Last time i checked i was playing toolkit + bombs on www and 3-kit bunker on tpvp.
Will be bad to lose 2 elixir but hell the one i get is much stronger now.
Its just 100nades attracted a bunch of uncreative ppl, admit it.
P.S. even if boon hate didn’t happen now it will really soon so i was discouraging ppl use HGH builds other than glory farm. They really have a bad influence on your skill

kit refinement (REFINE) now is for one kit builds. We’ll have to deal with it.
Can’t say i see it works for that case, though. Most one-kit builds i can pull do not have free 10 points for little add effect.

I think they will leave daily/montly as they are because they want you IN the game. And repeatable salvage one doesn’t help so they can kick it.
If they are having daily montly → ppl will do them again and again so they can buy new shiny even if those people are not into all other achievements.

Stun if good, of course, but you would have moving aoe confusion, fire, launch, retalation, chill, constant smoke field.. the one and only problem i see is aoe target limit, so people would have to be very organized with their field.
Though, GW1 team builds needed much more coordination.
I could see Kit Refinement moving to a 20-point slot.
As if it would really change most of builds who take KR + speed anyway.
You have tremendous amount of control, why would you need bunker on WWW? What do you want to tank?
Anyway, the only way to do at least some sort of damage being bunkered with Engi is via confusion (not nerfed on www), so you have to take crowbar + bombs. Shaman set, i suppose, and 3rd utility and skills are very very optional. Suit yourself.
I think the main problem with zerg www for engineer is that nobody yet tried to gather a group of 15-20 proper mix of grenadiers and bombers instead of warrior train. Playing a class for half a year i still can’t see how that damage+control could be mitigated.

Worse cooldowns and cast times, imho, and that guardian won’t dish damage to add on that control cake. In 5+ size parties, though, your argument is valid.

I’m too very interested in finding out some proof of better damage output (yeah, a spherical horse in a vacuum) from these components:
[zerk] | [rampager] gear
+
[might +60] | [ruby orbs] upgrades
+
[battle sigil] | [flame blast]
+
[30 alchemy] | [30 toolkits] (suggest we have 30 for gren/bombs in power always).
I’ve tried very different combinations and can’t say any are most shiny.

Yes they are. In a sense that we stay close to ranged enemies and a bit far from melee ones, effectively dishing damage in both ranges from almost all our weapons.
Most other professions have to dictate their own distance to win and we can choose the one which is good for situation.

Man. Rifle 4, Pistol 5, grenade 4, bomb 5, magnet 5, net turret are all very reliable CONTROL, no other class can bring this amount of control with him.

Not talking about 100nades. Talking about going pure grenade spammer. Like, 30 explosives, 30 alchemy, 10 tools/firearms/inventions HGH build, or whatever people run when they want to hit 2345-F1-111111111111111.
I didn’t know people used 100nades in PvE. It looks kind of lackluster in dungeons when you can only fire it off every 20 seconds.
I was just making the point that there are still some working builds that didn’t rely on kit refinement, that people have success with.
By 100nade i meant any build with rotation, not simple spam, which of course will include 20s skill which brings 5-8k damage to boss / even more to crowd.
What i wanted to say that kit refinement modification in no way changes any pve build which use it, because you mostly use it on gren kit.
In PvE, grenade spamming is still decent, albiet no where near warriors, so we’re kind of left out of the speed run parties…guess that means unviable.

Tbh yes. Especially if they somehow fixed RNG of toolbelt counterpart.
I’ve tried it for a bit and its a real good control its area of effect is surpisingly nice.
With 10s it could be like a smaller but much flexible version of BoB.
I’ve played quite a while with mine in spvp just for the sake of it. You would be surprised how innovative you can be in people bowling game even with 20s cd. The trick is not to use it like a fence between you and enemy. You throw it from aside and then boom man goes from some ledge to oblivion.
With 10s it would bring joy enough in spvp, could be even useful in zerg www.
But a 10s utility would go against arena’s concept of game anyway.
I don’t think one could get by with a mostly gadget build though.
They would force you to use rifle of course and X/30-X/0/0/30. Excellent in 1v1, almost guaranteed win with that ridiculous amount of control. But 1v1 is not encouraged in most areas of the game.

