Do hardocre players really need events like this? Where they need to team up with 100 or so people they do not know and failing is quit possible?
Or do they need areas like in GW1, Underworld, domain of anguish and a bit hardmode fissure of Woe. I think these areas in gw1 are much more suited small scale hardcore content the players are looking for.
I always saw people doing these areas, and I do not think the wurm is being done in a few weeks/months?
Very bad idea, it would encourage all kinds of play and griefing that you do not want in a game like this.
So after running around in Lion’s Arch, I found a very familiar map in the Consortium’s Gift Shop. I noticed some people had pointed that map out in Scarlet’s lair as having a ‘pin’ stuck in an area, well it looks like it’s not a pin at all and is a tear in the map. So either A) It’s a specific texture for that map and the tear means nothing in Scarlet’s lair or
The Consortium has the same mark on their map in their Gift Shop which is…odd
after more running about it’s definitely just the texture of the map
i found the same version of it at the Durmond Dig Site in LAalso the second photo is of a pretty cabinet set up in the place, i don’t think i’ve seen (but if one of you have please let me know) this anywhere else in the game – notice the decorative aspect of it?

And if you are stomped, no rez is possible. It’s a finisher, it makes no sense that you can rez or be rezzed.
I am just affraid that hard content like the wurm will be abandoned in a short time because the novelty is over and people go back to other parts of the game.
I dont care, this is not the kind of content I prefer.
I got them from doing the event over and over so I could get sprockets for other chests and opened a few of them multiple times to get lockbox thingies.
This boss fights puts all other fights in the game to shame I think. Much better handled and pretty fun to do. There is still a high fail factor because people still have no clue that those shiney things on the floor are not for standing in, but that’s not Anets fault. No idea how they can make it more clear than they are doing now.
Few afkers on the map that profit from the event, but that is to be expected.
That map sure looks very good. Lots of annoying fall off spots but still awesome looking.
Look up Excala on YouTube — VERY good D/D ele roamer. Typically chases zergs.
Geez come on, that is probably the best d/d ele around. And yeah his movies are great, feels awesome to play as d/d ele.
Failing lane 1 is depressing…You have to be really bad to fail it. Thus people who aren’t too good, but at least know how to read should be there.
Lane 2 is a bit harder, but it’s all about reading comprehension. Once again, people who aren’t too great should be in this lane.
Lane 3 should be ready to do their warden, or Warden II in case lane 2 messes up.
Ideally, not too good players from lane 1 should move to lane 3 once it’s done, and good players from lane 3 should move to lane 1, once lane 3 is done. That way champions won’t pass through, and not too good players won’t be a burden during the harder fights.
(It’s not to sound elitist, because those fights are easy. But if you are having a hard time during the first or second fight, you might end up being a burden during the last fights).
Yesterday I noticed people failing lane 1. They did not listen at all not to attack it from the front but they did not listen, did not understand. Not even the ground indication was enough information for them to stop attacking there. Sometimes there is just nothing you can do. It would be a good idea if you could jump over to another platform, even if it’s just the one closest to you. In overflows and only 10 people on lane 5 without help it is spreading thin on all 5 platforms. I think Anet thought everyone would go into the portal but on none of the fights I was in all people went there. I’d say around 75% is going through portals.
Marionette is a great fight. The randomness of the platform ruins it completly but its better than all other bosses.
The wurm is just one big mess, without a guide to know what you are suppose to do you just have 100 people standing around trying to kill stuff and get either instakilled or dazed for most of the time. One of the worst fights I have ever seen, only to be trumpt by the worst in this game, the battle against zaithan.
Please promote the people who came up with the marionette, and no more of that wurm thing please, it’s just for one or 2 servers without overflows, if you are in an overflow you can better stop, never going to work.
Buy better servers to get people to enjoy the content you created but has to be done with lots and lots of people. If your servers cannot handle it please upgrade.
Except, i have seen more times than a few only 3 or 4 on my platform, lots of players on already finished or dunno what they are doing just standing there.. It does not make any sense, he is my teammate for the dps, why would I want to split this up?
I feel that the randomness is terrible, I transported to a platform with 5 people, 3 dead and one hanging on, just barely while other platforms had 15 players or so? Could not count exacly because of the bom spamming and heel spamming on my own. 2 people to fight a champion, yeah great.
On desolation we did lane 5 pretty easy with 15 people. Hard hitting ok but still only 15.
There is one thing I still do not get, perhaps I have not read it right. We did lane five and got called that a previous lane did not succeed and we were ready to use the portal to the platform. Now the next thing I did not understand, I got portalled to a different platform than my teammate. Is this how it works when a previous lane fails, you randomly get portalled to a platform? If so that explains why we had so few people on each platform.
When you go into the portal it splits everyone up randomly. Think of the 5 platforms as card players at a Poker Table. The players get split between the platforms like cards being dealt to card players. 1 here, 1 here, 1 here and so on. The chances of making it to the same platform as your party members is slim, especially if you only have 15 people entering.
Really? That sounds insane, what kind of non gamer would think of such a terrible way to split players.
I faced your guild more than a couple of times in the WvW league. Great fights and indeed as your name says gentlemen. No gankers, no corps dancers and this stuff, but all in all fair and good fighters.

