AP is completely bullkitten if you use it as a requirement for a dungeon LFG.
Dungeons dont give AP, hobby dungeon explorer has a 200AP cap, and other than that there aren’t really dungeon achievements.
Asking for a certain amount of AP in a dungeon LFG is the same as making a CoF LFG and asking people to ping 4 stacks of pristine fractal relics
I might be wrong, but isn’t the fire magic bug already fixed?
Last time I checked I didn’t see the extra 150 power added up
Path 3:
the orbs are the hard part for this one. I am currently unaware since the trait change which classes can do them solo. beyond that any class except Necro can do it.
Engi, mesmer, thief, elementalist and warrior (with clerics gear) are the only classes that can do it right now as far as I know
Also Necromancer has a bit more to offer groups than just the blood line. How about Blood is Power which stacks 8 might instantly for the entire group? A pretty useful utility in addition to the vampiric auras and DS tricks. Wells are more useful (ground targeting) and so are staff marks. Before kicking a necro, one may need to revisit the class. It’s gotten a lot better for groups.
The problem with necro isn’t that it doesn’t offer group buffs, or that it’s personal DPS is too low, but there are other classes that are just simply better at it.
I personally would never kick a necro, unless I specifically asked for another class, but I can understand why other people would rather have a second elementalist than a necro.
If you don’t like getting kicked as a necro, join “all welcome” groups, or make your own LFG
Warrior is generally the easiest class to solo things on because of the big hp pool and decent damage, but if you’re good at it ele is a lot faster.
As for path, I would say P2, but P3 isn’t that hard either
Mesmer is really good in TA Aetherpath, especially with selling the achievements
Because selling achievements has so much to do with hardcore PvE guilds.
I always stop mid-run to sell achievements #metatactics
I’m sure guilds are always on the search for top class mesmers that are able to sell achievements
Personally idc which type of party it is and I can adjust. Some times I have very little time and I’ll go with a speed run, other times I have more time and I don’t mind playing a build that will work better with more casual players, but will take slightly longer. Others don’t wish to play one of those styles ever and that’s their choice and no one’s opinion of which is better is the “best” way for everyone to play.
If you want a “speed” run, you don’t pug at all
Speed-runners stick with speed-runners. Do this and the speed runners are happy. Speed-runners in a casual group = OMG this is taking forever what the kitten -> some one gets kicked and they go on the forums to complain!
Casual/play how I want ppl stick with anyone welcome etc. groups. Do this and the casuals are happy. Casuals in a speed run group = OMG why did I get kicked??? -> go on the forums to complain.
Stick with people who have similar playstyles and stop trashing others for how they like to play the game. Stop with the self righteousness. There is no best way to play for everyone.
The problem is that actual speed runners that have any clue what they are doing don’t show such behavior.
The people that join a casual LFG and then complain its taking forever and ragequit are people that think metabattle is the holy grail and that they are the best players in the world just by using a certain build, and then expect other people to have the same mindset
I understand what you are saying but honestly – AP is the first flag. It’s fast and easy and you don’t have to worry about it much. Some times you can kick really good people based on AP – but it doesn’t really matter since you very rarely get bad players at really high AP ( at least in my opinion) so I am willing to let those really good low-AP players go in order to make sure I rarely get bad players overall.
I have played for 230 days, over 1000 hours of ingame time, been in multiple high end speedclearing guilds, and over the course of that time i have accumulated roughly 2000ap, because I simply can’t be kitten d to grind dailies/story/whatever gives ap.
During those 230 days, I could have gotten 2300 extra AP by only doing my dailies.
By doing that I would have 4300 AP, which would make people a lot less judgemental.
But all I had to do for that 2300 extra AP was kill some mobs in queensdale, complete some events and gather some stuff.
According to your logic, you would kick someone that probably knows more about the dungeon than you, because he has low AP, but you would let someone that gained 10,000AP doing WvW and dailies stay, just because they have a higher number of AP next to their name?
You might want to uninstall the game.
Dungeons don’t give AP, hobby dungeon explorer caps at 200ap, and other than that there aren’t really achievements for dungeons.
Its bullkitten to filter people for certain content by AP, while you can’t gain AP by doing that content.
That’s the same as making a CoF party and asking people to ping a stack of pristine fractal relics
Yeah well, its bullkitten for vigor, but warhorn is one of the most useful things a warrior has, and he is implying it isn’t
as for worst elitists my friend did a fractal and got yelled at by the guardian (who apparently can’t stay alive) to bring warhorn for vigor, cuz ya know fractals below 40 ARE SO HARD. It just funny that this guard kept saying warhorn is what every warrior should have cuz its so good xD
Every warrior should have a warhorn, because its so good.
You can provide swiftness for your team, blast stealth and cure crippled/chilled.
I honestly don’t see why you WOULDN’T have a warhorn, lol

