If they have not played in a while, between living story and feature packs there has been a good amount of content added.
I’ve tried. Doesn’t have nearly the same punch as a properly marketed expansion. I hate to point to WoW but they were adding content constantly as well but what draws everyone back time and again? Expansions.
So if the 4 added story lines had been marketed as an ‘expansion’, with a zippy new box and all sorts of hype, and you had been charged 50+ bucks for it, you would now be happy?
No thanks. I will take Anet’s method of adding content. Doesn’t cost the user any $$, and if I don’t like one or more of them, I don’t feel like I wasted any $$.
Hate to tell you but that wasn’t an expansion worth of content.
Please explain why you are against a massive speed boost? Someone already mentioned that the combat itself remains the same with speed etc. Please note that you can’t fight on mounts usually. As a reminder, WoW has ground mounts up to 100% speed boost and flying mounts up to 310%.
It’s just an addition to the game. Why are people so against it? There is no real reason and the ‘reasons’ players listing are usually completely out of reason. It seems the only thing is they fear it is similar to WoW. Please note: mounts are very usual in almost any MMO – even in single player RPGs.
Why are people so against it?
1. Development time best spent elsewhere: Go find the threads that ask “what 5 things do you want added to the game” and mounts come in pretty low on the list.
2. Clipping: I cant even get decent armor for my Charr or Norn, do you really think there wouldn’t be clipping with mounts (unless you are human).
3. Performance issues: My minis already get culled on full maps, would your mounts be subject to this or would I have to put up with lower performance for YOUR mount.
4. Speed boost: A lot of mount people insist that mounts have a speed boost and don’t care if it makes the game unbalanced or force people who hate mounts to use them just to stay competitive.
These are the reasons that I agree with and there are more if you care to actually read a mount thread without your blinders on.
I will also leave you with a reason that is strictly my opinion. Mounts are ugly and I don’t want to have to see them. Period. It would be completely immersion breaking to me to be wandering around and have a Norn riding a moa go strolling by. Just no.
Allow players to deposit supply in towers to help with upgrades.
They didn’t listen to player feedback. They listened to review sites likes kotaku and tentonhammer. If they hadn’t received such harsh reviews on those sites nothing would have changed. So if you want to praise anyone go praise the people running those sites.
This would make sense, IF they didn’t announce the changes so soon after the articles turned up.
Changing things requires decision making and meetings, it is not just something taking 5 minutes and deciding to change it.
Another thing to keep in mind is that magazines that basically just work with sensationalist headlines in order to get a few extra clicks aren’t usually taken that serious by most smart people.
I have a bridge for sale. Would you like to buy it? Seriously I don’t get why you dismiss any complaint by the forums as not justified? Yes a lot of people take it way to far but you have to expect that because it’s the internet. What you fail to see is that this is another in a long line of bad decisions on the part of Anet since the China release (before that if you talk to some of the extremist). Go ahead and wear your blinders and defend every single decision they make. I for one will put my money where I am both entertained and don’t feel like I’m being exploited behind a wall of excuses about new players. BTW it was hours after it was announced on those sites that it was actually posted here.
(edited by bloodletting wolf.2837)
I’m going to be real honest here – the damage has been done. First the trait and npe debacle that effected me not at all but effected several of the people I play with. Second the announcement that they are considering removing white swords in WvW. Then you have the mess that this thread was created for. Anet will have to do something pretty stellar to get me to play and pay regularly again. It just seems like maybe this game isn’t for me anymore.
I will say that I feel pretty badly about how Gaile was treated in this thread and the anger against her was pretty uncalled for.
So far there’s an overwhelming voice that says this update is bull. The only dev “input” we’ve heard with in these 30 pages is that they are open to suggestions, which is basically a passive-aggressive way of saying “yea, nah. We’re not going to change it back but, look! We’re open to suggestions : ))))))))))”
So as they say: “The only winning move is not to play.”
No, literally, let’s just boycott gw2 till they realize they need to clean up their act.
Already called my guild and told them that I wouldn’t be on and why. They agree with me so we will move on to something else until Anet decides to knock off the foolishness.
You fail to understand 1 simple thing…. The people who are complaining were spending money, therefore the company WAS making money.
Oh? I keep seeing people in this thread that have claimed multiple times that they would never spend any money on the game outside of the original purchase. The thing is that those people that mainly spent actual money on gems are not really that effected by this change.
