Its kinda sad that you are forced to buy HoT to stay relevant in any game mode, but money over satisfying your playerbase I guess :/
We did aether twice on our main and alt accounts shortly after patch and all 5 members dropped a skin in both runs.

2015 : sick of zerker meta
2016 : sick of condi meta
God I love these forums <3
Approved!
Glad to see you’re still approving records!
Not trying to be annoying, but here’s another one from a month ago that didn’t get approved yet https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/dungeons/hC-Citadel-Of-Flame-path-1-duo-5-54/first#post6054361
Nice clicking. Kappa
Good thing I click all my utilities but not whirlwind which you are actually supposed to click :’)

Had a lot of fun doing this one, split strats are quite interesting.
Will improve if there’s competition, but happy with this for now
I played this staff ele build up to late-Diamond this season.
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vFAQFAWnMIC9XiVOAeOA8RgFBALIAUAOACXyQQKwN1ObztA-TJRBwAAeAAkLDM5CAQd/BA
It might look very squishy, but in lower divisions people often don’t understand its a good idea to focus a staff ele first, and will often just end up dancing in your AoEs and focusing the necro that’s on the point with you, allowing you to win hugely outnumbered fights and carry your team even if they are awful.
Basically you just want to never engage a 1v1 unless its a (bad) thief or dragonhunter, and look for teamfights to support.
Against really bad teams you can usually just freecast from a distance, but if they actually attack you, you can just cast all your AoEs and mistform to sustain for a bit and hopefully they will just down during that period.
This is in no way a super amazing build, rather just something I use because its super fun to play, but I find that it works better than the usual d/f auramancer in soloQ, since you can heal your team as much as you want, but if they are just drooling over their keyboard at beast with 3 people you are going to be useless, opposed to this build where you can easily win outnumbered fights.
Kappa is a twitch emote used to indicate something is sarcastic
Nah don’t buff guards, its nice to see people finally realizing mesmers are better.
Also can I have your stuff when you leave?
Refunding HoT should not delete my GW2 account. I paid $150 for my GW2 Collector’s Edition (something you now give away like old food). Requesting that my purchase of Heart of Thorns be refunded due to Anet’s inability to provide what I paid for should roll back my account to pre HoT, not obliterate it.
This is unacceptable and needs to be addressed by Anet.
I refunded my Heart of Thorns prepurchase shortly after the actual release and got all my money back, and I still have access to my gw2 account in the state it was before I purchased Heart of Thorns.
Not sure why they suddenly changed their refund policy, I guess too many people were disappointed and it started costing them too much to refund all of them
Quality bait thread m8
music choice aside..
you answered your own question with your post. Fractals are for level 80’s. You also chose the easiest fractal to solo. Either lfg your own group, or Continue to solo.
Yes because kiting Mai on engi is easier than fractals like Swamp, Molten Duo or Urban Battlegrounds, right?
Kappa
Earth shield is great to pull mobs together in dungeons with skill 4 (for example abominations in front of lupi gate, risen at the end of arah P4 etc).
Skill 5 is a decent invuln which you can use to cancel Ancient Ooze’s split or evade simin’s petrify.
As for other conjures, LH is decent but its usually lower dps than using your normal weapon skills, you mostly drop it for other people (mesmer, ranger).
FGS is amazing when a mob is against a wall or in a corner since fiery whirl hits for 40-50k with 25 might, and skill 5 does decent damage as well
Sounds like this is an exploit which makes the record invalid if you ask me
The previous record, which got approved, also did this exact same thing, so as far as we know its perfectly fine according to the duo records ruleset
You skipped the room where you need 5 people
Thanks for mentioning, didn’t notice :o
Hardest dungeon boss?
Hardest fractal boss?
Hardest raid boss?Hardest PvE content overall?
Tazza
Mossman I guess, but there’s not really such a thing as “hard bosses” in new faptals
Matthias
Probably trying to play staff ele/anything condi based that uses firefields in SW with 10000 rangers knocking things out of your AoE’s, that kitten is hard yo
(edited by bladex.9502)
Timer for the first boss is 7 minutes, timer for the second “boss” is 9 minutes and I didn’t make it till the third boss yet, but I’m fairly certain its timed as well
Grats.
Now, can we have all the content that the other 90% of the player base actually cares about?
You hardcore types have had your 3 minutes of fun.
Implying content that gets cleared 4 hours after release is hardcore?
Anyways, congrats on world’s first
dw they will fix it, just like they said they would fix the fractal encryption key vendor bug, right?
I don’t feel like testing if an exploit still works but thanks to your video I have my questions regarding the intentions of this fix.
- Can The Howling King pass through the newly placed gate?
