Some lame dungeon to appease the casual crowd with easy content.
I get that some people don’t have/won’t put the time into a game, but I’m just so tired of these crappy, easy mode “MMO’s”. Does anyone make a truly epic, work you’re kitten off for real rewards, game any more? or has WoW ruined the genre for all time?
And unfortunately for you they have flat out said you’ll never be able to permenatley stow your pet because it goes against the class design. Pretty crappy IMO

Does anyone know if you’ll still be able to upgrade the piece after the event is over? I would imagine so, just looking for a conformation.

Just wanted to add my voice to this. I agree that Legendary’s should be Account bound on creation, unsellable and remain Account bound on equip. I’m currently working on Incinerator for my Ele and I also have a Thief that I’d like to be able to use it on as well as an un leveled Ranger and Necro

This ^ is where your mistake is.
Make Precursors Soul bound on acquire. Make Legendarys Account bound (no more selling on the TP). Now, leave the current system of rolling in the MF for a precursor if you get one it’s Soul bound (So don’t roll for one you don’t want). Change the drop system from Chests, open World, WvW etc. Instead of Precursors droping you get a token/ticket (with the current drop rate) that you can then take to a vendor to get the Soul bound Precursor of your choice. This keeps everything just as rare as it currently is but it’s a little more resonable IMO.

I’m experimenting with a non bunker D/D build in sPvP right now with only 20 points in Arcane (11 sec cooldown) and it’s working, the 2 extra seconds have tripped me up a few times but I’m getting used to it. Also been enjoying catching people off guard since most people see a D/D coming at them and assume bunker. You’ve got me thinking though, maybe I’ll give it a shot with only 10 points. I could definitely put those points to use somewhere else
Boon hate will have no effect. Look at the warrior tree its in and you’ll figure it out. Boon hate won’t do a thing. The changes to sword for thief will.
I’m not so sure about the Thief sword thing, FS already would strip 1 boon. Now it can take 2 IF a bunch of Thieves start running sword/dagger again ( I don’t see many) it could be a problem. I guess we’ll see

The analogy is, if a gurl dumped her boyfriend to be your gurl, that gurl might do the same to you in the future.
With these kinds of attitude from them, we can start counting the days when they will leave Dragonbrand too for other server. Heck, some of them even have the guts of taking things out from guild bank without permission.

Your analogy is wrong. DB didn’t court any of these guilds, and if they do leave later, we won’t be affected. We’ve always had a happy, close-knit community, and your drama is not welcome here.
Your behavior, however, speaks volumes about why some of the guilds chose to leave your server, though.

Calvin, i understand what you’re saying and honestly you’re right. However, DB went through a very similar experience not that long ago so lets not forget how it feels to be on the other side of this equation. People do have a right to put their feelings and opinions out there.
Anyways, welcome to the new DB guilds hopefully we can all work together to further our server.

Experience: Have done SM, working on Bifrost and need tokens for my gift. Also I’m interested in some challenging content.
Time: on pretty much everyday anywhere from 8pm to 5am EST.
Other: I’m willing to re-trait to better suit a group if needed. I’m currently ruining all exotic PVT gear, Knights trinkets with Ruby jewels.
Some people don’at want to play that way (Farm COF P1). I don’t have a war or mes first off and that’s not a legitimate method of farming IMO. I want to EARN my gear myself (farming for 2 corrupted shards). The idea that legitimate players suffer because others abuse the system is bogus.
Simply make us able to go deeper in specializations.. Stronger healers, tanks, dps.
GW2 Abolished the trinity, what you’re saying that you want here would undermine everything they did to make this game unique. It really sounds to me like you might be happier playing a different game.
Yeah, it’s pretty ridiculous that the class with the lowest armor and health pool, and no access to stealth, should ever be able to get into or out of a fight, especially when locked into a fully melee range weapon set. Just stand still and die, stupid clothie!
I don’t believe RTL is in any way unbalanced, unless you consider running away to be winning.)