Funny I am effected and I spend more money on gems than I would paying for a sub. Removing the conversion history and not allowing me to only convert the exact amount I want seems awfully fishy.
Question people. Should we also be lobbying to reduce the amount of gems bought with cash? Why has there been no rage on that subject? Why have we remained complacent on that subject as well? Are there no parallels to be drawn here? Honest question. Where is the rage? Shouldn’t the cash to gems system be on par with the currency conversion system to remain fair and balanced? The more I think about it, the more I realize there are a lot of mental hurdles people have to clear to wrap their head around the logic behind their choices.
Why screw the paying customers for the non paying?
After sleeping on it I have decided not only will I not spend money on gems every pay day, I’m just not even going to log in.
I can’t wait to see how much they lose from this. They are obviously thinking we are a small group of people, I think they underestimate us.
I’m more interested in how long it will take for articles about this to start showing up on gaming sites. If/when that happens I have a feeling it won’t be good for box sales/word of mouth.
As someone who only ever bought gems with cash, this new system doesn’t affect me in the slightest. (In fact, it kinda makes it more convenient for when I buy gems to trade for gold, since I often sell the gems in the same 400/800 etc. bulk packages that I bought them in.)
BUT, I do agree that making the new system more flexible would be a good idea. Allowing people to purchase gems in 100 step increments (or maybe even smaller), seems like a fair compromise.
I have only converted gold→ gems twice and buy gems every pay day. My main issue is the conversion history being removed so I cant track peaks and valleys so I get the most use out of my gems. The other issues I have with it are mostly minor and mostly coming down to too much mouse clicking if the prices are low but I really need the gold.
Ok, guys. Some of you are unhappy about this change, I can see that. BUT… quite honestly, most of you are sort of (I hate to use the word) ranting (sorry!) instead of offering suggestions.
I assure you, the team leader told me not 15 minutes ago, they will listen to suggestions.
- Does that mean you get everything you want? Probably not.
- Does that mean you should suggest something? Yes, of course! Because they’re expecting player input.
So you want lower increments? Think it through and present a suggestion! You want XYZ in the interface? Post that idea. You would rather see something else? Post what you think about that other thing. Please don’t get into the whole “I’m going to kick the devs and their little dogs, too” because it’s not doing you or us any good at all.
I’m not here to apologize. I’m here to communicate and right now, the communication is coming in without a whole lot of substance. Over to you for suggestions and constructive input!
I would like to know why the conversion history was removed. I used that to get the best deal on my gems that I spent my hard earned money on. Also perhaps a custom conversion order button could be added. If the prices are low but I really need the gold I only want to convert the exact amount that I need.
Another thing to keep in mind is that if you are always getting your Gems from Gold, you as a player are not contributing a dime to A.net except with your initial purchase of the game. Only those that buy Gems with real money are providing income. For those that say what if I want 1 Gem, or 25 Gems or what ever miniscule amount it was, think about it, does that really make sense? For those that complain about having left over amounts of Gems, at some point in the future there will be an item that will allow you to use that left over amount of Gems and get back to zero(0) balance, I’ve seen it before in other games, and with other companies that use sort of the same thing but not even in game(looking at BioWare points). So before you go flying off the handle and swearing up a storm, and not offering constructive criticism, try and look at it from the companies point of view: they have statistics, remember, what only 2% of the people want does not a system make(that’s just an example).
I don’t use gold for gems. I don’t want to be pigeon holed into converting my gems into amounts dictated by anet. I convert my gems into gold for what I need and not more. And why take away the conversion history? I used that to get a good deal for my gems.
Not spending any more cash on this game until this is reverted.
I just can’t….Why would…I don’t…..
The stupid is so strong with this decision.
A simple summary of the problem I have with the megaservers:
I traded a familiar community of people who would struggle together to complete interesting events with maybe too few people for a faceless zerg led by a commander that can’t lose where I have to hope I do enough damage to creatures that die before they are finished rendering and to a boss I can sometimes barely see to get credit for the event.
Not. An. Improvement.
As time goes on, server pride will be replaced by guild pride. It’s going in that direction and has been for some time.
Guilds are just like what you describe…my guild is still a group of people I see all the time.
I have to disagree with server pride being replaced with guild pride. It might work this way for pve but not wvw. I like the people on my server. I know who most everyone is and what they are capable of. I don’t want to be forced to join a large guild because that just isn’t me. I have both guild pride and server pride – I shouldn’t have to choose between the two.
