There’s only very few bosses where its actually needed to do double freeze (Mossman, Svanigandr, Ancient Ooze when there isn’t a mesmer).
Also, you don’t hold on to your icebow, you coordinate when the eles drop their icebow so the second ele drops it when the defiance is removed again after the first freeze.
Holding on to your icebow is a huge DPS waste, and there is no reason to do that in “organized groups”

first ele will drop ice bow before fight starts and immediately deep freeze on boss spawn/as fight starts. Thief immediately removes defiant and either picks up second ice bow or whoever picked up the second ice bow freezes. This is used on pretty much every boss as it takes the thief the duration of the cast of ice bow 4 to remove all 5 defiant stacks. So if you picked up ice bow and a thief is in the party hold onto the ice bow if it takes thief a bit longer to remove last defiant stack so you can get a second freeze off.

Dropping an icebow before the fight even starts is a huge DPS waste.
For an optimal rotation the 1st ele starts in fire, uses meteor shower, swaps to water, uses icebow, swaps to air and uses glyph of storms and back to fire.
Second ele starts in air, uses glyph of storms, swaps to water, uses icebow, swaps to fire and finishes rotation.

If you drop an icebow before the fight even starts you’re wasting the 10% water damage boost.
Only fights where this is necessary are, like Thaddeus said, bosses that you want to keep in 1 place because otherwise they move out of AoE’s.

On top of this comes that if you want to remove 5 defiance stacks in the 5s period of a deepfreeze, you need to camp pistol offhand for every boss, and that’s a huge DPS loss for the thief.

Like I said, in a truly optimized group where you actually communicate, elementalists use different rotations from eachother to maximize DPS output.
Holding icebows is only necessary if you want to heal your team with the autoattack :’)

Try activating your signets on skips for signet precision stacks tho, you can shave off a bit of time like that

I think I did my first Aetherpath with a group of pugs that were also all first timers.
Took about an hour.
Its probably more of a “I’m scared to try it myself” attitude because so many people say Aetherpath is too hard

So yeah, apparently after patch gw2 does something to my CPU that it doesn’t like.
Before the patch whenever I checked it was usually around 55-60C
I also opened Black Ops 2 just to compare the temperatures and my CPU was around 70C there, while Black Ops 2 has a lot higher graphical requirements.

I run a setup with an i7 2600k, 16GB of ram and an EAH5450 GPU.
I generally use my computer for audio production/processing purposes, and I don’t play any games outside of gw2, so I didn’t really feel the need to buy an expensive GPU.

Before the 25th of august patch I was able to play the game smoothly on medium-high settings, averaging about 30-40FPS.
Since 2 days ago I’m suddenly averaging around 15FPS on lowest settings, and even less FPS (5-10) in fights with graphically heavy animations (icebow, meteor shower, burn particles etc).
I don’t have any packet loss at all, and average around 40 ping.
The only thing I can imagine that caused this is that they severely updated the game’s graphics, but I don’t see any visual representation of that at all.

I focus on the more hardcore aspect of dungeon and fractal running, and this FPS issue basically makes the game unplayable for me.
I’ve heard of friends/guildies that they are also experiencing FPS drops after patch, but not as heavy as mine.

Does anyone know what might be the cause of this, and more welcome, a possible fix?
I know it might be related to my GPU not being top tier, but I currently don’t posses the money to upgrade it, and I honestly don’t think its worth spending 100+ euros on a GPU just to play 1 game for a few hours a day.

Any help is appreciated!

Same thing goes for warriors in PvE.
People usually just see warrior as the banner boy, and easy might supply.
And honestly, its pretty much true, because there isn’t much more to it than autoattacking and occasionally pressing 2 and 3 on greatsword.
There are some damage modifiers that require a bit of effort to keep up, like the extra damage on empty endurance, and extra crit chance from signet precision, but overall its just too simple.