I think this can easily be fixed by making cripple and chilled affect all movement abilities including ride the lightning, burning speed, the roll on updraft, and mist form as long as it was applied previously to skill activation etc. etc.
It’s already like that, Burning Speed is effected by chill and cripple just like you suggest. During RTL you can still take damage or be knocked down. As far as mist form though I can’t say for sure but IMO as it’s a stun breaker I don’t think it should be effected by anything.
This is my idea if it could be implemented I think it could work. Say your on your staff in WvW and you get jumped, you’re now in combat and can’t switch weapons. What if you were allowed to swap BEFORE you used a skill, once you’ve used a skill in combat you’re locked into that weapon set until combat is over. This prevents you from making use of fields from different weapons together.
It’s never going to happen, but it’s the best idea I’ve had so far.
The major problem I see is the people gouging for them on the TP. the prices have just gotten ridiculous at this point. I simply refuse to take part in it which means I may never get my Legendary and so be it. IF I somehow got lucky on a random drop and got one (that I don’t need) I would rather give it away to someone that would actually use and appreciate it rather than participate in the festival of greed that precursors currently are.
One last thing: Please make Legendarys account bound on acquire/equip, unsellable and remove them from the TP. The whole debacle in it’s current state is very UN Legendary.

a) That summons a greatsword. Point is, if you want a greatsword, you can play it. If you’re just interested in a different skillset, then it shouldn’t matter what weapon’s used for it…it could be a Frying Pan.

I realize they don’t stack that’s why I’m saying all those traits are wasted space. between the signet and/or swiftness you have no need for anything else. I think the class has other more pressing matters but maybe one day that can be addressed.
I can’t say if it’s working or not. But don’t you think with all the speed buffs in the game (your signet, swiftness etc.) “That Zephyr’s Speed”, Air IV “one with air” and the Arcana IX “windborne dagger” are wasted traits and that we could benefit from have other options instead?

The problem I see with a baseline of 10s on Attument cooldowns is this: Attunement swap is our weapon swap, so we already have twice the skills of other classes (how anyone feels about said skills you still cannot argue the fact). So everyone else has a 15s cooldown on their weapon swap and if we trait for it we can get as low as 9s. Giving all Eles a base 10s cooldown on swaps would just simply be OP.
Soldier armor can be bought with karma in Orr (everything but the pants). Also to the OP, I’m curious is there a reason you didn’t take the Arcana VII trait “Blasting Staff”? That’s a must have for me when I run with staff.
Yet still I can’t understand why you try to weaken staff in your writings more than it really is. Elementalist itself (traits) give boons to group and by blast/skills can give additional ones. Air #5 and Water #4 works great if somebody follows you in group – it gives time. On the other hand Earth #4 and #5 should be improved. (dd ele can immobilize more effectivly with 4 times shorter cooldown).
The answer to your question is simple. Too many players these days simply don’t care or see the benefits to “support” such as boosting the dps of your group as a whole. It’s all about “MY dps, MY dps needs to be higher I need to kill that necro in two hits”. and THEN when they drop for whatever reason they rage at whoever is around them to pick them up.
What you’re asking for is a bit much imo. A pretty major overhaul of class design and mechanics is something that would take quite a bit of work on the back end and, you have to consider it from every angle to keep things as balanced as possible. I understand your frustration and I can get behind SOME of your ideas but, with what you’re asking overall I wouldn’t hold my breath if I were you.

This could work, however I am mostly considering staff at the moment. The problem then becomes that this would replace Sigil of Force.
I’m not sure how often you swap attunements but I would think Sigil of battle would equal more than a straight up 5% in the long run. 3 stacks of might is worth 105 power and 105 CND DMG, 6 stacks 210 pwr/cnd, 9 stacks 315 pwr/cnd. so if you cycle through youre attunements you can see how that quickly adds up
Its human nature to establish hierarchies, to categorize people and to label things. Its how we identify our position in comparison with an ever changing society of peers that arent equals.
Saying something is “Human Nature” is making excuses for bad behavior. Just because something is in my nature (i.e. my first response/thought) doesn’t make it wise or intelligent.
The way that some people behave in games is just sad, I feel sorry for them. Their lives must really be terrible for them to feel the need to verbally abuse random strangers. It’s the same old bully mentality that has always and sadly will always exist.
The sPVP/tPVP side of this game is kind of failing right now it seems and attitudes like that discourage the current player base from coming and participating which could possibly help to revive it. I realize that it’s not going to change, I don’t expect it to. My skin is thick enough I can take it, I enjoy all aspects of this game and somebody with a chip on their shoulder isn’t going to ruin my fun. But it’s kind of sad that a little bit of kindness and civility is to much to ask from people.