Mega servers ruined calling for help in the cities when you needed it or recruiting for your wvw guild.
I agree with Berk. Not. An. Improvement.
EotM is probably the most rewarding train out there by a longshot. Karma, Gold, WXP and Badges beyond belief? Badges especially because it takes FOREVER to get in WvW. I got 2 the other day just for capping my own garrison, really? I would assume most people are there just to ktrain and many of them are PvE players trying to get to 80 as fast as possible. People tend to flock to the most rewarding game mode and that’s EotM. They really should haven’t added wxp and Badges to EotM, just more reasons not to play WvW.
That’s why EotM is popular/there is people using it yes. (that and the change of pace/difference with regular WvW, where you don’t need to organize, where it’s more fast paced and something different)
That’s not why EotM isn’t used as a “real” WvW map. WvW players wouldn’t mind the income for most (there is still weirdos wanting to crush the rewards to put them inline with WvW ones instead of the other way around, still don’t know why, they must consider earning income is “shameful” or something xD), but that map (and the way players/guilds/servers/whatever are matched to it) is just not tolerable for any sort of “serious”/competitive WvW.
It’s what the people pretending ktrain ruined EotM don’t get. There was roughly 2/3 weeks with people using it as a “real” WvW map at start. That the time it took for people to find all the cheesy chokepoints/ledges to fear people to death, kill bridges to death, AoE knockback to death, while realizing some sides had a MASSIVE advantage over other sides, and some objectives were simply not capable if there was just 5/10 defenders with siege in it(cough blue keep), with an insanely painful movement around the maps, far too much verticality, and so on and so on, and then totally lost interest in it.
Then for nearly a month EotM was empty on all sides… before people realized how profitable/easy to get xp it was in this place, wich made people come back there to level up and farm badges/karma/whatever.
That’s what happens, not ktrain people “forcing out” real WvW players out of EotM. Those ones took EotM exactly for what it was (not “serious” WvW and only a place to screw around for “lulz” once in a blue moon) and moved to back to WvW (specially with queues mostly disappearing at that time with players moving to other games and not coming back), and the maps were empty.
Oh and most WvW players don’t play for the rewards at all, they play because it’s fun as Hell when it’s not totally unbalanced (and even then you can find your fun here and there sometimes).
Putting the EotM rewards level in WvW would be a first step to bring people back in WvW too.
Right now, who in their right mind that aren’t in GW2 for the RvR/WvW (those players started GW2 AGGGGGGGGGGGGEEESSS ago and are on WvW already, or left already) would start and stay regularily in WvW outside of a couple people “falling in love” with WvW with the abysmal level of rewards and the insane gold sink that sieging/upgrading is ???Anyone see really fast that you easily do, without effort at all, more gold in 1h of (bad) dungeon running than in 3/4h of WvW (far more).
That’s a problem. WvW shouldn’t have 10% of the rewards other modes gives, while having 10000 times the gold sink…..
Just because you repeat the same thing over and over doesn’t make it true. Seems like you are pretty mad about these “cheesy” choke points and getting feared off of ledges. When I can find an overflow with actual fights it’s fun. I will never get the lets run in a circle avoiding fights and fighting doors style of play. I’m pretty sure Anet didn’t intend for the map to be used the way it is currently being used.
Why would you post this? Now we have another pointless mount thread that will waste everyone time.
This would ruin how I play wvw. I enjoy upgrading/defending towers and roaming while I keep my supply camp/mercs open. I love killing other roamers that want my yaks/camps/mercs. I am however in support of a game mode added with the guild hall idea. I miss testing builds and just for fun fights in the guild halls in GW1.
“this game isn’t for you” is simply the catch all defense for people adding in features they don’t like. Their hate for those features has no basis in logic or reality so they have to fall back on the catch all defense.
This includes things like:
Raids- Abundant and fun in GW1
Trinity- Also present in GW1, and after the 2 year of clear failure in GW2s removal clearly superior
Mount- Fit the lore, makes more sense, wanted by players. There isn’t any real reason for Anet not to add these things so the only defense players have against them is to try and force players to leave the game. Games evolve after release, things they tried didn’t work, they can change the original design to improve the game. Ascended gear is a prime example of this. The game was plummeting into failure so they changed their position on gear and saved the game.