Well, they were very convinced about how pro they were, so I assumed they knew basic speedclear tactics and I didn’t have to tell them beforehand
I joined a “META SPEEDRUN EXP” SE p1 group and got kicked for pulling the 3 golems together in the middle of the room instead of stacking in a corner…
How can a person have two legendary weapons and still not known how combat works in this game?
Mom’s credit card
I don’t think that would prove anything. Ability to identify a mechanic isn’t the same as listing all mobs that use said mechanic. Apples and oranges.
On the subject of pathing, Is there a way to stop mobs from following me, like that group of risen between room before lupi and shogroth?
You have to hit them once so they dont teleport to you
You might want to add if you’re on EU or NA :P
Working as intended boys
That ‘pathing’ you described, sorry but that is so super specific… I read the forums almost every day, have played 3’000 hours and started in betas and didn’t know about this. I knew at the beginning thiefs de-aggroed while stealthed – this got nerfed.
How can you NOT know about this if you have played 3000 hours?
I would imagine when you’re stealthed, and you still see mobs following you, you wonder why that happens, and search for a solution, no?
I guess you play PvP, which doesn’t have any mechanics at allThat’s exactly the kind of rude behavior that make people call folks here “elitists”.
You can call me an elitist, but at least I don’t waste other people’s time by pulling all of Southeast-Asia on every skip
Well you didn’t get the point…
Rather than shouting that “people should know”, screaming, whining, qqing and whatever else (that’s pretty much what you’re doing, it’s rude and doesn’t bring anything good for anyone), teach the people willing to learn will be more beneficial to everyone.
I’m sorry, but where exactly did you see me “screaming, whining, qqing and whatever else”?
I just said I was surprised that he didn’t know it after 3000 hours of gametime.
Also, whenever I see someone in my group that doesn’t understand pathing, I explain it to them.
Stop assuming things that you don’t know kitten about, makes you look dumb
You’re probably just a filthy zerk elitist Kappa

I can run Arah with you if you’re on EU.
As for not getting bad people, you can put things like “exp” in your LFG, but people usually don’t read the LFG anyways…
Best option is just to have a good friends list/guild with people that you can invite for runs
Engi has best DPS for now, but when grenades are fixed ele is at the top again
I honestly liked how “long” it took because of the best of 5, 7 and 9 setting.
Everybody is going to have his own opinion about it, but people are probably gonna watch it anyways.
Props to Nike and DnT for organizing the tourney again!
Getting 5+ PS warrior PUG’s in a row in Fractal 30+… who can’t Maintain over 10-15 might.. I lol when they state that they’re Exp..
Reminds me of all the “exp” eles that don’t prestack might because they think its the phalanx war’s job
Personal DPS is now probably something like
1. Thief
2. Ele
3. Warrior
4. Engi
5. Guard
6. Ranger
7. Mesmer
8. NecroI tested Ele vs War and Ele scores about 600-700dps higher against a single target, other than that I didn’t really try anything
How the kitten are you getting that much damage out of an engy that you’d rank them above guard?
Is there some complex and difficult best case scenario skill rotation you guys are pulling off, because no combination of bomb/grenade kits and flame thrower has ever gotten above the ‘meh’ level for me.
Eh, guard is honestly not that good DPS.
I don’t play engi myself, but I know engi is absolutely sick DPS if you use the optimal rotation, which is like, 30 seconds long.
There’s plenty of videos on it, go look it up
So apprently this person thought it was cool to be carried through the whole fractal.
That sounds like 90% of all pugs lol
Just did SE p1, and after getting through the tunnel of golems that pull you, the 3 golems you need to fight at the end were insanely brutal, mainly because one of them is unloading a kitten ton of burns.
Looks like we’re going to need to start bringing group support to dungeons.
Alphard now also applies a kittenton of bleed stacks, same for Wraithlord and poison stacks
Its still possible, but its more RNG now.
You just have to be lucky that he doesn’t use 4 autoattacks in a row, because if he does, you’re kittened
I’m just gonna quote Nike, because this pretty much sums up how much of a change there probably will (not) be :
“The fact that they didn’t nerf Ice Bow should let you all know that the “over powered builds” they are referencing have nothing to do with PvE balance. I wouldn’t expect direct damage pve based builds to be nerfed too badly, outside of bug fixes.”
(edited by bladex.9502)
You can run discipline instead of arms if you really want I guess and still have fast hands. Not sure how the might upkeep is though.
With dumplings and strength runes, you should be able to maintain at least 20+ might, but I could be wrong
I’m just going to say that I hate GS camping PS Warrior with an undying passion.
GS camping has become a lot more fun with the Berserkers Power change and the more damage on empty endurance tbh.
At least now you actually have to pay attention and do stuff instead of just mindlessly pressing 211112111121111
Personal DPS is now probably something like
1. Thief
2. Ele
3. Warrior
4. Engi
5. Guard
6. Ranger

