I like the fact that agro is based on toughness. The boss is distracted by me while I net and overcharge shot him to keep him distracted while the heavy dps people in my party slam his hp. As long as I can keep a little distance everything goes smoothly.

I would be ok with designated areas to duel. Some of the less traveled areas could get some much needed traffic. Something along the lines of " you are entering an open pvp area" as a warning when you enter said area.

Bring your zerker armor with you into wvw – I want the badges.

Don’t care if LoJ and DH keep us outmanned more than half the time, good fights from both sides.

Engineer is useless? Hardcore players won’t take em on a dungeon run? If by hard core you mean cookie cutter builds for a specific situation. My elixir engi is able to do content across the board (I don’t spvp) almost standing on his head. Maybe they should change the bits of content that the leet (cookie cutter grinders) flock to.

Why did we need another mount thread? It was split about 50-50 in every other thread and now someone wants them to fly too? Stop trying to ruin the game for half of the population by adding useless shtuff. How about they fix the bugs and do some balancing? How about an arena for aerial combat – that I would be kewl with.

I thought about transferring but just can’t seem to do it. Nsp has been my home since launch. Outmanned a lot of the time, terrible coverage but I have seen some kewl tactics used by the good commanders.

Yep it’s the problem with having 1 daily per account, not having karma currency transfers or accountwide karma, and other issues this game faces. They want us to enjoy the wide range of classes they offer yet hold back progression for these alts with machinations that aren’t there to harm bots but are there to harm players.

I don’t think they are aware they are harming the players…. Actually they are harming themselves as well if you think about it… The current system causes alts to look less desirable till you manage to gear 1 character….. meaning less alts…. Meaning less character slots are bought…. It goes on further but I’m sure you understand what I’m saying with that.

The only real way to fix the system in its current form would be to reduce costs of the gear across the board…. The other fix would be to simply allow players to craft the gear like the originally said they were going to do… Instead I sense more currencies being added to the game.

My advice is 1 main 2 secondary and the rest just for random fun. I don’t see them changing the setup so limit who you gear.

This is what I’m trying to draw attention to… Some players don’t want to even have alts if they can’t manage to gear them in a timely manor. This cuts into both player fun and company profits. Over a very long time this system would work out but the time gating is just causing more frustration then not.

Actually they could merge the currencies across the board for one, make dailies a per character thing, retro our achievements to give us a buttload of laurels, change the world exploration achievement so it doesn’t force people into a PVP zone (because that worked so well for Aion you know), actually balance PVE for the three weakest classes in the game to bring them on par with the known favorite professions. Ton of options there to make improvements on so they can be alt friendly.

Anet has lost out on at least 2 character slots I would have bought let alone the extra bag space and whatnot. A currency exchange would be nice – I could do something with the 130+ jugs of karma sitting in my bank to help out my alts. The way it is now I can rarely play anything other than my main and 2 seconds.

GoM and Dh must have been to busy fighting each other last nite to have anything to do with us. An awesome night of small group action in Eb against some decent players. Much better than trying to dodge huge zergs.

Try some spvp – you might change your mind.

Mounts – as long as they are small and have no speed buff I’m cool with it
Pve culling – It doesn’t happen to me so it might be your machine
Raids – They tried open world “raids” in orr. I’m thinking they might not be good at designing stuff like that
Loot tables – There are some dragon specific stuff for sure. I’ve gotten a pieces from Shatterer and Claw
Minipets – put them in an invisible bag so they won’t deposit
Outmanned – My server is usually outmanned and yeah it kinda sucks fighting huge zergs when you have a 20 man but there are strategies to breaking up a zerg with 5 man havoc teams
Content updates – Honestly I would rather that they finish balancing and polishing before they release ANY more content.
I believe that the first year is being treated like an extended beta to see what works with the system and what doesn’t. Hopefully we will see some more meaningful content when they finally sort everything out.

I really don’t feel like there are “areas” as long as you use good strategy.
1 – Keep food buffs up
2- Keep banner buffs up. LA usually has Guild banners up and the buff is worth the Wp cost.
3- Don’t stop moving and use speed buffs the faster you move and kill the more money you make.
4- Try to use lots of Aoe. Kite as many mobs as you can handle into a bundle and kill them all at once.
5- Don’t go too far out of your way for resource nodes – they slow you down unless it’s tier 5 or 6 because they just don’t make you enough money per hour.

Honestly laying there dead for more than 5 minutes will just waste their time when they could be back fighting. I only “dead scout” long enough to get numbers and directions called out then Wp.

If you want mounts play something else. It takes at most 5 minutes at most to cross a map. Do you want animations on them too? Well that’s just great jumble up the screen some more and probably drop fps. And what about the poor Asuran? Have you noticed that in a group it’s hard to see the little guys so lets add big ol war horses or something even bigger to make the problem worse. If you weren’t so lazy and read all of the other threads you would see that just like dueling, mounts are something that runs about 50/50 with some wanting some not. The difference is that dueling can be kept to a small area of the game while your useless mounts would be all across pve and even worse if they added them to wvw. So no – no mounts.

Charr Engi – but that’s my main so I’m probably biased.

Black citadel already has a fighting pit they could use for dueling. I’m not a huge fan of dueling but if so many people want it give them the option somewhere out of the way.