I would like to request cyborg disco monkeys with flamethrowers cuz ets sew kewl. Ascended gear saved the game…..LOL
Why did this derail into a mount thread?
To all those leaving: Don’t let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya.
Good attitude. Empty mega server eventually must be your cup of tea.
It won’t.
Megamauler will continuously harass him to change instance due to the lack of players. Eventually, if everyone leaves, then he’ll end up getting a: “Sorry, there aren’t enough players to open an instance. Instead, you’ve been taken in a queue. Your instance opens in 109:45:29 hours, please be patient.” message instead..
You people flatter yourselves. It’ll take many more than the number of whiners in these forums to have a meaningfully negative impact on the future of GW2.
Says the guy with a 6 hour forum presence. It’s ok if you are new here but calling people whiners who genuinely care(d) for the game is just [deleted due to content]. More people leave the game without saying a word compared to the forums. Have fun new guy.
Oh I know. Many more people are upset than are represented on this forum because…
…wait for it…
This forum isn’t representative of the entire population of GW2 players!
You think maybe that these whiners (Yeah. I went there…) are overestimating their ability to damage a game that doesn’t even have a monthly subscription fee by picking up their ball and going home? Good riddance!
And by the by, if I talk about whiners and you take it personally, perhaps you should ask yourself why. If you think I need convincing that the whiners feel like they cared for the game without regard for the fact that they bothered to play in the first place, aren’t you insulting my intelligence?
Shazam!
Funny thing (haha) I spend more than a subscription on this game atm. The fact that I am rethinking this decision along with many others will effect you in the long run. I’m not leaving just yet if you bothered to read my original post. Why would I insult your intelligence? I neither know nor care who you are. I already know I’m not a whiner, you are just lumping people together under a close minded label.
My point still stands that if the developers of this game continue to ignore what the player base actually want then the game will die. People aren’t going to spend cash on gems or suggest the game to other people if the development continues to go in a direction that people don’t like.
Kapow?

I’m not leaving yet but it’s getting harder and harder for me to justify buying gems. A few more bad decisions from Anet and I will disappear.
People who come to the forums typically fall into one of two categories:
1. Those who have a strong opinion that they feel the world needs to know about.
2. Those who have a question and are looking for an answer.Paying people to post on the forums would not have any impact on group 1 and would only help group 2. Of course, there are plenty of people already helping group 2 for free, so paying people to post on the forums would mean they are paying people for no reason.
Still it begs the question. if you go and look at certain people’s times spent on the forums by watching their time stamps on their posts. they literally have only 8 hour slots between the times they come on here sometimes 6 which means that they are literally spending more time here then they are in game and only having enough time outside of the forums to actually do normal human things like shower, eat and sleep. And they are posting every hour on the hour.
Maybe because they tab out the game to check a thread they posted in every once in a while. Maybe because they use a second computer for the forums, farcebook, ts, Netflix.
I spend more a month on gems than I would a subscription but this would be a deal breaker. Anet have broken too many promises as it is.
You must be new. It doesn’t matter what we think, it won’t happen.
Edit: Give it some time, Anet will force EoTM style in WvW whether we like it or not.
Please buy more Gems.
If/when that happens I will leave and never look back.
I’m mostly happy. The good outweighs the bad atm but I have become increasingly concerned the past 6 months over the direction some aspects of the game have been taking.
What I’m unhappy with another type of player might be happy with so I guess it goes both ways. Some people just love to complain too.
OP read your first paragraph a couple times.
I would vote to let Anet choose, because having the forum choose would just be “GIB MOUNTS PLZ” and other stuff that will never happen. I would hate the CDI to just be “I’m sorry, but we will never be doing that.”
Actually when someone posts a thread about what do you want to see in game mounts rarely appear. Mostly the things people ask for is new zones, classes, weapons, skills – that sort of thing.
Please do this. I would like to know what you the developers consider issues that need to be fixed or what sort of content you want to work on – even if you have to abandon it later. I have been losing faith in the game lately and a road map would help me know whether to stay or quietly go elsewhere.
It’s really sad that they are doing this with no additional functions to the tag. I could probably justify the additional cost if it was more than a colored Dorito.
The failure that finally made me lose hope.
If you’re trying to claim that people don’t defend in Eotm, you’re quite mistaken.