I leveled my Ele along side of my wife’s Ranger pretty fun combo for PVE
Also if you use some boon duration you can stack might for extra power and condition dmg
Defora, I like your trait build, I have a question about your armor / stats though.
I also run PVT armor + zerk trinket/wep, but I don’t come close to 50% crit chance, and according to your link you get 50% crit.
Is the website screwy? or how do you get up to 50% crit without food?
Check his build again, almost 10% of that crit chance does come from consumables
Some people have 3 legendaries already and i cant even get 1 pre cursor.
Ask yourself this: What do you think most of those people (not all but most) did to get that many legendary’s this early on?
Combo Fields run on a few principals.
For one they require organization and group communication to be counted on reliably. This is because the first combo field placed will be the one that triggers any combo finishers. So for example a Guardian spamming Combo Light fields will often times ruin the best laid combination plans you might have. I can personally say I’ve blown up AOE Retaliation more times than I care to admit because some Guardian dropped a Symbol of Wrath right before I did my Might stacking combos. Another common culprit is Mesmers and their Ethereal fields. In larger scale WvW, Necros and wells.
For two they require sufficient finishers to be taken advantage of. For example the classic Static Field with projectile finishers. Without enough ranged people to take advantage of this, you won’t stack very high Vulnerability therefore lowering the net bonus. This creates problems with other combos like AOE Might because it requires the people to benefit to be close but they could be at range doing projectile finishers and not benefit. Support is all well and good, but simply doing support for support’s sake with no tangible benefit is completely and utterly useless.
More over, I’d argue that you’re doing your group an injustice by wasting everyone’s time trying to do group support when there’s no need for it. Granting AOE Might for one or two people could (no one knows) be worse benefit to your group than just continuing to DPS because the DPS you lost performing that AOE Might could be less than the DPS gained by the Might stacks you granted. No one can say for sure whether or not it does, but that should get you to at least think about the principal.
Point taken regarding combo fields, Myself I still feel they are worth using even in un organized groups but that’s just my opinion. As to your last paragraph, I think that so many people have that opinion and that it’s part of the problem in area’s like WvW currently. Until people change their attitudes and seek to actively work together (even pug groups COULD coordinate) WvW will continue to be controlled by the Zerg. It’s not game breaking IMO but it could be a lot more fun than it is.
When playing in a group (organized or pug doesn’t matter) only thinking of yourself and maximizing your own dps is selfish and doesn’t contribute to anything in the long run. We as Ele’s have some of the most combo fields in the game, regardless of how you’re spec’d/geared you should use them as much as possible for the benefit of the group. Being selfish in group situations is the only wrong way to play any job IMO.
Actually, why not allow swaping during combat with a 60 seconds delay or something? Would that buff us so much? We could do some new Staff/dagger combo and dealt perhaps more descent damage.
We are already dying more than other classes as soon as we move forward.
The design philosophy of the game is to limit the total number of possible skill combinations. Therefore it seems unlikely that ArenaNet will implement in-combat weapon swaps for elementalists. Just remember, if you can’t think of it, and ArenaNet can’t think of it, that still doesn’t matter there won’t be some player that can find a way to abuse it.
For example, how about a Frozen Ground followed by a Magnetic Leap? Chill your target, immobilize it in an ice field, add another second of chill thanks to the projectile and get Frost Aura on yourself to boot.
And then you’re gonna start fighting for real…

It really seems like a wash to me. Kinda comes down to personal preference, Have more direct dmg and survivability due to knights/cavalier type setup. Or have it spread out between cnd dmg and healing power with celestial items. When you crunch the numbers they favor the direct method a little but I don’t think the math really accounts for the cnd and healing that you gain with celestial gear. It really comes down to which setup works best for your own style
still wonder why people think weapon switching would be OP.
if they keep track of attunements CDs on weapon switch (or even reset them on weapon switch idc), i don’t see anything close to OP happening ever.add in some higher CD on weapon switch than normal (like say 60s in combat but no CD out of combat) and we’re good to go.
I like this idea. Take it a step further though and make the “In Combat” CD 90 or 120s even that way the isn’t room for people to claim that it’s OP. I hate running in WvW with my staff, getting jumped and going oh kitten now I can’t get to my daggers and I’m screwed.

Am I missing something here? What I see is that the debuff got a one second increase but still only applies when an attack is used. So, basically no change
A MASSIVE change. All PvE rotations that use the stealth attack are completely ruined. The flow is awkward and S/D is now defunct, as the one niche it managed to fill with Tactical Strike and the +Stun% Sigil is now gone.
Any niche the Thief had in PvE is now pointless, and if you didn’t have a Warrior already, just make one now.
I shelved my Thief for an Ele a couple months ago anyway. I just like to keep up with the class so thanks for the info. Also I don’t see this stopping any of the whinning against theives in WvW since they can still chain stealth

Considering I only play WvW, yes.
I assume the way to obtain racial armors will be to kill a dragon somewhere 85 times or run 112 fractals or otherwise stop playing the game the way I normally play it. This has been the case for pretty much everything so far.
Racial Armor is as easy to obtain as kisssing 119g goodbye. The pieces range from 12-20g per piece. And they’re only rare quality, you’ll have to transmute them onto whatever exotics you want
