I personally feel like I am going nowhere in PVE

This game is designed so the mechanics themselves are fun. Not the rewards or progression. You can Progress in what area you want. Want to get to level 80. Continue making new characters. Progress in a story continue making new characters. Progress in armor. There is crafting and and other armor vendors.

Pick a goal and go for it. Finish the task pick another goal. I like it that this game has goals I can actually complete. But there are also other things that I will never finish as there is no end to them.

Language for International Servers

@ReginaBuenaobra but if the international servers dont have a fixed language then everyone else is gonna speak their own language and say whatever they want(meaning insults are included). How am I suppose to know when someone else is insulting me when i dunno the language?

Inquiry: If you can not understand what they are saying are they really insulting you?

My take: People can speak in whatever language they like. However if you want to be understood by the group you are talking too. It would be advised that you speak the language of the people you are talking too. If you know the language.

I like them the way they are. The deciding factor on if you finish or not is time and the coin you have. I think that is the way it should be. I recently did a explorable mode with my guild. We were trying to figure out how to beat a event. We eventually said that we would get back to it later as it was costing us too much in game coin. Death is the punishment. Having to restart the dungeon is not fun. You could always make it harder on yourself and leave the dungeon if you feel the group should have wiped.

I guess this is because they said it will be possible to RESET or Replay Story Mode in same char, then that will let you have the chance to play with all 3.

I don’t think that is in currently. However I would not know as I have not completed the game yet story yet. If you have a source for that we would have a idea on what type of timeframe we we are looking at to get this feature.

Consumable filter sub-catagory is not working. I click on Consumable then pick food for sub-catagory. I get 0 Results. I think that this is hurting the economy by making a lot of people more poor then they would be otherwise.

As a side note filters could use some improvement for the armor.

People selling items on the trade post 1 copper higher then vendor value

After thinking about this for a while and doing a bit of research myself. Weapons do not necessarily have this problem as bad. Same with some of the other crafting professions. I think part of the problem is that the armor crafters are missing a filter to make it easier for pepole to buy.

That filter is the Armor Class (Light Medium and Heavy). I think that putting it right under sub-category would do just nice. I don’t think we necessarily need a usable by me. This can put a unnecessary load on the trading post. As I think it did thus why they removed it in one of the BWE’s.

Recently I wanted to upgrade my armor for the Ascalonian Catacombes. My Leatherworking was not quite up to my level and it is too expencive for me to level it. I knew that there was a lot of good armor from crafting in the trading post better then what the armorsmith made. So I went in and set a filter for 5 level differance to see what I could by. It gave me a bunch of stuff that I could not wear. I gave up finding the armor I wanted and just baught from the armorsmith murchent.

I think a lot of pepole are having this problem. It also looks like the consumeable filter is broken.

So my question is this what terms have you been using to find the items you want?

Just don’t type the bad words in chat. Why is that so difficult?

Well, when you take into account the fact that we can turn on and off the chat filters, there should be NO consequence for the use of “foul” language.

I shouldn’t have to worry about being penalized because Anet can’t seem to back up it’s own game tools.

Don’t want to see anything objectionable? turn on the chat filters.

Problem is filters do not always work. Plus having a filter does not give permission.

So, with the 15% TP Tax...

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: anzenketh.3759

You can’t list at or below vendor price, but with the listing fee, you certainly can take a loss equivalent to selling it for the vendor price. And many people are doing that. As for below price, I may be recalling incorrectly, or maybe it was a glitch with the TP earlier; but it’s not a planned part of the economy, as you say.

Yes many people are doing that. However you can help fix the problem. Or at least make it better for some items. People tend to just button mash and use the action house as a place to dump their junk. Why? Because it is available everywhere. When they will get there money faster if they just vender it.

Something you can do if you want is buy everything that is listed at too low of a price. Then re-sell it at a higher price that take into account mats cost and similar items being sold at a NPC. A lot of people don’t know how to do that. So they just go with whatever the system tells them. A lot of times this is just something at the vender price.

Something else you can do is not make the problem worse by adding to the “Lowest Seller” Price on things that are priced to low. Place a custom sell order to the price you think it is worth or sell it at the vender.

Also it is important to remember. MATS are the item that is going to go for the most. This is mostly because everyone can craft everything. It just may take them time.

So I haven’t seen the following scenario posted, but I’ve encountered it twice now while on the TP.