If people are defending on EotM these days, things changed drastically… And for defending I don’t mean setting 1 or 2 superior ACs to do bag farm until the zerg is able to breach the gate. I mean serious defense to actually hold the godkitten structure.
It only takes 3 people to derail the ktrain. Defending in eotm is stupid easy.
Let’s take a poll, whether it’s not scientific or not.
http://strawpoll.me/2312877Let’s Not and say we did. This is Not about how many of the 3 % of the playerbase that bothers to Post on the forums favors speed-boost mounts or not.
we are not indicative of the opinions of the 97 % that play the game as if the forums did not exist.
What the pro-mount side needs is to provide compelling reasons. And what the anti-mount side needs is to not allow the pro-mount side to distract attention away from the fact that they are not providing compelling arguments for their proposition.
We have yet to see compelling arguments. Just distractions.
There have been compelling reasons, but you choose to ignore them, because you are ideologically driven against them.
Revenue for Anet.
Immersion.
Cosmetics (such as the broom).
Less reliance on constantly switching out weapons, traits, and utilities for Swiftness Boons.
Enhanced traveling options. Now, let’s look at the other side of the argument, “we already have waypoints!” Yes, very compelling. lol.
All waypoints do, is encourage people to use Swiftness Boons, instead of mounts. Why go through all the trouble of switching out weapons. traits, and utilities, when one can use a mount for the same purpose? In fact, it would enhance gameplay mechanics, by discouraging 50+ zergs, both in Champ trains, and WvW, but only if there were less waypoints.
Is this what GW2 has become? Is it any wonder the MMO genre population laughs at the mindless zombie zergs in GW2? They have a point. It requires no thought. Just do EotM for proof.
1. Hmmm revenue for Anet – they tested the waters with the broom and drill and I guess not enough people bought them because we sure haven’t had any more
2. Immersion? Someone riding around on whatever lore breaking creature would break my immersion.
3. Cosmetics (broom) see the first point – hell the 2nd one too.
4. Less reliance on switching weapons/traits/utilities – Class balance
5. Enhanced traveling options – perhaps you should explain this a bit more because it sounds like “I want” to me.
I want mounts. Why?
Because compromising my build to include perma 25% run speed is stupid.
Because paying through the nose for Traveler’s Runes, which provide little benefit other than perma 25% run speed, is stupid.
Because sacrificing a slot on my skill bar for perma 25% run speed is stupid.
This isn’t about having more maneuverability. People are doing this to move around faster.
Comments about not putting mounts in, what are they?
Takes up resources? Dumb. All content takes resources. Designing minis and tonics take resources. Is there a large scale protest against new minis?
Unnecessary because of waypoints? Dumb. People are already using builds with 25% perma boost. If speed boosts are unnecessary then replace signet of air and traveler’s runes and signet of locust speed boost with something else.
Because GW2 shouldn’t have mounts and players should go play other games that have it? This takes the Darwin prize. GW2 doesn’t have other pvp modes or duels or GvG or raids or “challenging content” or precursor crafting. Should this stop people from asking for them?
I like mounts and I’m prepared to support my argument with my wallet. More than RNG tickets or town clothes or more boosters or MORE BACKPIECES.
If you’re opposed to mounts let your wallet speak.
If you support mounts with your wallet then you bought the ones already in the gem store right? Maybe if more people bought them you would get more of them.
More practice it sounds like. 6/2/0/4/2 using carrion armor and all pvt trinkets would probably be a good start. Switch out the trinkets for more of a punch when you get a little better at moving while you fight.
Learn to switch between your kits/ranges and how to use all of your fields/finishers
I’m anti-mount myself but I have noticed more often than not it is the anti-mount people that keep bumping the mount threads by posting. That is why I held off posting until now. This thread was in downed state a while back and anti-mount posts rezed it.
Considering there are 2 mount threads running on the front page? Pro mount people will just keep spamming these useless threads.
Another one of these threads? (Insert “beating a dead horse” gif here.) I’m on a Tier 8 server for WvW, and while it may have taken a while, it is still doable. The thing is, you’re so used to running around in PvE where there’s no challenge to mapping that when it DOES become a challenge, you don’t like it because you can’t accomplish it as easy as mapping Queensdale.