I played 1000’s of hours in Gw1 and I can tell you for fact that it needed more than a couple more player races, new big map or level cap increase. All of those useless or double skills, instanced maps and waiting for a monk for everything (just to name a few) made me very happy when I finally got to play Gw2. Don’t get me wrong I still love the original but it was time to evolve.

I throw away bltc as soon as I get them – They are nothing but wasted space.

I like how it shows GoM killing mostly DR to help put the server alliance thing to rest. On a different note I make it a point to kill Zombieland players because they are always at the front lines.

I farmed the living excrement out of Gw1 and there was Dr. I personally don’t have any problems with it in either game – all you do ikitten different zones in a rotation to stay ahead of it.

I think that I read in another discussion that capes weren’t introduced because of the problems with clipping. The armor on my Charr has enough of that without a cape.

I’m pretty sure that dungeons, Wvw and spvp are still considered the end game. A lot of bugs have been fixed but a few new ones have popped up. I suggest just jumping back in and seeing if it is your cup of tea. The worst that can happen is that you find out that there is still nothing to do that you care for and log out. Check the patch notes that have been posted since you left.

Charr usually have their birth name followed by a given name then the name of their legion. I didn’t know this at first so only one of my charr has that setup. Alia-birth, Bitter-given Blade-legion.

Why not go with a boost that will allow you to farm faster instead of trying to get more loot per drop?

So what you are trying to say is that the game specifically chooses certain players to screw over? The game universe cares enough to say Tigirius is a pretty lame person so lets screw with his drops? If that is what you believe I feel sorry for you.

Top reasons from people I know for quitting WvW :-
1. being continually wiped by the zerg
2. PVD, game is just a goldsink if no 24 hour coverage
3 computer cant handle zerg warfare
4 the repetitiveness, 3 maps are basically the same
5 roaming is pretty pointless peak time
6 the fact WvW players are 2nd class citizens, no ascended, loot is terrible mostly and you can make far more cash doing something else.
7 nothing for winning
8 terrible league table, fighting same servers for weeks on end
9 another game has just come out

There’s probably many other reasons many people I’ve known just stop playing. Anet need to get a grip with their development team, because atm they seem unable to introduce a change that doesn’t alienate a large chunk of players with each patch. Every serious WvW player I know pins great hopes on the game coming out later this year having better realm v realm combat.

I do believe that you covered about all of the bases. 1,2,5 and 7 are the main reasons I don’t play wvw more. I love the idea of it but the more I play the more I realize it has some serious issues.

if the forums are a good indicator there are many who feel more a sense of lack than reward from the current tuning of the loot system in the game. Raine 1394 I don’t find this to be true as I have been reading the forums for months and for the most part it is mostly the same people complaining every time.

I have come to the conclusion that this first year is an extended beta – testing out new ideas and getting stuff a little more balanced. I’m not expecting anything really cool yet.

I really wish they would delete these threads as they are just complaining and a waste of time.

It’s the law of averages. Study basic statistics and you will see that some players will get far more some will get far less. I’ve logged about 1200 hours and gotten about 6 exotic drops. I’m not mad about it at all because it’s all about rng. Some days are better for me on good drops, other days I get garbage. It’s about averages.

As long as they don’t fly or have any speed buffs I wouldn’t have a big problem with it but with all of the attack effects with large groups of people I believe that mounts would just drag down fps with more animations. I mean come on is your mount not going to have a kick kitten animation? If it didn’t and had no buffs what would be the point? As for not being good at collecting things – wow what is one of the worst arguments for mounts I have heard on the forums yet.

You have to realize that if you roll a die 100 times you will get an average of three. sometimes you hit a bunch of ones, other times you get a bunch of sixes. As for the people that ping all of those exotics or 3 rares from an event or whatever already had that stuff in their inventory and are out to just make people jealous. Everyone rolls from the same loot tables. What really bothers me Tigirius.9014 is that even in threads that have nothing to do with loot drops your comments are " yeah x really sucks but when you add in the fact that some people get all the loot it makes it worse. My suggestion would be to change zones often and don’t try to farm for specific drops because it just doesn’t work. There is no reason for Anet to try to screw with a small number of players – that is just silly.

Cities didn’t die in Gw1 because of guild halls.

Allowing duels in guild halls would solve the debate of dueling in WvW. We ran 1v1 and 2v2 all the time in Gw1 to refine builds and strategy. A nice quiet place without a bunch of npc’s spouting the same stuff over and over while I switch up skills or sort through all my loot would be nice too. Give me a guild hall.

Until recently I had only played pve content. I had no problem running with turrets and getting them to work it just took a bit of work. The moment I started WvW I realized just how broken they are. The only use they have now is drop/2ndary/pop then wait for the cool down. It would be nice if they could use the Gw1 “<skill name> has been changed to pvp version” to help buff turrets in dungeons and WvW.

Sylvari are pretty much elves wich is why I can’t stand them. Gimme my Charr any day.

I didn’t care for the story other than some of the Charr and Norn arcs. I just don’t play any of the story line material on my other toons because there is plenty of other things to do. As a side note telling people that don’t agree with you to be quiet because the adults are talking – I know that when you leave I won’t miss you in game in the least.

Let me kill Trahearne so he can be a villain in an expansion. I haven’t finished my story yet but let me kill him please.

The cash you get for drops more than pays for your armor, weapons, trait books etc. I don’t get why it is such a big deal.

I agree with being able to turn it off from my end. It didn’t bother me to see it for no reason a month ago – now its starting to get annoying.