I went to buy a dye, and I wanted to get 3 of them. There are 3 available at the lowest price of 80 copper. I enter 3 in the quantity box and hit buy , but instead of getting charged 2 silver 40 copper, I was charged over 3 silver. All I can figure is that in the time I entered my quantity and clicked buy that the 3 at that price had sold and that the TP automatically sold me the next lowest price. This also happened to my wife, but at much more dramatic rate, as hers jumped from 90 copper up too 45 silver as the next cheapest one was someone price gouging. Really need to have a confirmation box after clicking buy stating what price you are paying and if you’re OK with that, if the ones you’re buying sale in that time frame then it needs to error and reject the sale, not automatically sale the next lowest price.

It tells you how many is available at that price. If you put in custom order it will tell you what the next price is.

Question:: Black Lion Exchange Cross server???

in Players Helping Players

anzenketh.3759

I just wish people would stop selling everything for vendor cost and sometimes selling stuff for a loss. Its great for leveling my crafting but horrible for trying to make gold.

I think that this will fix itself over time for some items. The majority of crafting items are Tier 1 and Tier 2 at the moment. This is mainly due to that is where the majority of the player base is playing.

Question:: Black Lion Exchange Cross server???

in Players Helping Players

It is cross server. I think it is this way for a few reasons. One reason is it is salable. Low population servers have the same materials available as the high population servers. Also one server is not necessarily richer then the other.

The problem with the argument “There is a filter I can say what I want” is the filter does not always work as it should. You have no clue what words it will let though and what words it will catch. Until it is too late. That is not a problem with the programing of a filter. But a problem with filters in general. A filter does not give permission to use inappropriate language in chat. It is to help with the accidental slipups not the intentional abuse of the english language. Also even though there is a filter people who turn on the filter read right though it they know what words are there. Why because they hear it all the time.

It all comes down to respect. Remember there are children playing this game also.

Is WTS/WTB in Map chat "Spam", now that the Trading Post is up?

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: anzenketh.3759

anzenketh.3759

I ignore the WTB and WTS. On my server it is not that bad. The 15% service charge is actually not all that bad if the item is priced right. It is also somewhat of a “Gold Sink” to use the term loosely.

Personally most buyers will use the trading post due to it is more secure. Buying though mail is like buying from the black market. It is risky as there is no Player to Player trading (COD or otherwise). As soon as the People posting in chat figure that out that they will go to the trading post too. The posts I feel will also decrease after the Trading post is more stable. I am fine with the crafters posting Looking for work due to the way the economy is for crafted items at the moment.

As long as it is kept to Lions Arch I really don’t care all that much. After all it is the trade city.

How do YOU make money?

Care to elaborate on that a bit?

How is putting in a custom sell or buy order better?

I mean…..if the lowest copper ore is selling for 20c…..why would I place anything lower or higher? Any lower and I lose out, any higher and I dont sell.

Ditto for buying, although there I can see putting in a buy order for a lower amount than the lowest selling one and hoping someone bites.

On selling that all depends on the number of sell orders and the item and the demand for the item. If there is only 10 or 100 or even depending on the item 1000 it will sell if you place it at a higher sell price but not too high. The question is how long will it take. Remember this is a gamewide market that has had 400 concurrent users. At any given period of time 1000 orders for a highly traded item (like copper). Can go buy in a flash. Sometimes when selling going lower will actually make you more money faster. Depending on the item and the quantity that you have and a bunch of other variables. For example say copper was selling at 20 bronze with 500000 sell orders. When it really is only worth 10-15. Copper is relatively easy to obtain but most people have passed the copper mining areas so they don’t do it. So you go and get copper. Then put it on the trading post for 18 or so when lowest sell is 20. Your order will get fulfilled first for those that want it now and don’t want to “Hope someone will bite”. Thus making you more money faster because you don’t have to wait for all the other orders to be fulfilled first.

As for buying it is much more cut and dry. Doing a buy order a little less then the lowest sell order will typically get you the item as fast on highly traded items but cost less. Again depending on the item and supply. Reason for this is you become the highest buy order.

How do YOU make money?

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: anzenketh.3759

anzenketh.3759

Always do a buy/sell order. Sometimes depending on how you do it they get fulfilled just as fast. Price the buy/sell order with how long you are willing to wait for something to be sold/received. However pricing too low for some items you may never get the order fulfilled. It would be interesting to find out when the timeouts for buy/sell orders are. Hopefully there are some in place. Otherwise orders will be all over the place with massive amounts in the extremes for a while.

Also identifying what the market wants at the moment helps. Tier 1 mats are in high demand. Tier 2 Basic mats are a bit oversupplied at the moment. Tier 2 fine mats looks to be ok at the moment. This is likely to change.