Here’s a suggestion: Ask in map chat if anyone else needs a POI or vista that you need. If there are people that do need it, group with them and go get it or take it. Keep your eye on the matchups to see when your server has a Borderland you need to map. Yes, its a pain when your server is the same color for 3 weeks in a row, but it WILL change at some point. The WvW community is a fun bunch, and most likely will group with you to help. You’ll also get good loot. Every time you gain a WvW level, you get a rank up chest with cash and drops, each tower gives a champ loot bag, and you get ascended crafting mats if you’re level 80.
Are you upleveled when you go to WvW? It might help to be level 80 with full exotics all around, and food buffs. If you haven’t yet leveled up your crafting to 400 chef, and whatever armor and weapons you use, do that first so you’re not spending your hard earned gold on food buffs, armor, and weapons. You get achievement points for it, too. These forums have good topics on WvW builds for your class, so check those out as well. I’ll wager that when you get with a group that takes that tower you need the POI from, and stick with them when they take Bay, Hills, or Garrison on a Borderlands map, or a few other towers or camps, you’ll be hooked on the unique fun that is WvW.
One suggestion: always have supply!
Im level 80 with exotics/ascendeds its just I hate pvp content and it’s a drag to do something you dislike.
I hate PvE content it’s a drag to do something you don’t like and there is far more PvE content to do for a legendary.
mounts are coming, i can feel it.
and when it’s out, i bet the anti-mount geniuses will be getting them too
Nope I’ll take my money elsewhere. I don’t want to have to see more screen clutter and I don’t want to be forced to use them because of a speed boost.
Yes. The only spec that is viable in this game is pure DPS.
Said the PvE player.
I’m sure that it’s your machine or internet that sucks not the game. Have fun complaining on the ESO forums next.
Why would you balance something for PvE. You can mostly just slam your head into the keyboard to kill ai. The other weapon kits are viable xcept for Ft and that’s getting buffed.
You can play BOTH….. I have a LVL 80 of each class. It’s not an EITHER/OR selection process.
If you feel you need to be decked out in full ascended for roaming then no it isn’t. In a 1v1 situation between players of evenish skill level ascended makes a huge difference. Just the time gating on the materials for your armor/weapons adds up to about a month of grinding.
Swag yeah!! This bunny wants that k-train gone!
Ktrains have their place and time and I have no issue with them. With that said I have watched (and taken part in) efforts to bring EOTM back to more of a WvW map the past couple of weeks. It is up to the player base to dictate the way a game mode works.
Nah engineers really haven’t ever been in a bad place imo. They do take a bit of skill to play well but they aren’t much harder to play than elementalist. Your fire field and water field with your various finishers are always welcome in small groups let alone how many conditions you can stack in a short amount of time. Just picture an ele with more armor, less cast time and1 or 2 less attunements.
In my experience rushing to level 80 is a mistake. Take your time and learn your class. The first play through in pve is fun especially finding the hidden stuff like Vayne said. From what you have said though it seems like you are doing it “rite”.
…but after assessment, should I even try? xD
Hello fellow guild wars 2 players.
I played intensively the first 2 months at launch(when 100 gems were only a couple of silvers), unlocked a few bank slots at no charge, leveled my elementalist to 80, explored everything, etc. Then I left because there was no endgame and it became boring. I recently came back after almost 2 years and started a new character. But after looking at the market, I realized that the economy is out of whack
__
. My then-fortune of 15 gold is virtually worth nothing now. Exploring the maps with my new character still gives about 2 silvers (for a couple of hours) and dungeons give 1.5gold per path. Decent gear is worth in the Ks gold pieces from what I’ve seen. Looks to me that the only way for returning players to get somewhere without painfully grinding is to buy gems with cash and trade for gold xD. I’m currently wondering if I should just give up on this game and wait for another MMO to play at release. I really want to give this game another shot though, so here are some questions that would help me get back in it:1. What can returning players do to get back in the game WHILE having fun? Is it even possible?
2. How do players make gold nowadays? Are dungeons still the best way to go?Thanks!
1. Depending on your server WvW is the endgame (at least for me). You get to know the other people on your server community and using strategy against another human instead of ai keeps the challenge alive.
2. Pretty sure the last time I checked dungeons came in 1st if you are speed clearing and EOTM comes in second. EOTM nets you WvW ranks in addition to Karma and gold from selling drops/champ bags.
In addition to your questions 1) don’t grind for ascended armor unless you do fractals or roaming wvw. 2)Don’t focus on your loot drops – play the game for fun and enjoy when something really cool drops.