Grenadier + EG + rifle + proper skill rotation = extreme damage + constant buffs to party members smart enough to use finishers. Nuff said.

some people constantly running dungeons/fotm put BAD players in their contact list adding description like ‘never run with him again’.

The problem isn’t that melee is impossible, just that it takes way more effort, skill, and luck to survive it than staying at range does, for little to no practical advantage.

This i can partly agree. GW2 is very, very highly depends on connection quality. I was forced to feel this myself last 2 weeks while my ISP do repairs. That is not to say ranged doesn’t feel this problem. My main is engi and he still suffer much from bad connection.

P.S. after switching to full 100nade engi i find it much much more easier and effective to simply stay in boss model (of course, where you can do it at all). Good bye range ;[

I don’t mind. I can repeat that i’ve been playing just exactly your style almost since start and was able to be on par up to 20 fotm in rare MF gear. And my point was that me, who was enjoying this kit juggling you talk about, was surprised (and, prolly, unpleasant) by lack of real visual difference in performance after trying dat kitten elixir simpleton.
Of course, in absence of exact numbers nothing to talk about anymore, i agree. When i’ll make measurements of dif gear and builds, i’ll return to topic.

HGH is a decent idea in theory, but terrible in execution – encouraging players to simply blow their utilities for more damage is a trap to encourage such reckless, wasteful behavior
First thing people keep forgetting is might ALSO gives condi, not only rampager.
Second thing is, i personally run with strict power builds since i’ve got 80 and i was first of all surprised myself that hgh really effective enough to the point i can’t compare it to zerk crit from simple observe.
Third thing is, the utilities.. the only difference is whether you take B (for HGH) or wrench (for crit zerk) and what do you take in heal slot. Other two are always grenades and Stomp anyway.
Fourth, elixir juggling personally i find irritating but i don’t find it more time consuming than maneuvers with wrench in case of zerk max.
Either way i’ll try in foreseable future take proper tests of combinations of different gear and these 2 builds (30/0/0/30/10 and 30/10/0/0/30) variations.
There’s a colossal difference between 10% crit damage and 108% crit damage
As there is between having almost 0 might and 15 might, both in power and condi damage. If only we had kit with totally power skills (like warrior GS) there would not be a things to compare. But we do and in absence of proper measurement..
P.S. i forgot to add that it’s a rampager + beryls + crit trinkets i was trying. So its not THAT big difference of crit damage, its about 30%.
Last one sounds more balanced, cause has obvious weakness in close combat as the sniper kit supposed to. 5) skill should just be reflection wall without other buffs, it would diminish guardian role but on a proper scale.
But then you can go with rampager and 30/0/0/30/10 and have both power, condition and crit damage. Tbh, i’ve tried fractals 20+ with that one and with 30/0/0/10/30 to no great difference other than HGH is much more survivable and forgiving but on the other side much more button mashing…
Then, again, keeping 25 vuln on boss compared to 10 means 15% more damage from group.

If we leave aside all perfectly fine reasons of fun, experimenting, specific team build synergy or whatever, i’d say in today engi state S brings much more than other utilities. You really have to explain why you don’t bring a -60s mass stability to your group or why you can’t reach sieged tower on your own

Man, you probably misunderstood my “what is use” question. I literally asked what is supposed use of build. If you say www – ok.
And take notice i exactly specified ‘bring to group’ COMPARED to other builds. So you can’t argue rifle/wrench controls at all – many other builds bring it; heck, almost every engi build has wrench since wrench buff.
Next, why i asked about stomp – cause in every, literally every use of engi today except point bunkering his S elixir brings so many possibilities to help.
last thing, in www i perfectly can understand choosing PBR over RT.
