so much you can do to soak up damage, interupt, cancel out people’s skills… control, stop them, reflect absorb projectiles, heal, AoE blinds, stack vuln, keep random burning up at all times, full heal your party in super clutch situations from 10 to 20k health… and knock / AoE push people off cliffs… i guess what i’mt rying to say is.. don’t write the Guardian off so quick in WvW.. especially if you’re just leveling while playing WvW.
but then again, it takes time for each class to really fit into your play style, and vice versa. to be honest, i didn’t start truly and fully enjoying my Guardian until 60+. and now, i’m enjoynig him EVEN more. it’s ridiculous. i’ve about 6 different builds and working on more for WvW. there’s full support, there’s hybrids, there’re more DPS focused.. there are some for mobility, some walking fortresses, i even have one built around glacial heart (yes the CD sucks) and chills. and they all work for different situations. never have i felt not useful as a Guard. i can be a bit slow at times, just be near buddies who like to give out swiftness. ; ))
did i mention you can knock people off cliffs?
your role as a Guard, is only depending on what YOU wanna do : )) except maybe super ranged combat. but why do that when you can smash people in the face?
and walk to tell the stories of it.
if i get on tPvP nowadays, it’s mainly to get my daily done. if i don’t see the regulars on, i’ll solo q and i always say herro. go o/ and let them know where i’m headed first, or general streatgy. ic all out if i had 3 on me, so they can cap other points, call out where a the “zerg” is heading if i see it, etc..
most of the time people dno’t respond. though many a time, i see people react to what i type out. which is encouraging. if anything, at least i knew they were reading. and you’ll get the occasional miracle of having 3 matches in a row, all different teams, from what i could tell, all solo q’s, and all 3 times massive communication going on. did very well in all 3. : )) though nto to say communication = win. cause i’ve had matches where we did talk strat and got wiped. mayeb too much typing. lol i kid i kid.
i even talk in sPvP. is that taboo? lol
wow, that’s great. really looking forward to this change! great stuff and thanks.
will add more layers to gameplay i feel. : )))
never really thought about this and i’m not one to actively “manage” my position on the boards (quite low right now XDD) but of course, i will strive to win all matches.
that being said, i think if they are able to implement some of these ideas or address this issue constructively, it will be better for the health and state of the game. which would be beneficial for most, if not all, of us.
i got Juggernaut, after many hours of.. playing : ))) and that being said, i don’t use it 24/7. don’t get me wrong though, i absolutely love it, and when i swing it, it feels pretty good. but to me, in the end, it’s another skin and there are a many great skins for the hammer and other weapons out there. and i sort of play mix and match with my various builds, so they all sort of need their own skin sets as well lol.
but definitely no regrets. : ))
the skins you get exchanged with bauble bubbles, masterwork/green versions, are account bound however. : )) only the rare ones dropped from chests can be sold.
but yes, other avenues to obtain obsi shards methinks.
definitely see Mercy as more group oriented. cause you do miss out on a lot of other runes attributes when in a solo situation. might stick with it for WvW then. ; ))
ahh, oops! XDD, my bad! 6 builds! sounds like fun. i’ve got a few up my sleeve, though haven’t been able to play much lately so will have to test when i am able to get back on.
i love that bunker build and it’s interesting taking Binding Jeopardy. so i guess you’d use hammer, scepter and then signet to root one after the other? and does it aplpy vuln each time immob is applied? that actually makes sense for setting up burst for your team, and you’ve stacked a ton of vuln on them. hmmm.
might stack hammer sounds like fun. also curious about hammer/scepter DPS ; ))