- Can The Howling King still be lured far enough to ascend the staircases?
- Can The Howling King AND his spawn get stuck mid-way on the staircases?
I remembered this post when I was doing AC today and tested it for you.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tXToshcqvrI&feature=youtu.be
Seems like it just goes invuln when you try to savespot him, and they even changed his attack so it hits way higher than the actual animation
Well that’s a downer…
No future plans and simply a fix for exploits.I feel inclined to believe you yet I wish you never commented.
Not because I dislike you or your comment, in fact it’s exactly the answer I was looking for.
But because you extinguished that tiny spark of hope that had come to life in my excitement. Thanks Casmurro,
Here’s to hoping we’ll one day get more content in the beautifully designed dungeons. As the OP I hereby declare this thread as closed.
Thanks everyone!
It still leaves space to wonder why they would fix this particular small savespot that not many people know of, over savespots and exploits that have been in dungeons for over 3 years (Frost etc).
This isn’t the first time the “secret room” got updated.
When the textures of the stairs got bugged the tunnel towards the jumping puzzle room suddenly had wooden supports against the wall, where it was just a rocky runnel with moss before
You just need to watch a video of an AC run then just pug it. Dungeons in this games are all about stacking in a corner to kill mobs then running past another bunch of mobs then stacking in a safespot to kill the boss.
Where exactly in AC do you savespot bosses?
The only boss I’ve ever seen savespotted was Colossus Rumblus, and that’s just because of kittenty Grast AI (and l2p issues)
And regarding OP, power reaper would be your best pick since the 2 easiest paths to solo (p1/p3) both have burrows that can’t be damaged with conditions.
If you actually plan on soloing dungeons more you might want to think about making an elementalist/warrior, or even a thief.
But honestly, you should just join a pug since after HoT you will pretty much only get first timers that will probably do worse than you
Anything as long as it isn’t swamp 2.0 or has annoying timegated kitten.
As for specific historical stuff, I’d love to see Liadri or other gauntlet bosses as fractal
Did you disagree for the sake of getting the last word?
Nah I just like getting into pointless discussions on the forums because its more enjoyable than the game itself, and there hasn’t been enough kittenposting lately.
/s (or not)
Anyways, if you clearly said that, then why do you even respond to him and make it look like you’re proving him wrong while you apparently agree with him?
Please don’t take my chance at having the last word, I worked hard for it
You know, the majority of SC members has very high AP and they are one of the guilds with highest skills in PvE. AP only tells you one thing: how invested you are to the game.
Wrong it shows just how much noninstanced content person plays…. It shows that he plays alot of OpenWorld PvE what is the content with the lowest skill required.
In a way, AP doesn’t show you how much instanced content the person plays either.
For one good example: a good friend of mine, Jerem, 28,589 AP, was one of the leaders of Snow Crows. He is a daily farmer, achievement addicts kittenorts to PvP just enough to get the Champion titles that he needs. He has all other Edge of the Mist achievements – the most boring thing in this world I disgust. He did enough map completion to build up 12 legendary weapons. At a glance, he looks like a dirtiest casual chinese farmer. BUT, he is the one of the best mesmers in EU. He was in at least 80% of SC dungeon records. He was in one of the earliest raid teams that cleared the wing. AND, he got that AP number 5 months ago – currently MIA.
At the same time, the number of mastery doesn’t guarantee a player is good or bad. AP or Mastery just shows how dedicated a player is, or how much they play in different aspects of the game. That said, they are still a much more interesting conversation starter than a low AP player.
And what exactly does this prove? I have a friend with 27,000ap that doesn’t know how to dodge lupi’s kick
Nice, I have 19k AP. Is it clear enough that I wasn’t talking/referring/responding/making a point to you? How’s about reading everything with its context? [The original context is quoted below. Please disregard if readers have been aware.
Should have probably worded my response a bit better.
The person you responded to stated that open world content requires pretty much no skill, which is true.
And even tho it grants achievement points, how much “skill” did (in this case) Jerem actually earn from farming achievements, and would he have been a worse player than he is now if he wouldn’t have farmed them?
AP is a horrible indication of skill, but sadly the only one available in a quick glance before seeing someone actually perform.
And as much as I hate judging by AP, I have to admit that when an 800ap ranger joins my pug, I generally assume that its just gonna be a really bad player
This all coming from someone with about 4000ap that was also in one of the first groups that cleared the raid (since apparently that’s some kind of great achievement)