I wish they would make warrior a bit more complex, and add more synergy to traits

If you really find this a big issue, just uninstall the game

Stop putting yourself in a victim role.
If they made male characters able to wear dresses 90% of the community would complain, as opposed to the very small amount of people that complain now.
Just accept that the game is designed to cater the majority of the community, the majority that doesn’t wear clothes of the opposite sex

Tested lupi.
Autoattack still hits in melee, oneshotting works, and he still teleports all over the kittening place randomly without any target.
Belka also still randomly kittens you up with her “massive ranged damage” while in melee range.
Its amazing how Anet prioritizes fixing something un-harmful that people are just having fun with over game breaking, progress impeding bugs

Basically, all those classes except for necro are really good.
You don’t have to stick to 1 class tho, I main warrior but I also play ele and thief quite often.
Just play what you love most

1) Thief indeed had a trait that gave them a damage boost, but afaik that trait is gone.
Every class but the warrior is fine to pick up icebows, since warriors cant stack might while using icebow.

2) Icebow 4 is always a DPS boost, 3 is only a DPS boost in melee range and deepfreeze is a DPS boost if your elementalists are using tempest defense, or when you are able to disable certain mechanics that allows elementalists to finish their channels (meteor shower, glyph etc)

3) I usually freeze, 4 and then 3 (when in melee range) and drop it

Hence the title, I’m looking for (reasonably english speaking) people to lowman content with on a regular basis.
All I ask is that you are familiar with the dungeons and encounters, and know how to play your class.

I’m experienced with duoing all dungeons, especially arah.
I main warrior and elementalist, but I can also play thief reasonably.

Afaik LFG automatically gets removed after a certain period of time if there’s only 1 person in it. Happens pretty often with my dirty elitist LFGs that might take a while to fill up.

It’s exactly 5 minutes in my case. I don’t think it’s long enough to justify the removal. Hopefully it’s a bug though.

Its not a bug, it always happens as far as I remember.
When I make a lfg mentioning that we’re not oneshotting lupi it usually gets removed at least 2 times before someone joins.
Its pretty annoying, but I understand why its there

You don’t have to play hammer.
I don’t play guard myself, but I’m almost sure GS is perfectly viable, if not better.
If you prefer using GS, what stops you from using it? you’re playing with friends after all, not with elitist pugs that will cry about everything that is non-meta.
I know for instance that GS is really good at cliffside because it has a pull on the 5 ability.
Every weapon has their own uses for different situations, and you should learn those and swap accordingly

Like Jerus said, you can do fractals with any team comp, using any build you want, some are just going to be a little bit more efficient than others.

The “meta” team comp would be 2 elementalists, 1 warrior, 1 thief and 1 guard/mesmer.
You can replace 1 of the elementalists with a second warrior, but that makes you miss out on a bit of DPS, but mainly support (blinds, reflects with magnetic aura, etc)

I don’t know how experienced you and your team are, but if you are not experienced with high level fractals I would not advice to set foot in them without a guard, since the loss of a guard’s protective function can be pretty rough

Basically every group comp works, but the standard 2 ele 1 war 1 guard 1 thief comp just allows you to do pretty decent DPS while not risking too many wipes

Honestly, I wish they would scrap the whole “You need to take X trait line to use Y weapon” idea.
Torch, as well as Warhorn on ele have so much potential as weapons you just quickly swap to when out of combat, or even in combat in niche situations.
But the trait lines you have to take to use them are just flat out useless.

I know its so that people that didn’t buy the expansion can’t use those weapons, but it doesn’t benefit the game at all

Feel like Berserker is yet another useless specialization PvE-wise.
The new, more frequent burst skills and extra quickness, as well as the 14% extra ferocity for 15 seconds while in berserker form sound good.
But the minor and grandmaster traits are both absolutely useless in PvE, unless conditions suddenly become meta.
Torch offhand doesn’t look more useful than mace in a group setting.
So giving up an entire traitline, just for 2 seconds of quickness and a small ferocity boost just sounds kinda pointless to me.

Looking back at my previous posts I might have been a bit harsh.

Like I mentioned before I personally don’t have any problem with support builds.
I wouldn’t kick anyone from my group if he’s using a support build, unless I specifically asked for players to run a specific kind of build.
In fact, I would just embrace it and enjoy the safety net it provides.

I just somehow got triggered by the fact that she had to make 3 threads about it in a short time, just to prove her point, while I felt this was unneeded and un-asked for.
A while back I posted something here, and my friend posted something regarding the same topic in another subforum.
It got massively reported and I got an infraction for double posting.
Yet Skady makes a post pretty much the same to her first one, a day after the first one is reported and moved, and no action is taken and people even appreciate her for her effort.