Curious what you were doing on Engi. Really think there’s lots to explore on them still. And curious if you mean 30s which I think is what the old lists stated as standard? I imagine Engi being pretty high with burst if you can get an evade in quickly for that sweet double orbital/barrage.
And, I’m not very up to date on Warrior, but from looking at it, it seemed like Warrior’s big gain was the DPS increase on PS war, did they also receive a large just general increase? And, curious what build as well.
Regarding engi, I honestly have no clue what the DPS is in its current state, but I heard from friends that the DPS didn’t increase a lot, so I positioned it like this with the pre-patch DPS numbers in mind. Might be wrong, somebody has to correct me on that.
Warrior and ele both tested on maximum DPS solo builds on a golem in HotM.
Warrior’s DPS is increased by 5% from the buffed Berserkers Power.
Another 10% from the trait that grants you 10% extra damage while endurance is not full.
The actual usage of burst skills in your rotation now also slightly increases the DPS.
There are some more damage modifiers that I can’t really remember atm, but its a pretty big DPS boost compared to pre-patch
Regarding Phalanx Strenght, didn’t test that yet, but judging by the consistent 40k+ 100 blades I got while playing in groups on a Phalanx strenght build, while pre-patch it was usually around 28-32k, I would say DPS is buffed a lot
Personal DPS is now probably something like
1. Thief
2. Ele
3. Warrior
4. Engi
5. Guard
6. Ranger
7. Mesmer
8. Necro

wups wrong one http://postimg.org/image/qxr211ubz/
4 signets is obviously the new elementalist meta, l2p noob
Meh, 100b is amazing in PvE, please dont change
Had Lupi teleport all the way out of the arena without any reason multiple times, gg anet
high damage doesnt matter
Before the patch warrior already did way more damage then almost every one in PvP.
you will soon find out that zerker warrior still sucking for the same reason
after the patch, everyone’s damage got buffed, including warrior and thats itBerserkers gear is so bad, PHIW, QQ.
If you like to play in full Clerics gear, that’s perfectly fine, but I can assure you berserkers gear is far from “sucking”Just let you know we are talking about PvP here
it’s no problem, new players often make this mistake without incredibly clear indication. /sarcasm
Want to know a little secret? berserkers gear is still better in PvP :O
healing elementalist
Someone doesn’t understand the game’s mechanics

My warrior was OP after the balance patch, and it still is OP after the second patch, I don’t see any problem
Very well done!
The iphiw ele builds used in pve are real fun to have in party. Usually just as good in defiance management as a fearmancer, I mean necro. Had an aurashare ele in TA who made sure we had shocking aura at the start of each boss fight, another yesterday in SE p2, charged into every boss with RTL, followed by updraft.
Still better than the rangers that begin their rotation with Point Blank Shot and push everything out of your AoE’s
They don’t begin the rotation with it, they WAIT FOR YOU TO INITIATE 100B and then…
Or meteor shower.
Or ib.
Or barrage.
Or sword aa so they send you leaping to infinity and beyond…
Ugh.
Let me just cast this……. FUAAAAAARK /votekick

It might also help using the dagger’s fire field in your case instead of scepter, since its a lot bigger, thus easier to land your dragons tooth in.
Other than that kitten y’s explanation is spot on
Apparently your name is a curse word according to anet lol
Both eles running signet of air, that’s some proper kittening puglyfe right there
It’s scepter piece collecting part (I think) followed by a trash run, signet of air actually makes a lot of sense.
Didn’t really watch the minimap, I’m tired.
But still, the ele also using the other 2 signets kinda indicates that he isn’t using signet of air just for the trash run
so was pugging AC and saw this guardian. not only that, but he was using the Runes of the Golemancer. The other asura ele could not stack might or even drop an ice bow, while my friend and (the human ele) duo-ed everything pretty much

Not a pug, but worth posting!
Title: Rezzed by the Bearbow
If you guess what happened (so hard!) Imma send you a slab of red meat.
Gotta love the charge attack on those abominations
Anyone got anymore suggestions? Q_Q
rT
Also, SC is kinda decent, if you stick around the glorious French members.
I’d imagne SC and rT has pretty rough trials though right? xD
Every high end PvE guild has pretty rough trails, it wouldn’t be a high end guild otherwise
Oh yeh I get that, I just assumed that SC and rT would be on the harder side of things compared to the others.
Well, rT is obviously a guild for casuals, so the trail is probably killing a veteran in Queensdale or some kitten like that