If you are an all-around player, focusing on PvE and WvW I would 100% pick Guardian.
But the biggest bonus for guardian over every other class is their ability to make money. How? Look at my sig.

the problem is, the suggestions ppl make would completely ruin the class/entire weapon sets in pvp and pve as well
How does my suggestion ruin the entire class or weaponset? D/P currently has a lot of utility AND the ability to stay stealthed almost an entire fight. My change essentially swaps one skill around on one weapon set. It doesn’t even remove the ability to use the combo just not spam it.
d/p main dmg comes from bs… please tell me how d/p suppose to do dmg after your “change” … or stay alive for that matter
You dont find it weird that your main source of damage is a skill that people cannot see, even the name of backstab says enough.
The attack chain(s) that d/d thiefs use 5 -1 is something they can implement as a non stealth skill. Like the full damage attack chains of the gw1 assassin.

The need to have something, to make it more like the gw1 assassin attack speed or attack chains could be reused. Although I do not think this is possible in the current game. But I dont know how you can even defend invisibility in this game. It’s insane.
The only way ArenaNet will ever get another penny from me is to release an expansion pack. I will NEVER spend any real cash in the gem store. I am against cash shops.
And how would you suggest them getting the money to develop said expansion without the cash shop?
Uhm… the same way they developed Prophecies, Factions, Nightfall, Eye of the North, and Guild Wars 2?
Well of those you mentioned only EOTN was a true expansion, the rest are also games on their own.
Perhaps the next time create in game timers for these events. Would be a nice addition I think.

It will however not in the slightest help against zergs on low pop servers since they do not even get a chance to stomp. It’s even counter productive when you are defending, Wont go out because if the stomp me i cannot get back to defend.

In spvp hammer is way too slow there is no way around it.
I have 200 tournements under my belt an 90 % of the matches i used the hammer as main weapon and i never run bunker.

Zerg is the most usefull class in the game, if you can have an even larger zerg also known as the blob. You are fine, can take the whole map without caring what professions are in it.
Dont forget random DC. You can never know you disconnected because of the server or you ISP. But when you do all your work is gone
And to add another, stealth, or rather invisibility. Worst thing by far in the game, affects wvw more than pve.

Marionette event is brilliantly done, the wurm event is just bad. Waisting resources on something only a few in the game can do, and then even only a few servers. No please stop doing this awefull so called hardcore boss events and stick to the good ones.

Defending is useless, conquering is everything.
After stealth, get a stealth sickness. So you cannot enter it for some time. Does not have to be that long but it should stop perma invis. Because it’s not stealth, it’s invisibility.
You know, for someone who can afford the resources and wages to construct not only a giant walking robot, but a giant flying UFO (as well as the thousands of aetherblade millions that spawned and most certainly are mercenaries), I would have thought Scarlet would get some more lavish quarters to live in.

Polls are great, but they can get muddled with order bias. How about this – create a thread that asks for players to list their three favorite things about WvW, along with their three least favorite things. “Hey ArenaNet, do more of this, less of that.”

I have had too many censors/removal of posts so I cannot start a thread here. One does not simply post their problems on an Anet forum.
One little thing that has been repeated many times but it doesnt seem to sink in. One hit kills are not fun, I know you want to promote the dodging in the game but things like that are just very easy to design things. It’s hard to find a boos who does enough damage without the instagib kills.
Ok so I tried it for the first time on my Home server. Much fun, and wow that marrionette is awesome looking. I am always pretty harsh on bad designed content but I felt like this is 100 steps in the right direction for boss fights. My compliments.

The barrels are a nice option for low damage classes to participate too and be succesfull. Might not be big numbers fun but still when you are usefull for the end kill I would find that fun enough.

Ok, I have a theory here, and I hope I’m right.
I think most would agree that we haven’t been exactly getting a ton of new armor peices, and a lot of models seem to be reused for newer updates. I find it quite unlikely that Anet’s artists just got lazy, or that many of them were secretly fired. They are probably just working on something else. If that something else is an expansion, then it would explain this situation nicely. If the expansion is what we usually get from MMO’s, then we can expect a bunch of new zones with art different from the ones we have now, new enemy models, a bunch of new armor models from leveling, new dungeons and such, and possible a new race. If that’s what they are working on, they guess who gets to do most work for an expansion like that? Artists, of course. If all their artists are working on things that are kept under wraps for now, and only one or two are either assigned to add things for current releases, or pause their work to do a quick reskin, that would explain what’s going on.
That or they are working on wildstar :/
Again the US servers are bugged in a major kill and I would be annoyed to not getting credit for the kill.

It is GREAT NEWS that Dhuumfire is nerfed to the ground. Now perhaps our whole profession won’t have to balance around Dhuumfire anymore.
I support any kind of nerf against Dhuumfire. In fact this whole trait should be deleted from the game altogether and be forever forgotten alongside the Forgottens.
How is it great news that it is now completly useless? Nerfing does not mean make it so bad no-one would ever want to trait for it.
Because Dhuumfire should never have existed in the first place. It is universally hated by both necro and non-necros alike. Necros hated it because they knew it would cause tons of nerfs to other skills, and those nerfs did come as expected. Non-necros hated it because it was too high damage, and it was.
Lore wise it also made zero sense. Why would Dhuumfire suddenly become a good guy and start helping the good side?
Nevermind the nerfs to Dhuumfire. I will be happier if they just delete this whole trait and replace it with something totally different.
And the last thing is the most important one, they have no plans to replace it after the nerf. So basicly because of dhuumfire and people complaining about it necro’s are worse than before it got introduced. I’d rather have it back then to be honest.

Invest a little money to buy some servers that can handle more than a few people on a map? I’m sure other MMO’s can handle more than 70 people on one part of the map..