Got my only one about 6 months ago, and I pretty much ran aether daily with my guild.
Did you forget that pvp content is inherently more difficult than pve content?
You forgot the /s here
And tbh I’d rather have tomes and transmutation charges from pvp than endless loads of ascended stuff you get from fractals and raids, which you usually already have before even starting them.
Wanna trade my bank tab full of celestial rings for your tomes? ty
(edited by bladex.9502)
Just put your character on the arah waypoint, go watch stuff and check back every few minutes to see if the event started.
I literally see it go by a few times a day when standing in Cursed Shore talking to friends, I think its on about an hour timer
Good, content for pro player only…
If only we actually got content for “pro player” :’(

You know, the majority of SC members has very high AP and they are one of the guilds with highest skills in PvE. AP only tells you one thing: how invested you are to the game.
It tells you how much you are invested in all areas of the game.
If you just do dungeons/fractals/occasional SW you end up with 3-4k ap and no progression at all, even tho you might have completed dungeon master 1500 times.
The people that have high AP usually farmed LS and dailies
You can do them for collections too.
But I guess it will be a pain to pug them now, worse than before nerf.
Pugging actually isn’t that bad now that the “5K ap+” crowd left.
Its just newbies that actually ask for help, or at least just tag along, and people from hardcore guilds pugging for fun.
I still pug Arah every night because I like doing it, and I usually find a group pretty quickly, and its often a better group than before the nerf
Yes there are addons like this, but we can’t link them because you get forum banned for it.
Just google “gw2dps” and you should be able to find multiple addons that measure DPS for you
High lvl Ascalon fractals are still pretty challenging. Especially in solos / duos.
The only challenging thing about Ascalon Fractal is playing a Charr character model
Its Twitch, what do you expect?
They should just let chat have their memes and it will calm down after a while, the constant sub mode and kitten to try to calm it down just encourages them to spam harder.
That being said,

Hope- and senseless
Pointless and idiotic post with no actual content.
Dude, you don’t even read their assistant posts and just blaming the random groups, that they don’t want to have you as a ranger in their groups.
You have the opportunity to build a squad yourself, you know?
We killed several bosses with “just” a ranger or two. You have absolutely no clue what you are talking about. From experience, yes I do. It goes all the way back to other aspects of the game where ranger was excluded. Not to mention friends who click to join a group and are kicked immediately.
Ranger was never excluded, the only place where ranger got kicked was in pugs, which as a reminder of their intelligence level, still think AP equals skill.
The reason Ranger got kicked however was because of players like you, who don’t care about playing efficiently, and basically just fill up a spot that could have been filled by someone that actually contributes something.
I used to play ranger a lot in dungeon tours, and there were lots of paths where replacing the thief with a ranger made it a lot faster
I beg to differ. RANGER is left out. The meta wont allow them and neither will the elitists. They are kicked immediately unless they run druid.
Same goes for warrior not taking tactics or ele not taking air i dont see your point. Its like saying i cant play how i want cause people want me to bring the best spec i can bring, its a teamgame you wont get far with egoism.
Making a minor change in the build is not what I’m talking about here. You obviously aren’t truly understanding what has been put before your eyes. A ranger could be maxed out and ready to do tons of damage but will be kicked unless he runs druid. A warrior doesn’t have to CHANGE his basic concept at all. Same goes for the other classes, they just do what they normally do with a few modifications and the really awesome elite classes that ANeT gave them – which made them vastly more powerful than before. Ranger got healing.
Time to head back to ranger sub mate, you will have more success with an anti-meta-QQ thread there.
Standard elitist attitude. Doesn’t want to see a different point of view.
Explain your different point of view to me?
All you’re doing is QQing about ranger being bad and healer only, and how its getting kicked, even tho everybody here is trying to explain to you why you are wrong and how ranger isn’t even in a bad spot.
There is no reason to take a pure healer druid in the current raid content since its simply not challenging enough damage-wise, and the passive damage can be easily outhealed in viper/berserker gear with staff on swap.
All problems you are bringing up are l2p issues, and have nothing to do with other people being elitist, its just you expecting to be carried while contributing kitten all
But yeah, good to see ranger still attracts bad players that like to blame their own issues on other people being “elitist”
I beg to differ. RANGER is left out. The meta wont allow them and neither will the elitists. They are kicked immediately unless they run druid.

I would say a hardcore player is someone that is a really good at the game, constantly tries to improve and participates in things like record runs.
Semi -hardcore is a bit of a broad definition but I think it usually applies to someone that does want to be efficient but doesn’t take the game as serious as real hardcore players.
Casual is your standard staff guardian or minionmancer necro that likes to upscale events by being completely useless, or pugs that think AP is a good indication of skill
(edited by bladex.9502)
I heard we’re also getting Fractal leaderboards this year, Kappa
Nice ele rotations :’)
w0w ty for u help im new to game i was play thief healer but now imma guardian XDDD
I honestly don’t really mind the reward nerf since I never really ran them for rewards anyways, and with recipes its still decent gold.
The problem imo is that the rewards are horribly imbalanced now, even more than before.
SE p2 gives 33s, Aether gives 66s, while Arah p2 gives 1g?
Actual dungeon runners that did dungeons for fun will return to them when they get bored of HoT content anyways, I pretty much ended up doing a daily dungeon tour again.
If you like them, nothing is stopping you from still running them
Warrior, ele, thief, engineer
Not sure you can put engineer in high mobility and dps at the same time.
Engie has to sacrifice their dps for mobility, unlike the other 3.
Depends on what you call mobility.
Engineer has a lot of leaps out of combat, a lot less in combat, but same goes for elementalist
Warrior, ele, thief, engineer
When leveling up my Daredevil a few weeks ago I soloed every story mode while being around the intended level (30 for AC etc).
Story modes are ridiculously easy, the only challenging one is probably CoE, but if you learn the mechanics its easily doable.
And if you really want to find a group, there are usually more story-related LFGs than explorable-related LFGs
RIP dungeon discussion thread 2014-2016, you will be missed
I already ran the client repair and it didn’t help.
It might be my harddrive, but I find it a bit strange that literally every other part of the game works fine, its just that one character that I somehow can’t log in to
