Because THIS IS THE EXPANSION PRICE. Live with it. You don’t pay more for the Core game. But reading is hard, I know.

just hold your money. the beta isn’t even worth trying. get it after launch, or for Christmas . hopefully with that anet will bow to our request of cheaper expansion price.

when did they ever say there would only be 1-2 new maps to enter? You have all of Maguuma Wastes and maguma Falls to fill. that’s more than 1 area. i would say a good 80% of that land will be used.

Plus they can extend the map out more like they did with the Expansion Eye of the north. that was a $39.99 expansion back in 2007 that “required” you to have one of the Full versions of Guild wars.(Factions, nightfall) If HoT didn’t come with the main game, it won’t work. it’s not a stand alone game.

It’s an “Expansion”. let’s say you are right that you can play HoT without the core game. you won’t have Access to any of the map in the core game. If you read what i said above about Eye of the north, that is an expansion that wouldn’t work if you didn’t have the core game. I don’t know how WoW expansion work, but this isn’t WoW. i would think you need the core WoW game in order for any of the expansions to work.

of course you would need core game to access HoT, but what would the existing core game owner do with the supposedly “free” core game when in fact it was bundle that are jacked up in price…. ?

It’s bundled for the new players. Would i rather have it bundled with 1 character slot for $49.99? Yup. I’ll just delete a copy of a class i have to many of.

Look at the bundle this way, the past 2 sales they had the Core game was only $9.99. Maybe HoT only costs $39.99 but with the core game always on sale for new people. The price isn’t going to stay $49.99 forever, and i’m sure they will put HoT in the gem store eventually with the core game Not included.

You have an account and you buy the xpack > you’re only getting the xpack, no new core game you could hand out to someone
You don’t have an account and you buy the xpack > you get the xpack and the core game.

If you have an account already, you’re nothing getting anything else but an upgrade to your account.

i have Bolt and Minstrel too. yeah, Minstrel needs a facelift….

on the contrary, some people believe the fun begins just at 80.. good thing about this game is that, at high level, the lower level content are not outdated like in other games where mobs turn grey and doing their quest/event doesn’t bring any benefit.

i have 8 characters, 3 already done the map 100% completion, while the other 5 have just finished the “exploration minus the hearts” (so WP, PoI, SP, Vistas only). did the SP only initially, in preparation for the upcoming trait/skill changes, but then i thought might as well cover the others except hearts…. hearts can wait.. lol

Shelter will not be getting a skill category. It would probably need to be adjusted in someway if we did do it – and it’s fine where it is right now.

Should have placed it under Consecration. It’s nature fits it perfectly there.

if you repeat the same range, the only thing missing would be the bonus chest, you know, the dancing chest … each fractal in the set of 4 would still give the fractal relics depending on the fractal scale.

fractal daily would give you extra pristine fractal relic that can be double clicked to get the fractal relics

don’t forget, ANETdid mention that baseline stats for each class will be increased, as well as base attribute points on equipment.

use guild commendations for accessories. save laurel a bit.

although we’re not sure what’s the purpose of getting Jewellery to 500 when you can get the ascended amulet, ring and accessory by using laurels/commendation. legendary backpiece ?

next patch wont affect world completion. what make you think so ?