At this point I got a bit salty and responded to the thread, questioning the need for it, and I claimed she was just doing it for attention.
Again, I had no harmful meaning before this, the only thing I posted on the first thread was a video of one of my lupi kills with a clerics guard, to jokingly show how support classes generalize content and make even the hardest of bosses faceroll.

I don’t know exactly what her intentions were, only she knows that, and it was wrong of me to assume something while not being sure if it was actually true.
It might have something to do with English not being her (and mine) first language, as well as cultural differences

I guess i’ll apologize if I’ve hurt anyone’s feelings in my (partially drunk) rant.
And I also want to apologize to Skady for possibly misinterpretating her good intentions and talking down on her for it

You could at least ask if they don’t mind you to switch to your lower level character at the endboss, and usually they don’t mind.
If you really insist on doing the entire dungeon on your low level character just make an “all welcome” LFG.

I personally leveled my first character, a ranger, the most hated class of all from level 50 to 80 doing dungeons, while having 300ap.
And I never got kicked.

I saw it as a lighthearted exaggeration. The point, I believe, is that not everyone is able to play with the skill level required to do FotM 50 in zerk, that there aren’t a lot of videos available of trios at that level, and that she was inviting people to share their videos for comparison if they had them.

The reason there aren’t many videos on that specific subject is because it honestly isn’t worth capturing.
Everybody that is able to do a fractal 50 in a 5 man setup (without getting carried) is also able to trio it.
Apparently tho, she thinks its so interesting that she has to make 4 threads about it just to convince everybody of the skill level required to trio a fractal.

Trio fractals are exactly the same as five man fractals, you just miss out on a bit of DPS, so the fight takes longer and you actually have to bind your dodge key.
Every argument you gave in this thread can be solved by using your dodge key.
You want eles to not have to interrupt their meteor shower? deepfreeze the boss.

Having to use tank/healing gear for “smooth” runs just indicates that you lack knowledge of the mechanics.

People refrained from kittenposting on the first thread, posting a second thread after the first one was reported and moved is just provocative, unnecessary and makes you look like a really bad troll that’s just looking for attention

You keep giving examples that only “sesshi-level players” can trio a fractal smoothly in berserker gear (while even Sesshi told you its bullkitten).
But honestly, I could get 2 random friends that have never done a fractal trio before, and as long as they know the mechanics of the bosses and use their dodge key/blinds/freezes efficiently we could still do a smooth run without the need of any healer gear.

They are not using any record strats at all, and still do it 15-20 minutes faster than your described runs, just by using proper gear and knowing mechanics.
They even wipe once, but the time they lose by wiping is greatly made up by actually doing DPS instead of wasting 1 character to function as a safety net.

Like I said in the last thread, I don’t have any problem with you using healing gear in your personal runs if it works for you, but stop trying to convince others that its better.
Maybe I like to do my fractal trios with a support necro and 2 trapper rangers for DPS, but I don’t post 2 threads about it, because I know people are gonna respond to it and tell me i’m wrong.
You should have known this too if you ever visit the dungeon subforum, because if you’re gonna post something like this that provides nothing constructive or helpful to 99% of the players, you’re either gonna get people that agree with you, or people that don’t agree with you

Depends on your group indeed.
With pugs, I would probably say SE p1, TA fwd and CoF p1
With an organised group, SE p1, HotW p1 and HotW p2, but also all CM paths and AC p1

You can do all those paths within 5 minutes with a competent group.
If your group consists out of randoms of which you’re not sure if they know what they are doing, its best to go with the more safe paths like CoF p1, because there’s a higher change of doing them smoothly without wipes, opposed to dungeons like HotW

First, toughness helps with agro, that agro allows the other two to focus on their rotation to melt the boss.

Aggro patterns differ per boss, Anet made it that way to make a designated tank useless.
If you really want to use a tank, you should take a nomads ele, since elementalists will get boss aggro more often than other classes

Its been like that since the stability changes.
Grast only gives himself 1 stack of stability now, so if he gets hit by a normal knockback attack, that stability stack will be gone when the rocks fall.

Try to keep Rumblus away from Grast a bit, and if Grast does get knocked down, you can lure Rumblus to the stairs in the back of the room since the rocks dont fall there
