No, you do not need to be level 18.
You can enter it at level 2.

You can not enter WvW until level 18 and PvP until level 22. I visually verified this after this post. When you try to access them a mouseover tooltip pops up stating these levels are required. I’m assuming this applies to new accounts only and is not applicable if you have a higher level toon on your account.

My point is that the new players are encouraged to participate in these events by a daily quest pop up. Regardless of how many other players think a new player should and shouldn’t enjoy their game experience the fact remains that a new player is given a task they can not complete.

I would prefer the new players be given encouragement to play in areas that they actually can complete.

False, mostly. You have to go to Lion’s Arch. Once you go click on a portal for WvW, the icon at the top unlocks including the keyboard shortcut. Once you go through the portal for Hearts of the Mist, and complete the tutorial, the icon at the top, including whatever shortcut you assign to it will unlock.

Will this unlock account wide?

looks like it.. a friend of mine just bought a new account, made his character to lvl 19 and then he decided to switch server, so he deleted his characters and made a new one, and at lvl 3 he was able to access WvW simply by pressing B, no need to go via LA portal.

but don’t just take my word for it though, because i remember my low level wasn’t able to go WvW via pressing B, got the message saying “till lvl 18”. i myself still don’t understand how it actually works…

in GW history, an expansion or a new campaign came with 2 free slots… let’s pray we get just that.

crafting mawdrey can be quite confusing. the wiki guide is also a bit confusing at first. i didn’t bother at the beginning, but after getting the concept of “growing a plant from a seed”, it makes more sense.

it is i can say the cheapest ascended backpiece to craft. totally worth it.

i have 102 tomes. i will use them immediately, and get lvl 80 in 5 minutes of playing revenant. then i’ll hunt for the traits. lol.

correction…. actually there are 3 campaigns (each story can be played on its own), and only ONE expansion.

they do actually sell al the 3 campaigns+ EotN )expansion) at discounted rate.

if your purpose is only to get the Sohothin (Fiery Dragon Sword skin), you need to buy at least a bundle of 1campaign+EotN, create a GW1 account, and link it to your GW2 account…

i think they meant leveling grind or endless gear threadmill when new max level are introduced.

vanity grind is another matter, it’s by choice.

Stronghold GvG = FA+JQ in GW1, i think.

8v8 or 10v10 would be the sweetspot. 15v15 would make it too crowded.

the so called GvG what most WvW players understand is nothing more than a keyboard facesmashing extravaganza, blob v blob.

go play GW1 and you will understand the TRUE nature of GvG, and stop calling your version of deathmatch extravaganza a GvG, call it BvB .

OP, do you know current WvW mastery ? yes, those ac mastery, cata mastery etc. HoT mastery will work just like that, account bound, so it is alt friendly.

whatever they do, i hope no companion/hero system will be introduced…. they are bad in terms of social aspect of the game….

i would happily pay for a new big true expansion. we have been getting free living stories for more than 2 years now. not many companies are able to do that. time to repay ANet what they deserve. but of course, the content must be worth it.

While here, we just have a simple bug fix, of a bug that has been in game since launch might I add, which only DETRACTS from the fun of the game. While not everyone partook in playing with auras, a large amount of us who actually made the effort to make a legendary did. Regardless of what the intention was, it comes across as a HUGE disrespect to these players. We worked alot for these items and this change doesn’t make the game any more fun for us, therefore we feel disrespected

hmm not sure why, but my CPU utilization is always above 90% when there are many players around, especially when zerging in silverwaste or doing the world boss.

i’m using i5-3450.

yup, try to adjust the character model limit. i always set it to lowest when doing PvE, and change it to medium when doing PvP or WvW.

you don’t need to render all the other players’ character when doing the world boss.

remember Chaos Armor ? initially there was no limit on how many times the attacker will get the conditions from it. then ANET nerfed it to 1 condition per second. but when a mesmer pop up a feedback on group of player with retaliation, he can die instantly due to the retaliation.

so yes, retaliation should be limited to 1 per second.

i took a short break few months ago (a week break to be exact). came back afresh.

sometimes you just have to forget all about GW2 even for a brief moment.

most lvl 80s are doing AC (or any easy dungeon) to farm gold. they want to finish it fast and real quick, not to handhold.

with a decent group you can do 6 dungeons in around 2 hours, and get 13g.

send one to the lower tiers..lol

yup, SW farm.. my once-in-a-while farming also manage to get a stack of ectos. the rares mainly comes from the breach. successful breach gives 3 rare bags.

since when WvW player care about reward ? and, i thought those WvW superstars only care about fight, and not to worry about losing building ? what happened ?
