The story about blowing up Ascalon in gw1 was a bit better than this to be honest.

They’re releasing quality content for a game that costs no monthly to play. Personally I think it’s ok they make some money, they deserve it. I’d rather they make money so they can keep releasing quality content, rather than go the ways of SOE games where people pay for expansion packs and still don’t get quality content.

There has been $53.75 worth of gemstore merchandise put out in the last 7 days, not including the passes. Charging for new things they have made is fine, but removing an existing convenience and placing it behind a paywall is just a shady business decision.

what is stopping you from going to another city? serious question. what existing convenience did they remove that wasn’t already more convenient in other locations?

The key being “other locations”. They very well know that people do not like to travel places to do these things. Why do you think these passes are created in the first place?

It’s not the point that you can craft in every major city in the game. It’s the idea that Anet knows and imo abuses the peoples laziness to let them aqcuire a pass that will allow them to do this in the so called optional airship.

Actually, a solo player can contribute more to the success of the map than anyone in a zerg. There are LOTS of city dwellers that need to be “motivated” to run for the gates. One person covering the larger of these clusters (like where the Ogre recue spawns) can rescue 30-40 people all by themselves. That’s way more than the zerglings accomplish when you divide up their rescue credit.

Well that does make it more interesting to be honest. I think guerilla type warfare is a nice change from the zerging.

Too bad the rest of the “content” is just a rehash of previous living stories. Go with a group there, foes will spawn, more will spawn, champ, kill untill timer goes away.

I think people are blowing this a little out of proportion… I mean I’d rather they fix the bugs BEFORE they release it than release it “on time” then have to do 3 hot fixes and take it down 10 minutes after it goes live.

So you have to wait a little longer. BIG DEAL. So you have to maybe go to bed cause you’re in EU and you’re tired. Wake up and play it tomorrow then. It’ll still be there.

New content doesn’t get discarded by the player base within the first hour it’s released. There’s always people doing the content for AT LEAST a couple days after it’s released.

Lighten up, play with your pet, go on a walk, get come coffee, say hi to your kids/parents/friends irl, watch a movie, listen to music, play an instrument. There’s always other things to occupy your time..

If you have to fix things just an hour before a major release.. That does not sound to good in my book.

For reference, here is my build.

Nothing fancy; based roughly on the standard Warrior front liner / melee trainer or “worker” build I found on intothemists and a couple of WvW guild sites. I tried to pick something that is as widely used and simple to operate as possible. Doesn’t mean I’m any good at running it, obviously. I do manage to not die a bit more often than I did when I first started, so there’s that.

I would try a different build/traits, and use different sigils(you know they do not stack right?). And also use different weapons., I never see any war running with axe/warhorn.

snip

I guess it all depends on who looks at it, I believe the world changes and zone changes that have been added to the game amount for an expansions worth of content. There have been new zones that opened up for the living story, just because it did not stick around. Which even if it did people would still only play it for a few weeks then be done waiting for the next thing. I really dislike the old model of how expansions were handled, and look forward to how A-Net is handling it. I do not need a new class/race to feel that they released an expansions worth of content. Or a new zone that is added that i visit once beat all the vistas and hearts and then never go back until I create a new character, or kill a champ in the zone.

I think they handled Eye of the north perfectly.

In the interview Colin gave to I think it was Eurogamer there was an interesting section. It went something like 350 people working at Anet and they cannot be all working on the LS, so an expansion is in the making there is no doubt there.

I’m sorry but that’s a terrible analogy. Just because some of their people are not working on LS it doesn’t automatically mean they are working on an expansion.

I’m sure there are more things to do than besides making LS and expansions.

Ok I cant think of a single thing for a game dev to do besides working on some part of a game. Let’s take mapdesigners as example they are not working on LS are doing what according to you then?

BTW you must have the best signature in the forum period, that one is awesome

Green is by far the easiest to defend, after that Blue and then Red. Blue has got some disatvantages that their supply can be taken out fairly easy. Red has a supply to keep advantage to veloka, keep and ogre. This is perhaps the reason of their two towers being placed on weird spots.(Anza flipping like mad on a normal day)

But I take this over the “balanced” maps in BL any day. I’d rather have some more variety in BL too.

That is a bit harsh, the Ranger needs some love but it works ok in zergs if you can keep yourself alive. Ranger and thief both are very good at finishing the lower health players that survived the first onslaught by the melee train + Ele’s. LB can take out the running-away lootbags too.

I’m sorry but Crafting is just Dirt cheap in this game, and compared to other mmos its the most user friendly and casual experience ever with nothing ever going to waste. I’ve tried and hated crafting in any other game but GW2 actually makes it worth while to spend the 5 mins a day to look up discoveries to make something that was stored and organized for you.

You don’t Need the Asended gear it really makes no difference. 4.91% stats 5% if celestrial.

That’s irrelevant because I DON"T WANT TO CRAFT PERIOD!

I don’t want to spend my whole time clicking a “craft” button. I want to kill stuff!

eek. I can level a craft to 500 in 30 minutes. (and I actually timed it, 1-400 take me 20 minutes) I’m not sure what whole time mean.

A full set of ascended armor cost 189,000 karma, 500 gold, 120 skill point, 50 temple, 75 dungeon, and all you complain is the 30 minutes it take to craft it? You must really like killing things. Or you really hate crafting.

I do not have 500 gold after playing it more than a year. And I have 8 chars so that would cost me a bit more. A bit insane that it would take over 4k gold to gear your toons.
